  • Since upgrading to OS 8.0.2 my ipad2 freezes, slows down, safari takes forever to open, the celluar network goes to No Service and the only way to fix it is to reboot it and this takes longer than before.  Has Microsoft taken over Apple software?

SInce upgrading to OS 8.0.2 my ipad 2 freezes, slows down, safari takes forever to open pages, cellular network goes to No Service requiring a reboot (and this takes longer than before), in summary, I now have a fancy paperweight, i used to love my ipad.  I feel as if Microsoft has taken charge of the Apple Software Division.

Sorry if someone sees this post in a different thread; Just want to get some additional exposure.. Who knows, maybe someone from Apple will take note..
The glitchy, unresponsive, slow and outright crashes are something you would expect in a less superior product.  I paid what I consider a premium because of the perceived integrity of the company and quality of their products. I am not going to go as far to say Apple ***** and so do their products; but they have to to a better job of acknowledging problems and providing recourse.  Right now, it "feels" like they don't care about existing customers.  I am not sure of the exact #'s, but I believe products like the Ipad2 represent a significant population of their existing Ipad product base.
So what is my specific rant; If Apple is going to take a long time, or worst, NOT fix the problems introduced in IOS 8 for IPAD  2, give us the option of going back to IOS 7.  I would say most everyone was extremely happy with their product running under that OS and would migrate back in a heartbeat.  By blocking this option, it feels like Apple is saying that the only recourse is to live with crappy performance, wait forever without any real news, or throw away your Ipad 2 and buy a newer model.  Right now this is 100% completely unacceptable, and I, as will thousands of others, will watch how this unfolds when we do buy new products.  Most technology products only have short, finite lifespan and I would think it is at very least very important to Apple to retain customer base in a highly competitive marketplace.  I'm done...

  • Why has microsoft taken over my computer

every time I want to use either office or excel I cant. cant always be connected to internet was ok till you forced me to up date

    Hi,
I'm not sure what it means by it asks you for internet, for activation or something else?
If you are using Online Services such as OneDrive, Office will need to connect to internet. Sign out from these services and check the result.

  • Freeze, freeze, freeze...Has Microsoft taken over Apple?

I've been on the MAC platform for at least 5 years and love it...until the 10.6 update. OSX has always been VERY stable and never a real problem.
Now all I get is random freezing from “<1-min” to over “5-mins”.
Mouse moves, clock sometime stops, sometimes doesn’t. I can't correlate these internet use, TM backup or any other specific tasks.
    What I've tryed so far:
    - Multiple repair permissions/verify disk
    - Reset PRAM
    - Turned off ISTATs, Tools, TM, MobileMe
    - Reloaded the update using combo download
    - Turned off spotlight
Unfortunately I’ve already used Superduper to BU my disk and don’t have a prior 10.6 BU.
Is my only alternative to reload to prior 10.6 and manually reinstall everything? Which may not be a bad idea since it been many years of upgrades on my MBP.
I am gun shy to upgrade my IMACs and MB since I really believe 10.6 upgrade is the problem…all of these issues started with upgrade. The MBP was wonderful until now.
I see lots of Freeze issues in the forum, many being excused away by 'existing" problem. Since everything has been running great up to the day of upgrade, I'd find that excuse a bit hard to swallow.
I'll erase and start all over(back to 10.6.x if possible) if that's my only or best choice. I hoping for better solution and I see Apple releasing a fix any time soon for this pronblem.

Had 10.5 in message body rather then prior 10.6 release...corrected

I am gun shy to upgrade my IMACs and MB since I really believe 10.6 upgrade is the problem…all of these issues started with upgrade.
Thing is, if it were a problem with the upgrade, there would be more people here complaining, and complaining in a more similar way. When there was a real (and very serious) bug in 10.6.0 and 10.6.1, we saw many hundreds of identical reports. Right now, we're seeing only a few dozen reports that aren't particularly similar.
So, to solve your particular problem, you've started well. I assume that there were no problems when you verified the disk, since you didn't mention having to repair. That rules out one possibility that causes frequent problems with updates - writing thousands of files to a damaged disk.
One thing you didn't mention is [starting up in Safe Mode|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1455]. Does the problem still happen then? After trying in Safe Mode, reboot normally. If the problem comes back, it's very likely to be some third-party software that is not compatible with 10.6.5.
Another thing to try is to create a new user account and do some testing when logged in to that account. If the problem does not occur in that account, then there's something wrong somewhere with a settings file or something in your usual account. (Of course, then you've got to find the problem, which isn't fun.)
Also, it's possible for hardware issues to only appear after an upgrade, so you should run [Apple Hardware Test|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1509] just to make sure there's nothing wrong with the hardware.
If all else fails, try just installing 10.6 right on top of your existing system. This will replace system files without impacting anything else. (Though, make sure your backups are up-to-date, just in case.) Then update everything back to the most recent versions.
If that doesn't work, a clean reinstall is probably your last shot.
Edit: Oh, and you should disconnect all third-party peripherals as well. Sometimes having third-party hardware connected during an update can cause problems.

  • How to install a pre-Microsoft version of Skype?

Ever since Microsoft took over xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Skype with their xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx  media programming and cluttered interface it has been unusable on my WIndows 7 64 bit PC, continually hogging all of my CPU and making the computer freeze and forcing me to restart every time.
Can someone tell me how to install an old version of Skype so I can use this program again?
    Thanks

So .. you would like to install as you say, an earlier version and disable updates, yes, you can (6.14 and above).
Now would you like to install an earlier version, that say does not support the new way Skype works, turn off updates and  ... look at the shortcut (it does not support newer technology and will not work on the current infrastructure, just as old cellphones does not work anymore).
Even if the most fluffy nicest bunny company known to man owned Skype, there would be changes, version retirements, new protocols (h265 comming up soon) and a host of other reasons for changes, even country/regional legislation occationally forces software companies to have to change their products and offcourse patents (Apple had to redo Facetime due to not wanting to pay royalties for a patent).

  • A search engine called DynaSearch has taken over fire fox without my permission

I think My brother has attacked my computer, he found my note book and i now have 160 spam when I had only about ten before, and even an xxx dating service used my daughters name to make me click to their site, saying," Sheila has a message for you". Since then fire fox started crashing every ten minutes, and now it's not crashing because a site called DynaSearch has taking over the usual Google trademark that used to apesr on my page, this is a search engine that has taken over Fire Fox without my permission correct. How do I get Fire Fox back, and get them off.

  • Help!!!!! Incredimail MY START has taken over my computer!!! How do I get rid of it permanently???? Started with latest Firefox Update

Since the latest Firefox, Incredimail My Start has taken over my computer! I do not have Incredimail, I do not want Incredimail. I want to ENTIRELY get rid of it altogether forever. Please give me the instructions. I cannot find it as an add on or a plug in -- I do not know WHAT it is but whatever it is I DO NOT WANT IT ON MY COMPUTER!
Thanks so much in advance! Please hurry! This is driving me crazy. I have set Google as my home page, but every new tap I add, is Incredimail MyStart. I DO NOT WANT IT. This started with the latest Firefox update.

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

[http://windows.microsoft.com/MSE Microsoft Security Essentials] is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.

  • PDF Complete has taken over my printer

I just purchased a Pavilion p6-2127c computer, running Win7, and an HP Photosmart 6510 printer.  Everything has been working great, up until PDF Complete installed.  I don't want to uninstall it, but it's now taken over my default computer such that it is now called "PDF Complete", and anything I try to print, it's trying to turn into a .pdf.  How do I make this stop?  I just want my printer to be my default, plain old 6510 printer.  Help, please.

It sounds like the PDF Complete program has become the default printer.  This can easily be changed as long as the printer is currently installed on the computer.
Click on Change your default printer to view a video and to get steps on how to change the default printer.
Essentially, you will need to do the following steps that are listed in Microsoft's document:
    1.  Go to Start>Devices and Printers
    2.  Right click the printer and select Set as Default Printer.
This should now put the check on your printer instead of PDF Complete.
Alternatively, you can manually select your printer when printing.  I do not recommend this approach as it can be cumbersome, but it can be helpful to know how to when you want to print to something other than the default printer.
When you select print, you should get the following window (photo provided by Microsoft):
You would click on what it is you want to print to.  For example:  If your printer was set to default and you wanted to save it as a PDF, you would select PDF Complete to accomplish this task without changing what the default printer is.
Both of these options will work, but I recommend setting the printer as the default and just choosing PDF Complete manually when you want to save as a PDF instead.

  • My Adobe Programme has taken over my Publisher Files~Help!

My adobe programme has suddenly taken over all of my Microsoft Office Publisher files; renamed them as PDFs, but wont allow me either to open them as PDFs (which I don't want anyway!) or allow me to convert them back to Publisher Files, which is how I want them!
I know I have obviously changed a setting somewhere, but I don't know how or where!
When I uninstalled Adobe I got all my Publisher files back but now, of course, cannot open my PDF files.
I reinstalled Adobe in the hope that it would sort itself out, but it has snatched all my publisher files again!
    Help!
I really have no idea how to resolve this and would be very grateful if any experienced ADOBE person can advise me. Thanks.
    Ken

    Hi Claudio,
    Thanks so much for responding.
My operating system is Windows 7.
I will give what you suggest a try and let you know how I get on.
I really appreciate you taking the time to contact me.
    Kind regards,

  • I am disabled, so I need voice contact with someone in Support. An alien program has taken over Firefox and I can't locate the files to delete front he rogue.

The program that has taken over Firefox is called "inbox." I have disabled its cookies, but now, of course, I can't use the Firefox no matter who had taken it over.
This is serious. I can' find the files with any routine search of my computer files, so they must be hidden.

Do a malware check with some malware scan programs. You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database before doing a scan.

  • Our emails blocked by Microsoft FBLW15 over 1 month now, no contact to Microsoft

    Hi,
We are UK based company and all our emails have been blocked by Microsoft for over 1 month now.
    We are receiving back:
Message could not be delivered to some recipients.
The following recipient(s) could not be reached:
            Recipient: xxx
Reason: Remote SMTP Server Returned:  Service unavailable; Client host [xxx] blocked using FBLW15; To request removal from this list please forward this message to delist... etc
When we have sent delist request, someone from Microsoft sent us back another email, asking more questions.
    Hello ,
Thank you for contacting Microsoft Online Services Technical Support.  This email is in reference to ticket number 1276221567, which was opened in regards to your delisting request for xxx.
We see that the IP address in question has been submitted for delisting within the last 30 days.  In order to process this new request please provide us with the following information:
What caused the spam-like activity from the IP address?
What steps have been taken to prevent the spam-like activity from occurring again?
Please respond to this email with your answers and any questions or concerns you may have.
Thank you again for contacting Microsoft Online Services Technical Support and giving us the opportunity to serve you.
We have replied couple of times, but no reply from Microsoft.
How can we resolve it? We never been sending any spam, our emails are 100% legitimate.
As far as I'm concerned, Microsoft can be liable damages for disrupting legitimate correspondence.
What is the reason for our emails blocked - don't know.
Please help, we are blocked for over 1 month now.

You need to check with the support to get more details and maybe they can provide you more details about the sent e-mails.
It might be that the mails were not sent by one of messaging systems but it can be a virus or a malware program that was sending e--mails from your IP to spam others. I would recommend filtering SMTP traffic to allow only authorized servers and systems to
send mails and to run virus and malware programs identification and removal on your managed systems.

My computer has been infected by a Trojan Horse.  It has taken over my Mac email account and began sending out malicious emails to everyone in my address book.  I cleared out my MAC address book and began using my AOL email account. It took a few days and then my AOL email account was infected and has now been send out malicious email to all my contacts for over a month.  It has also infected my iPhone--I am no longer able to send or receive emails on my iPhone.  Also, once the Trojan Horse began using my AOL email it completely blocked me from using my MAC account by sending never ending popups asking for my email password to access my MAC email account, but it never accepts my pass word.  The TH has also slowed down everything on my computer.  It's like I am working on an old PC with dial up connection instead of the high speed digital connection that I have.  The little color wheel spins constantly as I wait for sometimes over a minute for a page to pull up.  If it pulls up at all.  I have tried to use the 2 disks that came with my computer to completely remove everything on my computer and then reinstall all the programs, but I am not allowed to sweep my computer clean.  I thought maybe my disks that came with my computer were defective so I called Apple and they sent me 2 new disks.  I am not able able to clear my computer with the 2 new disks either.  I have done this before successfully so it's not something new to me.  I do remember when I believe my computer became infected:  I had googled an unusual sewing term, and I was opening what appeared to be legitimate sites, when all of a sudden a pop up appeared that said that my computer had been infected.  I immediately shut my computer off, but it was too late.  I downloaded a virus program for Mac, and it has never found a virus or problem at all.  I think it is part of this Trojan Horse, but I am unable to delete it from my computer.  It refuses to uninstall.  The Mac Trojan Horse is real and it is terrible.  If anyone has any suggestions for me I would be very appreciative,

I have another computer that a virus may have taken over and I cannot log into it anymore.  I just downloaded Itunes on a new computer but most of my songs are not on there.  Is there a way to still access or find those songs?  Remotely or another way?  Or do I need to take it to a tech to get my files off of my hard drive?

Edit > Preferences > Store check Music under Automatic Downloads.
Open the iTunes Store from left hand column, then select Purchasedfrom the column on the right, click the Not In My Library button and select the tunes you want to download again.
That said, you seem to be under a misapprehension as to how iTunes works, or at least how it has worked in the past. It has, until recently, been up to you take care of your purchases once they have been downloaded. You had a one-time download which you were reminded to back up. With the recent change to this policy you can at least download your store purchases again, but having a personal backup of your iTunes store purchases, stuff purchased elsewhere and files ripped from your CDs will still be preferable to gathering all the stuff together again in the event of a disaster.
For a backup strategy see this User Tip.
