Microsoft TTF Fonts package needed for commercial use in portable application

Hello there i am designing an application in java which is based on being a portable application of pdf converter. My design needs to have the ttf Fonts independently present in the application. Is there any way or agreement to buy the Microsoft ttf fonts
package for commercial use. This package should be independent of the being used only on the Microsoft Windows.

Hi Hafsa,
This forum is for questions about "Developing Apps for Office 2013", it is not a suitable place for your question. But I'm not sure where it belongs to. So I move it to [where is this forum for...] where the moderators in this forum may direct
you to the correct forum.
By the way, this link from Microsoft about TTF redistribution and licensing may be helpful to you:

Is it possible to use Apple's fonts for commercial use?
    Thank you very much.

Here's a look at the font agreement section from OS X Mountain Lion:
    E. Fonts. Subject to the terms and conditions of this License, you may use the fonts included with the Apple Software to display and print content while running the Apple Software; however, you may only embed fonts in content if that is permitted by the embedding restrictions accompanying the font in question. These embedding restrictions can be found in the Font Book/Preview/Show Font Info panel.
So basically, you need to examine the fonts to see if there are notes on usage restrictions or limitations.

  • Installed Adobe Fonts free for commercial use

    Hello,
I want to ask if the fonts which will be installed on my system by installing the Creativ-Suite are free for commercial use?
    Does anybody can help me?
    Ralf

It depends on what you mean by “commercial use."  If you plan to create an illustration or piece of art which uses the grass brush to create a grass pattern/texture as part of the image, the answer would be "yes."  If you would like to repackage or distribute a brush as part of another product or application, the answer would be "no."
You can find out more by reading the license agreement for your product, found at http://www.adobe.com/products/eulas.

  • Licensing XML libraries for commercial use...

After reading the license terms for the XML parser for 'C', I am confused. The license document embedded in the download package, says you need to contact Oracle to license the library for commercial use. However, the click-wrap license for the OTN says you can use the technologies in commercial products. These totally contradict each other. I called Oracle and asked the following question, and after talking with 3 people, nobody knew a difinitive answer.
Here is the question: If I use the Oracle XML parser for 'C' library in the construction of a commercial application that I am selling, do I need purchase a license from Oracle to do this? If so, who do I contact?
    Thanks,
    - Ted

It doesn't matter to me as much that the two agreements are different. What I am most concerned with is that BOTH say that I cannot build commercial/for-sale products using the kit without paying for a license. Who do I contact to get a license to use?
I called the number on the agreement and spoke to people who had no idea what I was talking about, nor who I could talk to.
Also, since you asked, I have attached the two different sections from the two license agreements below.
    Thanks,

  • Oracle XE, is it really free for commercial use?

    Hi All,
I have tried to read and understand the licensing terms of Oracle XE.
    Still want to ask experts,
Is it free for commercial use?
If I develop a product and distribute Oracle XE packaged with my product, charging the customer for my product, but not paying anybody for XE, is that legal?
If I want to develop and use a in-house application in XE is that legal as well?
    Thoughts please.
    Thanks in advance

I would start by looking at Oracle information - while we can provide hints and give guidance, Oracle is the only legal source for license information.
My suggestion in general is to use the Oracle site and the Oracle docs, and take a hard copy of that information as backup in case of legal challenges.
That said, the intent for XE is to provide a 'no license fee to put into production' version of Oracle Database Server. It has limited functionality (no Java in DB, limited storage and memory) so it is not generally a worry for Oracle. The supporting references are

  • HP Laserjet1012 only prints Not For Commercial Use

Have HP Laserjet 1012 installed on Dell Latitute E6410 running Windows 7.   Found a You Tube video for setup.  Using port DOT4_001, and HP Laserjet0355 PCL5(Microsoft) driver.
Problem:  whentyou print test page, the printout has a black background and Not For Commercial Use printed on a diagonal in white.
If you open a document to print, it spools to this printer but the message is this Not for Cummercial Use.
    Any ideas???

Perhaps the application you are using (Word?) is generating the watermark; or perhaps a watermark setting in the printer driver settings?
What happens if you try to print a simple text document from NotePad?

  • Premiere Elements for commercial use

Can I use Premiere Elements 12 for commercial use , like videos I make for training modules that I sell?
I looked in the EULA and buried in section 16.14 and 16.15 is reference to non-commercial use due to encoder patents.  But nowhere is a straight forward yes or no for commercial use.
Thanks for anyone that knows about this

    You are most welcome.
Going way back, Adobe once had a restriction on material produced with the academic versions (like Student & Teacher editions) of some of its programs. I do not recall the exact timing, but would say that they relaxed that restriction about 10 years ago.
Also, as Neale points out, the PrE Projects are not X-platform, but if one considers the Mac and the PC, they can output files (from the PrE Project) that ARE X-platform, for delivery. I am not exactly sure how you are referring to X-platform, but if the intent is to edit a Project between a Mac and a PC, then Neale's caveat will be very important. Though the Project file (PREL) looks the same (basically an XML database file), they are significantly different, that a PREL from a Mac, will not Open on a PC. For delivery of a finished AV file (your instructional video, in this case), if one selects say AVCHD (H.264 CODEC) for the output, that file will be viewable on both a Mac and a PC, so long as each computer has a viable version of the H.264 CODEC installed, and most will, or the user can add it. It's the same with most MOV files - so long as the PC has Apple's QuickTime Player installed. When you get to the point of delivery, do not hesitate to stop back, if you need a bit more input from the forum. Some of us have both a Mac and a PC (Steve Grisetti, for instance), but many more are tasked with X-platform delivery quite often.
    Good luck, and happy editing,
    Hunt

  • Student/Teacher edition for commercial use?

I received the student/teacher version of the CS6 Master collection from my school which I am currently enrolled at and I have recently started a production company with some colleagues and will be heavily using Premier Pro, After Effects and other applications for our business. We will be making money for our services so my question is will it be ok for me to use the student/teacher edition or will I need to get a CC subscription for commercial use?
    Thanks!
    Richard

is will it be ok for me to use the student/teacher edition
    Yes.
    Best explained here:
    http://prodesigntools.com/difference-between-adobe-cs5-student-editions-vs-regular.html
"Since Creative Suite 5, all Student and Teacher Editions can be utilized for personal as well as commercial use, for all academic customers worldwide. So yes, you can sell your services or anything you create, or use these products in developing a side business or online venture. And after graduation or completion of coursework, you can continue to use the perpetual software on your personal systems; there is no usage expiration and those tools will continue to work."
    Adobe's version: http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/education-faq.html
"Can I use Student and Teacher Edition products commercially?
Yes, Student and Teacher Edition products can be used commercially on your privately owned computer. They may not be resold."

  • Is it FREE for commercial use?

    Dear all,
Has been using Skype for the past few years, and mostly for my personal usage.
Just to clarify something about Skype Licensing, is it FREE for commercial use? For example, I myself and my current/ex colleagues are using Skype for working related purposes, be it just texting or calls or video calls. Do we need to purchase licenses/subscription for commercial use? For your reference, we're from Malaysia.
Appreciate if anyone there care to explain on this matter.

I would like to use Speech Recognition Control for commercial use. Is it possible?

    Hello deadean,
We suggest that you post your question in the
    Speech Service Forum.
    The
Bing Speech Recognition Control is a separate product from the

  • Education editions for commercial use

I am a full-time student, so I am eligible to purchase an education edition (not student edition, I am aware there is a difference).
I have read on many different websites that education editions can be used for commercial use, but I just want to confirm that this is true in Australia, and is for ANY commercial use - I am starting a business while still a full-time student, so I will have my own ABN and everything.

You can in the US you can't in Europe. I don't know about Australia. You will need to call Adobe Australia.

  • Can i use free VMWare ESXi for commercial use.?

    Hi,
I know that this question have come up before but I can't find any
definitive answers. Can i use free VMWare ESXi for commercial use. We
    would like to host
several customers on a machine running  VMWare ESXi. I want a clear answer so we can do it without any further discussion.
    Thank you all in advance,
    LNN

If you plan on renting out a VM, then you need to look at the hosting programs - http://www.vmware.com/solutions/hosting/index.html.   The base EULA for ESX and ESXi do not allow for the rental of VMs but I believe it may be possible to get an exemption to that.
    http://communities.vmware.com/message/1016993#1016993
VMware grants you a nonexclusive, non-transferable license, without rights to sublicense, to  install or have installed a single instance of the Software and each Licensed Additional Module on a single Server, unless permitted to have multiple instances on a single Server or to have multiple instances on multiple Servers by the payment of applicable license fees (whether such fees are based on a per Processor, a per Virtual Machine, a per user or any other VMware approved licensing model); (ii) use the Software and each Licensed Additional Module solely for information processing and computing purposes, including the hosting of computer application-based services from a Virtual Machine and provision of such services via an internal or external network, provided such services may not consist of services to a third party that provide primarily computing or processing power (such as utility computing or grid computing) or any computer application-based service that is traded, rented, leased or sold on a Virtual Machine basis; and (iii) use and reproduce the VMware Virtual Infrastructure Client Software or VMware WebAccess (in object code form only) for the purposes of installation and operation on an unlimited number of your own internal computers or terminals solely for the purpose of accessing the Server on which the Software is installed.
