    Hi,
For the error message, this problem may occur when the following conditions are true:

    Pdfmaker.dot
    Pdfmaker.xla
    Norton AntiVirus software is installed.
    No full installed
    Please try the following methods:
Method 1: Download the latest version of the add-in for Adobe Acrobat 5.0

    Best regards Ray

If you have Adobe Reader, you (probably) don't have Adobe Acrobat, a
commercial ($$) product. 5.0 is a very old release.
But you can check if the files are there anyway from long ago. See

  • Compile error in hidden module: module starter  (Urgent)

    Hi Experts,
I am trying to logon to my word document template which was working fine before and now i am getting the error compile error in hidden module: module starter any advise or help can be greatly appreciated. I am using word 2010 and OBIEE version 11.1.1.5
    Thanks,
    RC

I was getting same error and able to resolve this problem by following below steps. I have windows 7 and office 2007.
    1. Uninstall BI Publisher. Check if all BI Publisher files are clean-up from your computer. Look for template file under C:\Users\UserID\AppData\Local\Oracle\BIPublisher\TemplateBuilderforWord and C:\Users\UserID\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Word\STARTUP. Recommended cleaning of temp folder under Window directory.
    2.     re-install BI publisher.
    3.     Rename MSComctlLib.exd file to MSComctlLib.exd_bak from “C:\Users\UserID\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Forms” directory. I have windows7, Path will not be same on other OS. Recommend searching for this file.
    4.     Restart MS Word, then click on Add-Ins->Oracle BI Publisher->Log On.
    Hope this will help.

Microsfot Office Word 10 has never been a problem.
Recently purchased a new HP i7 laptop, have had problems since..
Have attempted several online solutions but nothing has worked.

Hello StanleyBogacz. I understand that you're encountering this error when launching Word 2010. Is this correct?
The module it is referring to is an Avery Label Wizard template. Do you have Avery Label Wizard? It is not compatible with Office 2010.  Here is a Microsoft Answers thread on the topic.
In any case, it would be a good idea to remove this template and attempt to use Word again. Follow these directions as this in a hidden folder within Windows.
Click Start, type "C:\users\\appdata\roaming\microsoft\templates" and press Enter.
    Locate the AZWizardModul.
Right click this module and delete it.
Close any Word windows and re-open it.
Verify that the error is no longer there.
The easiest way to find your computer name is to click Start. Then right-click Computer and this will open the System Information window. In the middle area is a section labeled "Computer Name," it will be listed here.
I hope you find this information helpful; have a great day!
Please click the white star under my name to give me Kudos as a way to say "Thanks!"
Click the "Accept as Solution" button if I resolve your issue.

  • Compile error in hidden module: xliff Translator

    Hi All,
I'm new here and finished installing the 10.1.3.3 version. Everything is working fine except the Excel Analyzer.
When I try to open any report with it opens a new excel file with a blank tab named "_remove_me_please" and a window with the message "Compile error in hidden module: Xliff Translator".
    Please advise.
    Thanks
    Valente

The reason this is happening is BI Publisher is pretty much junk. We have been using the same version of the product as you since February 2008 and have experienced endless problems. It is completely embarrassing the IT department. The Excel functionality is the most buggy, but we also have very strong feelings about the Query Builder in the web interface (no numeric aggregation functions!).
For half the users who try to use the Excel Add-in, the 'BI Publisher' menu never even shows up! We all use the most updated version of MS Office 2003 Pro, and a fully updated .NET Framework 2. Right now, I do have the menu in my Excel, but I can't even get the Analyzer to show my report. I get the same result as you, with the empty sheets, one of which is called 'remove_me_please'. I'm sure the report works because I can view the XML data in the web interface using 'Data' output format.
There is another error related to this issue, which might shed some light on the situation for the Oracle developers. If you save the fargled file to disk instead of opening it directly, then open Excel and login to BI, then open the file, you get this error:
'Object variable or With block variable not set'
This may actually be a problem in .NET, as mentioned in the Microsoft knowledge-base article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/316478
In any case, BI Publisher suffers from a terrible lack of diagnostic capability, which wouldn't be an issue if it wasn't so buggy. Have you tried diagnosing problems in your XSLT in your RTF templates? What a freakin' nightmare that is. If you change more than a few form fields and then get an error, you can forget about finding where the error is. That means you must rerun the report after every minute change. Talk about slow development! As much as I like XSLT and XPATH, we completely abandonded showing people how to design reports that way.
I haven't used the old RDF way of reporting, but I think Oracle should have stuck with that. BI Publisher is what happens when a Microsoft wanna-be like Oracle tries to integrate with a Microsoft product like Office. With all the bugs and patches in Microsoft products, there's no way Oracle could keep up with all the different versions and caveats, to keep their products functioning in that environment.
    Sincerely,
    Multiverse

  • Compile Error in Hidden Module:Autoopen

    Hello everybody,
I'm having a very annoying problem:
We have an Excel spreadsheet used by several people on the company. After some update made by Microsoft around December past, whis spreadsheet just won't work anymore and Excel shows the message:
    "Compile Error in Hidden Module:Autoopen"
I tried some solutions found here and there, but no remedy for the problem. The only solution is uninstall the updates from end of Deceber 13 until now.
Can anyone help me, please ?
    Thank you very much !

    Hi,
According to your description, your issue seems related to the Microsoft Office Security Updates for December 2014, I recommend you try the method and check if it is help:
Delete the EXD files, these extender files will be under the user's profile and may also be in other locations, such as the following:
    %appdata%\microsoft\forms
    %temp%\excel8.0
    %temp%\word8.0
    %temp%\PPT11.0
    %temp%\vbe
    More reference:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/the_microsoft_excel_support_team_blog/archive/2014/12/13/forms-controls-stop-working-after-december-2014-updates-.aspx
Microsoft understands the position our customers are in and we are working to find a solution besides a FixIt that can be deployed to remedy the issue. If we have any update, we'll post in the forum. Thanks for your understanding.

It's recommended to download and install

  • Compile error in hidden module: Essbaselogon. This error commonly occurs when code is incompatible with the version, Platform, or architecture of this application

    Hi,
I am getting below wrror while accesing the Ecel:
compile error in hidden module: Essbaselogon. This error commonly occurs when code is incompatible with the version, Platform, or architecture of this application

IIRC essbase is a financial reporting add-in (Hyperion, or something similar?).
This message is telling you that the add-in is not compatible with your current software. You should check with the vendor who provided the essbase add-in. Tell them what version of windows and Excel (and maybe Hyperion) you are using, and get a compatible
    version from them...
If you do not need or run essbase/hyperion/etc then you should just remove/disable the add-in. If it doesn't show in your add-in menu, then you may have to do a repair installation or re-install Excel
