Microsoft word can't run because already in use
When I try to use Word it often won't let me continue and gives me the message that "word can't continue because Microsoft Office is already in use."
Just bought this Mac a few weeks ago and Apple transferred Word from existing Mac to this one. Even when we exit Word on the other Mac, this happens. Certainly we should be able to use word on 2 computers at the same time. Anyone know what to do?

No you are Completely Incorrect.
Yes you can use Word on Thousands of computers at the same time if you have Thousands of Licenses for Word.
One License, Use it on only One computer at a Time.

Now, suddenly, I cannot open it, or read/create any files, even though I can see the documents in my folders, and the light under the Icon is lit on the dock. When I open my Applications Folder, Word is shown as in there, but when I clicked on it, I saw the following pop up (error message?): The application Microsoft Word can't be opened - 1712. I have no idea how this happened, but I'm hoping that someone can tell me what to do about it. Any advice will be appreciated.

Follow these instructions to completely remove Apple software

Then use free Ccleaner to repeatly repair your registry until it's fixed.

download iTunes again from Apple.

If you have 64bit Vista or Windows 7, look for the seperate download of iTunes for that further down the page.
Once installed, use the Apple Software Update under your Start Menu to fully update all Apple components.
Your content will remain on the drive in the Music > iTunes Folder, nothing is deleted.
You should be making backups of your content regularly, either through iTunes or via copying the iTunesFolder in your Music folder to a external drive.
Windows is notorious for having "other" issues that make it unstable, we as volunteers helping others can't always resolve those issues. -

I got a message that said something like "iTunes can not run because some required files are missing. reinstall itunes." I tried to reinstall iTunes but I kept getting that message. So, i uninstalled it, and tried to install it again. this did not work. I think that Quicktime is actually what is broken, because iTunes installs fine, but the Quicktime installation failed. When the installation failed, i got a message that said, "Installation failed: error code: -3"
I then tried installing Quicktime with the standalone installer. The installation got further, but it then failed as well, giving the error code -1603.
What can I do to get this reinstalled, and if you can't answer that, how can I contact Apple from Iraq? Thank you.hmmm...that happened to me at one point to, and I'm trying to think back, I believe I was able to uninstall it by using the standalone installer.....

I've been having this problem for 2 weeks now, Every time I tried opening Itunes it would say Itunes can't run because some of its required files are missing. Please reinstall Itunes. Well I've reinstalled it a number of its and it kept giving me the same error message. Then I found a program Revo Uninstaller and I got everything dealing with Itunes and apple off of the computer and then reinstalled it. It worked but once the program was closed it wouldn't open back up and gave me the same error message. Any ideas?

HT1338 this is the message I am getting: The application "Microsoft Word" can't be opened.
I am unable to open my documents... "The application "Microsoft Word" can't be opened. What is going on?
Unfortunately you got caught up in the minor miracle of Rosetta. Originally licensed by Apple when it migrated from the PowerPC CPU platform that it had used from the mid-1990's until the Intel CPU platform in 2006, Rosetta allowed Mac users to continue to use their library of PPC software transparently in emulation.
However, Apple's license to continue to use this technology expired with new releases of OS X commencing with Lion (and now Mountain Lion). While educational efforts have been made over the last 6 years, the fact is that Rosetta was SO successful that many users were caught unaware UNTIL they upgraded to Lion or Mountain Lion.
Workarounds:
1. If your Mac will support it, revert back to your older OS X;
2. If your Mac will support it, either partition your hard drive or add an external hard drive and install Snow Leopard (with Rosetta) to allow for a "dual-boot" system;
3. Upgrade your PowerPC software or use an alternative programs; or
4. The solution I use: Install Snow Leopard (and Rosetta) into Parallels 7 or 8:

If you have Office does Excell or Power Point open? If they do you can perhaps check for updates with either of them: Help > Check for Updates. You can also try to reinstall Office with your installation disks. Don't delete Office, just try to install it again. -
Can I run Windows 8.1 using VirtualBox on my Macbook?
The system requirements for Windows 8.1 says that it needs "Microsoft DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM driver". Can I run Windows 8.1 using VirtualBox on my Macbook? It's a late 2009 model with an NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB graphics card & 2 GB of RAM. (Do I need more RAM?)
Thanks!While I can't answer to the BootCamp specification, I can state the use of Windows and Mac OS X in the MacBook will invite a need to upgrade the RAM; likely to the max it can use. Matching RAM of quality specs so the system will work. The specs are important, as details are everything.
You'd likely use Boot Camp to make a partition on the internal HDD, but then the overall capacity for Mac OS X could be compromised. When you remove a partition, you'd use BootCamp again, or you'd have to erase content in order to restore to original capacity. Disk Utility generally has a harder time with a BootCamp partition.

Can I run a User Query using SDK?
Hi I am new to SDK development.
Can I run a user query using SDK? what I am after is, when the user clicks a button on my screen, I want to run the user query already in the system.
If this can be done, does anyone know how to do this? I have not been able to find a way of doing this so far. appreciate any help here.

I have an additional question to this thread. Does anyone know a way how to run an user query, and how to pass some parameters to it, so the user doesn't have to write them down manually?
For example, I add a button on a Bussines partner form and when this button is clicked, I want a query to be started with parameter %1 = businnes partner's code...
Is there some way how can I do this?

r.exec("java","xyz.class");The best way to run the java application would be to dynamiically load it within the same JVM. Look thru the class "ClassLoader" and the "Class", "Method" etc...clases.
The problem with exec is that it starts another JVM and moreover you dont have the interface where you can throw the Output directly.(indirectly it can be done by openong InputStreams bala blah............). I found this convenient. I am attaching part of my code for easy refernce.

Can not run the test form using servlet (patch 8)
Installed 9I AS 1.0.2.2.1 and forms patch 8 on Windows 2000.
Configured the Forms Listener Servlet by following the white paper "Forms 6i Patch 8: Oracle Forms Listener Servlet for Deployment of Forms on the Internet".
I can get the page titled Forms 6i Listener Servlet using URL: http://myserver/servlet/oracle.forms.servlet.ListenerServlet.
However, I can not run the test form using the servlet by the url:
http://myserver/servlet/f60servlet?config=servlet. In the formsweb.cfg file I also added a section

serverURL=/servlet/oracle.forms/servlet.ListenerServlet
No meaningful error message. At first it seems very slow, and then shows the "The page can not be displayed" page.

New ipad mini face time issue"unable to verify email because already in use"
My daughter had to get a new iPad mini because her battery went out. Now when she tries to face time with the new mini it says "unable to verify email because already in use". Any suggestions on how to correct without having to create. New email address? I'm a novice Apple user. Chrome and Microsoft Word can't be opened!! HELP
I can't open my Google Chrome, the windows are not showing. When I press the chrome icon, there is no pop up and when I right-click it from the dock it says 'Applications is not responding'. What do I do, this happens to my Microsoft word as well?
You know when you open an application or software such as safari or iPhoto, there's that little dot under it on dock. Yeah that, this does not shows to the Chrome and Microsoft Word..
This is really annoying because all my bookmarks are in Chrome and I need M. Word to do my homework.
