Midi signal suddenly died?

It was working fine yesterday. I use MOTU Fastland, connected via USB to my MacBook, Garage Band.  It registers that there are midi inputs, the Fastland shows up in the Audio/midi set-up, but no signal is being transmitted from my keyboard through the Fastland.

I agree...
Before Wifi calling my signal dropped.
When i rang EE they told me to put Wifi calling on too?!
Now with Wifi calling and the booster box ON,   I am getting 1 bar most of the time?
It seems that EE's solutions still haven't rectified anything! and I have told them a few days back. They still haven't got back to me?
No booster, or No Wifi-calling I have no signal, with them both ON I still get no/low signal
Not sure now what to do as tried everything they have told me, as it must be an EE problem? and still no solution as haven't heard anything!
It does seem as if different EE advisors tell you something different in contradiction?
Your post has been good though, so thank you for that - I just need a solution obviously

  • Mainstage 2: Suddenly no midi signal

Im running Mainstage 2.1.3 with Lion 10.7.5
Hardware is: Malletkat Pro (midi keyboard) --> Mbox 2 -->Macbook
The concert is setup and running smoothly when suddenly Mainstage no longer recieves midi signal.  Mainstage is not frozen, it simply stops registering a signal from the keyboard.  Restarting Mainstage fixes the problem.
    Thanks for your help!

Obviously this poses a problem since I want to use the setup in a live concert...
    Thanks!

No, I don't think anyone here would know.
Mine has done that once or twice.

  • GB doesn't allow the midi signal in from my Yamaha p-250 keyboard

I'm using a Yamaha p-250 keyboard with a USB out to connect to my computer. I installed the driver for the p-250. Although the driver appears in the System Preferences it is somehow not getting a midi signal through to Garage Band, even though Garage Band detects a midi device attached. Please help me. Dave

Have you configured your Midi setup with the Audio/Midi Setup utility?
Often not doiong this is the cause of the problem you describe.

  • Imaged computer, now no MIDI signal

I teach in a 23 station Lab and we just installed brand new iMac G5s Intels with 2 gigs RAM on 10.5.6. We had been running the iMac PCs and we took the old computer and imaged to the new computer. We updated Logic and checked the installation of M-audio drivers for the old Radium 61. So, the problem: 5-6 out of the 23 computers don't get a MIDI signal in Logic or in GarageBand. I tried resetting the MIDI driver in Logic, reinstalling the drivers directly onto the computer, I tried swapping out known working keyboards and cables...no luck. Sometimes on some of the computers, I get signal in Logic but then I loose the signal again. NO MIDI in the transport window. Any suggestions?!!! Thanks.. I am geting desperate as I might have to revert to using chalk!

    Hi,
This sounds like bad Midi hardware. Try labelling the known bad ones, and exchanging them with known good ones.
On a personal note, I loathe M-Audio products. Guess you now know why.
Cheers, have fun finding the bad hardware...

  • Logic Pro X doesn't receive midi signals (Logic 9 does)

    Hi,
When I updated to OSX Yosemite 10.10.2 Logic X stopped receiving midi signals from my keyboards and otther midi devices.
    My system is:
    Mac Pro (2010)
3,2 GHz Quad Core Intel Xeon
    Memory 8 GB 1066 MHz DDR3 ECC
The funny thing is that it worked great before the update to Yosemite, and when I run Logic 9 evreything works as norwal in Yosemite. No problem with the MIDI-signals then.
Does anyone know what I can do to fix this.
I am using an Oxygen USB keyboard and a Alesis Control Pad, but there is no signal in Logic X.
Any help would be greatly appreaciated.

SAME PROBLEMS WHITH MY MAC BOOK PRO RETINA DISPLAY!!!
Logic Pro X crashes during the download of the additional content!!!!

same problems whit Main Stage 3 !!!

  • GB won't accept transposed MIDI signal from digital piano

For some reason I can’t get GB to accept transposed MIDI signals from my Previa PX-120 digital piano. The connections are correct, from the piano to my MacBook through an Edirol UA-25 interface, and the signal is getting through fine. If I want to record with the piano in default C, there’s no problem. But if I transpose at the piano, GB continues to play it through the monitor in C (the master track is set up to the correct transposed key). The signal coming from the piano is fine, as I’ve tested from the interface to speakers, and the same thing happens when I feed the signal through a Kurtzweil MicroPiano and do the transposition there - GB goes on reproducing it as default C.
The odd thing is that I had no problem with the same set-up with a Yamaha piano. This is probably irrelevant, but it’s strange.
Any help very gratefully received as this is screwing up recordings with piano, voice and guitar, when the piano player needs to transpose in some keys.

I’ve been asking myself the same question. The Privia manual is silent on the point and I can’t get a reply from their Support, though will try again. Unfortunately I’m no MIDI or sound technician, so know nothing about how transposed MIDI signals should work, but, having run tests again, the piano certainly seems to be sending an untransposed signal via MIDI. At least, when I connect the piano via MIDI to the MicroPiano the signal sent does not transpose (I was wrong in my first post about this), though I can then transpose it with the MicroPiano. This would be fine if all I wanted to do was then send it direct to speakers. But if I send the signal on to the Mac from the MicroPiano via MIDI, it doesn’t transpose either, and I’m back where I started.
In other words, neither the Privia nor the MicroPiano is outputting transposed MIDI signal, only default C signal, and this is the problem rather than GB. Does this make sense?
I’d be very interested to learn what you come up with re your Yamaha. I’ll get a colleague to try the same thing. And will also try Privia support again. But, meanwhile, if anyone else has any experience or knowledge, I’d really appreciate hearing.

  • X-Fi Fatality suddenly died on me

!X-Fi Fatality suddenly died on me? Today I resumed my PC from sleep mode when I got a blue screen. unfortunately I didn't get chance to record the error message.
When I rebooted the PC I had no sound whatsoever. I ran the console application to check for sound levels and it said there was no supported sound card installed!
I checked the device manager and it reported there was no soundcard inside the PC.
I have tried the sound card in another PCI slot but the sound card doesn't show in Windows.
I have also checked power leads etc. The red light comes on as usual. I have inspected the card carefully and nothing seems amiss. What's really wierd is the soundcard appears on the device list after the BIOS POST process just before Windows boots!
    Anyone got any ideas?
    Many thanks in advance!
Here is the spec of My PC:
    Motherboard: Gigabyte X38-DQ6 Bios F8h
Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad E6600 Step: B Rev: G0
    Memory: Corsair Dominator CM2X024-8500C5D x 4
Graphics: BFG Nvidia 8800 Ultra OC 768MB
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit) with all the latest updates
Latest Windows 7 Drivers are installed from the Creative Website.

Had scenario 3 w/ a Fatalty in an Antec case. Turned out that when screwing down the card it would pull out of its PCI socket ever so slightly. Light was still on but the card was nowere to be seen by the OS. Had to bend the bracket a bit and leave out the screw for the card to be fully settled :smileyindifferent: Worked ever since.

  • How connect to device that sends Midi-Signals via USB?

    Hello,
does anybody know how to communicate with a device that sends Midi-Signals via USB? I am working with Windows XP. I would appreciate any kind of hint.

  • Iphone suddenly died

  • My sister's iphone4s suddenly died, refusing to open again

my sister's iphone4s suddenly died, refusing to open again. what should we do?

Have you tried to reset the iphone? Press and hold both the sleep/wake button and the home button for approx 10-15 seconds until the Apple log appears, ignoring the red slider. You should not lose any data doing this although you may need to reset any wallpaper you may have set or rearrange some apps/folders. If that doesn't work have a look at this article and see if this helps http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3281

GoodReaderUSB originally worked by transferring files to a special location on a user’s iPhone, which iPhone’s GoodReader app was able to access. However, accessing this location was a violation of Apple’s iPhone SDK Agreement, because the app had to access files outside its own private storage space, which is forbidden by Apple.
Because of this, your only choice to fix this. at this point, may be to restore your phone as a "new" device in itunes and NOT from backup. Follow this by syncing your content back to your phone. Unfortunately, ALL saved data on your phone will be lost.

  • HT201210 My iPhone suddenly died. Screen is blank. How can I reboot?

My phone suddenly died. Dark screen. Fully charged. Computer doesn't see it when I plug in to sync with iTunes. Just dead. But when someone calls, although the phone doesn't ring, it's like it is still there, as the incoming call doesn't go directly to voicemail as it would if the phone were turned off.

hold down home and power button for 10sec should reboot it
otherwise you need to wait for it to run out of batt in which case it's likely not going to be ok after the reboot as something more sinister would be afault
