Microsoft Project Free Trial instlation problem

My name is Dawn,
I have repeatedly downloaded Microsoft Project free trial it downloads and when I go to my files to open it, it says "Sorry there was a problem Mounting the file" "Couldn't Mount File"  How do I fix this so I can access the free
Microsoft Project for my college class.
Dawn

Dawn --
Before I attempted to install my copy of Microsoft Project 2013, I downloaded and installed the free application called 7-Zip.  Then I used 7-Zip to unzip the contents of the IMG file, where I could find the installation EXE file and install the software.
I do not work for 7-Zip or have any financial interest in the company.  It simply helps me to deal with IMG files without needing to burn an installation CD or DVD.  Hope this helps.

  • Cannot install Microsoft Project 2013 Trial

    Hi everyone,
I'm having a nightmare trying to install the Microsoft Project 2013 trial. I've read various forum posts, but can anyone give me a basic step by step guide to installing the trial!!!! I keep getting an .img file which does not open anything relevant! all
i want is a microsoft project icon to click on...please!!!!!!!!!

    Matt --
I think your question is the most repeated question in this public user forum.  Most people download the Microsoft Project 2013 trial version and expect to find an EXE file, which is not what you get.  Instead, for some reason only known to Microsoft,
you end up with an IMG file.
To install the software, you have the choice of burning it to a disk, or you can use third party software to unzip the contents of the IMG file.  I have opted for the second choice, and used the free software from 7-Zip.  If you use the 7-Zip software,
you can unzip the contents to a folder, and then run the EXE file you will find in the folder.  And no, I do not work for 7-Zip; I have used their software successfully and like it.  Hope this helps.

  • Microsoft Project Professional Trial 2013

I tried to download MS Project Pro Trial 2013 this morning (64-bit) and my computer told me that I needed the 32-bit. So I went through the registration process again and downloaded the 32-bit.  Upon trying to run MS Project it gave me an error message
after typing in my trial code stating.
Error 25004: The product key you entered cannot be used on this machine. This is most likely due to previous MS Office 2013 trials being installed
Any help would be great on how I can successfully trial MS Project.

    Hi,
Have you installed Microsoft Project Professional Trial 2013 or Office 2013 pro before?
Did you have installed any version of Office in this PC now?
As far as I know, the error occurs when we try to install a Windows Installer (MSI)-based version of Office/Project 2013 on a computer on which the computer manufacturer has already installed a version
    of Microsoft Office/Project 2013.
Please try the following steps and check they are helpful.
    Navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared
If there is a folder called OFFICE15 or OfficeSoftwareProtectionPlatform delete that folder.
    Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Microsoft Shared
Same as above, If there is a folder called OFFICE15 or OfficeSoftwareProtectionPlatform delete that folder.
    Reinstall
Please note: Backup before you deteted
    Tips:
Office 32 bit version could be installed with both of 32bit and 64 bit Windows OS.
Make sure all versions of Office/Project are either 32-bit or 64-bit. You can’t have a mix of both.

  • Motion free trial download problem

i have a mac book pro with 2 gigs or ram, and dual 2.16GHz intel core duo.
after i installed the trial, it comes up good, i click on start a new project. after this happens i get the pin wheel for a couple seconds and all the windows come up like there suppose to, but close after 1 second of being up.
why is this? the computer is well fast enough to run it. I was going to buy final cut studio but dont want this to happen after i buy it. could it just be the Demo file that i got from the apple site, and i shouldnt have a problem with the full version?

I bet that the free trial is not a Universal Binary, so it's not compatible with new Intel Macs. Can't say for sure, because I can't find the file on Apple's website.
Select the app's icon, and choose "get info" in Finder. If you can read "Application (Power PC)" in the info window, it means this demo is not fully-Intel compatible.

  • Microsoft Project 2013 trial 64-bit download file is corrupt

I downloaded the 64-bit trial version of Microsoft Project 2013, but when I try to burn the .img file to a DVD, I get the message: "The selected disk image file isn't valid."
When I use winrar to expand the file and then run setup.exe, i get the message "Setup cannot continue because a required file is either corrupted or not available."
I've repeated the download several times, each time with the same result.
(The 32-bit version downloaded fine, and I was able to burn it to DVD, but it's not the version I need to install.)
My OS is Windows 7 Professional.
    Any ideas?

    Hi FKA-PBR,
Sorry you are having issues.  I managed to download OK from
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/hh973401.aspx and extracted without any issues and could run setup .  Worth deleting what you have downloaded before just in case it is trying to over-write something.  If it happens again then
getting logs from you might help establish what it thinks is broken.
    Best regards,
    Brian

  • Free Trial install problems

I can't install the free trial because when I open the download it ask me the password but it doesn't recognize it.

Without system info and otehr details nobody can even guess. If it asks for your local computer's admin password, then this is nothing we can help you with, anyway. That'Äs stuff you have to know...

  • Office 365 and MIcrosoft Project MPP Trial Download

where can I find a trial of project that works with Office 365...I received a key but its for office or 8.

To the best of my knowledge, the only trial that is available is the full MSI installation.  However, it should work fine with Office 365 as long as you are installing the same version (32 or 64 bit) ass Office 365.

  • Microsoft Project 2013 trial has a download error

Downloads from this link do not work right now. Please fix:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-US/evalcenter/hh973401
I spent the whole day trying to extract the ProjectProfessional_x86_en-us.img file. Burning DVDs, using 7-Zip and chaning the file name to .ISO are not the answer in this case. Microsoft and TechNet need to check for a download error and post when there's a
    solution.
This is $1000 software. It makes no sense that there wouldn't have been a fix sooner.
    Grant

Grant, I went ahead and downloaded this to see if it worked for me, and it didn't. But I did find that you can download this free utility and then mount the .img file with it so you can install. Try it and let me know if it works.

  • Flash 8 Trial instlation problem

    Hello guys,
I have a big issue trying to install flash 8 downloaded from
Macromedia web site. I've done it several times so I don't have
    corrupted download.
Well, error message I've got tell me that "Administrator has
configured software restrictionas to prevent this installation".
Then app error log has error that reads: "Instalation of
    C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Installations\Macromedia Flash 8\Macromedia
Flash 8.msi is forrbiden couse of software restriction policies."
As far as I'm aware I'm owner of my Windows XP Proff desktop and I
don't recon putting any soft. restr. on it. Anoying thing and
probablly a Windows problem couse I can't find any more topics like
that on google but maybe anyone got any suggestion??
    Thanks, Greg

I'll approach this from the opposite end... replace the code
    you have with:
    on(release){
    getURL("
    http://gnome.deseloper.com",
    "_blank");
If that works, then the problem is that you didn't put the
code where the instructions you show indicated you should. For what
you did, the code I just showed is appropriate (though not a good
practice because it is hidden from easy review). It's better to
keep your code in the timeline where it can be easily found.
You will have selected the button and then typed the code in
the actionscript editor. Instead, you need to
click on the frame in the (separate) actions layer in the
main timeline that you should have made already, not the button
layer, and then place that code from the tutorial in the
    actionscript editor window.

  • Free Trial Microsoft Project Activate

    Hello,
There was some trouble with the download of the free 60 day trial of Microsoft Project Professional.  Started with  64 bit but the computer needed 32 bit.   To activate the product it will not accept my Microsoft account sign
in.  Secondly, the key I have written down doesn't have enough characters.  Please let me know where I can find the key or how to activate the product.  I was not emailed one.  Please respond via email at [email protected]
    Thank you,
    DyerPart

The key is provided to you when you
register for the 60 Project Professional 2013 trial. If the key you wrote down doesn't have enough characters you should be able to go back to the eval site and review the product key.

  • Unable to download Microsoft Project Professional 2013 trial

I've been unable to download the trial version of the MS Project Professional iso file from the TechNet Evaluation Center.  I start the download process but it immediately flashes "error" and then reverts back to the previous download
    page.
I've tried both Chrome and Explorer browers, and both 32-bit and 64-bit downloads.  I've also tried disabling antivirus and firewall. I've searched the web extensibly with no resolution.  I've tried to download on both home and work computers to
various directories. I've also found numerous similar problems here on the TechNet forums, but absolutely no helpful response or resolution from Microsoft.
Microsoft online support tells me to call phone support.  Phone support tells me they don't support trial versions.  Who in their right mind would pay $1200 without being able to first try the product, especially when the company won't
even support their own software services?!
Anyone have any insight on how to fix this download error?
    Thanks!
