Microsoft Wireless Notebook Laser Mouse 6000

I bought one of these for my Macbook: followed the install steps and nothing. No laser light, no control via the mouse. Any ideas?

What version of Microsoft Mouse do you have installed under OS X? I’m using version 6.0, which is a universal binary, on my MBP C2D and it is working perfectly.
The second thing to try is to re-sync the mouse and the receiver. With the receiver plugged in, start the Microsoft Mouse application. Next, press the reset button on the bottom of the receiver. If the software is running correctly, you should see a dialog asking you to press the reset button on the bottom of the mouse. If the re-sync was successful, you will be asked to select your mouse from the pop-up.
I can not comment on Boot Camp directly since I do not use it. My guess would be that you must install the Windows version of Microsoft Mouse and then set up the mouse under windows.

For some reason I cannot get this mouse to work in windows (under bootcamp) or in OS X. It was originally working, but no more. Anyone have some ideas on how to get it working again?

  • MICROSOFT WIRELESS KEYBOARD AND MOUSE

I WAS GIVEN A MICROSOFT WIRELESS KEYBOARD AND MOUSE, WILL IT WORK ON MY PC?

    Hi,
Agree with Lewis, the pairs has been done before out of manufacturer.
For Bluetooth connection of wireless keyboard and mouse, we can follow these steps to pair via passkey.

  • Microsoft Wireless Presenter 8000 mouse and Toshiba Bluetooth Stack

Some of the specific functionalities of this MS Bluetooth Mouse do not work with the latest Toshiba Bluetooth Stack : magnifier, digital ink...
The other functions of this mouse (and the remote controller functions too) work perfectly. The magnifier, digital ink, etc..., are working only if the MS USB controller provided with this bluetooth mouse is plugged in.
Many hardware sites and forums are talking about this problem, ie at the end of this page : http://www.hardware-pacers.com/pages.php?catType=r&pid=352&id=968&pageX=on
Is there a chance to have these functions (magnifier, digital ink...) working with a future release of the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack ? Any idea of a delay ? Or any idea of a tip to have this working today ?

Of course : I have installed the latest version of IntelliPoint software. A mouse/remote as sophisticated as the Wireless Presenter 8000 can't work without its software.
But one more time, I speak about a Bluetooth MS Mouse, and what I don't understand is that a few funtionnalities (magnifier, digital ink) only works with the MS USB plug delivered with the mouse.
What I'd like is to use ALL the functionnalities of my bluetooth mouse with only the bluetooth adapter integrated into my Toshiba Libretto U100.

  • ThinkPad Bluetooth Laser Mouse buttons stop working

I'm back using a USB mouse since my Lenovo Win 8.1 mouse stopped left clicking.
    New batteries and the following:
I have tried a second Lenovo Bluetooth mouse new out of the box with similar results.
And I have done the delete device and add device, uninstall software, reinstall all to no effect.
Am I doomed to having a cable on my desktop or a dongle occupying a USB port?
The problem just seemed to happen in the middle of using the mouse.
I also did a Win Reset without success.

    Hello,
I've been using a Lenovo N700 Mouse with my W530 and while it took a little getting used to compared to my old mouse (Microsoft Wireless Notebook Presenter Mouse 8000), it's working quite well for me.

  • Microsoft wireless mouse?

Hello, I'm trying to set up a new mac mini. Can I use a Microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse with it? It appears to recognize the keyboard and mouse, but once i get to the country-selection page, I cannot pick an entry from the table though I can navigate around. I'd really like to avoid spending another ~$100 on an apple keyboard on mouse. Please help?

They should work, but I consider wireless KB & Mouse unreliable, even if Apple's, I'd try a cheap 3$ USB Mouse & $10 USB KB to get you setup & for emergency use.

  • Microsoft wireless mouse with ipad2

How i can use microsoft wireless leypad and mouse with ipad2?
    Bala

You can't use a mouse with an iPad - it does not have a mouse pointer for a mouse to control as it is a touchscreen device which you use with your finger.
Some Bluetooth keyboards are compatible with the iPad. You would need to contact Microsoft and ask them if the one you have is.

  • Microsoft wireless keyboard

In a rare lapse of brand loyalty, I bought the "Microsoft Wireless Laser Desktop 6000": "Microsoft Wireless Comfort Keyboard 1.0A" and "M$ Wireless Laser Mouse 6000." ("list price" $99, but after sale price and rebate, it would be just $25) After installing the drivers on the enclosed CD, I surfed around a bit and was reasonably satisfied. I noticed that a few key combos didn't do what I expected, but some stuff said it ws possible to remap key combos.
Then I tried typing something! Everything -- even the delete key came out as "a"s!!
OK, I figured there must be a new improved driver out there on the M$ site, and dowqnloaded and installed that.
Rats! It's still typing only "a"s.
Anyone out there using this product without problems?? Any helpful suggestions??

I've been using a MSoft wireless Mac keyboard/mouse with Apple keyboard layout with no problems on my Mac mini. A standard MSoft wireless keyboard/mouse from my PC also worked with no problems except for the lack of Apple specific keys.
It's a good idea to have a wired USB keyboard/mouse available for use when doing system modifications.

  • Windows 8 USB wireless keyboard and mouse?

I have a MacBook Pro 13.3" late 2011 base model running Mac OS X 10.7.4 (Lion). I am planning on installing the Windows 8 Release Preview (64-bit). The requirements state that I need to use a USB keyboard and mouse to get the drivers going once I am in Windows. My question is whether my Microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse, which connect via a USB to my MacBook, will work in Windows 8 with the same functionality so I can run the executable file to download the drivers. Also, as a follow-up question, is Windows 8 Release Preview (64-bit) a safe install for me through Boot Camp?
    Thanks in advance,
    Rith=Apple4Life

Really? Have you installed Windows 8 onto your Mac because in some videos I have watched, I have seen people not being able to use the built-in keyboard and trackpad until the drivers are installed by using the .exe file. Anyway, for backup, I have secured a wired keyboard and mouse just in case and will be installing Windows 8 soon. It would be nice to download the RTM version, but I wouldn't trust any source other than Microsoft itself.
    Thanks,
    Rith=Apple4Life

  • Linksys Wireless Router Conflicting with Wireless Keyboard and Mouse?

I am getting ready to purchase a Linksys Wireless-N Router with a PCI Wireless-N Adapter (2). Will I have a conflit with my Microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse? I have two home computers that I want to set up with a wireless router. Should I use a Linksys Wireless-N Home Router or a Linksys Wireless-N Broadband Router? Which Wireless-N PCI Adapters should I use?

No you should not have a problem with the router conflicting with the wireless keyboard/mouse.  They are on a different frequency all together from the wireless router.

  • Syncing Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 8000

I was wondering if the Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 8000 could be synced to the Mac with Apple's bluetooth technology. Microsoft has provided a USB bluetooth device, but I was wondering if I could use the Bluetooth Setup Assistant to set up this particular device. Everytime I try, it says "Device not found." I have installed the Microsoft IntelliPoint software that came with the mouse.

You're really asking in the wrong place: iSync is a Mac OS X application used to synchronize contact, event and task information with selected mobile handsets, smartphones and Palm handheld organizers.
Instead, you should post a query in the Bluetooth forum, here.

Hi, I tried all the tricks listed here with no luck, but I think I've finally found the solution.
Try using "any device" option, then, when the assistant tries to pair with the device, there's a button called "passkey options", click it and then select the option "Don't use a passkey".
The mouse will pair successfully. Mine is working great on my iMac.

  • Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 8000 and Leopard/Mac

I wasn't able to get my Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 8000 working under 10.4 but am trying again with Leopard - so far fruitlessly. With the latest version of Intellipoint for Mac (6.2.2) installed, my bluetooth seteup assistant will find the mouse when it's in pairing mode - but when it attempts to pair using an empty passkey it always fails.
    Help please!

I just got this mouse and DID successfully PAIR it with my Macbook.
    I did these steps.
    1. Install Intellipoint 6.2.2
    2. Connect it using the supplied dongle. It should work fine.
    3. After you have tested it with that, remove the dongle and go to set up bluetooth device from the Bluetooth menu option (enable this in system preferences).
    4. On the setup choose Mouse (not Any Device like I saw in some other posts)
    5. Click Continue and while it is searching, press and HOLD the pairing button on the mouse. The battery display should be solid green while you are doing this (not green and red). After a few seconds, the display should say "Microsoft Wireless Laser 8000" mouse is found.
    6. Click Continue, and it will attempt to connect and pair. Again, press and HOLD the pairing button on the mouse while it is doing this. If successful, it should then show up as paired in the bluetooth pref pane (see image below).

  • Microsoft Wireless Laser desktop 6000

I recently purchased the Microsoft Wireless Laser desktop 6000, and so far the only thing I have trouble with is that it doesn't have an eject button. And my G5 doesn't have a pinhole to eject manually, so the only way I can eject my CD drive is to hook up an apple keyboard from my co-workers computer. If anyone can enlighten me on an easier way, I would be most grateful. Maybe I'm overlooking something.

Hello and Welcome to Apple Discussions.
This forum is for feedback for Apple Discussions themselves. In future you should post in a more relevant forum to receive better advice.
    Here are two solutions:
Within the Finder go to the View menu and choose Customize Toolbar this allows you to add an Eject button to each Finder window.
Go to Macintosh HD > System > Library > Coreservices > Menu Extras > Eject.menu . Double click this to place an eject menu on the Menu Bar which persists in most applications. (Thanks to Ian Bickerstaffe for this tip!
This can be removed by holding the Command/Apple key and dragging it out of the menu bar.

  • Microsoft 2.4 GHz wireless notebook mouse not working

My old wireless mouse broke & I purchased and downloaded Microsoft 2.4 GHz wireless notebook mouse (with "IntelliPoint 6.3 for Mac" disc). But whenever I put in the mouse, it appears:
    USB Over Current Notice
A USB device is currently drawing too much power.
The hub it is attached to will be deactivated.
What to do? There is not yet Bluetooth on my macbook.

If your computer supports Bluetooth, why not just get a BT mouse. I had a Logitech that worked fine. Then I switched to the BT Mighty Mouse and I think it's the best mouse I've ever owned with the except the fact that it's TOO easy to pick it up backwards due to the fact that its the same width for most of the length.
