Might be a simple fix, desperate please help
I am using a Befw11S4 router and a macbook. I also have my nintendo wii and xbox 360 on the network. Almost on a daily basis I have to unplug my router and put it back again to get my internet connection working. I always show a connection to the router and my network, just not the internet. Someone told me it might be due to interference and to change the channel to 11 or 1. I did that and it worked for a couple of days, then the same problem again. I dont know what to do. Should I buy a different router? Its got the most current firmware update as well.
Might be a bandwidth overload issue caused by your XBOX. So try doing these steps.
Login in to the router interface. Go to Applications and Gaming and fill in these values:
Application: XBOX
Start: 3074
End: 3074
Protocol: Both
IP: 192.168.1.5
Save the settings:
Then on your XBOX, make your IP settings MANUAL and input these values:
IP: 192.168.1.5
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1
Save these settings. And just observe your connections. See if you still experience connection issues.
These changes should ensure that the XBOX only get's it's due bandwidth.

This sounds like it is about Window positions.
iChat has Default places for Incoming Invites.
Video is always top Center of your Screen
Audio and Text chats are Upper right with the Audio slightly lower than Text Chats.
Secondary invites are sort of Stacked like when you open multiple files from the same App.
Your outgoing Windows are "Remembered" as to where the last one was when you used it.
This can be an issue if you use your Mac with a second display and turn Off Mirroring.
You windows can get "left" on the other screen.
Go to System Preferences > Displays and turn On Mirroring and the windows should come back to one Screen/display.
If this does not help go to your Home Folder/Library/Preferences and delete (Drag to Trash) com.apple.ichat.plist and restart iChat.
Unfortunately you will need to reset any iChat Preferences you have changed from defaults.

System Preferences > Network > Ethernet? If that shows "not connected" that is all your Mac knows. As far as it is concerned there is no cable connected to the port on your Mac, or the other end of the cable is either disconnected or connected to something that is broken.
Try another cable. If the cable is broken you will also get that status message. If you have exhausted all of these possibilities, the only remaining cause is an inoperative port on your Mac. -

If your webcam is powered by USB, make sure it is attached directly to your Mac and not a USB hub. In my case, I had my Rocketfish webcam attached to a peripheral USB hub and it wasn't drawing enough power to operate at capacity. Therefore, Facetime was quitting on me and giving me that exact error message. Once I attached the webcam directly to my Mac USB port, problem solved. Hope that helps.

My macbook pro has a virus/trojan that is resetting the EFI via apci and it is getting root access privileges. It seems to be creating multiple aliases that bundle with rogue apps and preferences so it is very difficult to control or fix. Please help..It all stems from the "about donwloads" PDF which kicks off the restructuring of the OS..
Well given the fact that it is not just myself who is infected and also that this is my 3rd macbook in 1 year because the other 2 efi's were compromised to the point where they were unusable, and also that I must've been to the mac store no less than 100 times in a year for these issues, I beg to differ. Here is what I can show you. This has been ongoing for over a year now.

I upgraded my 4s to 7.0.4 and now I can't acicess hotmail through my main mail app. When I open it a pop up says password incorrect even after I put my password in it pops up again. How do I fix this please help

Got it! Thanx. What I did was go to my account, check that they had my new ID and Password which they did, then hit reset button. All fixed. -
I am very desperate. It has been two days and i can't use my iphone because i can't activate it. I have done a reset to my iphone and now i have to activate it.The problem i have is that i can't remeber nor my apple id, or password, or security question or anything.I NEED HELP! Extreme permsions problem - desperate please help!!!
I have repaired permissions three times, run tech tools twice, deleted preferences etc and it is not fixing the problem - which has got to be a permissions problem- here is what happens:
1. In illustrator CS:- when you have a file open and you have made changes but want to close it with out saving the changes - it wont let me close the file or quit illustrator util I have sved the file. no errors come up it just ignores me! I have to force quit out of it to close illustrator....unless I save the changes!!!

I have a G5 1.8ghz 10.3.9 with an external hard drive with three partitions and another extra internal hard drive
The external hard drive has just recently been reformatted
All the items seemed to be related as they all started happening at the same time about the when the external was reformated
please help I feel I have tried everything under the austrailian sun!!!!I have repaired permissions three times, run tech tools twice, deleted preferences etc and it is not fixing the problem - which has got to be a permissions problem- here is what happens:
1. In illustrator CS:- when you have a file open and you have made changes but want to close it with out saving the changes - it wont let me close the file or quit illustrator util I have sved the file. no errors come up it just ignores me! I have to force quit out of it to close illustrator....unless I save the changes!!!

This is not a permissions problem. More than likely it's a problem with Illustrator, one of its preference files, or your hard drive, or your OS is corrupted.

This is a bug in 10.3.x. Upgrade to Tiger or use the freeware utility BatChMod (www.versiontracker.com.)

This may be a permissions problem related to the specific folders. Note that some folders may have permissions set to deny access for a reason. Be sure you are not trying to access folders you are not supposed to access. BTW, repairing permissions will not fix this. Repairing permissions with Disk Utility does not affect the permissions on folders belonging to the user.

Pretty good sign your hard drive needs repair. Again, this has nothing to do with permissions.

This may be the way PS works or you may be trying to save over a file in use. Some apps want you to use Save As to avoid overwriting another file.
Off hand I would say your hard drive is in dire need of repair. It's also possible your operating system has become seriously corrupted and possibly even some of your applications. To start the process to normal first do the following:
Boot from your OS X Installer. Be sure to use the installer for the version of OS X you have installed. After the installer loads select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (or Utilities menu if using Tiger.) After DU loads select your OS X volume from the list on the left, click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. Now select the hard drive entry (this is the one with the Mfgr.'s ID and drive size) and check the SMART status in DU's status bar. If it does not say "Verified", then the drive is failing. If no errors are reported, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now shutdown the computer for a couple of minutes and then restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior (3.0.3 for Tiger) and/or TechTool Pro (4.1.1 for Tiger) to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
If this does not fix the situation, then you may need to reinstall OS X. If these problems have been around for a while, then you have been updating Tiger on a corrupted drive or system. If that be the case then reinstalling is the only solution that is guaranteed to return things to normal. You can reinstall without erasing the drive by doing an Archive and Install. However, do not attempt an Archive and Install unless the hard drive has been verified as OK. -

My iPad mini screen keeps turning upside down and I cannot fix it, please help!
When my iPad mini is in the upright position, the screen turns upside down and I have not touched the rotation switch, it just does this on its own and I cannot get it to go back into the right position. Also, it will not let me view it in the longside "landscape" mode. Can someone please help me fix this and tell me what is going on, why is it doing this? I have only had it for a few months and it is very upsetting to see it doing strange things like this without my prompting. Please help! Thank you so much!
