Microsoft Word launches automatically when I log in to my iMac

I have reviewed the previous discussions relating to the above issue, yet the solutions provided don't seem to help me out.
Every time that I log on to my mac, Microsoft Word launches. I have checked the options that permit program launches within the account preferences> login items> users. Word isn't listed here and therefore there is no action that I can take to stop this from happening.
Does anyone else have this problem and if so do they have a solution to stop Word from launching at startup?

Are you leaving Word open when you shut down? If so, Resume is starting it up.
Other than that, right-click on the icon in the dock, go to Options, and make sure Open at Login is not checked.

Go to System Preferences>Accounts and then select your account, then startup items, remove Word from the list and reboot, you should be fine then.

Microsoft Word launches automatically at startup

This is an unusual situation. Most people can't get MS Word to launch or it crashes.
I have the opposite. When I log into my MacBook Pro, Microsoft Word for Office 2004 launches automatically. This has just started about a month ago and I've had Office 2004 since 2005.
1. There is no file in "Startup" that would start MS Word
2. I've deleted the MS Word preferences file several times to combat and that hasn't worked
3. I've removed all temp files from the Microsoft folder on my username/home --> Documents --> Microsoft folder
And, I get the following in Console when I log in (an example from July 18th):

Since there are no virus for OS X, I seriously doubt that is what is causing your problem here.
My suggestion open System Preferences then Accounts followed by Login Items. Once there deselect Microsnot Word.

Sure, you can encrypt your document while converting it. However you will have to use your Microsoft office for that.
Please refer to the above screenshot & follow the steps :-
1) Open Microsoft word with your word file.
2) Click on the 'Acrobat' tab on the top.
3) Then choose the Create PDF option form below.
4) A pop up window will appear asking you to save the file as PDF, however before saving the file click on the 'Restrict Editing' option.
5) Again a pop up window will come up on your screen, you can choose for the Encryption method & password protection option in order to secure the document.
6) Once done, Save the file.

ITunes No Longer Launches Automatically When My iPhone Plugs In

So as the subject line says, my iPhone no longer starts iTunes when it is automatically plugged in. It just stopped doing this after I talked to AppleCare to get my MobileMe working (my computer is old so it uses .Mac but it wouldn't load successfully so AppleCare changed some preferences around). Anyway, now when I plug my iPhone in, iPhoto launches but in order to get my phone to perform a backup, I have to manually open iTunes when before both iTunes and iPhoto launched automatically.
Anybody know how I can get it back to launching automatically when I plug my phone in to the computer?

Like the poster "Sig", I have this problem as well.
I checked the Login Items in the preferences and the radio button was checked. So, that's not the case. Nor was I using any iPhone utility either.
Now, I tried all alternate USB ports on my Mac Pro and I also tried plugging into my iMac 20' 2.0Ghz Core 2 Duo. My iPhone is not recognized on either. I think it's something specific to iPhone v3.01 and 3.1 software. Because, I've not upgraded my iMac's iTunes yet. So, I think we can either rule out it being iTunes' fault. That or this iTunesHelper needs is broken... if that is the case.
So, do we have some better solutions to this problem?
PS: Oh, and yes, I did update iTunes to v9.0.1 on my Mac Pro. Still no response.

Right click on a template and choose Get Info. Find the "Open with" section, and change it to Word. Click Change All if you want all templates to be opened in Word by default.

I have the box checked off to launch automatically when I connect my iPhone, but it is not launching automatically. I have to open up iTunes.

From the iTunes menu bar click iTunes / Preferences then select the Devices tab.

But to Stop Launch when your apple device is connected, 1. connect your iPhoneto your computer, 2.Go to the Summary Page, 3. uncheck the box "Open iTunes when this iPhone is connected" and then your good for that device.

If you absolutely must have the Microsoft applications, you can purchase and download them from http://microsoft.com/mac.
Free software suites LibreOffice and OpenOffice offer similar functionality (word processing and spreadsheets).
Or you could do worse than look at Apple's Pages, Numbers and Keynote, which should already be installed in your Mac and can export to Microsoft formats if need be.

Microsoft word stops responding when i open a document

This has been happening on and off for ages, from half a year to a year. I have been trying to open a document for 4 hours now, it opens it and then freezes, i then have to force quit it and start over again. Some times i have left it for a while others i quit it after it stops responding. It is getting ridiculous now, i have also searched for ages on the internet, some problems are unrelated some seem related but the fixes don't work, I need help to get word to stop doing this.
I thought maybe it was because it keeps opening all my previous documents that I had open, i unchecked the box so it doesn't reopen windows and it still freezes but on this document instead. I do not have a clue what to do and I urgently need access to these documents, the documents aren't damaged, i was working on them before, and had this problem with many other documents that also weren't damaged. What should I do? I do not have a clue and it's been a truly annoying problem for a long time now.

Hello, I did as you asked, I hope this isn't too many lines i put. I don't understand any of it and so I don't know what is needed, but this doesn't have over 50 lines so i thought it may be okay. I can't see my name in my log so it seems okay from that point of view. Thanks for your help, this problem has been driving me nuts, i don't know if i've done anything or this is just because of gradual ware and tear as my macbook is the last one they produced. But i wouldn't think its software would have suffered much ware and tear to become that outdated already.
