It is hard to say what is the reason since you haven't provide any error info to us. In order to troubleshoot this issue please paste your error message here or at least show us the screenshot of the error message.
If you haven't got any info, you can navigate to %temp% folder and search for the log like dd_vcredist_x86_20150119121249, this is one of the logs from my side. Then please upload the log to me and I will help you troubleshoot this issue.
You can also search for the error yourself from the log:
For exmaple, if you get 0x80070002 or 0x80070003, this means the package cannot find files and you can redownload the package to install.
If you get 0x80070005 error, this means you don't have proper permissions and you need to run the setup with the Admin account.

IPod software not installed correctly - Please help!

I thought I successfully installed my IPod software and Itunes, however when I go into Itunes the following message appears......
The software required for commuincation with the IPod is not installed correctly.Please reinstall Itunes to install the IPods software
So I have tried to uninstall and reinstall and my computer wont let me do either - when I try to unistall or reinstall the following messages appear......
String Product_Name was not found in string table
OR
Error 0x80040706 Object reference not set - installation terminated

Thanks for getting back to me - I gave up on getting this to work yesterday so Im hoping today will be better. I tried your suggestion of holding down the shift key and it didnt work. I have tried alot of stuff that I found posted in the discussions - I tried doing what you suggested Hewtab do - following the article, IPod appears in Window but not in Itunes. I have shut down my virus software - I even restored my computer back to before I installed Itunes and tried to reinstall it but no go - that made it even worse. When I try to uninstall or reinstall Itunes or the Ipod software it wont let me. - It simply says Product_Name ws not found in string table. IS there anything else I can do? Im about to download winamp and be done with itunes.

(collect.exe).
Run the collect.exe tool from the directory where you saved the tool.
The utility creates a compressed cabinet file of all the VS and .NET logs to %TEMP%\vslogs.cab.
Post the vslogs.cab file with some descriptions of your issue to the forum.

In my point of view, the error of the setup crash may need to check the following:
Verify that you have installed all your Windows Updates
Verify that you have disabled any anti-virus software
Verify that your OS is update to date, for example, if you are using Win 7 please remember to update to Win 7 SP1.

How to connect to oracle database from visual basic 2010 express edition

I have installed visual basic 2010 express edition on windows xp. But visual basic 2010 express edition supports Microsoft sql server database file,Microsoft sql server compact 3.5, Microsoft access database file. I want to connect to oracle database from visual basic 2010 express edition. So what drivers are required and how to do connectivity?

I wasn't clear on what you were using to make the connection. I had a look in Visual Studio 2010 (don't have express to test sorry).
I think you mean the Data Sources available under the menu Data-> Datasources. this seems to match the description you give when I
look at the list of datasource options.
In here you can make ODBC connections via the Microsoft .net Data Provider .
If you select ODBC as a datasource you can see listed the DSN's you created - for example I see 2 which use the Oracle ODBC driver.
This assumes you installed an Oracle Client + the oracle version of the ODBC driver (comes with the oracle client).
Once you created a server connection then you should see it in the server explorer.
You can also download the Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio which is an add on for VS.
** I suspect this is only for VS 2010 and I didn't see that Express was supported.

According to the error message "User cancelled installation" and the log "Process exited with code 1602", it seems that it is you cancelled the installation that cause the install fail. Is that true? If yes, please reinstall
it without cancelling it. You can take the following steps:
Download "Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office Runtime" from
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=42513 .
Run the downloaded vstor_redist.exe with admin.

Installation - RAWS installation - Error " Return Value Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable (x86) : 1603

i'm install agent Backup Exec 2014. but Error Return Value Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable.

If you look on DVD under BE_DVD\BE\WINNT\Install\ you will see that there is a VCREDIST folder with the directories you describe above. This directory contains the latest runtimes required by our RAWS installer. It is the directory we are expecting to find
when we run the install. If you run off of the DVD, we will validate the files are valid before executing the install. This is the recommended method for a clean install.
However, if your goal is to install and have the patches applied during the initial install. If that is what you are attempting, you can drop in the Agents\RAWSx64\Updates or Agents\RAWS32\Updates folder into the RAWS folder on the DVD and it will accomplish
the same thing. We do not test this way, so be wary of that method. It should work but I do have to give that disclaimer.

Installation of Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86) appears to have failed

When installing the PowerDesigner client we receive the message below that a Microsoft Visual C++ package is required. When we select INSTALL, the operation fails due to a higher version already being present on the machine. We continue with the installation and we do not encounter further errors. Can this C++ Redistributable install failure safely be ignored? (We would prefer not to remove a higher version of the Redistributable in order to install an earlier version for PowerDesigner.)

You should be fine. The redistributable should not update a newer installation.

Itunes doesnt install correctly

My iTunes doesnt install correctly, it says i have to reinstall to burn any cds or dvds. Also, my ipod touch isnt recognized. so i investigated a little bit, and after reinstalling & deinstalling a few times through software, i noticed that AMDS is structurally not installed. also the itunes installer performs a rollback at some point in the installation. I dont know where exactly, cos the only info the installer gives is copying files -.-
I have a windows XP, and i have downloaded the newest version of itunes. please help!

After upgrading itunes it says ' itunes was not installed corectly please reinstall so i uninstalled everything apple : bonjour apple application support , quicktime ....., than installed itunes again nothing ! same message i'v tried dowload microsoft.net framework didden't help. After searching on line, it seemed that this was a compatibility issue, and I might need .NET 3.5, which in turn seems to be part of SP2, but my autodownloads failed and the patch for downloading SP2 failed to install also.
Yeah, that'll be our issue. We'd better get you up to SP2 ... without it, you won't be getting any security updates now, so you'll possibly be a wee way behind on that front. (In the grand scheme of things, that's probably the more significant problem.)
Are you able to get SP2 in if you do a manual download of the System readiness tool? There's instructions for that in the Information for Advanced Users section of the following document:

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) (not for XP) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.
