Microsoft Update KB2862330 Will Not Install

I am a systems administrator for my organization.  I am been attempting to get Microsoft update KB2862330 to install.  I have run through the information found on Microsoft's site.  Non of this has worked.  I am at a loss.  The
Error code I am getting is E0000100.

Hi,
As I known, this update related to USB drivers. Since the error message is about wrong inf style, let’s try to remove the previous drivers for USB controller in device manager, and restart the computer in Clean boot mode, then install this update manually.

  • Microsoft Update KB2670838 will not allow PDFs to display in Internet Explorer 11 and 10

    HI all,
When upgrading to Internet Explorer 11/10 in Windows 7 Enterprise, there is an update KB2670838. It halts the operations of PDF's into the browser, instead it throws up a blank page with a small box thats crossed and it wont let them show up in Adobe Acrobat/Reader.This update is a requirement for Internet Explorer 11 to install and while wed love to get on the latest version, we just cant with this problem. Internet Explorer 9 displays PDFs in broswer just fine.
We have tried in Adobe to make it so it will not display in broswer by unchecking that option, but it still does not display. reading up on it there is a registry hack that helps alivate this but it is only for Windows 8/8.1.
Any tips/solutions/Help for this would be appreciated for this.
    Thanks!

The solution is http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2716529 but as you write, the "fixit" is only for Windows 8.
To apply it on Windows 7, download, unzip, then run the attached registry script.

  • How can I get rid of a stuck update which will not install or cancel?

I asked for updates to add-ons. One update turned out to be for McAfee Site Advisor. I restarted the computer but after restarting the update shows as "This update will be installed when Firefox is restarted" even though it had just been restarted. I tried restarting again, twice, but there is no change. I tried to cancel the install but clicking on Cancel does nothing. So I cannot install the update and I can't get rid of it. What now? The other updates were OK.
    Firefox 3.6.20, XP Home/SP3.
    Thanks.

If files already have been downloaded then you need to remove the files in the updates and updates\0 folder.<br />
You can delete active-update.xml and updates.xml as well if present.
    C:\Documents and Settings\&lt;user&gt;\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Mozilla Firefox\updates
    (%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Mozilla Firefox)
If there are problems with updating then best is to download the full version and uninstall the currently installed version.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    * Firefox 6.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
    * Uninstall your current Firefox version.
    * Do not remove personal data when you uninstall the current version.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
    * It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

  • What can I do about driver updates that will not install because of an "unknown error".

I have an HP p6530 Pavilion that is taking a while to startup. Not real long but longer then it should. I tried to install driver updates from Intel for the Chipset and RAID but when I download and install it will not finish the install because of an "unknown error" and then setup exits. I could really use advice from anyone that can help.

Have you tried to disable your virus protection and any running programs in the system tray? Turn off any programs that are not necessary before you run the updates.  Make sure you run the updates as administrator (right click on the driver install program and click on run as administrator).

  • I have 11 updates that will not install, how do i install them?

My software update alert shows i have 11 items for install and update, when i choose to intall and update them, my computer will restart but the items are not updated.

    Brute force....
Download the OS X client 10.6.8 combo update or the OS X Server 10.6.8 combo update directly from Apple, install that, and see if the problem clears.    (If you don't know what OS X Server is, you're probably not running it.)
If applying the combo update fails to resolve this, try running a disk verification and a disk permissions repair, then re-try the combo update, and see if the problem clears.
If the above doesn't clear the issues, then you'll want to check the logs using Console.app and see if there are any errors related to why the updates are not being applied.

  • G5 desktop running 10.5.1 keep   getting a message to  update but will not install downloaded update

this power mac will not update from a downloaded software just hangs at about 10 per cent

Backup your data at least twice to two separate media:
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-1992
Shut down and remove that media.
Download and install 10.5.8 combo from here:
    http://support.apple.com/downloads/Mac_OS_X_10_5_8_Combo_Update
Repair permissions from Applications -> Utilities -> Disk Utility -> First Aid, and selecting the hard drive.
You should now be able to use Software Update for any updates that work with 10.5.8 PowerPC.  Any that only work with Intel macs, you'll need a newer Mac.

  • Kindle app stuck on "waiting" during an update. Will not install and cannot be deleted.

Kindle app will not complete the installation process for the latest update (version 3.9.1). Icon is grayed out on home screen with "waiting" listed below it. No x appears when the other apps jiggle so I cannot delete it or uninstall. Have tried rebooting the phone multiple times with no changes. When syncing to computer, Kindle app status changes to "installing" but it remains frozen and grayed out. No problems with wireless connection. Other apps update fine and I have enough space in storage. This have been going on for over a week. Already talked to Amazon-Kindle and their only suggestion was to remove/uninstall the app, which I cannot do. When i search for the Kindle App in the App store, the status always says installing and is grayed out. Thanks for any help or tips!

  • Visual studio 2013 update 4 will not install

I am currently running visual studio 2013 Version 3, and i recently just downloaded the update 4 file.  I've tried installing it multiple times but all it does is show the splash screen and then wink out.  Checked the task processes and its not
running.  I've checked the event log, and nothing interesting in there either.  I copied the file to another machine and it ran fine, so i know the file is good.  I've also downloaded the DVD ISO version of the updater from MSDN, with the same
results.  Am i missing something?  Is there a different way i can debug this to find out why it's not working for me?  Thanks for any help!

  • Updated software will not install

I had a software update from apple so i DLed them. I tried to install them
apple, software update, (shows updates for numbers, iweb, iphoto, keynote, and mac os x)
they all say they are downloaded, i click install, and then it asks for password, then tells me the select restart to get them going. so i click restart and eventually a download bar comes up, it shows the progress go about like 5% and then it just stays there. I thought maybe i wasn't patient enough. So the second time i let it sit there when i went to work, when i came back, same thing. I noticed i needed the update becuase when i try to do the aperture trial it says i need the osx update. can anyone help me?
I've only had a mac for about a year and this is my first problem, so i can't complain, but I am pretty used to NOT having problems

    Hi borla:
It is hard to tell what has happened. You might try running software update again to retrieve the updates again. I mention this in case something went wrong during the download.
I would also run repair permissions from your HD
I would also run repair disk from your software install DVD.
Although I have never had a problem with multiple updates, some people apply them one at a time.

  • Office 7 security updates will not install and can not uninstall Office 7

I am running Office 7 in Windows 7 Home Premium.  I have three security updates that will not install.  I tried to uninstall Office, but the uninstall program stops and says it can not continue.  I have tried putting the Office 7 DVD in
the computer and reinstall Office 7, but install will not run.  I have been working on this for two months.

    Hi,
When referring office 7 do you mean office 2007?
For update issue, windowsupdate.log will give us some clue.
But I think the file is corrupt since you cannot uninstall or reinstall it. Kb 928218 may help us here:
How to uninstall or remove Microsoft Office 2007 suites

Actually, for office issue, post in office forum could be better:

    Hope this helps.

  • MacBook Pro 10.6.8 software updates will not install

I have five software updates that will not install. I have checked my hardware and my disk space and all seem fine. I also, downloaded and installed the Apple Software Installer Update 1.0 but my updates will still not install. Any other suggestions?

Installing the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo will reinstall the App Store for you. Restart your Mac after the combo is installed. It's ok to do this even though you are already running v10.6.8. Then try launching the app.
if that doesn't help, try contacting the developer of the app >  http://support.aspyr.com/home

  • Premiere Elements 9.0.1 Update Will Not Install

I have been getting notices from Adobe Updater on my computer that Premiere Elements 9 needs updating to 9.0.1.  The update consistently fails with the following message:
    Premiere Elements 9.0.1 Updater
There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later. Error Code: U43M1D207
I have also tried downloading a direct update from Adobe's download website.  That also will not install.
This is for a Windows 7 computer.

    Thanks for the follow up.
If the disabling of the antivirus and firewall(s) did not resolve the issue and there are no other security software blocking the install, then let us consider:
    1. Can you create a new user account with administrative privileges and install and run Premiere Elements 9.0 there and then download and install the 9.0.1 Update from the Adobe link (not from its Help Menu/Updates)?
    2. Did you install Premiere Elements 9 from installation disc or installation files from a download?
Depending on the results of other troubleshooting, download and install free tryout of Premiere Elements 9 and insert your purchased serial number in them during installation. Then download and try to install the 9.0.1 Update.

To avoid an Access Denied message, please follow carefully the web site's "Note: Very Important Instructions".
    3. In Device Manager/Network Adapters, do you have any Microsoft adapters in that list?

Any Ideas on how to get the update to install?  I've never had this problem on any prior update.

What exactly do you mean "will not install"; do you get an error message?
