hi,
i don't know how many people use microstation on their macs. i recently got a version of it, microstation se, and i don't know how to install it. when i put in the cd and search for the setup icon, i click it and it just asks me to choose an application to open install.exe. Can i not open a .exe file on this computer? Please help!

GarageBand (4.1.2) only allows 1 software track using Korg MicroStation Plug-in Editor as software sound generator.

I'm using a Korg Microstation with GarageBand (4.1.2,2008), and installed the included plug-in editor to create software-based tracks per instructions. The first (default, grant piano) track allows me to select the Korg Microstation as the sound generator for the track, enabling access to all the Korg sounds: information is properly transmitted and loaded from the Korg into GB. However, no additional tracks can be created in the GB file; attempts to do so trigger the following 2 messages: 1) Failed to load Audio Unit, please contact the manufacturer for an updated version or further assistance. (-10110), followed by: 2) Failed initializing the plug-in. Please check your instrument library and make sure it contains the right factory presets. I've tried just duplicating the first track, but this brings up the same messages. To summarize: I am unable to create more than 1 track in a GB file using the Korg Plug-in editor as the sound generator. I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who' encountered this problem!

Update for GarageBand v6.0.5
I used a Korg Microstation and recorded midi to a track in garageband (made edits, etc) and then output the midi back to the Korg again via the supplied VST.
I then created a real instrument track to record the results from via audio inputs.
The best thing with the Korg Microstation is that you can create Zones on the keyboard to use different instruments.

I need to create a .pdf of a CAD (Microstation) file with a bitmap embedded

every plot driver I have tried will not include the bitmaps (3 of them in the title block of the drawing) in the .pdf.
All of the other elements are created but not the bitmaps. I am using MicroStation V8 XM edition.

Acrobat DC for iOS itself is a PDF viewer that offers the basic functionality (viewing PDF documents, adding annotations, filling out forms, searching, printing, sharing documents, etc.) for free.
To create PDF documents or covert one file format to/from PDF, you would need the Adobe PDF Pack online subscription service.

Unfortunately, there is no direct way to convert an email (in Apple Mail) to PDF on iOS.
Here are some alternatives that I can think of.
Copy and paste the email content to a Word document and convert it to PDF with Adobe PDF Pack.
Take a screenshot of an email on your iPad/iPhone and convert the image to PDF with Adobe PF Pack or other free/paid scan iOS app.
Install the 30-day free trial version of Acrobat Pro DC (desktop app) on your desktop computer and print an email to PDF by choosing Adobe PDF as a printer.

Creating Acrobat 3D files from Microstation - problems

I am using Microstation as my CAD platform. There are a number of ways I can create 3D files from within Microstation, but only one method seems to allow the transfer of the levels used in Microstation. I do this by opening Acrobat 3D, then importing the microstation 3D file. Doing this brings across all the Microstation level info into the model tree. That is perfect, BUT, the model is not rendering properly/fully in Acrobat.
The Microstation file is about 3MB in size and the created pdf file is 7MB in size.
Another method I've used is to export from with Microstation to a "u3d" file format, then import that file into Acrobat 3D. This method and a few others I have tried will import the 3D model, fully rendered without problem, but none of the levels are imported from Microstation. These files are about 1.5MB or less.
The problem is that it is important for my clients to be able to use the model tree to toggle various levels on and off. It is not practical for me to use the 3D Toolkit to group and rename elements to match the Microstation levels.
Can anyone help me here? I'm thinking there must just be a setting I need to toggle on and off somewhere to fix the problem.

Importing Microstation SE DGN files into Adobe Illustrator CS4

Hello,
New to the forum and was hoping someone could help answer what is likely a very basic question: Can Adobe Illustrator CS4 import DGN files (containing point, line, text, shape, fills, cells and other complex elements) created in Microstation SE? If so, is it an easy process, and what if any data is lost during the conversion? Is the original projection and master units/sub units maintained? I am not familiar with any version of Illustrator, so please be kind (lol). Tks for any help!

If you intend to zoom in or pan on your graphic, you might make it say, twice the size of your FCP sequence's pixel dimensions.
If it is static, paste it into the appropriate video template at the size you require.
Illustrator and Photoshop are far better at scaling when compared to Final Cut Pro.
The pixelization is probably because that section of the Timeline needs to be rendered.
This indicated by a colored bar at the top of the Timeline. A green bar indicates that you can view that area but it will not be at full quality until rendered.
Make sure all render options are checked on:
Consider also: your image is rendered to the pixel dimensions of the FCP sequence and the Canvas always shows a lower res proxy image to better enable real time playback. To view the output of Final Cut Pro as it really is, you need an external calibrated monitor or at the very least, an excellent TV.

Microstation J java programming?

Can anybody here help me in programing for Microstation?
I don't seem to be able to get anything going ... even the old HelloWorld thing won't run from the key in. I realise this might be the wrong forum, but don't know where to start looking. Any clues.
I am java certified but not very experienced, could really do with some help on this one.

Acrobat Pro XI v.11.0.06 - PDF created by Microstation Print Organizer - Windows 7 - Printing shaded squares on top of shaded building and not displayed on screen, only displays on paper when printing

I have attached an image of the sheet to show the areas that are shaded. The building is supposed to be shaded, however the two squares within are not. These squares are not in the file converted to pdf and do not display on screen when viewing the pdf. Also there are several sheets in the set with shaded buildings and only two of the buildings have this issue. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

I'm seeing this same problem happen on multiple platforms here in the office. Every time this happens, the screen view does not show these shapes. I have been seeing the same problem except linework will be missing in one of these square shapes as well. Please give feedback if anyone knows what causes this problem. One thing to note - these squares are the size and placement of a selection box within acrobat. For example, if i use the selection tool and click near where the problem printed out, the shaded area that gets selected is in the exact same spot and is the exact size.@

En Acrobat 8.0 una nueva función, adecuada para reunir varios PDFs en un archivo pero manteniendo por separado cada uno de ellos, se llama Package o Paquete, permite ordenar los archivos.

O consultar otras que seguramente existen aunque no todas sean gratis. Seguramente con JavaScript se podría hacer igualmente, el único defecto que veo es que hay que escribir nombres de archivos, por eso una utilidad de arrastrar y soltar o de seleccionar carpetas y que proceda ordenadamente es lo mejor.

No I'm not running it. But please be aware that running Windows on a Mac via Apple's Boot Camp is absolutely no different than running it on any other PC, as Macs are PCs. So if it works on your current PC, it will work on you Mac.

Microst Exchange 'unable to verify'

I am trying to setup my work e-mail on my mail account: I have entered the correct e-mail and password for my account (works on the computer) but it comes up with the message 'unable to verify'?
It then takes me to another screen with the options of:
Email
Server
Domain
Username
Password
Description

I contacted the "IT DEPARTMENT", its really a small buisness with no more knowledge than me on whats happening and they gave me the server address but still i am unable to verify.

Why is my ipod nano 5g always stuck on the apple logo when i turn it on.I have put it n disk mode and repaired it with microst essentials and it says all was fixed but when i restart it it still is stuck on it.Also itunes doesnt reconize it

Did you try rebooting the iPad? You will need to have some battery power for this.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

When login from Mac OS X with Microsoft Remote Desktop, the keyboard layout is always incorrect on the remote.
The client machine have a built-in keyboard of JIS 106 layout,
and the primary language is set to Japanese.
But on the remote, the keyboard layout is US 101.
So a input of Shift+2 does not result " but @.
I've seen the above behavior on the 3 remote enviornments described the above.
This bug did not occcur with Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection Client for Mac 2.1.1, even if the system language is English and keyboard layout is Japanese.

This bug also affects the Canadian English settings. If the client is set to Canadian English with a US keyboard the remote server is setup using a Canadian French keyboard. Using the language selection in the toolbar you can temporarily correct
the problem but the keyboard resets to french at the most inopportune times. The was a problem in the earlier RDP client and was fixed so it's sad to see it reoccur in the new client.
