I am quite upset... I purchased 2 VAIO laptops in 2007 with Service Pack 2 loaded on them... a year and a half ago I joined an IT organization which forced me to use Office 365 on my VISTA laptop. I had a fully licensed Windows VISTA
- Office 2007 suite on my laptop, which was upgraded through MS 365. When the IT company went under 6-months ago, Office 365 was shut down. Today when I turned on my laptop it said that I had an unlicensed version of Office 2010 on my computer
and I am no longer able to utilize my email for my current job. I am beyond angry right now and would like MS to get this 2010 version up and running or get my Vista Office 2007 version active again, which was not an option when Office 365 was shut off.
My laptop came loaded with the software so there was no way to reinstall the version that came with it after MS 365 overwrote it and hijacked my laptop. I need this resolved ASAP so I can work tomorrow.

I suggest you contact the retailer from whom you purchased the laptops to ask if it's possible to get the Office 2007 back.
As for the activation, since the policy may differ in different areas, it's better to contact your local customer service to get support on this issue:

Conflict between program Mac mail and program Microsoft Outlook e-mail???

A conflict between program Mac mail and program Microsoft Outlook e-mail?
For several months tried to discuss and resolve with several Apple specialists/support, but without much luck.
Therefore I have discussed these issues with 2 different and independent Mac users to find out in testing other Mac users will have the same problems as outlined in the below mentioned situations.
I will therefore outline the coverage issues, as mentioned, including occurs on my iMac 21.5 " with serial number: <Edited by Host> and 2 friends with their Macbooks of new dates as follows:
1. Sending from my Mac plain mail as "plain text "(during formatting):
Plain text mail as "Plain Text "(during formatting) Verdana font size 10, sent and received on Windows PC with the correct letter size - but with the font changed to Century Gothic!!!
2. Sending from my Mac plain mail "formatted text" (during formatting):
Eg. with my signature/signature-colored types and Verdana as font and size 10, possibly with underlining and italics in the text dispatched - the mail received as text with New Times Roman size 12 and signing /signature color Verdana now in size 13.5!!!!
3. Sending plain mail "as normal text "(during formatting)
In the mail text underlined and made bold - the program asks whether to convert to RTF format (to keep underlining, bold, etc.) and Verdana as font and size 10, YES - this mail is received on the Windows PC as text with New Times Roman with the desired underlining and bold text and size 12!!!!
4. Plain text mail as "formatted Text"
Eg. with signature / signature-colored types and Verdana as font and size 10, possibly with underlining and italics in the text sent - received as text with New Times Roman and signing / signature as colored Verdana now in size 13.5!!!
5. Sending mail with file attached:
After producing a normal text document modified to PDF and directly from the Adobe Reader sent this PDF file in e-mail formatted as normal text with font Verdana 10 point, with signature. This is received on the Windows PC with a PDF file OK, but the font of the mail text is changed to Century Gothic and missing signature. Signature is available as an attachment on the Windows Outlook e-mail program as a ATT00113.text file. This can be opened and there is the missing signature!
6. Sending e-mail with photos directly from iPhoto
iPhoto opens and click on the desired photos eg. 5 pcs. (Exactly as mentioned in the demo video!) and click on the e-mail icon at iPhoto and the program opens and e-mail that is opened with the attached photos and rich text is being used in the mail. Signature disappears and must be clicked on the mail by the sender.
The mail is received with the attached pictures OK - text changed to Times Roman with the desired bold - though no signature and 5 pcs. Att0028.html files attached. These can be opened and contains the file number each picture!
The above problems can be partly avoided by the following:
1. Only send mails as plain text
Without any underlining, attachments, etc.. When the Windows PC Outlook receiver opens the mail where only the text fond is changed!!
2. Sending mail with attached file
Start opening the mail program and use formatted plain text first and then attach (with the staple) file, and the Window receiver will get the file, but text and signature changed to Times New Roman size 13!!
3. Sending mail with photos from iPhoto
Start by opening mail program text in Verdana 10 and click the Photo Browser and find (look for - takes its time!) the pictures you want to send and pull/drag them into the mail and send, - images, text and signature are in the mail on Windows PC - but with the font changed to Century Gothic!!!
If sent as formatted text with various underlining, italics, etc. together with the photos will be received OK - but the writing is now New Times Roman size 12 signatures Verdana now in size 13!!!
I must say – I am disappointed with the Mac mail program – it actually means that sending a perfect mail with underlining, colours, a.s.o. also photos directly from iPhoto – will received at a Windows computer in a totally mess.
Looking forward to some good news from either Mac supporter or some clever Mac users who can help me to adjust my Mac to avoid these problems IF POSSIBLE!!!!.
Apple/Mac is too good a product to make these problems!!

The PC sets the font on its side, the Mac does on its side for plain text. There is no "font size" in plain text coding. Rich Text gives you a bit more control, but only if both e-mail clients support it. HTML gives you a bit more control, but only if both e-mail clients support it. Use the asterisk, parenthesis, underscore, or any keyboard symbol that is part of the original ASCII. Otherwise, the chance is nobody else will be able to read it who does not have your e-mail client in the same version.
Sadly there are no e-mail standards except MIME for attachment, and even that isn't universally supported. E-mail is not the ideal medium for anything except plain text that is ASCII. To learn more about ASCII, see:

you are asking about Microsoft products and using a laptop, not a workstation Mac Pro.
The Numbers and Pages Apple Communities. or MS Community if you want those.
Importing and Exporting, but Numbers and Pages will not do a SAVE into other formats by default, and therefore have to keep using Export which is messy.
Changing your own thread midstream may not be ['thread hijack'] but it is like having the rug pulled out by changing the subject on us.

PDF previewer in Microsoft Outlook

For some reason, I have lost the functionality for previewing PDF files in Microsoft Outlook. While I can double click on PDF attachments in emails and open Adobe Acrobat Full Product, I cannot preview them. "This filed cannot be previewed because of an error with the follower previewer - Adobe PDF Preview Handler." I have tried to turn on and off that function in Outlook. I have uninstalled Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro, taking care to have outlook closed when I do so. I have also installed, uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Reader. I have gone to the Microsoft knowledge base. None of this makes a difference. I figure somewhere, a file has been deleted or corrupted. Any thoughts? Thanks.

It appears that Outlook cannot open .pdf attachment because there is a missing link between Acrobat and Outlook. Tow possibilities for this problem might be such:
1. You have both Acrobat Reader also installed on your system. Adobe recommend that both product (Reader and full Acrobat) should not be on the same system. If this is the case for your system, you should uninstall Reader.
2. Another possibility is that something is wrong with you Acrobat installation. On my system, there two Acrobat icons in the Outlook toolbar. If this is not the case on your copy of Outlook, try a repair operation on Acrobat and see if this solves your problem. If that does not work, do a repair on Microsoft Outlook.

The CrashIDs are what is needed. Do not attempt to attach or paste the reports.

So you are saying it works ok as long as you avoid certain pages such as this Forum. That makes me wonder if it could be malware that is blocking access to assistance.Run malwarescans with multipe and up-to-date tools.

I updated the software on my Macbook Pro, and ever since I cannot close my Microsoft Outlook. It asks for my product key, which I enter in correctly, but it says it's invalid. And can't update my iTunes until I can close Outlook - please help!!

I have no experience with Microsoft Outlook, but to my knowledge iCloud.com (MobileMe in the recent past) has
never been able to display subscribed calendars pushed throughout your devices using the iCloud service (i.e. synced calendars you've manually subscribed to through websites or 3rd party apps).
Although subscribed calendars sync throughout iDevices beautifully, it's really a bummer especially if there's ever an instance where (god-forbid) you don't have any of your iDevices and all you have access to is a public computer and would like to view said calendars. I guess in this particular occurrence it doesn't just work.
If I happen to be incorrect, could someone please enlighten me! It would be great to be able to view ALL of my calendars on iCloud.com

GroupWise 7 Import Utility for Microsoft Outlook B

Hi,
We use Outlook with the GroupWise Connector, but now we want to migrate to
the GroupWise client.
Most of the users have created a PST file in outlook.
I want to convert the PST files with the novell tool "GroupWise 7 Import
Utility for Microsoft Outlook B".
If I run the tool when I am connected to the archive the folder structure
is created, but only 1% of the mails get restored!!
Is there sometghing I missed?
I have tried to convert the PST file to an older version and I tried to run
scanpst, but the outcome is the same!!
Does someone have a suggestion?

I would totally agree about the advansys/formativ product. We converted
..PST files that in some cases were 15 to 21 GB (yes gigabytes) in size and
had perfect results. It just takes a long time with PST files that size.
Best part is the Outlook product from advansys is FREE! You install it on a
workstation that has both GroupWise and Outlook. It plugs itself into the
GroupWise client and you start the process from GW client. It goes out to
the Exchange system and/or to the .PST files and begins the migration.

Microsoft Outlook 2011 can't search emails

Since upgrading to Lion, I can't search emails in Microsoft Outlook 2011 (which I also had to upgrade to since Microsoft Office 2004 wasn't compatible with Lion). Is this a software conflict that can be resolved, or a more serious issue?

Hey I finally got an older vesion of itunes to work!!! 10.7 x64 for windows 7
After uninstalling all apple products even quicktime
I had to delete everything from (program files, and program files x64, program data,)
And all downloads from apple, and I went in to search deleted other stuff from apple, and itunes
But definently not my itunes library and Playlist
Down loaded 10.7 x64 for windows 7, but checked (do not start when done)
Then I emptied my recycling bin and restarted my PC
I ran geek tech tool box same as reg cure pro, also PC Tools registry cleaner, and CC Cleaner
Then I emptied my recycling bin and restarted my PC
And wallah... It finally works, and I Love the older version anyways.
Easier to download and transfer music!!!!!

Microsoft Office 2004 Products don't function on Mac OSX Lion

I installed Lion on both my iMac and Mac Book Pro. When I did the installs I didn't keep Snow Lepoard so I could boot either the old or new system. After signing on to Lion I notice that all my Microsoft 2004 Office products no longer function. I looked into the steps to re-install Snow Leporad but that doesn't look easy, its wasteful, and I might have to kep it around forever. Since I have an extensive number of Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Access files does anyone know if the lastest version of Microsoft Office for Mac is support on Lion? The only other solution I see is to move exything to cloud version of office

If you don't need Exchange you can get Office 2008 H&S very reasonably from Amazon with free shipping. $89.75
Office 2011 H&S does not contain Outlook. In addition, Office 2011 now has activation and number of installs are different than previous versions.
See this chart to know which version to purchase.
Lastly, Outlook for Mac 2011 is version 1 software. Do not expect Outlook for Mac to be anything close to Outlook for Windows. Just because it's not storing your messages in a database it still has lots of issues that damages or looses your data.

For Mac, the Microsoft product is called "Entourage." It's just like Outlook for the PC. I use Outlook on a PC at work and Entourage at home.

The biggest consideration for me is that it's an all in one organizer. So if you work from email and are used to creating tasks and calendar events from email, it's a good choice because it's the same as Outlook. Plus you can accept Outlook invitations from coworkers.
Both can connect to an Exchange server if you need it.
If you just need to check mail, Mail.app is way easier to use and better looking and more elegant because it's made by a superior software development organization.
