It isolated the problem and it is gone. It took about 1 hour of time to go
through it all, as I had not done anything like this before. I hope this

Microsoft Visual C++ Debug Assertion Failed

Hi all,
A message from Microsoft Visual C ++ debug Library has appeared on my handheld (Treo Pro). From googling this type of message I've discovered that there are possibly some buttons at the bottom saying something like "abort', 'retry' or something else but on the phone screen I can't see the end of of the message to try clicking on a button. Is there some way I can shrink the message so I can see all of it and then try to do something.

It's me back again. I read a few of the messages here and decided to take out the battery - no more message and the program it referred to (SplashID) is functioning as it should. So that's a small problem solved but not the problem of not being able to see the complete message. I'd still like to know if there's a way I could have shrunk the message window. (My device is a Treo Pro tied to Telstra in Australia which may or may not be the same as the Treo 850 something that the drop down menu offered me.

Navigate to Control Panel>Programs>Program and Features.
under Program and Features , locate the option " Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable Package (x64)" and right click on it and uninstall .
If prompted , restart and then uninstall .
Once you had uninstalled Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable Package (x64) .
Click on on the below link and download new Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable Package (x64) ( vcredist (x64).exe file and install the same :

Once you had successfully installed Vcredist_x64.exe , Launch Creative Cloud desktop application and try to install CC apps .

Failed to repair Microsoft Visual C 2012 Redistributable Package (x64) when trying to download Photoshop CC, InDesign CC and Illustrator CC.

So I'm running Windows 8.1 on a laptop and I was installing updates to CS6 modules. It was successful in updating other apps but when I tried to update desktop apps Photoshop CC 2014, Illustrator CC 2014, and InDesign CC 2014 it stopped short saying it had failed to repair Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable Package (x64). You should be fine. The redistributable should not update a newer installation.

Blackberry Link - fails with Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library error - cannot synch/backup

With the latest version of BB Link, under WIndows 8.1, I get a persistent Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library failure, when synching contacts or when doing a regularly schedulded backup. Infrequently, the backup will complete, but it fails 95 % of the time. Worked fine on previously version of BB Link and Windows 8.0.

Well, uninstall that RadLab thing, reboot and see if PSE then works.

Initial install. Logged into Cloud then initiated download. Programs appear to be installed but received those errors. Is this solely affiliated with third party licensing? Is this something that I need to be concerned about?

This can happen if you do not have the VS 2005 C++ Runtimes installed.
Download the VS 2005 C++ runtimes (http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=3387) and install, then run the .NET runtimes installer again.
Login with administrator in the system and perform the below activity.
Re Install the Microsoft Visual Studio
Check the latest patch available from the SAP Market Place www.service.sap.com/swdc
Re Install the Dashboards.

FMLE uses Directshow filters for its audio and video. The problem you are having is that the AVerMedia 7231 Analog Capture is buggy. You can narrow down the problem like this.
1) Run graphedit.exe or a similar graph building program. This application is within the tools of microsoft directshow. However, you can download alternatives on the internet.
2) Add the AVerMedia 7231 Analog Capture filter into the graph.
3) right click and choose properties. Set the device to the lowest settings you can find. mono , 8 bits per sample 11khz . Doesnt really matter, but useful to start small
3) connect its pin to DirectSound or any other windows audio filter you have installed. Alternatively , directshow has a filter named Scope which can draw waveforms. You can use that instead.
4) Run the filter and observe.
5) repeat the test with different settings. Slowly go up until you encounter the crash.
Sorry you have this problem, but often, other than updating the card, you might be out of luck .
