The scenario is, I have installed Infrastructure and Middle-tier on both machines.
Em & Infrastructure URl is accessing but Middle-Tier URL is not accessing.
Thanks
Hi,
Have you started the iasconsole?
ORACLE_HOME/bin/emctl start iasconsole
Or have you checked the status of the middle-tier components using opmnctl?
ORACLE_HOME/opmn/bin/opmnctl status

Control without client or middle tier server
Is it possible to remote control/view workstations without having the
client OR a middle tier server set up? We only want to be able to control
our workstations from inside our firewall, so the middle tier server
would not be needed.
Another question, is it also possible to run naldesk the same way to push
applications out to workstations without the client installed (with or
without the middle tier server). Thanks in advance.Desktop4 can use any of the options.
It really is a bit cumbersome to use at the moment, but drop me a note at
my email address of craig_d_wilson at yahoo dot com in about 2 weeks.
I'm in the process of writing a small front-end program for use in
clientless environments. I should have something going by then.
Normally the Workstation Object gives rights to the local SYSTEM account
when the Novell Client is around to access NetWare shares.
In a Windows Domain Environment, you can use the Windows Domain workstation
object to do the same thing.
Otherwise you may have issues accessing system resources when process are
running in System mode.
FYI, you will 100% need a middle-tier server to get your App Objects.
It will not be needed to RC or transfer files, but you will need at least
one mid-tier server.

Middle tier: NT vs. Unix or Linux
Currently, we use WindowsNT on our forms servers. We develop on windows workstations as well. We are considering moving our middle tier onto unix or linux. Shouldn't be a big deal, right? Just recompile the .fmb's on the server.
Are there any gotcha's with this? Do the forms render exactly the same when run from a browser, regardless of the middle tier? If not, what are some differences? I assume additional care would have to be taken with fonts?
Thanks,
BrianBrian,
you have to recompile all .fmb, .mmb and .pll, .rdf will still work unchanged on Unix.
The only problem is case sensitivity on Unix
(especially with library attachments, and don't forget the menu and the gif icons).
Since .fmb's contain the source in plain text, you could have Perl search and replace
for the icon names and the like.
Since Webforms is using java fonts, the
forms look exactly the same on Unix.
For Reports, you might have to work on the
font mapping ($ORACLE_HOME/guicommon6/tk60/admin/uifont.ali) if your printer doesn't support the fonts you are using natively.
Hope that helps.

REPOINT EXISTING MIDDLE TIER TO NEW IM
We have AS Middle tier called M1 which is registered under IM (OID & SSO ) IM1
Now we have another AS Middle Tier called M2 which is registered under IM(OID & SSO ) IM2
M1 -> IM1
M2 -> IM2
Now I want to repoint my middle tier M1 pointing to IM2 instead of IM1 .
So I need new configuration where
M1 should point to IM2
Any Pointers How to do this ?
Regards
Atul KumarAndreas
We are on 10.1.2 & I checked all admin guide but there is no mention anbout this scenario.
Admin Guide talks about moving whole IM from one node to another or migrating Middle Tier when IM is created by replication .
I use Ias console to move IM & it failed while validation getting error message like

Where as server2 is OID server & server23 is middle tier which is attached to another OID & now point to OID on server2 .
I checked password I entered are correct , Is there any Instance password in OID as well ?
I think error is Middle Tier Instance its not able to login to OID in IM2 because its not registered yet .

Applet clients accessing EJB middle-tier
Hello
I am trying to have an Applet access the stateless session EJBs on the middle tier (OC4J 9.0.3)
The applet works fine in the AppletViewer.
However in the IE browser version 5.5, I get java.security.AccessControlException.
Which I can understand because applet is not allowed to open a RMI-IIOP port on the remote server.
What steps do I need to take to allow the applet to open such a connection. Signing jars?, java.poclicy file ?
I know that this setup works fine on JBoss and also on WebSphere. (using certificates)
Is this not suported by OC4J? Does the server need to support something or is it strictly a client side issue?
Any comments will be highly appreciated.
Thanks
vijayWe are having Applet-clients with OC4J and it works fine. We sign all our client-jars (including oc4jclient.jar) and our application has all permissions at the client. Modifying java.policy works as well, but signing Jar-Files is simpler and doesn't need any client-changes.
For normal operations it seems ok to include oc4client.jar for the client application, but we are using JMS and therefore need a lot of classes of oc4j.jar - so I buildt my own deployment-jar out of oc4j.jar.
If you use the cache_archive and cache_version attributes in the html-tag, all the jar-files are only downloaded at application startup if they are changed on the server (und version-numbers are increased). So startup-time is comparable to a local application.

I can not access my company URL from BB while i can access it from any other device. The below message received,
The requiered URL could not be retrieved
Sorry, we couldn't find the web page that you requested. Make sure that you typed the web address correctly, and try again.
Error Code: 10006Hi,
It seems like with every BB Bold it is giving error code 10006. With the curve it is giving 504 gateway timeout. Only th default browser. if you install any other browser on the phone then it can display the site. When I phone my service provider they say my phone software is not working and I ned to bring it in...this is not true for I tested it on about 10 blackberry bolds and none of them display the site. also not the curve or torch.(Torch is also giving the 10006 error code). When I phone my hosting company they say they cant see anything wrong with the setup of the website. So is blackberry blocking the site or what? I dont know what to do anymore. and the client wants this to display on a blackberry.
I see you are from France. Could it be that maybe it does not work in South Africa only? Something on the sa BIS? -
After applying middle tier patch 9593176, form POXPOVPO will not load...
We applied middle tier patch 9593176 to help resolves some of the myriad of forms glitches we are seeing after our upgrade from 11i to 12.1.3.
1. Applied patch 9593176.
2. Regenerated all form files (regenerate/recompile…same thing)
3. Started application using seeded start script ($INST_TOP/apps/edev_ppcm04/admin/scripts/adstrtal.sh)
4. Received warning while running the startup script (log sent to you earlier) which referenced note 397174.1
5. Stopped all processes using seeded stop script
6. Followed instructions on not 397174.1
7. Restarted using seeded start script
8. Did not receive any errors.
9. POXPOVPO freezes now.
Versions:
IBM AIX 64 bit 6.1
Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.3.0 - 64bit
Forms Applet version is : 10.1.2.3
EBS 12.1.3
Anyone else see this or have any ideas?Richard,
I have just applied patch to upgrade from Portal 3.0.9 to 3.0.9.8.1 (Patch applied to loginserver and portal schema) and the External Applications that were previously set up have gone from the portlet.
Does this relate to your note at the bottom:
"Minor issues with Bulk action. 1840420 CUSTOM WRITTEN EXTERNAL AUTH MODULE NEED TO BE UPDATED AFTER 3.0.9 UPGRADE SSOXOID.PKB DOESN'T LOAD.
External authentication modules that were written before 3.0.9 need to be updated after upgrading to 3.0.9. ssoauthx.pks is updated in 3.0.9 and contains additional routines that need to be implemented." ??
If I go to the "Login Server Administration" portlet and select the link "Administer External Applications" I get a list of 5 External Applications that have previously been set up.
If I go back to the Home Page and select "customize" on the "External Applications" portlet I get the message "Your Login Server administrator has not registered any external applications".
Does that mean I should just run 'ssoauthx.pks' & 'ssoxoid.pkb' or do I need to do something else ??
Thanks

Connection timed out when accessing BPEL middle tier
I'm having fits over communicating with a Solaris middle tier PM from the PC JDev during construction, build, and deploy time and just can't make this out. I get a 'connect timed out' message immediately when a reference to the Solaris middle tier PM is made from JDev. Here are some particulars:
1. Connection from JDev and Middle Tier PM test successfully.
2. If I make no reference to the JDev middle tier process and I build and deploy a simple process successfully. It will also test okay.
3. If I try to use the simple process deployed on the Middle Tier PM as a partner link, when I attempt to browse the process when adding the partner link I get the 'Connect timed out' message immediately.
4. If I try to use a schema deployed to the xmllib I get the 'Connect Timed out' message when I attempt to build the process using the schema. (I can pull the same schema up in a browser on the Middle Tier PM).
Why does JDev complain that the connection timed out?
I am using 10.1.2 GA on both JDev and Middle Tier PM (deployed on top of Oracle AS).I discovered a pilot error. Nevermind. I transposed some IP characters in my jdev.conf file for the non-proxy hosts.

Oracle application server middle tier not starting
I installed oracle 10g application server( version 10.1.2) in windows 2003 server.
In the same machine we have infrastucture and middle tier installed.
last 6 months it is working fine.
now i stop all from ias console to stop the middle tier.
in the ias console page it is showing all component is down.
Now when i click on start all it is giving error "all components are already started."
But in the ias console page all component are showing down.
Now if i give stop all then it is showing error all component already stop.
Please let me know where is the problem.
Thanks and Regards,
ParthaYou have Infrastructure and middle tier is running in the same box. please consider the below steps.
Because middle tiers depend on OracleAS Infrastructure services, you need to ensure that the OracleAS Infrastructure services are started first, followed by middle-tier services. You can do this in the following ways:
1.Give the OracleAS Infrastructure an Oracle home name that alphabetically comes before the middle-tier name. (When you restart a computer, Windows typically starts up services in alphabetical order.) For example: name the OracleAS Infrastructure "Infra", and name the middle tier "J2EE".
2.Edit the registry (using the Registry Editor) to delay the start of the middle-tier services by setting up dependencies between the OracleAS Infrastructure and middle-tier services. You do this after installing both OracleAS Infrastructure and middle tier. See Section 16.6, "Service Dependencies" for details.

Hi
I have a problem with java and Jinitiator and my understanding of what is / should be happening.
In the file forms/server/formsweb.cfg see below. I can alter the parameter
baseHTMLjinitiator=basejini.htm
###baseHTMLjinitiator=basejpi.htm
between the two alternatives. As it stands as shown the IE8 on the middle tier and on the database PC both work as near correctly as i can tell. On the Win 7 client IE 8 however crashes. switch it to the other way around and the
win 7 works and the win xp on the database server stops with frm-92095 error version number too low. while on the middle tier Xp PC a blank doucument is displayed.
How can i have both working at the same time please. I you need more information i will happily supply it.

lookAndFeel=oracleYou have a mixture of problems here.
1. Oracle Jinitiator is not supported for use on Windows 7
2. JRE 1.7 is not supported for use with any version of Forms on any platform. Be sure you do not have this version installed.
3. JRE 1.6 is not supported for use with Forms 10.1.2.0.2, however is supported with 10.1.2.3 (10.1.2.0.2 + patch ID 5983622) and only with IE 8
4. In order to use Win 7 with Forms 10 in a certified and supported manner, you must use 10.1.2.3 (meaning 10.1.2.0.2 + patch ID 5983622).
In short, my recommendation would be the following:
o Patch to 10.1.2.3 (assuming you have access to MyOracleSupport)
o Don't bother trying to use Oracle Jinitiator as it is old and has been desupported for a long time.
o Uninstall any instances of Jinitiator as it can cause conflicts with other JRE installations.
o Uninstall all instances of JRE 1.7. Reconfig your formsweb.cfg to use the JRE (Java Plugin) 1.6.0

Change middle-tier IP/Host
I've just installed middle-tier version 10.1.4. My computer have have 2 network interface: one is *192.168.1.2*(LAN address) and the other is *172.16.64.2*(VPN address). I want people on VPN can access to portal builder page via address *172.16.64.2*. However, the entire links of this page are point to the LAN address(i.e 192.168.1.2).
Is there any solution to change from LAN addr to VPN addr? or can we change such that it will point to a domain name instead of a specific ip address.
I've tried this manual but no luck
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_19/core.1012/b13995/host.htm#CIHHDFBFYou can set up a virtual host entry for the VPN address. Pending on which URL your end users would use, they would either access the Portal through the LAN interface or through the VPN interface, pending your network topology. Setup of a virtual host is documented in the [url http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_19/portal.1014/b19305/cg_advnc.htm#sthref363]Portal Administrators Guide.
A few points to make about this however :
<li>I would imagine there are easier solutions. You can resolve the Portal URL to either 192.168.1.2 or 172.16.64.2 pending on which network your client would be connected. I am no DNS expert but this should be doable.
<li>I would not use my Portal server as gateway for both LAN and VPN access. If you would use a dedicated server for this, you could have your Portal running on a single LAN address. This would surely make it easier to administrate your Portal
<li>You have installed Portal 10.1.4 recently. This version will be desupported by Oracle on December 31st, 2011. Do you still want to go live with a version which is about to be desupported?
Thanks,

Recorded Videos after Sync: The requested URL was not found on this server.
A few days ago, i recorded a couple of videos. They were saved properly and i could watch them after it in the Camera Roll of my iPhone. Because my memory was almost full, i connected my iPhone to my MacBook and synchronized about 900 old pictures with iPhoto and selected to delete the pictures after the sync. I did not select the recently recorded videos.
After the sync, i opened the Camera Roll on my iPhone and tried to watch the videos again. But now, they all have a grey icon and it says the duration is 0:00 minutes. When i click on a video, it shows me the following error message:
The requested URL was not found on this server.
When i connect my iPhone to iTunes, it says that there is about 350 MB of "Documents and Data" on my phone that I have no idea where it is coming from. Do you think it is possible that the videos are still saved on my phone but my phone doesn't recognize it as videos and can't assign it to the icons in the Camera Roll? Do you have any tips how I can access the videos in case they are still saved somewhere on my iPhone?
Thank you very much in advance for your help and tips!I have the same problem too!! I was deleting some photos and videos in my phone when the next picture I swiped to was a blank picture with JPG in the middle~ after I closed camera roll and reopened it my photos and videos after that picture are all gone~ and I'm left with 3 videos I took about 30 mins before with 0:00 and when I tried to play them the message popped up saying "requested URL cannot be found on this server" T^T does anyone have a solution to this problem?
