I have deleted microsoft word by accident! how can i retreive it? do i need to reinstall it and if so which disc should i use? thanks for any help

My Microsoft Word program crashes often!

Ever since I updated to Lion, my microsoft word program crashes, often! More than often and as a PhD student this is becoming incredibly annoying. What Can I do to fix this problem? Do I need to up grade my writing programs, i.e. MS Word and Endnote?

If I erase my hard drive on my MacBook Pro to restore my server, will microsoft word get deleted?

My computer recently has been having issues, I was told to try and reinstall my server after my computer continued to freeze up and dash marks across my screen show up. I was going to erase my hard drive (I already saved all my files and pictures) but I am wondering if there is a way I can do this without microsoft word being deleted. Thanks for your help!!

No, there isn't. You'll need to reload it afterwards, either from backup or from the original source.

Microsoft Office Programs Deleted!

When trying to open a word file today I discovered that my microsoft office programs have deleted themselves. They are not in the folder anymore, however the things that accompany them (dictionary, fonts, clip art) are still in tact. This is super frustrating as i have already used the software a couple of other times and cannot just reinstall it. Does anyone know why this would happen? or how i can get the programs?

Yes you can. You're allowed 3 simultaneous installations, not 3 total.

You should buy MS Office for Mac 2011. It is the only app that is fully compatible with PC MS Office, Word, Excel and the like.

Hello what i am trying to do is i want to have the microsoft word program on my ipod so i can type from there. i want to know if i can get it from my computer to my ipod since i have it on my computer already, i know i cant do it through kindle and i was wondering if and how i could get it from my computer to my ipod touch cause i want to be able to type word docs from my ipod touch

There are various apps out there that let you view and edit Microsoft Office doc.s. (I use QuickOffice) To get the doc. onto your iPod, you can send it as an attachment to your own e-mail address and open the e-mail on your iPod.
Some apps give you a web site where you can upload doc.s too. You just need both your computer and your iPod connected to the internet.

Updated microsoft word 2011 version 14.4.3 and it does not have an "illustrations" grouping or "screen shot" option like 2010 did.

I clicked the update for my microsoft word program that came with my macbook pro when it showed there were updates. Now I have Microsoft Word 2011 Version 14.4.3 It seems to have LESS options that the previous version and is not user friendly.
I can't find help information on line about it either because it is too new? I used the "illustrations" grouping, and " screen shot" options all of the time to create documents to be used in my teaching. Now I can't figure
out how to do that with the new version. It seems they were taken out??????? If that is the case, how do I reverse the update and get my previous version back?

HT201250 Time Machine Solution to Microsoft Word Problem

Can Time Machine be used to remedy a problem with Microsoft word for MAC? Suddenly, any new or revised document in "Word" cannot be saved. Word freezes when I'm trying to save a document. I went into Time Machine and clicked on word to resolve the problem, but it just duplicated what I already saved. Is there any way to get back to where the Microsoft Word Program was using Time Machine? Please help. Another question: If I uninstall and reinstall "word", can I use the same product ID to reinstall the program?

OK - this is solved.
I followed the instructions from the right hand column under "Re: I cannot enter time machine when I press the icon to enter time machine".
Basically it was some sort of disply glitch. Unplugging the Cinema Display and restarting the computer allowed the system to enter the "outer space" view again.
Plugging in the Cinema Display again hasn't recreated the problem.

Microsoft Word and original iMac

hi. my microsoft word is not working anymore on my imac - the original iMac. I have gotten tips in the past on how to fix this but none of them work and I do not have the original CD anymore. i have os 9.2. I have files that I need to access on the imac. I have some knowledge but not a ton on what I need to do here. I would like to know which Microsoft Word program will work with Mac Os 9.2 and how I go about getting more RAM for the iMac.
Also, where do I purchase both? Thanks very much.

What version are you trying to run right now?
I have MS office 2001 and it works great. the previous version, I think it was version 5 worked fine too. I have no idea where you would buy either anymore to be honest. They are old programs at this point.
More ram is perhaps easier to deal with. ramseeker.com or crucial.com can point you to the correct ram.

Microsoft word looks grainy

I have the retina display and my microsoft word program looks grainy. How come? Can this be fixed?

The latset version of MS Office 2011 for Mac, 14.2.5, has added support for Retina. Make certain that you have the latest version installed, via the Help menu in any Office app, and you'll be able to have Retina-quaility in all of your Office apps.

Lost program icons Microsoft word 2008 and Microsoft excel 2008

Hi I accidently turned Microsoft excel 2008 and microsoft word 2008 into wads of trash that disappeared when I accidnetly clicked the icons and moved them from the dock into the internet box. I talked to one person already but can't seem to get back to them and he suggested that I use MIcrosoft Office 2008 but hte problem is is that I don't have it anymore because I deleted the program from my computer a few days ago (yesterday or the day before) I had originally bought hte program from Best Buy and downloaded it from a disc but I can't find the disc anymore. Do you know what I can do to recover the programs I checked the applications, office (of course, and word and excel 2008 aren't there and they aren't in the trash I checked there too. I thought that it might be on my back-up time machine? And I also couldn't go to undo to change what happened. Thank you.

Things just don't disappear. If you didn't put them in the trash, they must be there somewhere. Click the magnifying glass at the top right side of your screen and search for Microsoft Office and see if you can locate the folder. Also, I'm wondering if you actually installed office or if you were just running it from the downloaded .dmg file? When doing the search, keep an eye open for a Microsoft Office 2008 DMG file.

How to delete unwanted microsoft word files...PLEASE!

I would love to know how to delete files in microsoft word that are saved under my documents. The only way I can delete a saved word documsnet is when it has ONLY been saved to the desktop, then I drag it to the trash. When it has been saved to my documents or on the harddrive anywhere, there is no way I can find to delete it. And since I want to clean up my word documents I need to delete the files I no longer use.
Does anyone know how to do this?
I know microsoft word is not an "apple software" but it did come on my mac, and when I had a PC (a compaq) it was easy to delete fiels I no longer used. So I thoguht the best way to get an answer for this would be to contact apple support.

Late post for the archives--another fix:
I'm guessing the problem is trying to use File | Open to bring up a window that shows files, and delete from there. This works in Windows, but not on the Mac (true for any program, not just Word).
On the Mac, you have to delete files from within the Finder (the equivalent of Windows Explorer). Go to the desktop and hit apple-N (cmd-N) to bring up a Finder window. Set it to Column View. Now you can browse to any location on your harddrive and drag a file to the trash.
