Middleware: changing roles in ECC

Hi everyone,
What is the effect of changing the business partner role in either of the two systems e.g. if the role of a business partner was changed from Applicant to Financial customer in ECC?
I understand that a role in ECC can be mapped to a role in CRM, but is it possible to map two or more roles in ECC to two corresponding roles in CRM ?

mapping of role from CRM to ECC or vice versa involves a simple step that you maintain two persons as BP in both sides so that a single role is mapped accordingly,
the effect of changing the role in ECC to any other role will map the person into the changed role in new system to which data is transferred from ECC.
for mpping of multiple roles in ECC and Crm you need to manitain the multiple persons per BP in two systems as i mentioned in the above rule,that way you can map as many roles you want.

You can actually add multiple users to a role using transaction SU01. From SU01, use the menu Environment->Mass Changes.
Here you can manually add the users, select them by address or authorisation data. Once you have your user list, you can then add or remove roles and/or profiles.
Secondly , You can use SU10 to do mass changes to multiple users including role assignments per logical systems

Role of ECC team

I am new to SAP BI. What is the role of ECC team in a SAP BI Implementation.

Ideally speaking, there is no role of ECC team in BI implementation.
You can go to ECC team in case
- you need help about the data like you need to know the source tables, T-code etc validate data in BI
- there is data load failure because of quality of data, you can get in touch with ECC team to understand if data needs to be corrected or something else is to be done to handle such scenarios
- you can take ECC team's help in creating data in test systems to validate your scenarios
- you need to be in touch with ECC team in cases where changes in ECC may impact BI e.g. changes in COPA, creation of new document types
In another way, you will need help of ECC team to gather some functional knowledge. Other than that there is no role of ECC team for BI implementation but there can be dependency like ECC changes should be moved first and then BI related changes.
You will need help from ECC Basis team in moving DS related transports to production system.

we can change pages/workset/roles sort priority dynamically. But it will affect all users. There only one copy of pages/workset/roles exists.
The work around could be... You can develop a custom application in which you have predefine set of possible values.
example :
role (sort Priority)
1) employee (100)
2) Manager (200)
3) Sales Manager (300)
Create copy of Each role with different sort priority for all roles
for eg.
1) Employee (200)
2) Employee (300).
And in your web dynpro application assign roles according to users choice.
But It would be difficult to maintain roles. Because if you need to perform one change you need to apply them to their copies as well.

Changing Roles in CUA - Using BAPI's

Hi Experts,
My scenario is to Create and Change SYSTEMS and ROLE of parent and children systems in CUA from Oracle .For that
I am using BAPI_USER_LOCACTGROUPS_ASSIGN , I have been testing this BAPI in SAP system itself, But sometimes its working with respect to my input perfectly , and few other times its not , Let me put my issue with Example:
1) User created in SU01 without systems and roles .
2) Using the above BAPI, I can assign 3 Systems(1 parent and 2 child system ) and 3 Roles(1 for each),
3) When i tried to change roles of the child system i can achieve that ,
But in 2nd time when i give only 1 parent and 1 child system with roles, in ACTIVITYGROUPS of a Table parameter in the BAPI,
The role and systems are not get changed .
My ques is :
Is my approach wrong ? then could you tell me the exact behavior of this BAPI with child and parent system?
Note: After i tried in SAP system and also read lot of threads in SAP SDN , i am posting this que .

Can't change role

Hi all !
I have 2 same roles in quality and production system.
When i go in pfcg or suim to change role (F6) i can't delete or add transaction.
I can't change this role in production and quality system.
In quality system this role have distribution to production system.
Maybe a problem because of this?
How i can delete distribution?
How fix this problem?

Hide Role in ECC Easy Menu screen

Majority of our endusers access ESS/MSS functionality via EP using SSO, so do not have visibility of the transaction codes assigned within their respective Abap roles in ECC.
However, a number of users do access ECC, via the Abap gui. The tcode content within their assigned roles are displayed on the Easy Access menu, as a tree structure. As well as viewing their functional access tcodes, they are also able to view their ESS/MSS tcodes.
Question: Is there an easy option to hide the ESS/MSS role content being displayed onto the ECC Easy Access user menu, since most of these tcodes cannot be executed in Abap screen anyway?

Have you considered using the standard menu?
Or create a special area menu for these users and set that to be the starting menu on the user?
My advice would be to not use role based menus since it will complicate a lot of things like training, documentation etc.
It is wise to create an area menu for easy users and set that to be the starting menu of these users.

Restrict users from changing roles

Is there a way to restrict users from changing roles
themselves? If a user goes to My Connections and then clicks Edit,
they could, in theory, change to any group they want--except to the
administrator group because you have to enter a password. If the
admin isn't watching the site 24/7, the user can change their roll,
let's say from a writer to a publisher, and publish something
before the admin can notice.
Is there anything that can be done to restrict that?

You can use connection keys...this will only allow a user to
change their name and email address (I think...I can check on this
tomorrow). We use these at my work and it allows for a lot more
control over who is assigned to the proper groups.

MDG-F 7.0 GL, cost center, profit center change history in ECC

I am working in an MDG-F 7.0 workshop and am primarily working on cost center, profit center and GL account.
I have come to realize that all field attribute changes made to cost center and profit center that are initiated from MDG-F won't be updated in ECC change history tables therefore i loose the ability to look up the change history in ECC but in MDG-F.
However ECC history table is udpated for GL account attribute changes initated from MDG-F.
Do everyone have the same understanding as I do? Please let me know if you see something else.

It is available on Financial Contolling Goverance cost center under Search sub area.
Here you have to select respective object and after searching result you can find there is link with aready existing master data objects.
You can click on the link to open respective object. Here you can edit and change as per your wish

Change my sid ecc to pcc causes problems...

when i am going to change my sid ecc to pcc
then i found a problem
when i up my mmc
start pcc(SID) get an error
get processes list failed 80010105
the server threw an exception.
what can i do

The ONLY supported way to change the SAP SID is to make a system copy (either homogeneous or heterogeneous), so you will have to follow the guidelines given in the respective installations guide and sapnotes!

If i understand your problem correctly, you are trying to change SID.
You got this error while creating service and you mentioned SAPService<TGT SID> as username. Did you create this user in target system (or target system domain, if target system is in domain) and assign all groups manually. If not do it and create service it will start.

Middleware: Change sales order status

Hi,
I am trying to change the status of a sales order within the middleware.
For manupulation of the data I use a custom implementation
of 'CRM_DATAEXCHG_BADI' and there the interface 'CRM_DATAEXCH_R3D_MBDOC_FILL'.
Is interface is called after the MBDOC is filled.
So now I like to change the status of the sales order in that BDOC. I use the table 'STATUS' within the structure ct_bus_trans_msg. This is working fine as long as there is just one action on side of R3, e.g. created delivery for order.
However, when I create a delivery and PGI in R3, I am not able to set the status for my sales order. Worst I do not even see where the status is set by the R3.

Tim, I am wondering what is the origin of the sales order? I assume the order was created in CRM and PGI'd in ECC. If so which version of CRM are you running since tthere can be an issue with the changebility of the order in a different system. Tiest.

Uploading Roles from ECC 6.0 to SCM 5.1 (APO)

We are trying to re-use some roles created in SAP ECC 6.0 in order to be used in a APO(SAP SCM 5.10) system.
We downloaded and uploaded the roles to the target system, although we do not identify any problem in doing that I will like ask the experts if there is something that I should do or not, and if there is something that we have to take into account in doing this.
The roles are only for some activities that are the same in both systems like user administration, authorization administration and other technical stuff that is the same in both systems.
Our goal of course is that every time that we make changes in the source system we will download and upload in order to keep updated the target system.
I would like appreciate your opinion

Well, there could be a difference in objects, customizing switches and patchlevels which could lead to unwanted (and sometimes almost invisble) problems. If there are objects in the roles that do not exist in the target system (or if they're linked to a non-existent object class) you will not be able to see or maintain them in PFCG.
This will also cause problems when transporting these roles through the target landscape.
So I'd suggest you thoroughly compare TOBJ on both systems and make sure these tables are identical for the objects concerned. That should cover technical issues. After that make sure the systems behave the same (customizing etc).

CHANGES MADE IN ECC NOT GETTING REPLICATED TO CRM - CUSTOMER

We are currently working on CRM 4.0 connected to ECC 4.6C.
All the middleware connectivity have been configured and we have a process of creating customers (BP) in CRM which inturn flows to R/3. We dont create customers in R/3 system. Now when i make any changes to the customer in R/3 system i dont find a queue getting generated in SMQ1 in R/3 system and also the changes not getting reflected in CRM system. But any changes made to CRM is flowing to backend R/3 system.
Settings like groupings, number ranges, PIDE etc are configured.
Please let me know how to sove this issue.

The issue lies in the following customizing in your R/3 system:
1) Go to tx SM30 in the R/3 system.
2) Open the view CRMRFCPAR.
3) For CUSTOMER_MAIN and CUSTOMER_REL objects you need to uncheck the 'Discard' checkbox Save.
This will make sure that the delta changes for your Customer Master flow
to the CRM system.

We are using the "Input ready Bex query", in order to modify the values in "BO Analysis office".

From ECC we can load the data (Consider Value-1) to SAP BI and from SAP BI we can load the data to BO analysis office.
So, now if we change the data in BO Analysis office (Value-1 changed to Value-2)..
Now the data is changed in SAP BI to Value-2.
So what about the data in ECC ? Whether it is changed or not?
Please provide us a real time business Scenario..
