Microsoft wireless display

Microsoft Wireless Display does not connect. The errors are "Can't Connect" and also, something like: "This did not work, try again".  When you search this forum, it says SOLVED.  Who is dumb enough to post SOLVED when there is no solution in anywhere in any of the communication? Does HP just post SOLVED to look good?  Am I missing something? HP Support is silly. They say "We are looking forward to providing you with the most excellent of support experiences ever in the entire universe (and then go on to never solve any problem at all). What is the solution to this problem?  When I have 4 other Windows 8.1 machines, the oldest being 2 years old and all work perfectly, yet the most expensive HP Spectre X360 "Designed with Microsoft" fails, and support has no idea why, nor is there a solution on this forum, is HP asking us to simply return the product?  Any ideas?

Did you ever get a resolution to this? I am seeing the same types of issues, I also tried multiple widi devices.

  • Unternehmenslösung gesucht X1 20A8 mit Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter Probleme

    1 Business Case
Fehlende VGA-Adapter  b.) Niedrige Bildschirmauflösung 1024x768 (XGA) oder 1280x1024 (WXGA).
All o.g.

  • Microsoft Wireless Display won't connect

I just received my HP Spectre x360 Convertible 13 and can not get it to connect to my Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter. Both are brand new. The Spectre sees the adapter, but it errors when it tries to connect.
    This question was solved.

Both are the exact same model. I tried connecting at work yesterday to the one that had worked before and couldn't get it to work. I had to delete it and then readd it to get it to connect.

  • Surface 3 Pro Wireless Display Adapter

    Hello,
I have 2 Surface Pro 3's with Windows 8.1 on both.  I also have the new Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter plugged into my TV.
1 Surface Pro 3 works fine on the Wireless Display Adapter, and 1 doesn't.
For the one that doesn't, I can connect, the screen on the TV says "Connecting to [computer name]", then the TV screen goes black for about 30 seconds.  On the surface, I click Devices, Project, Duplicate, and then I select the MicrosoftDisplayAdapter
and the screen blinks on the Surface for 2 seconds and it appears to lower it's resolution.  Then maybe 30 seconds later it goes back to the normal resolution.
I don't have any firewall, antivirus, or other utilities installed.  There are no errors in the event log.
There are no real troubleshooting steps online I found to help figure out the issue.  Does anyone know how to fix this?
    Thanks.

Please ignore the other responses you received. Go to
    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=38826 and download the
Surface Pro 3 March 2015.msi (not the zip file). Don't run it yet.
Go into device manager and expand the Intel Display Adapter and uninstall the
device. Don't remove the driver at this point. Shut down and start up your SP3.
The driver should reinstall. Try Miracast again. If still broken, go back to
device manager and uninstall the display adapter and this time when prompted,
delete the driver files. Restart. Run the msi installer. Restart. Please report
    back.

  • Question about the Microsoft's Wireless Display Adapter (WDA)

Only one wireless display can be managed via Intel WiDi at a time.

Hello guys, so my boss got a couple of these WDAs for the conference and training rooms to connect laptops to the TVs and projectors via wireless instead of cables, they work really nice and everything but he also asked me to look into connecting a single computer to two of these adapters at the same time (so sort of using two projectors as dual screen with one laptop for example), anybody has any idea about this? Been doing a little research here on my own but no answers so far, was wondering if anybody can shed some light here.
But as far as i know, it's not possible, you will need to disconnect from the one you are currently connected to, then you can connect to the other dongle and vice-versa.
let me know what you guys think.

  • Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 8000 and Leopard/Mac

I wasn't able to get my Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 8000 working under 10.4 but am trying again with Leopard - so far fruitlessly. With the latest version of Intellipoint for Mac (6.2.2) installed, my bluetooth seteup assistant will find the mouse when it's in pairing mode - but when it attempts to pair using an empty passkey it always fails.
    Help please!

I just got this mouse and DID successfully PAIR it with my Macbook.
    I did these steps.
    1. Install Intellipoint 6.2.2
    2. Connect it using the supplied dongle. It should work fine.
    3. After you have tested it with that, remove the dongle and go to set up bluetooth device from the Bluetooth menu option (enable this in system preferences).
    4. On the setup choose Mouse (not Any Device like I saw in some other posts)
    5. Click Continue and while it is searching, press and HOLD the pairing button on the mouse. The battery display should be solid green while you are doing this (not green and red). After a few seconds, the display should say "Microsoft Wireless Laser 8000" mouse is found.
    6. Click Continue, and it will attempt to connect and pair. Again, press and HOLD the pairing button on the mouse while it is doing this. If successful, it should then show up as paired in the bluetooth pref pane (see image below).

  • Does the X1 Carbon have Intel Wireless Display? (Wi-Di, widi)

I need to purchase several 2nd Gen X1 Carbon units, (4th Gen Intel Haswell Core i7 models - I'm thinking of the 20A7002WUS model)
I cannot find anywhere that says that this model has Wi-Di.  (Intel Wireless Display)
The wireless card in the model I'm looking at is the Intel Dual Band Wireless 7260AC and the specs of that card lists Wi-Di as being included. See here:  ark.intel.com/products/75439/Intel-Dual-Band-Wireless-AC-7260
I do find it strange that Lenovo doesn't list Wi-Di anywhere in the specs or product details for the X1 series.  I also know that OEMs customise wireless cards all the time, often disabling certain features.  I've found other forum posts here that suggest that Lenovo has disabled Wi-Di on the Intel wireless card.  I've also found other articles and reviews in various places that suggest that Wi-Di does work but I haven't seen anything conclusive.
So - in short - does the X1 Carbon Core i7 20A7 series have Intel Wireless Display?

The X1 Carbon 20A7 supports WiDi! Although haven't had a chance to try it on mine.

  • T520 Wireless Display Windows 10

I have a T520 equipped with the Intel 6300N Wireless car. In Windows 7 I was able to use WiDi to mirror my PC to my Sharp Aqos LED screen sing a Belkin Screencast Adapter. The upgrade to Windows 10 has removed that capability. Windows 10 does not support Intel WiDi. When I choose Connected Device from my Settings panel, the panel says it sees the Sharp Aquos. But I cannot project onto the screen. Do I need to prchase a Miracast adopter to do this, or am I missing something in the setup? Any help would be greatly appreciated,

From what I can see, WiDi was deprecated in Windows 10. You're apparently supposed to go to Settings > System > Display > Connect to a wireless display now.

  • Connect to wireless display option missing

my surface pro 3 tablet has lost the option to connect to a wireless display. I know right out of the box, it had this option as I was able to do it when I was testing features.  The tablet was then imaged with win 8.1 enterprise and joined to the
domain. It no longer shows the option to connect to wireless display.  Any ideas if win 8.1 ent does not support miracast or if there is another issue I need to address.

    Hi,
Did this issue occur after joining to domain?
I suspect it caused by some domain settings.

  • Wireless Display not working on my HP ProBook 640

    hi,
I have tried so many fixes and spent around 3 hours still the wireless display does now work on my PC.
    PC : HP ProBook 640
    Processor : Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4702MQ CPU @ 2.20 GHz 2.20 GHz
    OS : Windows 8.1 Pro (64-bit)
    Wireless driver : Intel(R) Centrino(R) Advanced-N 6235
    Graphics Adapter : Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600
All configuration seems perfect and supporting Intel WiDi.
But when I went to charm-bar>Devices>Project , I can't see the "Add wireless display"
Please let me know, how to troubleshoot it one by one.

    Hi,
    According to the blog below:
Wireless display is available on most new Windows 8.1 PCs, but some PC manufacturers might choose not to include it on some new and upgraded PCs. Specifically, your PC needs WDDM 1.3 display and NDIS 6.4 Wi-Fi drivers, enabled by the IHV and OEM for Miracast.
If you don’t see “Add a wireless display” when you tap the Device charm and tap Project, try going to Windows Update and downloading all available updates (including optional drivers). If you still don’t see it, check for additional updates
on your PC manufacturer’s support site, or contact them to ask how you can get this feature on your PC.

  • Microsoft wireless mouse?

Hello, I'm trying to set up a new mac mini. Can I use a Microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse with it? It appears to recognize the keyboard and mouse, but once i get to the country-selection page, I cannot pick an entry from the table though I can navigate around. I'd really like to avoid spending another ~$100 on an apple keyboard on mouse. Please help?

They should work, but I consider wireless KB & Mouse unreliable, even if Apple's, I'd try a cheap 3$ USB Mouse & $10 USB KB to get you setup & for emergency use.

  • Microsoft Wireless Mouse Wheel working upside down

I just installed OX 10.7 Lion yesterday.  I have an Intel based Macbook and I use a Microsoft Wireless (non-bluetooth) Laser Mouse with it and ever since I installed Lion the Wheel Button funtion scroll up/down and left/right is backwards (down/up and right/left) from the way it is supposed to.  I tried every setting and switched to another Microsoft Wreless Mouse and it is doing the same thing.  I have updated to the latest version of Microsoft Mouse software but to no avail.  It is very frustrating when I'm scrolling (which I do a lot).  Has anyone else run into this problem.  I've tried everything I can think of to correct this but I have been unsecussful up to this point.

Scroll Direction Is In Track Pad and What I Wrote Its Same. I Just Think Its Easy Way To Explain With Mouse Pref.

  • 40TL938 and Intel WiDi (Wireless Display)

    Hi All,
Recently I've purchased Toshiba 40TL938 TV. As far as I understand it is WiDi capable thus it has WiDi receiver/adapter bulit in and could work as wireless display.
I managed to test the WiDi connection and tried with my Lenovo T420 laptop which is also WiDi capable. I've installed all required updates for gfx and wifi, enabled My Wifi addon and installed Intel WiDi application. That is all required and all went OK.
I've updated software in my TV to latest one available through Wifi update (july 2013)
Unfortunately - no success at all. Lenovo see no TV. Configuration of TV is quite obvious and nothing sophisticated could be done there. TV is able to connect to my wifi network and see T420 over network (because it sees it as network player).
Is there something that I don't understand or doing wrong? Is TL938 WiDi capable because it has WiDi receiver built in or it is just compatible with external WiDi dongles? If the answer is yes for the second question then technical specification for this TV is very wrong - this is not WiDi enabled TV at all and this is misleading.
    Greets,
    Tomek

That doesn't appear to be a US model, and this is the forums for Toshiba USA. You may want to contact Toshiba in your region.
