Microsoft Password and Facebook Help on Nokia Lumi...

My Nokia Lumia 928 is constantly having problems with my password for both my Microsoft account and Facebook. Every time I enter my Microsoft account password, it says it is syncing and then says "Attention Required". I have logged on my computer successfully with the same information. I even changed my password on my computer and entered it on my phone. Still no success. I have also reset my entire phone. Nothing has worked.
Facebook has had the same problem except it accepts my password in the "Email and Accounts" settings but when I go to messages and scroll to "Online", It says the password is incorrect and please go to settings to fix this. Yet it says people are online and I can talk to them If I press Cancel. But I can not recieve messages. Only send them. It syncs successfully in the "Email and Accounts" settings also. Pleas help as this is driving me up the wall. I have never had such a simple problem with a smartphone.

I'm afraid thats a question for Microsoft.

5800 Problem with Ovi Store and Facebook - HELP PL...

I have had my 5800 for about 4 weeks now and had a great time using Facebook and downloading stuff from the Ovi Store when suddenly my problem appeared. When I try and log on to the Ovi Store it says at the bottom "you are logged in as Purpledwarfy but when I try to move onto another page I get an error saying "sign in failed, check your user name and password" I know that my username and password are correct because they work on all the other PCs I have tried it on. I have also tried to change my password and it hasn't made a difference.
On Facebook I log in using the same details that get me access on a PC and it looks like it is going to load my page but just goes straight back to the login page.
Has anyone else had the same problem and have you been able to fix it??

Hi, I got it fixed in the end. I found the nearest Nokia Service Centre Experts who ended up being Carphone Warehouse. I handed them my phone and went back to get it a couple of hours later and it was fixed. All they did was wipe the phone, after saving my contacts etc onto the memory card, and then rebuilt it. Working great now

Thanks for posting and welcome!
Yes, you can use Facebook chat on your Lumia 800, in fact it is built in to by default. You will just need to create your Facebook account through Settings>email+account>add an account and after this your Facebook contacts will be imported into the people hub of your Lumia.
You can choose any of the options bellow;
Select a person to chat with and from their profile select text (here you will see all available text options such as SMS, Facebook, twitter etc..
Open the messaging hub and tap the on the top of the screen to add people to chat to. By default you will use SMS but when a contact has other chat options available you will see this icon in the option bar on the bottom of the screen. Tap that and select another option such as Facebook
If someone send you a Facebook message you will get a notification and there will be a conversation in the Messaging hub. By default this will then be a Facebook conversation obviously.
You can also change conversations from say SMS to Facebook if someone would be sending you SMS messaging while underway (when they do not have the same options you have with your Windows Phone) and when they get home you can switch to using Facebook.

How do i minimize microsoft, google and facebook always in my face. I want pure fox.

Bing and Google and facebook are not welcome. They have this huge bluster of entitlement. If i wanted them I would invite. It is like if I sell you a product at your door and instead of thanking you and leaving I barge in and insist you buy something again and again. To top it off I refuse to leave and apparently the law is on my side. I dig in and sell and push and crush even any attempt for you to just ignore me. I am a one percenter (1%) and I am fully entitled to take and take because life owes me a living. Sorry 4 the soapbox.
What I want is a Firefox browsing experience minus the above. Will I need to learn code to mold my own UI?
I greatly appreciate any consideration.

Google pays Mozilla to be the default search engine, but you can choose a different one. The method for changing it varies depending on how you search:
(1) Search bar/search box: simply choose a different engine from the drop-down list. This also governs the searches from the right-click menu for text selected in the page.
(2) URL bar/address bar: you need to manually edit a setting (keyword.URL), and for that you need the URL to submit your query (Startpage.com example: [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/921844 wrong search engine opens unless I use alt-tab]).
(3) Home page search box: you need to manually edit a setting, and for that you need the URL to submit your query (DuckDuckGo example: [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/934785 Can you change the search engine from Google to something else on the Firefox default home page?]).
If you have a preferred search engine, someone might be able to give you more specific pointers.

Email and Facebook Help

My LG phone was working great. Now all of a sudden I can send email but not receive any email. Also, all of a sudden this morning my Facebook keeps saying "error loading newsfeed". What's going on and how do I fix it?

Missvg57, thanks for the additional details. We'd love to help find resolution to these troubles today. You mentioned that there was a recent update to your Facebook application. Does the application state that it's up to date in the play store? If you're receiving an error message from a specific application (Facebook), then I'd suggest contacting the developer through the play store to report these errors.
What type of email address do you have installed on the device? Have you tried removing and re-adding the email account? Please share some further details. Thanks.

Each (automatic) update loses all my passwords (and existing "help" is a nightmare)

I have read MANY other people experiencing this problem, and I have seen no good answers. (Some answers require several days of parsing, and I don't have that much time.)
Every time Firefox updates itself automatically, it loses most of my passwords!!
Yes, I've read there is a "profile" yadda yadda yadda. But does that mean I need to jump through all kinds of loops when this automatic update happens?
If so, I will gladly leave Firefox and move to another browser.
I have never experienced such difficulty with any browser, never with Safari, which I left only because it wasn't working with many websites.

Why not update manually? If you do it that way, the profile is not in use when the update takes place, so nothing in it should be corrupted.

You can check your iCloud email account by setting up iCloud on your iOS device and accessing the Mail application or simply by going to www.iCloud.com on a computer.

If you set yp the Air before transfer, look in Users or Accounts pref pane to see if the other user is there to login to.

If you don't remember your iPad's passcode, you have to restore it as a new device.

The passcode is quite secure. It would not be worthwhile to have one otherwise.

Have Microsoft password but need SKYPE password to...

Hi It seems my skype account got hacked. as I have a strange email as main email in my account.
So I went on and changed my password ( Microsoft password) and wanted to updated and delete the wrong information in my skype account. But the skype system requires me to now log on with my SKYPE PASSWORT not my Microsoft password. But evidently I forgot it or the hacker changed it.
Creating a new account is not an option for me as I use the number for business and its on many handed out name cards.
How can I change my SKYPE password in this case?

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; this can be done by clicking here and picking a method, or if your country isn't listed, filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

A quick search on the community shows many issues related to forgotten or missing passwords. It’s clearly an issue all of us have experienced at some point in time with varying degrees of importance and frustration. In this article, I’ll provide a high level overview of common password types, what you can do to secure your password, and what Acer can do if you’re not able to get into your system. In this article we’ll discuss three types of passwords;
Hardware Passwords (BIOS and HDD Passwords)
Operating System (OS) Passwords (for Windows, Android, etc..)
Web and Application Passwords (Email, Instant Messenger, etc..)
Hardware Passwords
For the most part there are two types of hardware passwords that can be created on Acer products: A BIOS password, and a Hard Disk Drive (HDD) password. These passwords add an additional level of security before a user is allowed to load the operating system. These passwords can also be a liability due to the fact that if the owner forgets his or her password, the machine will not boot up and there are very few if no options available from the end user side to reset them.
When to use a BIOS or HDD Password? – I personally do not suggest using these passwords unless you have a specific function that requires them, such as a business machine that may be accessed by someone not involved with the business.
What can Acer do if I’ve lost or forgotten my BIOS or HDD password? – Acer has tools and procedures available to remove and reset these passwords. This process is only used within an authorized Acer repair facility. Contact your local Acer Service team to inquire about pricing and service options.
Operating System Passwords
An OS password is a password tied to an account used to access the operating system. The account is what you use to store settings and maintain some private data. These passwords have typically been stored locally but with the release of Windows 8, you can now use your Microsoft account to access your computer. This would allow you to change or reset your password from another machine.
When to use an Operating System Password? – An OS password is a great tool for anyone who shares a computer with others, and wants their own settings and configuration without having to share personal data.
What can Acer do if I’ve lost or forgotten my Operating System password? – Proactively, Acer provides you with all of the tools you’ll need. For pre-Windows 8 units, we have articles on how to create a password recovery disk (http://acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/6770 ). If you don’t have access to this tool and cannot access your system, Acer will recommend using the recovery options to restore the system (this will erase all data, so there are consequences). You can use Recovery Disks (http://acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/12866) you would have made previously, or attempt to reload the machine before Windows loads (http://acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2631). For Windows 8 units, a Microsoft account can be reset by using another computer and visiting http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/forgot-windows-password.
Web and Application Passwords
Passwords used on the Web or other Applications such as email, instant messaging, Facebook, Twitter or online services are controlled by the company that provides the software or web interface. These providers have lost password features that will help you retrieve or reset your password. Acer cannot provide any assistance with this process.
What can you do to secure your passwords?
I suggest everyone takes some time to learn more about passwords; a quick Google search for “a guide to secure passwords” provides numerous articles on how to create strong passwords and even some tricks to help your remember them. While I don’t recommend any one method, using what you feel is the best information from these resources, combined with others, will help you be secure.
Another tool that is very useful is a password manager (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Password_manager). These help organize and maintain all of your passwords with one master password. The downside to this if you lose your master password it can cause issues for multiple services, so use it wisely.

Brad.On Passwords.Does this mean, for Windows 7, that we need to leave our admin (Control Panel\User Accounts and Family Safety\User Accounts) password out when doing a complete restore back to factory, as well as our personal bios password? On the same line, our eRecovery Password, when to keep it in and when to take it out? I have noticed after a complete restore, that although my password is in everywhere else, under power options, to put a password in when yourcomputer awakes is left blank, that is my computers default power option setting, so I am prompted to change my password under user accounts.. We are fellow users here on these public forums, you're not talking to iTunes Support - I've asked the hosts to remove your email addresses and password from your post. If that is your current password that you've posted for everyone to see then you should change it IMMEDIATELY.
I'm not sure that I understand all of your post. By 'google' do you mean your gmail email accounts ? If you do then how are you trying to access your email, via the Mail app and/or another app on your phone, the Mail program or a browser on your Mac ? If you are using the Mail app on your phone and you've checked your email account's password then you should be able to add that new password on your phone by tapping on the email account in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars, then tap on the 'account' at the top of the next screen, and you should then be able to enter the new password. If you are using the Facebook app on your iPhone, and you've changed the password for logging into Facebook, then you should be able to update it on your phone via Settings > Facebook
If you are using the Mail app on your Mac, then to change your gmail password in it (assuming that you've changed the password for it) then go into Mail > Preferences (command-comma), select the Accounts tab on the preferences, select the gmail account on the list of accounts, and on the right-hand side of that screen you should be able to update its password.
If the problems are on your Mac then you might be better off re-posting in one of the other forums (e.g. Safari, and there are forums for various Mac OS X versions), and there is also a Using iPhone forum - this forum is for the iTunes Store e.g. buying, downloading content from iTunes.
