  • Report Viewer Configuration Error

    Hi,
I manage a TFS 2010 Server that makes heavy use of Reporting Services, and I have a user that reported the following error
when attempting to open a report in the Microsoft Visual Studio Report Viewer:
    Report Viewer Configuration Error
The Report Viewer Web Control HTTP Handler has not been registered in the application's web.config file. Add <add verb="*" path="Resevred.ReportViewerWebControl.xsd" type = "Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms.HttpHandler, ReportingServicesWebServer,
    Version=10.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=################" /> to the system.web/httpHandlers section of the web.config file, or add <add name="ReportViewerWebControlHandler" preCondition="integratedMode" verb="*"
    path="Reserved.ReportViewerWebControl.axd" type="Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms.HttpHandler, ReportingServicesWebServer, Version=10.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=################" /> to the system.webServer/handlers section for
Internet Information Services 7 or later.
Has anyone seen this error before, or have any advice on finding a solution?
    Thank you.

    Hi HealthServices3300,
You can try to install "Microsoft Report Viewer 2010 Redistributable Package" on your server to check if it works for you.
For the web.config info, it's for web application. And I'd like to know how did you create the report, and whether the report is for a web app or reporting service. From the error message and report, seems it's not a TFS issue. If it's SSRS project
issue, please post this issue to
this forum. If it's a report viewer control issue, you can post this issue in
this forum for a professional response. After that, please update this thread with the new thread link. Thanks for your understanding.

  • Crystal Reports Viewer 2008 and parameter fields

    Hello,
I saw this product on the main Crystal Reports site this afternoon and decided to download it to try it out.  I have a number of users who would benefit from being able to preview their report results prior to actually running the report.  This seems like the perfect product.  I have a large number of Crystal Reports which were created in Crystal version XI.  I also downloaded the free 30 day version of Crystal Reports 2008 yesterday to see what new features are there.
While testing Crystal Reports Viewer, I tried to run one of my reports which needs a parameter to run properly (account number).  This type of parameter is needed for probably 98% of this business' reports.
The problem: Crystal Reports Viewer does not prompt me to input the parameter.  In my actual Crystal Report, I had the box "Save Data with Report' left unchecked, as the account number frequently changes.  However, if that box is left unchecked, Crystal Reports Viewer will give me the error message "No Saved Data.  This report file does not contain saved data and cannot be viewed.  To get data into the report, please open and re-save it in the Crystal Reports designer application with the "Save Data with Report" option selected."
Thinking that possibly it was the version of Crystal Reports in which the report was created (XI), I downloaded the free trial of Crystal 2008 and created a very simple test report with one parameter for account number where the account number is retrieved from our database.  And I am having the same trouble.
The "Help" section of Crystal Reports Viewer tells me that I can select my parameters in the parameter panel.  I do not see anything in my parameter panel other than the words "Current Data Set Last refreshed: 04/12/10 2:58 PM".  The help tells me that I can "select the parameter directly in this panel by entering a new value", but there is no option to do so.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    thanks,
    Noel

What I've learned is that I was originally using Crystal Viewer XI and upon opening it I received a message indicating there was an update.
I ran the update which put me on Crystal Viewer 2008.
Since then I have not been able to refresh my screen to bring up the parameters.

  • WSUS 2012 Installing Report Viewer

    Hello,
Setting up my first WSUS on a Server 2012 machine.  To view a computer status and it through an error stating that I needed to install Microsoft Report Viewer 2008 Redistributable.  I downloaded Report viewer then tried to install it and the install
stated I needed .Net 2.0.  I know that .Net 3.5 includes 2.0 so I tried to install the feature through server manager.  Server manager couldn't find the files. I downloaded 3.5 and tried to install it specifying where the files were and Server Manager
still could not find the installation.  I researched other fixes on line and found there is a Report Viewer 2012.  I downloaded it then tried to install it and it stated it needed Microsoft System CLR types for SQL server 2012.  I
don't have nor do I need Microsoft SQL server and would like to avoid installing it if it is not necessary. So I looked into some other things people have done to fix this issue and came across a fix where I has to use Power Shell to run a command
on the ISO image to enable the 3.5 feature. This didn't work either.  So what do I need to do to get this going?

    Hi,
Pls make sure that the .net 3.5 has been installed thru the adding feature wizard, and then install the Report Viewer 2008 Redistributable. If possible, restart your server and try it again.
After that, make sure Report Viewer 2008 Redistributable has been installed.

  • Crystal Reports Viewer - pdf, prompts, icons problem

    Hi all,
I am a new in BO.
I have some answer about Crystal Reports Viewer (not about setup.exe but about CRV application that I uploaded on Tomcat)
    1) The old version (11.5) works good, only Export to PDF functionality is wrong. There are in the pdf file wrong display of specific czech characters (charset)
    2) A new version, Crystal Reports Viewer 2008, show the same pdf mistake. I have J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 4 and Apache Tomcat 5.5.9.
I upload application on Tomcat, configuration (web.xml, crconfig.xml and context.xml) is the same with version 11.5.
Crystal Reports Viewer 2008 displayed reports, but the problem with PDF is present. The second problem is the look of CRV. First one, the icons (for export, print...all icons) are not displayd. I can copy old jar files into java (in application folder C:\WebReports\WEB-INF\lib), but then CRV looks like old version.
And CRV 2008 doesn't display listbox in dynamic prompt on crystal report. What shall I set to displaying prompts in CRV 2008 (on CRV or on report in Crystal 2008)?
Have you some idea? What and how can I set and configure application and where?
    Veronika

    Hi,
To confirm, are you talking about "Crystal Reports Viewer 2008" http://www.sap.com/solutions/sapbusinessobjects/sme/reporting/viewer/index.epx
I suggest sending in the report, in the viewer, select "Help" - "General Feedback" and then pick the option to attach the report.  In a couple of months there will be a refresh version of this view which will have Czech language support so it would be good if we could test out your PDF issue.
As for showing parameters in the prompt panel in Crystal Reports Viewer 2008, since the viewer cannot refresh the data, make sure the parameter does not used in the record selection formula but only in the saved data selection formula.

  • Everything works except viewing a report *in* the Report Viewer web part

    Hello!
I'm having an issue with the SharePoint 2007 PIK where the following works fine...
    1. Adding the Document List to the web page and clicking a report to view it in a new browser window
    2. Adding a Document View web part and pointing it to a Document on the BOE server repository views fine in the Doc View web part
However, when I try to use the Crystal Report View web part, click Edit, and Browse to select a report to view, it selects it fine but does not display it. Instead I get this error:
Report cannot be displayed because no report processing server is available. Please try again later or contact your BusinessObjects Enterprise administrator.
It setting up a connection between the Document List and Crystal Report View also gives the same error when a report is selected by the end user.
Any ideas what I can check? Do I have to install the BOEXIR2 web components on this SharePoint server too?
Right now it just has the BOE .NET SDK and SharePoint PIK. The full BOE XI R2 server that I'm calling is on another computer.
    Thanks!
    Horus

Ok, got this to work finally. The virtual directory steps were helpful but I still got broken links on my images.
I tried right clicking the toolbar and report images in the browser and found the URL. Then I just entered that URL in the browser. This helped a bunch since at least I had a new error to research.
    Server Error in '/crystalreportviewers115' Application.
    Configuration Error
Description: An error occurred during the processing of a configuration file required to service this request. Please review the specific error details below and modify your configuration file appropriately.
Parser Error Message: Cannot use 'partitionResolver' unless the mode is 'StateServer' or 'SQLServer'.
Googling this lead me to a tip to add a sessionState key in my X:\Program Files\Business Objects\common\3.5\crystalreportviewers115\web.config file as follows:
    <sessionState mode="SQLServer" timeout="60" allowCustomSqlDatabase="true" partitionResolverType="Microsoft.Office.Server.Administration.SqlSessionStateResolver, Microsoft.Office.Server, Version=12.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c" />
After this my buttons and images worked. I'm not sure if your config is different but as a beginner with this stuff myself hopefully this works for you.

  • Report Viewer VS2012

    Hi,
I need help, the report viewer stopped working recently.
Error message: The base class includes the field 'reportViewer', but its type (Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms.ReportViewer) is not
compatible with the type of control (Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms.ReportViewer).
I'm  not really sure about the versions. Because i'm using the Version 11 of the Microsoft Report Viewer.
    Your help is much appreciated.

    Hi Lebohang,
Based on the error message, it should be the issue of the reference in Visual Studio. In this scenario, We can clean the Visual Studio Solution and rebuild the solution, then go to the Solution Explorer, delete the ReportViewer reference and readd the reference
of version 11. For detail steps, please refer to a similar thread below:

  • Microsoft Help Viewer with VS2015

I have been experimenting with the "F1 Support" feature of the "Microsoft Help Viewer SDK."  My first attempts went very well.  Simply by
setting the "VendorContent" registry key and adding my namespace to the "Partner" registry key, I was able to use F1 and redirect help for all my interfaces, structs, enums etc to my website.  With a bit of PHP work on my website to
parse the string, a redirect sent the request where it needed to go.
    That's the good news.
The bad news came when I tried to press F1 on an interface *method*.  Apparently VS is seeing the interface in this context as another namespace.  And since I had only added a single key for my namespace, VS was not seeing the matching key in the
registry, and was defaulting back to MSDN.  If I add an additional registry key ("namespace.interfacename"), then the methods work correctly too.
This can't be how this is intended to work, can it?  I've got a couple hundred interfaces that I would need to add.  And that's just for my projects.  If other people are using this, there could be thousands of entries in this registry key.
This is particularly painful since "sub" namespaces aren't done with sub registry keys.  *Everything* goes in "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Help\vx.x\Partner".
Tell me I'm missing something here.
    I'm using c# in VS2015 (14.0.22609.0 D14REL) running on Windows 8.
