Mifi billing usage question
Dumb question... But if just leave my Mifi on all the time acting as my in house wifi.. I'm only billed if i'm actually on right? It's not considered "on" unless I'm actually searching or whatever right?
Dear Skyline,
Good afternoon. I am sorry to hear you are looking to change carriers. We value you as a customer and certainly do not want to lose you. What's making you want to change carriers? Is there anything we can help with?
When cancelling service, it is always set to cancel at the end your bill cycle date. This is to to avoid any overage that may be caused by a prorated bill. Verizon Wireless bills a month in advance, so you have already been billed for service up until the end of the current bill cycle. This will allow your final bill to have a zero balance as long as there is no overage or cancellation fee.
Please let us know if there is anything we can help with in retaining our wireless relationship for many more years to come.
Thank You,
MichelleS_VZW

Retrieving billing/usage through Azure API
I'm looking to retrieve my account usage details through Azure API but couldn't find the relevant API for that.
I know I can download the CSV file of usage details in Azure Portal Account->Subscriptions->Download Usage Details, and would need to retrieve the same through API.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.Hi ksrishna,
Thanks for your posting!
Currently we don't got the billing usage file using API. You could download in the account page on the portal. Also, you could vote this feature via this customer feedback page:

Azure Billing Usage Extract File Query
Hi,
Please help us on my queries.
Is there any way to uniquely identify the VM in Azure Usage files across all the subscriptions (downloaded from
ea.windowsazure.com)
Also in the usage files, is there any option to get usage details of all the resources(compute, storage. anything is used by VM) for one particular VM. Basically is it possible to group all the resources based on VMName/vmid ?Hi Prabhu,
Currently, we can't direct get particular unique id cost included the storage. Alternative approach, If you want to get particular resource group cost, you could calculate them cost by their usage. For example , you could calculate the running
time of VM and the usage of storage. And then you can generated the billing report to your customer. Also, you could vote this Billing API feature (http://feedback.azure.com/forums/170030-billing/suggestions/1143971-billing-usage-api).
Another method is that you can create subscription for each customer, every subscription could show the billing information details .
Regards,
Will

MiFi Data Usage Analysis?
Our monthly data usage continues to explode and there doesn't appear to be a way to figure out what is driving the amount of data... Verizon has a data usage report that shows GB/MB at certain times of the day, but those times apear to be "groupings" of data usage vs. actually coinciding with actual usage. For example, if one son is doing XBox-Live thru the MiFi, while his mom is "Skyping" with a friend at a similar time, how can I know what's driving the most data? We live in a rural community with no cable, no DSL, no FIOS, no nothing - except HughesNet Satellite (which still is too slow and not recommended for XBox-live type usage anyway) or the MiFi. But I want to figure out what types of usage drive the highest amounts of data, and the Verizon analysis tools don't seem to help. Anybody have any recommendations?
Hello,
To understand the actual impact of your data usage habits you will have to conduct some experiments. First step is to isolate each type of usage by itself when no one else is using the MiFi. Check your data usage to get a baseline. Consume that data for an hour or so to get a good sample. When you are done check with Verizon again over the next 30 minutes to see how much your data went up (data reports are delayed). Rinse and repeat for any application you are concerned about. I'd suggest doing this for each application at least 3 times so you can feel confident in your results. Skyping may be hard to do for an hour so I would suggest testing everything else first and applying what is left as your Skype data consumption.
That being said I would assume that Skype would be your biggest data drain. Streaming audio and video definitely are the best ways to chew through a data plan at any given time. Although you may suspect Xbox to be the same each game is different. Some games only send small pieces of information across the Internet and are very data plan friendly. Other games that stream the entire game across the Internet are not.
Trial and error and the process of elimination are your friends. Given enough data you will be able to gauge your own usage habits and stay on top of your bill before it blind sides you at the end of the billing cycle.
Example of Good Habits:
Avoid Video, use low def options if necessary
Avoid Streaming music, use low def options if necessary
Avoid High-res pictures, use low def options if necessary
Close down your applications when you are done using them
Disconnect from the device when you are not using it
Check in on your usage frequently until you understand what impact your habits have on the plan
Turn off automatic updates for any programs or services
Secure your device by changing the default connection credentials to custom values -
Can you please tell me how i can find the usage on a given day? FYI,I connect to the web via selection of the MIFI 2200 on the"airport" (mac) and have put the password into my key chain, so nothing pops up,and goes directly to the web (if i have made myself clear)
I have also connected to my USB but don't understand the options.
ThanksIf you visit your MyVerizon account on the Verizon Wireless website or if you look around in the VZAccess Manager for a usage section, I think you should be able to see the data usage on a daily basis. If not, at least you can find your overall data usage for the billing cycle. I'm on a MiFi 2200 right now on vacation since the other connection I have access to is disconnecting constantly, and I know that visiting http://192.168.1.1/ shows the data usage since the last time the MiFi was rebooted.
I use the above address since I do NOT have any Verizon software on my PCs. I'm running the MiFi in Wi-FI mode.

/ usage questions...
Hello.
I have 2 questions:
1. I have noticed that my / partition's used space increased by ~10M from the last time I've checked it, from 111M to 121M. What could be the cause of that? (see the info below...)
2. The output of df and du is not what I am expecting it to be. I.e. there are differences between the disk usage reported by these 2 commands on the / partition. What could be the cause of this? (see the info below...)
Any reply or any RTFM re-dirrectioning is appreciated.
TIA

When I've read these words I have started to "scroll" back in my memory buffer and eventually I've remembered that the only thing I did as superuser was to download some Firefox extensions which (surprise or not...) summed up to ~12M.
So we have the answer for this one too thanks to your hints

Hi,
I have a billing question. Will item number (VBRP-POSNR) on the billing invoice have a different value than Reference item number (VBRP-VGPOS) ?
Thanks
NidhishNidhish,
It CAN be different. VBRP- VGPOS is basically the item number on the referenced document (delivery or invoice)- VBRP_ VGBEl.
In the copy control setting for your invoice document the "Copy item number" checkbox controls this behavior.
Thanks,

Inter company billing relevancy - Question
We have one order type (A) which we want to make it not relevant for inter company billing. The order type used to use the same delivery and intercompany billing type (ZIA) other order types (B, C...) which are relevant for inter company billing.
We have removed the inter company billing type from the order type (A) definition. And we have added a requirement in copy control to stop the inter company billing from this order type (A).
Now the inter company billing doc is not created any more due to the copy control requirement. But when I run billing due list, it still shows that the delivery for this order type(A) is relevant/due for inter company billing.
I guess the reason is that since order type A shares that same delivery and billing doc type with other order types, the copy control from the delivery and billing (inter company) still shows the flow from the delivery to the inter company billing type is valid, thus still trying to create the inter company billing. (Since I cannot remove the copy control from the delivery type to the inter company type)
So my questions are: Did I missing anything else to exclude this order type from inter company billing? Do I have to use a different set of delivery type to make the deliveru due list NOT to show that the deliveries for order type A are due for inter company billing?
Thanks.Hi,
I think that the next notes suggest a solution:
Note 209934 - Reason f rejection ineffect w intercompany billing
Note 308989 - Consultant note for cross-company transactions (and related notes)
Note 338922 - Analysis note for cross-company transactions (delivery)
Note 502877 - Delivery without reference relevant for intercompany billing
Note 301254 - Creation of billing index
Note 386370 - Check report for the billing due list (billing index)
I hope this helps you,

CPU Usage Question between Premier and Media Encoder
Hey guys,
Here is the question. I just built a new machine with the following specs:
Intel i7 2.66GHz process overclocked to 3.2GHz
12GB Memory
Nvidia 260 Overclocked video card.
When I export a video from Adobe Premier into Media Encoder, all 8 cores peg out at 100% and thus my CPU temp get hot really quick (78 - 80 degrees Celsius)
Now if I take the same original video file and just drag it into Media Encoder, my 8 cores only show about 24-40% usage and the temp only gets to around 55-60 degrees Celsius.
What is causing such a big difference in CPU usage? I'm afraid to use Adobe Premier as it causes the CPUs to max out everytime. I want to edit my videos, but as stuck with just using AME on the original files.I suspect its simply because in the first case Pr and AME are both running. In the later, just ame loading the Pr project. In the forst case two projects are running simultaneously, the one in Pr and a temp copy in AME.
But more troublesome to me is why youve built a system that cant be maxed out. IN editing, we Want the CPUs to peg to process as fast as possible. IMHO; You should re-think the design of your workstation if it overheats so easily.

Some questions of Widgets and RAM usage:
a) when you close dashboard/widget RAM usage eventually drops to zero?
b) when you de-activate widgets, do they use any RAM even if you activate Dashboard?
c) anyone have experience with that 'turn widgets on at login' app? RAM usage?
THanks.Hello,
As far as I know and having recently been testing on my own machines, Widgets do seem to play a pretty big role in RAM usage.
Strangely enough, I've noticed it on my G5 the most (probably because I use it more), that when Widgets are off, everything seems qiute a bit more snappy...apps launch MUCH faster, and actions take less time.
I really like Widgets for the most part, but there seem to be memory leaks the longer they're enabled, and the longer the machine is up and running.
Relaunching the dock seems to work SOME of the time...restarting seems to always work.
You can view what's going on in the Activity Monitor, located in your Utilities folder.
You can disable Widgets by this method in the Terminal:
To turn Dashboard off:
defaults write com.apple.dashboard mcx-disabled -boolean YES
To turn Dashboard on:
defaults write com.apple.dashboard mcx-disabled -boolean NO
You have to restart the Dock after making either change for it to take effect:
killall Dock
or Onyx has this ability.
After doing this I would suggest a restart just to make sure.
After doing so, launch Activity Monitor to see your free RAM.
Hope this was helpful.

Listing and Billing Currency Question...
This is what I'm getting on my listings Review your listing Listing Currency: U.S. dollarBilling Currency: Canadian dollar If you list on Ebay.ca and your listings are in $US and you pay your Ebay fees by Paypal in $US...Is this the way you should be set up? It seems to me there would be a currency exchange advantage if your Billing Currency was in $US, not $CAN.I'm not sure what would be best...
Listing currency and billing currency are independent from each other Listing currency on eBay.com is always in US$ Listing currency on eBay.ca can be either US$ or Cdn$, at the option of the seller The billing currency is selected by the seller and can be changed once a year. http://pages.ebay.ca/help/sell/billing-currency.html If your billing currency is in US$ and you list in US$, then the fees charged by eBay are exactly what you see on the fee schedule; If your billing currency is in US$ and you list in Cdn$, then each fee will be converted to US$ using the current conversion rate (determined daily by eBay). That conversion rate does not include any currency conversion fee. For example, if you have a Cdn$1.00 fee today, your account would be charged US$0.77 If your billing currency is in Cdn$ and you list in Cdn$, then the fees charged by eBay are exactly what you see on the fee schedule. If your billing currency is in Cdn$ and you list in US$, then each fee will be converted to Cdn$ using the current conversion rate (determined daily by eBay). For example, if you have a US$1.00 fee today, your account would be charged Cdn$ 1.29 How to select the right "billing currency"? The "right" answer to that question depends on each seller: what currency is used for listing? where are the proceeds kept? does the seller have a US$ denominated credit card? etc... Personally I list in both US$ on eBay.com and Cdn$ on eBay.ca. That is what works best for me. I also pay my eBay fees by credit card (never PayPal) as I earn AirMiles every month with my credit card and I find it a lot easier from a bookkeeping point-of-view. That is what works best for me. Good Luck

Final Cut Server Usage Question...
I have just started researching this product and confused a little about it. I am the IT dept at a small advertising agency that does quite bit of video work.
Mostly all of the workstation in the office are PowerMac G5's that clock in at dual 2.2GHz or above with 4GB of RAM
We also have an Xserve G5 (Dual) with 4GB of RAM a 2GB fibre card installed and an apple RAID system as well. The office is all wired with 10/100.
With final cut server - will they be able to actullay edit video over the network on the RAID through the Xserve. Is that what this software is for? Sorry for such a lame question. If not is this basically like Adobe's Bridge application?
Let me know.Yes it does do basically what your saying, You can leave the source media on the server and just edit from your local machine. You can also download proxies (lower res version of the source media) and edit on a laptop or with a PC without having to move the large source files.
I cant imagine any reason why any company or small business using more than one editing machine wouldn't go for this solution
Does that answer your question? -
Sleep usage question - not problem
Sleep seems to work differntly on my new iMac compared to my old G4 FP iMac.
Question - are these observations below normal?
1. When I used to put my G4 to sleep (by clicking apple/sleep), my G4 would seem to more completely sleep. Even my external Lacie firewire drive wuold turn off its light and shut down. But with my intel iMac, the light on the external drive does not turn off.
2. It seems like the iMac fan is still running after putting it to sleep. When I check the next morning the iMac still seems warm/hot with the fan still running(though amost silently).
3. Also I notice that my G4 would provide the stobing light only when the computer was put to sleep, if the monitor alone was sleeping the strobing light would not flash, but with the intel iMac the strobing light will flash if the monitor has timed to sleep, but the computer has not.
4. I'd also note that I have the preference set to allow hard drive to sleep. And I do find that I can hear the hard drive starting up again (especially the firewire drive) after not using the drive for a while. Nevertheless, the firewire drive light is on all the time.
Thanks for any comments,
Tony554/3000
Hi Tony,
Yes, it seems the light (steady or pulsing) "tasks" have changed since the G4 iMacs.
See here:
So it may very well be different again with the new Core Duo iMacs?
Of course your computer is awake and works, if it's only the display sleeping.

Hi All,
Happy New Year.
I have configured a new output type for E-mail. This output type is hooked up with an Access Seq which has Condition table (Fields are: Sales Org, Bill Type, and Billing Indicator). The output type is getting determined fine and the overall process is working fine.
Issue - Requirement is to maintain the Billing Indicator at the Sold To level for E-mail Customers. But when processed the billing indicator is being pulled from Payer insted of Sold To level. For customers with same Sold to/Bill to/Payer/Ship to, this works fine. But for customers where they have different payer than the sold To and have different Billing indicator, it's causing the problem. We can't change the billing indicator of payer to E-mail. This has to be maintained at the Sold To leve.
I am looking to confirm if there is any way to force the system to pull/check the billing indicator from Sold To instead of payer?
Any Help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
IrfanIrfan,
There is an issue with the condition table.
The standard field "Billing Indicator" may refer to the Billing Indicator of the payer in the invoice document. The field also refers to the billing indicator of the payer, instead of sold to party.
You can enable this by creating a new field called "SP Billing Indicator" say example ZZ_BLIN. Append this field in the structures KOMG( KOMK, KOMP). Also you have take up a coding USEREXIT_PRICING_PREPARE_TKOMP in the include RV60AFZZ. In this include you have to write a small piece of code which says that
MOVE KNVP-ZZBLIN to TKOMP-ZZBLIN where KNVP-KUNNR = VBRK-KUNAG(Sold to party)
Once this code is written, you can create a new condition table and include the table in access sequence and now try your test. It should work fine
