Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 install fails after gathering requirements stage and vanishes.. and hence unable to upgrade Appv Client

Hi Team,
We are trying to install App-V 4.6 SP2 and it fails when installing the prerequisites. It doesnt show any other information on why it fails.
Please assist with this issue at the earliest possible. We will be grateful to you.

You will need to meet the prerequisites before installation will proceed past that point. If Visual C++ is not installing, you may want to try installing it separately before installing App-V 4.6 SP2.

    ran thru the install ok to 100%
    then got this error

    and it says install failed.
    what now?

    It isolated the problem and it is gone. It took about 1 hour of time to go 
    through it all, as I had not done anything like this before. I hope this

    Have you tried to install the package in compatible mode?
    right click the exe, Properties\Compatibility, then run compatibility troubleshooter or choose a compatible mode
    Or have you tried to install the newer package? The reason you want to install Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package in Windows 8?

  • [IDCS3 WIN] Visual Studio 2005 SP1

    Hi Folks,
    Has anyone had success using Visual Studio 2005 SP1 to compile and run CS3 plug-ins?
    I'm having a troubles running ID CS3 plug-ins complied with Visual Studio 2005 SP1 and running under Windows Vista. I know SP1 is not officially supported, but I had it installed. Before I go through the downgrade dance, I would like to know if downgrading has a chance to solve this issue...
    The plug-in runs fine on Windows XP SP2 on the machine on which I compiled the plug-in. The plug-in does not run on a Windows Vista machine on which no compiler is installed.
    So, I have complied the BasicPanel project, and when run on a Windows Vista machine (of which I only have access to one), I get the following error (as seen in the Configure Plug-ins window for the plug-in). Plug-in Information window's Errors section reads:
    LoadLibrary failed. The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log for more detail.
    After reading through a bunch of online information about this error, I'm still as confused as ever (I'm more comfortable with Mac than Windows). It seems like (maybe?) there might be an issue with the dlls that ID has installed versus the ones that my complied plug-ins are interested in. Maybe VS2005 SP1 has newer dlls than are installed in ID CS3 and that's where the trouble lies?
    Can anyone here shed any light on this for me?

    I create plug-ins for InDesign CS2 using Visual Studio C++ 2005 Expres Edition.
    The plug-in runs fine in the computer that the VS C++ 2005 ED is installed.
    But I get this error in computers where there is no VS C++ 2005 ED intalled:(xp sp2)
    LoadLibrary failed. The application has failed to start ...
    Thanks to your posts I come to the solution that installing,
    Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package (x86) on the machine that has no VS C++ 2005 ED intalled, really solved the problem.
    My Question is Has Any one solved the problem without having to install the Redistributable Package.??
    I read something about the manifest but I'm confused.
    Geting VS C++ 2003 really solves the problem, but It's hard for me to find I Licenced copy.

  • XL Reporter - microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Premier Partner Edition

    Hi,
    When I right client a Report Definition and click Edit or Generate Report, I receive a pops up message (title Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Premier Partner Edition) that "The feature you are trying to use is on a CD Rom or other removable disk that is not available'
    I did no installed Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Premier Partner Edition.  So, I have no idea where that comes from, unless, it is supposed to be included in XL Reporter installation in order to run with Patch 36.
    I am using SAP 2005A SP1 Patch 36, XL Reporter Patch 29.  Anyone encounter that?

    Additional info, here is prerequisites before installation of XL :
    1. Your workstation has a minimum of 256 MB RAM (512 MB is recommended).
    2. The processor of your workstation is a Pentium III or higher.
    3. You have installed Microsoft Excel on your workstation. The following versions are supported:
    • Microsoft® Excel 2000 (SP 1 or higher is required.)

    Is there any relation ship between .net framework with VS 2005 ? I think when installing SQL 2005, it is included VS and .net framework.

    Dear All,
    I am working with a client, and as a prerequisite, Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 C Runtime has to be installed on the client's servers in order for one of our products to work. 
    Since at the moment the client do not have this installed on their servers, and the fact that their servers have not been rebooted in a long time, they feel that there is a risk in installing Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 C Runtime if rebooting the server
    is required.
    Could anyone provide me with some insight into the following:
    1. If there is any impact on the OS (Windows 2003 R2) or the IIS (version 6.0) or any other MS products or applications by installing  Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 C Runtime
    2. If any common library will be written into during the installation and what is the impact
    3. If the server has to be rebooted after the installation
    4. What is an appropriate procedure for rollback (is it simply uninstalling “Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 C Runtime” and would a reboot of the server be required after the uninstall, etc.)
    Would anyone be able to provide any insight on the above?

    1. Use reliable backup and preserve return path.
    2. Do pilot test on computer that is not part of your enterprise.
    3. Consider applications that may have different versions of MSC libraries. Here I can se the possible problem.

    Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 is not available for free download and you will have to purchase the software from the vendor. I believe only the express edition is available for download, but this does not help as you need to have the Standard or the Professional edition to make it working with R12.Hi,
    Sorry took me so long to talk to my friends to see if I can borrow MS Visual Studio. Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 is expensive and my friends don't have it.
    Can I use Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Professional for this purpose?
    When I re-install EBS R12, which is the correct path (below) # 1 or # 2?

    *Of course I have contacted the micorsoft support first !*
    *They ask me to try to install the .net framework 3.5, to see if the setup wasn't define as XP compatible.*
    *Then they don't have answer yet and asked me to contact Toshiba support (funny no ?)*
    Also If you look at the microsoft support forum the only installation pbm with Visual Studio with Vista is toshiba laptop satelitte related
    Ok now, as it's my job, here is what I think :
    Maybe the laptop was first setup with XP and maybe Tshiba reseler did install Vista on it as a migration !
    First case
    So to be absolutly sure it wasn't the case I did a format of my HDD and reinstalled vista from the Toshiba Crash and recovery CD
    Second case
    The problem remain, so it is possible that this Recovery CD and/or any other Toshiba product create this problem !!!!
    Note that the C# or J# express just work fine, it's only the Visual Studio 2008 tem suite and pro

    I have a Toshiba Satellite 205 and the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack wants to be updated 5 or more times per day. Why is this happening? I questioned Microsoft about the issue and of course they said it was a Toshiba problem. HELP!!

    When I install Grand theft auto IV true steam as the game requires Visual C + + 2005 but get an

    Sounds more like you may need the redistributable libraries rather than the Visual C++ development environment.
