Microsoft Wireless Laser desktop 6000

I recently purchased the Microsoft Wireless Laser desktop 6000, and so far the only thing I have trouble with is that it doesn't have an eject button. And my G5 doesn't have a pinhole to eject manually, so the only way I can eject my CD drive is to hook up an apple keyboard from my co-workers computer. If anyone can enlighten me on an easier way, I would be most grateful. Maybe I'm overlooking something.

Hello and Welcome to Apple Discussions.
This forum is for feedback for Apple Discussions themselves. In future you should post in a more relevant forum to receive better advice.
Here are two solutions:
Within the Finder go to the View menu and choose Customize Toolbar this allows you to add an Eject button to each Finder window.
Go to Macintosh HD > System > Library > Coreservices > Menu Extras > Eject.menu . Double click this to place an eject menu on the Menu Bar which persists in most applications. (Thanks to Ian Bickerstaffe for this tip!
This can be removed by holding the Command/Apple key and dragging it out of the menu bar.

  • Syncing Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 8000

I was wondering if the Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 8000 could be synced to the Mac with Apple's bluetooth technology. Microsoft has provided a USB bluetooth device, but I was wondering if I could use the Bluetooth Setup Assistant to set up this particular device. Everytime I try, it says "Device not found." I have installed the Microsoft IntelliPoint software that came with the mouse.

You're really asking in the wrong place: iSync is a Mac OS X application used to synchronize contact, event and task information with selected mobile handsets, smartphones and Palm handheld organizers.
Instead, you should post a query in the Bluetooth forum, here.

Hi, I tried all the tricks listed here with no luck, but I think I've finally found the solution.
Try using "any device" option, then, when the assistant tries to pair with the device, there's a button called "passkey options", click it and then select the option "Don't use a passkey".
The mouse will pair successfully. Mine is working great on my iMac.

  • Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 8000 and Leopard/Mac

I wasn't able to get my Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 8000 working under 10.4 but am trying again with Leopard - so far fruitlessly. With the latest version of Intellipoint for Mac (6.2.2) installed, my bluetooth seteup assistant will find the mouse when it's in pairing mode - but when it attempts to pair using an empty passkey it always fails.
    Help please!

I just got this mouse and DID successfully PAIR it with my Macbook.
    I did these steps.
    1. Install Intellipoint 6.2.2
    2. Connect it using the supplied dongle. It should work fine.
    3. After you have tested it with that, remove the dongle and go to set up bluetooth device from the Bluetooth menu option (enable this in system preferences).
    4. On the setup choose Mouse (not Any Device like I saw in some other posts)
    5. Click Continue and while it is searching, press and HOLD the pairing button on the mouse. The battery display should be solid green while you are doing this (not green and red). After a few seconds, the display should say "Microsoft Wireless Laser 8000" mouse is found.
    6. Click Continue, and it will attempt to connect and pair. Again, press and HOLD the pairing button on the mouse while it is doing this. If successful, it should then show up as paired in the bluetooth pref pane (see image below).

  • Does Microsoft Wireless Entertainment Desktop work with built-in BT?

    Hi guys,
I was wondering if the Microsoft Wireless Entertainment Desktop 7000 (keyboard and mouse bluetooth combo) is working with the built-in bluetooth module (Satellite A300-1QM). Any experience anyone? I'd like to know if I have to use the bluetooth dongle (usb) that comes with the wireless desktop or if I can use the built-in Toshiba bluetooth.
    Thanks in advance,
    bedhead.

    Hi guys,
thank you for your replies. I can now confirm that it works with the built-in bluetooth!
    Happy Happy Joy Joy!!
    Cheers,

  • Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 5000

I unwrapped a new MS Wireless Laser Mouse 5000. It appears to have a plastic wrap on the top. Like the cling wrap on some electronic items. It doesn't seem to want to come off. The sides are the same texture as other MS mice. Anyone else seen this plastic cover and tried to remove it? I don't want to damage the surface.
    Thanks,
    - Craig

Found out that it has a slick finish.

  • Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 8000 cannot be paired on Leopard

    Hi,
I could connect my Microsoft WLM 8000 on Leopard but I could not pair it. Everything is working fine, including buttons configuration, except when I have to restart my computer... my BT connection brakes and the mouse stops working. Note: I am not using BT receptor that comes with the mouse.
I have tried to set up bluetooth device using all types of passkey configuration (available on any device option) and did not get success on it - always I receive an error message.
Could someone help me on this matter?
    Thanks

    I've found a band-aid...
    1. Go to system preferences then bluetooth;
    2. Click on advanced button;
    3. Deselect the first option to avoid BT assistant at start-up;
You will need to click 3-4 times until your mouse becomes stable.
I hope somebody finds out a definitive solution.

  • Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 6000

Hey guys... I have the mouse in the title. When using illustrator, after effects, and premiere the mouse lags when scrolling. Aka i have to scroll many times for it to scroll once. This is weird because it works fine and is very sensitive in photoshop and indesign. I tried changing all mouse options, and updating to the newest software.. any ideas?

Might possibly be a conflict with a plug in or corrupt font cache or you need to reset the pefernces. What platform if Windws jacob shuld be around soon to instruct you about reseting the preferences if  a Mac then go to Users/Username/Library/Preferences/Adobe Illustrator CS (#) Settings folder and trash the whole settings folder.
Usually you can just hold dwn the Command Option Shift keys while launching Illustrator but in this case I do not think that alone would work.
You can try it though and on windows I believe the keys are Control Alt Shift but Jacob will correct me if i am wrong.

  • Microsoft wireless keyboard

In a rare lapse of brand loyalty, I bought the "Microsoft Wireless Laser Desktop 6000": "Microsoft Wireless Comfort Keyboard 1.0A" and "M$ Wireless Laser Mouse 6000." ("list price" $99, but after sale price and rebate, it would be just $25) After installing the drivers on the enclosed CD, I surfed around a bit and was reasonably satisfied. I noticed that a few key combos didn't do what I expected, but some stuff said it ws possible to remap key combos.
Then I tried typing something! Everything -- even the delete key came out as "a"s!!
OK, I figured there must be a new improved driver out there on the M$ site, and dowqnloaded and installed that.
Rats! It's still typing only "a"s.
Anyone out there using this product without problems?? Any helpful suggestions??
    FP 1.25 GHz G4 iMac   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

I've been using a MSoft wireless Mac keyboard/mouse with Apple keyboard layout with no problems on my Mac mini. A standard MSoft wireless keyboard/mouse from my PC also worked with no problems except for the lack of Apple specific keys.
It's a good idea to have a wired USB keyboard/mouse available for use when doing system modifications.

  • Mini wont recognize Microsoft keyboard (Wireless Entertainment Desktop 8000

    Hello,
I just purchased a Mac Mini, and tried to connect a Microsoft Wireless Entertainment Desktop 8000 keyboard, one of their most advanced hardware options. The device connects to the Mac Mini via a single USB socket, and controls a wireless mouse and wireless keyboard via Bluetooth.
When I turned the Mac Mini on for the first time, it recognized the mouse, but not the keyboard. After selecting the language, I get a warning that the keyboard is not recognized, then it goes to a page asking me to hit the key next to the left Shift key. But after I hit that key, it just sits there with the message "Identifying your keyboard..."
I checked the Microsoft support site for any information about connecting the Wireless Entertainment Desktop 8000 to Mac equipment, but they don't seem to have any information on that topic. The device works fine with an older Windows XP system, without requiring any special drivers, so it should appear as a regular USB mouse & keyboard to the hardware.
Is there any way to debug the installation of this device at boot-time, before it fails at the auto-detection?
    Thanks,
    TI

Microsoft doesn't offer Mac support for that particular setup. Just XP and Vista support.
I knows that one might think that "Bluetooth is Bluetooth..." - But I have found that that isn't the case.
They do offer setups that are Mac-able. So does Kensington ... and others.

  • Sleep Problem - Microsoft Wireless Mouse

    Hi Folks!
I have a MBP Unibody, summer 2009, and I installed Snow Leopard last week.
My computer won't sleep unless I close the cover. I know what the problem is, it is apparently my Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse, which is plugged into my USB port. Removing the transmitter from the USB port solves the problem.
Anyone know how this problem can be fixed? I like my wireless mouse!
    WJD

I have a very similar problem. I have a 15" MBP March 2009. SL 10.6.1. I have a logitech Optical Mini Mouse, when I close the lid it trys to sleep, once the snoring or breathing led starts dimming, it wakes up and then trys to sleep again in a loop, an endless loop.
I installed the logitech driver 3.1 for OS X 10.6, and that did not help, it behaves the same with and without the driver.
removing the usb dongal solves the problem, and it sleeps just fine.
Also drop down lists in firefox flash quickly and are nearly unusable, but work perfectly once the dongal is removed.

  • Microsoft Wireless Comfort Keyboard

I just installed my new iMac core duo. I am trying to configure my Microsoft Wireless Comfort Desktop and the software will not work. It worked fine on my Mac Mini running 10.4.4. It seems to install fine, but under system preferences when I click on the Microsoft Keyboard option, it says you cannot open microsoft keyboard preferences on this computer. Anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Ken

Preference panes will not work unless they are written for Intel Macs Your only option right now is to wait for Microsfot to write new drivers.

  • Z68A-G43(g3) issues with the Microsoft Wireless Keyboard 6000

    Hello,
we've buils a new PC with the MSI Mainboard Z68A-G43(G3) and the PC hangs on the start with the code 92. We noticed that the issue is caused by some USB device. After many tests we found out that when the MicroSoft Wireless Keyboard 6000 v2 is connected to the computer, it stops to start.
The keyboard is connected through the Microsoft Wireless Desktop Receiver 3.1 to the USB, which is used to connect the mouse as well.
I'd like to use the kb + mouse set, how can I fix the issue.
Also, I tried to update BIOS via the Live Update, and it's not working, the BIOS download fails.
    Any help is welcome.
    Regards,
    Michal

    The BIOS is 4.10.
Also I forgot one note, the KB is working, but only when it's connected alone. When we connect to USB port another device (Flash Drive, USB Wireless, ...) the PC won't start. When the KB is removed, the PC starts without any problem.
Also another note, when the KB was connected and the Zyxel Wireless PCI adapter was connected, PC doesn't start, when KB is disconnected, PC starts.
So there seems to be some issue with the MS device.
    Regards,
    Michal
