I can explain how this could occur:
User logs in and earns 1 point for first-time-ever login. Point total = 1
User asks a question, then marks his own answer as Correct, receiving no additional points. Point total = 1 still.
Someone unmarks the user's own answer as Correct, which would normally lead to -10 points. But the system cannot remove more points that the user's point total, which is still just 1 so far, so in this case it subtracts -1 only.

Possible bug with Triggers tab

Hi there,
I'm using 1.0.0.12.15 and think there is a bug with the triggers tab. When I navigate to my table (which has one trigger on it), and then click on the Triggers tab, the trigger shows up multiple times. It's probably not a coincidence that it shows up the same number of times that there are columns :)
Looks like a missing join condition somewhere.

SQL Developer is getting the triggers like this:

However, we got other objects (mainly tables) with the same name as the trigger. Not specifying the object type will identify them the same way as the trigger, resulting them all to be included in the select!
Adding "and do.object_type = 'TRIGGER'" will solve the problem.

A bug in communication tab ?

Bug when using Tab Images

Hi
I'm trying to use Tab Images in APEX 4.0.1, but have hit a couple of bugs.
Firstly, I'm using the substitution string #TAB_IMAGE# in the page template. This is described in the help as "Image File Name", however this is replaced with the full image tag. I believe the help text is very misleading in this instance.
Secondly, and this is by far the bigger problem, the img tag that replaces #TAB_IMAGE# has the image prefix hard coded into the src! So if the Current Tab Image for my tab is set to http://www.example.com/images/tab1.png then the source for the image in my case is /i/http://www.example.com/images/tab1.png which is incorrect.
This means that images for tabs MUST always be in the directory referenced by the #IMAGE_PREFIX# substitution string.
Am I missing something here? Is there a workaround? Currently we are unable to use Tab Images due to this.

Hello Sara,
The behavior you are describing is a long time known issue. It is a bug that should have been resolved by now, but for some reason was not. Maybe it’s because none of the default (built-in) page templates is using images with TABs.
The workaround is to create your own img tag in the appropriate page template section, using the #TAB_NAME# substitution string. The principle is to name your corresponding images like current_#TAB_NAME#.gif and non_current_#TAB_NAME#.gif, where the #TAB_NAME# part in the file name is replaced with the actual tab name. So, for a TAB called EMP, you’ll have two image files by the names current_EMP.gif and non_current_EMP.gif.

Numerous bugs experienced: toolbar, tabs, new window

Here are some of the bugs I experienced in just a few hours with this clearly not ready for release version:
* Reload, stop loading and home buttons disappeared from toolbar
* Firefox no longer remembers the tabs I had open a previous session, nor does it issue the famous "Well, this is embarrassing..." message. They're just gone.
* I opened some new windows by holding down shift and clicking on a link. The window did not contain the contents of the linked site. And when I started Firefox again, each time it created one new window for each time I'd opened a new window. Right now, everytime I start Firefox 4, I get and must dismiss six blank windows.
* There is an extra title bar containing the orange Firefox menu, and extra minimize, maximize and exit buttons. The first two work normally; the exit button works only if more than one tab is open. It then dismisses the application.

The buttons weren't on the 'customize' panel that I could find. Nor did clicking 'restore default set' help. They are gone.

Isn't it a pity the developers do not appear to have listened to them. They made changes for the sake of making changes - changes that aren't actually improvements, and they degraded the user experience for those long-time users.
I'll probably try it again around the end of the summer or so, when they've had a chance to shake some of these bugs out of it. Right now, it's just not useful or reliable enough for me.

Javascript bug when switching tabs

Hello,
I'm developing a simple web site with an image slideshow on the front page. The slideshow is powered by javascript and are using javascript's "setTimeout" function to toggle between images with a jQuery animation. However, when I switch to another tab and wait for a while, then switch back, it seems like all animations that should have been run in the background has been queued up and then runs simultaneously as soon as I switch back to the original tab. Basically it freaks out for a few seconds when all stacked up animations are run, and then it goes back to the normal behaviour.
Is this a bug or a feature? And if it's a feature, how would you suggest that I code my javascript to avoid this problem?

Because of the nature of requestAnimationFrame(), you should never queue animations using a setInterval or setTimeout loop. In order to preserve CPU resources, browsers that support requestAnimationFrame will not update animations when the window/tab is not displayed.

To avoid this potential problem, use the callback of your last animation in the loop, or append a function to the elements .queue() to set the timeout to start the next animation.

BUGS: Theme 17 Tabs

I've come across a couple of problems with theme 17 (Greyscale).
I started investigating a rendering problem with theme 17 tabs in Webkit-based browsers.
I haven't yet figured out why Webkit is computing the height of the tab <div>s differently to other browsers. Obviously happy to hear from anyone who's figured this out.
However the 2-level tab page template contains an HTML error in that the wrapper <div>s for the parent and child tabs are both assigned the id attribute value "t17Tabs", when ids must be unique within a document:
<div id="t17Tabs">#PARENT_TAB_CELLS#</div><div id="t17Tabs">#TAB_CELLS#</div>Themes normally use another "t17ChildTabs" or suchlike ids with 2-level tabs, but as well as being missing from the page template, there is no such selector referenced in the theme 17 CSS. This leads me to think that identical treatment of both tab levels is intended, and "t17Tabs" should be a class attribute not an id?

Finally found some time to look at this again.
1. The Webkit browser problem is due to the following CSS rule:
.t17CurrentTab, .t17Tab { display: -moz-inline-box; }which is in the main /theme_17/theme_3_1.css CSS file, and of course is only recognised by Mozilla browsers. The following rule is in the IE-only /theme_17/ie.css CSS file hidden from other browsers in a conditional comment so is only applied to IE.:
.t17CurrentTab { display: inline-block; }
.t17Tab { display: inline-block; }So the fix to display tabs properly in Safari and Chrome (and Opera for that matter) is to change the rule in theme_17/theme_3_1.css (or elsewhere) to:
.t17CurrentTab, .t17Tab {
display: -moz-inline-box;
display: inline-block;
}which works with all browsers as FF 3+ now also supports inline-block (and the original property still works in FF2). This also actually makes the IE-only CSS superfluous at the present time as the above are the only rules in it.
2. The duplicate t17Tabs ID issue obviously remains, so I've changed my local templates to have class="t17Tabs" instead and supplied the required CSS:

This was fixed as bug 8527710 in the APEX 3.2.1 patch set. However, this theme 17 "Greyscale" as replaced by a completely different theme 17 "Sapphire" in APEX 4.0, rendering this bug (and workaround) of historical interest only.

Is there some sort of bug where app tabs don't work with private browsing? My pinned tabs don't show when I start Firefox in private mode.

I recently updated to Firefox 5.0, and I was pretty impressed with the app tabs. I usually use Firefox in private browsing mode, but recently I changed that to make use of the history function. However, I decided to change it back to permanent private browsing, and apparently my pinned tabs all just disappeared. Is there anyway I can change this?

App (pinned) tabs and Tab Groups (Panorama) are stored as part of the session data in the file sessionstore.js in the Firefox profile folder.<br />
If you use Private Browsing mode then no session data is stored to disk.

Anyone with 5.1 speakers and audigy 2.......might have this bug too.......

When you turn on your cmss2 not cmss AND you have eax ON do you get sound from your center speaker?

Center channel works fine for me in all modes.
I turned on WMP 0 with a few mp3's. CMSS, CMSS + EAX Effect, CMSS2, CMSS2 + Effect. I went through several effects w/ CMSS & 2.
I did notice a couple things that could be affecting you though. I have the CMSS "Fader" for lack of a better term.. it moves the stereo focus from front speakers to back speakers.. set to 0%, which is balanced between front and back. Also, in the EAX Effect pane there this the effect amount. When I played w/ these two sliders and different effects, I noticed the center speaker did get very faint at times. Sometimes all that could be heard was reverb or echo.
Maybe it's the unique combination of CMSS setting and effect amount, plus the type of center speaker you have just not getting enough power?

Possible Tab Bug?

The current bug: Adding an additional tab below another will cause the tab to looked messed up. The work around suggested was to create a page (with new tabs), publish it as a portlet underneath a main tab. Then you will visually see tabs underneath tabs.
The new problem you get with this work around is your content underneath the sub-tab will not show up the first load. You have to click on another tab, then back to the previous tab to show the content.
Another weird thing I ran across having to do with regions and published folders. I found that you cannot set a corrent percentage within regions when folders are added to regions.
For instance; Under a tab, divid a region into two regions. The first region make 5% and the second 95%; now when you add your (folder) portlets underneath both regions you will see when viewing it, that it will show up 50% and 50%. If you take out the folder portlet on region 1, and add a application portlet; everything shows up fine.
I have come across varies things like this, but I will start posting the errors and possible work arounds.

I noticed this also. (in 3.0.6.7.2 on NT).
What's funny about this is that this is exactly the same as a bug with sub-tabs in the EA release. Maybe the data structure of a sub-tab and a page in a tab is very similar...

Where is the Rentals tab in iTunes 11?

I'm using iTunes 11 for Windows and just finished downloading 2 movies that I rented. Now where do I go if I want to watch them on my computer? Before, in iTunes 10 and below, there was a "Rentals" tab that you click and it shows rented movies. I've read some posts saying this might be a bug which would be a shame since I downloaded these 2 movies at the same time so that means I lose both of them and my money. If I'm just missing something and they are still viewable please point out how to access them because now i'm really regretting pressing the "Watch later" button when I was asked to watch now or later after the downloads finished xD

I had a little trouble finding a movie I just rented too. Don't know about iTunes 11 for Windows, but on the Mac version of 11.0.1 (12) click on your Library button on the upper left and select "Movies". A line of tab-like words will show to the right, on the center of the screen. On my interface the tab-words are "Rented", then "Unwatched", then "Movies", "Genres", "Home Videos", and "List". As soon as I click "Rented" my rented movie shows up and I can watch it by double clicking on it. Funny enough my rented movie does is not shown when I click on "Unwatched" even though I haven't watched it yet. I hope this helps. Cheers! S.

Applying a New Template to a Page with Tabs

Hi,
We use page templates for our pages. We know that you cannot add a region to a page based on a template, but supposedly you can add tabs to a page based on a template.
One template we have has a single tab on it. The web designers have been adding content to pages built on that template. When they need another tab, they add it and add content to the new region on the tab. They may do this until there are 4 tabs on the page (the original tab that is in the template, plus three additional tabs). We use this for example to collect links to memos and to divide the links onto 4 tabs representing calendar quarters.
One of the problems with this process is that the web designers have not been consistent in using uniform definitions for the region on each tab causing an inconsistent look-and-feel from one tab to the next.
I have created a new template with 4 tabs already defined and with the region properties already defined. The web designers can then add content as needed and if a tab is not required it can be marked as hidden.
The problem that I am running into is that if I try to apply the new template to an existing page, I get the following error message:
Error: ORA-00001: unique constraint (PORTAL.WWV_THINGS_NAME_UK) violated
Also, consistently the content from the original first tab is lost and there is no corresponding tab on the reformatted page. Content on the second tab appears to be OK, but content on the third tab is missing. Content on the fourth tab appears to be OK.
Can anyone tell me 1. what is specifically causing the error message, and 2. is it possible to do what I want to do or will all of these pages have to be recreated manually instead of changing the templates.?

You should be able to do what you are trying to do. You seem to be running into a bug. Please file this with support if possible. Based on the error message, you seem to be running into a case of duplicate names, on either items or tabs. What you might try doing is renaming the tabs, ensuring uniqueness, before changing templates. By "renaming", I mean changing the NAME of the tab, not the Display Name, by clicking Edit Tab in edit mode. Does this help at all?

Right click menu changes after error: possible bug

SQL Developer 1.1.2.25 build 25.79. This problem is reproducible everytime.
01. Connect to any database.
02. In the SQL window, run any query like
select 'alter '||object_type||' '||owner||'.'||object_name||' compile;' from dba_objects where status='INVALID' and owner='XYZ';
Craft the query to return some rows.
03. In the results window, right click the result set and choose Export Data->TEXT.
04. SQL Developer will generate an error:ora-00972 identifier is too long.
05. Click Ok to close the error box.
06. Modify the query to include an alias:
select 'alter '||object_type||' '||owner||'.'||object_name||' compile;' as x from dba_objects where status='INVALID' and owner='XYZ';
Run the query to generate rows.
07. In the result window, right click the records. The right click menu will change. the Export Data option is no longer available.
Since the problem is repeatable, it might be a bug.
