MiFi 4510l Set to LTE Only But Switches to 3G Even with Strong Signals

I switched my 4510l to LTE only since it wasn't working properly when set to Global.  It seems to prefer 3G signals when it is in this mode.  Now my problem is the MiFi will switch to 3G even though signals appear to be strong on 4G.  See below.

Currently, the MiFi is on 3G and not switching back to 4G until I reboot it.

If the MiFi is no longer under warranty then the VZW store reps will not likely be able to help you.  You could try your luck but unless we are overlooking something very simple chances are the random store rep is not going to be of much technical assistance.  Store reps are there to sell devices, not fix them.  You wont get far with phone support either after they discover your device is out of warranty.  Although Phone Support should be able to at least confirm the WiFi password for your device so you can rule out that uncertainty.
A store rep is more likely to assist you with replacement options.  Either upgrading your device to the next one in line or considering replacing it all together with a different model at full retail.  I believe the MiFi 5510L retails at 199.00 and is the cheapest one you can buy at the moment without discounts.
I am unfamiliar with re-flashing the 4510 with the current version of firmware.  Its possible the update will not take because it is unable to overwrite the current version.  I would save that option as a last resort incase it goes bad and really bricks the device.
You might want to try connecting to the MiFi on a different computer just to see if it can be done.  That could help us isolate a problem on your current computer as opposed to the MiFi.

    I usually sleep with my phone on charge through the night and I haven't had any problem since, I left my iphone 5 charging last night and in the morning it stated 100% charged so I decided to turn the power off normally (Hold the hold button till it says slide to turn power off) I turned it off and suddenly my iphone went straight to low battery. Although I have been having weird battery percentage changes for example it would stay on 1 % for an hour or so or drain really quickly.
    I have restored it as i thought was the thing to do all it's doing it restoring and still stating low battery and I have charged it for hours +. I can't hard reset it nor restore it NEED HELP PLEASE.

  • Auditing set to "Failure" only but Success 4985 still being logged

    We've configured a domain wide policy to only audit "Failure" events in the Audit Policy.
    This has successfully applied to all our servers but we're finding that Success Event IDs 4985 (The State of a Transaction has changed) are still being logged. It does seem to be only this event ID which is being logged.
    I believe that this event comes under Audit Object Access, but cannot understand why these "success" events are still being logged when this audit setting is definitely set to "failure".

    Here is my understanding: You would like to only log Failure events in Event log. However even with all Success options unchecked in Audit policy, Audit Success (event 4985) still exists in Event Viewer.
    For the event 4985, it is triggered by the Transactional NTFS (TxF), when the file state is changed.

    You may want to try resetting and, if necessary, restoring your iPhone.

    If the device remains unresponsive or does not turn on (or power on), try resetting
    Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds.
    If there is no video, verify that the device has enough charge to turn on
    If you are using an iPad, ensure that it's connected to the 10W USB Power Adapter.
    Let charge for at least twenty minutes, then see if it starts normally.
    If there is no image on the screen, press the Home button to attempt to wake the device.
    If the screen displays a red battery icon, let the device to continue to charge until it turns on.
    If the above steps do not resolve the issue, or the if the screen remains black or shows a persistent Apple logo, try restoring with iTunes
    Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.
    If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane. Learn more about restoring iOS software.
    If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try to force the device into recovery mode.

  • Anyconnect fails to connect with a message that it tried to set a specific MTU but it was already enabled with a different MTU - (SOLVED)

    Cisco Anyconnect 3.1.05160 fails to setup the VPN tunnel, it prompts with this message:
    "The VPN client driver encountered an error. Please restart your computer or device, then try again."
    Authentication and everything seems to go through but it won't work.
    The computer is a brand new HP with Windows 7. I have treid first with some later 2.x Anyconnect with same result.

  • Applications only for root are displayed even with user login

    I am using MBP Pro with OSx 10.7.3. I use admin account. Recently I enabled root account and then disabled it back again. Since then I am seeing applications only for root and not for admin even with admin login. If I go to /Users/<admin username>/Library/Preferences, I can see that the applications has relevant files over there. When I looked more carefully I observed that, I am able to see the applications installed for the root only and not for the admin user. Is there any way to corrrect this?

    Now every time I create a To Do item, it will be created under the category of "Gmail". I do not want that because it uses a different calender other than those I had already created (a new calender was also created under Gmail category in iCal, btw). I didn't find any option to disable it, or is there any?

    Yes they do, but a lot of it is not needed. You can do a full reinstall (not too bad if you just bought your MB) and customize it to remove unwanted languages (I removed all of them - english is default) and any unwanted printer drivers (surely you don't use printers made by all those companies?). You can also remove any unwanted programs such as MS Office trial, maybe you don't use Garageband or iMovie HD for example. This saves a lot of space.
    If you don't want to re-install you can remove the features manually, its just more hassle. To remove the Languages without reinstall, there is a program called Monolingual that will do this - i haven't used it so I don't know how good it is.
    If you ever want to install Windows with bootcamp or parallels, these can eat through your HD space, so removing unwanted features is definitely useful in that case.

  • Ipod 4th or 5th gen only plays music out loud even with headphones in

    So recently my Ipod decided that it only wanted to play music as if there weren't any headphones in it even though i had headphones plugged in. Any ideas or suggestions would be awesome.

    - Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so. There is a little switch in the headphone jack that disconnects the speaker when the headphone jack is inserted.
    Try the following to rule out a software problem
    - Check also Settings > General > Accessibility > Hearing. Make sure that the sound balance is not set all the way to "R".
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
    Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
    least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
    Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
    All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.

    I use "Verizon Jetpack 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot MiFi 4510L".
    Before, I heard "Download/Uplink is 2-5Mbps, All the time, 24/7" from Verizon chat system.
    Therefore, I started use of "Verizon Jetpack 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot MiFi 4510L".
    However, the Uplink speed is 0.5Mbps when I measure the speed.
    Would someone teach me the solution of this problem?
    I want to use Skype(video) to my mother smoothly.

    A typical good 3G connection is 1-2 mbps for download and 1mbps for upload.  For most people those speeds will allow them to do whatever they need on the internet. 
    A typical 4G LTE connection is much better with 10+ mbps for download and 5 mbps on upload.  Your MiFi 4510L is 4G LTE compatible but you must be within range of this network to take advantage of those speeds.
    Check the light on the side of your MiFi.  If it is green then you are 4G, if it is purple/pink then you are 3G.  The best way to get your MiFi to perform at the normal level is to run through the various levels of resets.
    Level 1 Reset:
    Power down the MiFi
    Let the MiFi sit for 30 seconds
    Power on the MiFi
    Test the connection
    Level 2 Reset:
    Power down the MiFi
    Remove the back cover
    Remove the battery
    Remove the SIM card
    Allow the MiFi to sit for 30 seconds
    Reassemble the MiFi
    Test the Connection
    Level 3 Reset
    Power on the MiFi
    Remove the back cover
    Press and hold the Reset button next to the battery for 10 seconds
    Watch the MiFi E-Ink display to see if all the icons are displayed
    Release the Reset button
    Reassemble the MiFi
    Test your connection

  • Jetpack MIFI 4510L

    In November of 2011, I received a advertisement  from Verizon stating that I could upgrade my present Verizon
    Wireless Fivespot which is 3G for a Verizon Jetpack  4G LTE Mobile Hotspot MIFI 4510L free. I made the switch and
    used it in my home in Nebraska for about a month  and a half before going on the road in my motor home heading to
    California for the winter. From the start, I have  had problems with the MIFI disconnecting from the internet.
    Constantly. Access will go from "Local and  Internet" to "Local only" or "Connected with limited connectivity".After
    fiddling with connect/disconnect which sometimes  takes anywhere from a few seconds to a couple minutes, I may
    regain a connection. It is very frustrating when  trying to pay bills on line or fill out forms, etc. When I arrived
    in CA, I went to a Verizon store and eventually got  them to order me a replacement. Same problem. I am now on my
    third replacement (fourth MIFI) and another  replacement is on the way as I write this. I'm a 13 year veteran of
    Alltel/Verizon and have not used any other wireless  service. I asked the rep at Verizon if I could get the latest
    Jetpack 4620L since the 4510L wasn't working. I  thought I had an agreement to get one as a replacement with just an
    extension of the two year agreement, but then I was  told I would have to pay a reduced price for it. I didn't go
    for it, so now a 4510L replacement is on the way.  Another problem with this device is the constant switching
    between 4G and 3G. I've been parked in the Monterey  Elks Lodge parking lot since Dec 26th and the light blinks
    green when 4G and purple when 3G. It goes back and  forth continuously. At one time or the other, all devices that I
    have had have had the firmware upgraded at the  store and at least two sim cards replaced. Two trouble tickets were
    issued, the first lost and I've not been contacted  about the second one although it's been a couple weeks since the
    second ticket was issued. There seems to be some  serious design or manufacturing problems or both with the 4510L.
    It looks as if I'm going to be stuck with this  device unless I want to just dump it and take my penalty. Is there anything else that I can do?

    After I sent the message below, I received my replacement MIFI and on the plastic sleeve that it was in there was a decal which
    among other info on it stated that the firmware was 2.28 so we'll now see if
    that solves my problem. I went to the 192 site and verified that the FW is indeed
    2.28. Will let you know how this new (reconditioned) device works.

      I tried switching to 3G only and it work for quite awhile, but then started dropping the connection. It was obviously a lot slower with 3G. Went back to 4G and into the 192 site and checked for new updates. It says that there are no new updates available. I had the Verizon store update the Jetpack when I received it as my third replacement. The 192 site shows an AP FW version 2.10-3.0.0.5 and a modem FW version 2.23.01. I think the later is the one you're talking about. If it is, then I guess that I'll have to take it back and specifically ask them to upgrade to 2.28. Still waiting on the next device.     MIFI 4510L says I am connected but I am unable to access the internet.  Is there still an outage going on?  I have had no internet connection for a few days now.  The tower near me here in Michigan appears to be out yet VZ says the outage has been fixed..  Is anyone else having this issue?

    Try to reseat your SIM card with a level 2 reset.  This reset is normally effective at forcing your MiFi to re-negotiate with the local towers which should help you.
    Level 2 Reset:
    1. Power down the MiFi
    2. Remove the back cover
    3. Remove the battery
    4. Remove the SIM card
    5. Allow the MiFi to sit for 30 seconds
    6. Reassemble the MiFi
    7. Test the Connection

  • Bridge only shows "high quality thumbnails" even if i have "quick thumbs" selected under preferences

    I have tried using the options "Convert To High Quality When Previewed" and "quick thumbnails" under preferences, and closed and restarted bridge after changing each option, but to no avail.

    won't "downsize" the cached thumbnails; the high-quality thumbnails will still show. To see low-quality (quick) thumbnails, turn to another folder with images with no thumbnails yet created, or purge the thumbnail cache. Simply closing and restarting won't purge the cache.
