Mid Macbook Pro 2010 - The screen lid it quite hard to open

Hello,
I bought my macbook pro in August 2010 was my first ever mac purchase however, since I have had it I always find it requires quite a lot of force to open the lid. But when I was in the Apple Store the Macbook Pro's screen lids were easily opened with very little force, I was wondering if this is a defect? Or I could fix the problem, or it might be best to go to the Genius Bar?

You are under warranty. Stop by the Apple store and show the genius your problem.

I'd like to promise you that everything will be fine if you just get the monitor going - but it's hard to know what the hardware damage might be. It might be the monitor, or the damage might be greater.
Your best solution would be visit your local Apple Store and let them know what your situation is. They have access to diagnostics you don't, and they might be able to the best way to save your data and keep you computing. It's still not covered, but they can tell you what your current options are.
Um, you might consider investing in a backup drive.
And there other repair options, too. Powerbook Medic http://www.powerbookmedic.com/xcart1/pages.php?pageid=67 offers reliable repairs, and quotes prices well under Apple's.

I would get it looked at. It sounds like a graphics hardware issue.

When you turn on the computer, does it start properly? Do you hear the startup chime and everything else? If so, there may be a display or GPU problem. First, reset the SMC > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
If you have an external display, connect it to your computer and see if it works. If not, it's a GPU issue. If it works, it's a display issue. In both cases, I recommend you to take it to an Apple Store or reseller

How to fix MacBook Pro when the screen goes completely grey in start up?

This problem has been since yesterday and I need help ASAP please! But my MacBook didn't start up after it had died so I had to power it up with the power button. The problem is the screen with the apple logo emerged with the loading circle but the screen was red! I don't know what that means, but after the screen moves on, it goes to a completely grey screen and doesn't go any futhure. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I saw that it may be because of a faulty wire which my I have been using a USB wire to recharge my phone that might be the reason, but the computer continues to freeze and has troubles starting up. MacBook Pro 2010 - Black Screen of Death / Blue Screen on Windows side

only recently i have been having problems 3/4 times per day with the computer going from working okay to the black screen but still able to see the keyboard lights are on. As nothing happens shutdown needs to be forced by holding down the power-on button.
There appears to be no set list of programs running at the time and shuts down completely at random.
Also while on the Windows side i get the BSOD, and other times while using Excel/Powerpoint they crash when i go to edit text boxes everytime.
I think it might be a RAM issue as i also run Parallels for Windows with Windows 7 ultimate as i need to run some Windows programs.

Computer is just over a year old and this is the first problem i have ever had, Nothing has changed in the power saver settings, and its getting frustrating everytime i go to use it i need to power it on and it always seems that it takes awhile before it finnaly realizes to turn on when pushing the button.

I have a similar question.. 13" macbook pro, mid 2010- having problems with spinning beach ball.. like someone from Mars has taken over the computer..   - the specs are below..   would it help if I added more RAM? The only observations are that the backup drive is deemed too small and the quite long list of diagnostic reports dated between Jan 18, 2015 (which I believe is the day I upgraded to Yosemite) & today the latest Yosemite update was installed on Jan 28, 2015
