Mighty Mouse and keyboard bluetooth drop

I have spent the past 2 days restarting my computer to get it to recognize bluetooth mighty mouse and keyboard for imac. Now it see's neither, even with brand new batteries in each. Have had to revert to older keyboard and mouse (both bluetooth). Ideas?

Bluetooth Mighty Mouse and Keyboard not working in Win XP!

Hi All,
I simply cannot get my Bluetooth Mighty Mouse and Keyboard to work in Win XP via Bootcamp! The bluetooth icon appears in the tray and even shows that they are connected but they do nothing at all. One thing to note is that they show up as connected but with no password. Could this be the problem? If I reconnected the two with new passcodes for XP, would they still work when I reboot in OSX?

Bootcamp, Mighty Mouse and Keyboard not working

Hi All,
I just install yesterday Windows 7 (Ultimate 64bits) by Bootcamp in my iMac 21" (bought in 2013).
During the installation, the Mighty Mouse and the keyboard were not working (except the first W7 screens, selecting partition and language), and now, installation finished, i got to use an external keyboard to select username and password, because Mighty Mouse and Wireless Keyboard are not working with Windows.
I restart the computer using OSX and both are working fine.
Could you please help me?

Mighty mouse and keyboard problems

seems like my mighty mouse scroll ball stopped working. it can only go up and not down or side to side. checked all the settings in mouse prefs look normal. any suggestions? also my keyboard f keys arent working.f10-f11 specifically? is my keyboard and mouse dead?

Mighty mouse and keyboard

Hi,
I have an imac 24" for a year now and the last week my mighty mouse (wireless) and my new keyboard (usb) seems to loose the settings and i have to go back to system preferences to reconfigure the mouse buttons.e.g mouse button for dashboard doest respond same for expose. keyboard f13 that was set for expose too doesnt work.any help?

Yes, I am. But for me at last, getting rid of my mousepad was the simple solution.
I did tried the paper under it that someone suggested, and even changed the sensitivity of the MM in System Preferences to no avail. Then I threw away my mousepad, frustrated and angry... and the Mouse was Mighty again. Now I use it right over the plain wood surface of my desk without any misbehavior.

Mighty Mouse and wireless keyboard stop working

Just got my iMac yesterday and everything worked out of the box. But once yesterday and once so far today, the wireless mighty mouse and keyboard stopped working.
Today I noticed after the mouse stopped moving the cursor, the little green light on the bottom of the mouse was blinking. I turned off the mouse and turned it back on, but the green light still blinked and the mouse still didn't work.
The only thing that did something was the power button on the iMac. I had to turn off the iMac and turn it back on. Then the keyboard and mouse worked again.
What's going on? Do I need to get the iMac repaired?

Try deleting this file. com.apple.bluetooth.plist
/Users/YourName/Library/Preferences. Drag that file from the Preferences folder to the Trash, empty the Trash and reboot.
If that doesn't help, make sure the batteries are charged. Go to System Preferences/Keyboard&Mouse. Click the Bluetooth tab. Your battery levels are displayed there. When it gets down to one green bar on the left, install new batteries.
If none of the above helps, turn the mouse and keyboard off. Delete the mouse and keyboard from the System Preferences/Bluetooth devices window. Select the mouse in the window on the left, then click the minus - button. Now open the slider on the mouse so the green light blinks. Click + which will launch the Bluetooth Setup Assistant. Just follow the instructions. Same for the keyboard. If you still have issues with the wireless hardware, I'd take it back. You have 14 days in case you need to replace the iMac.

Mac Mini and Bluetooth Recent Problems (Mighty Mouse, Wireless Keyboard)

I have an issue with my Mac Mini.
We had a storm here recently, so I switched my Mac off. After that, I turned it on, but to my surprise my Wireless Mighty Mouse and Wireless Keybord do not function any more. The green dot under the mouse nad keyboard flashes for a few seconds and turns off. I tried to plug my regular mouse and keyboard but it seems the do not work too. Any solutions?

i dont know if you have another mac around but have you tried repairing the disk by putting it into Target disk mode and hooking up another mac to it? if nothing else, try putting the install CD/DVD and boot from there by holding down "c" as it boots. if that works then it may just be a bad BT card. if it doesnt work then you may have bad usb ports. i hope you have applecare!
a tip for bluetooth HIDs, spread them apart. you will experience problems on occasion where their signals get crossed and they fail to sync right.
by the way, if you went the extra mile to turn off your mac because you were concerned about it, then why didnt you just unplug it from the outlet?

i have an apple Bluetooth Keyboard and wireles mighty mouse. Since i have installed leopard months ago it was working fine but then my mouse and keyboard stopped pairing with my Powerbook it recognises the devices but the refuse to pair i changed the batteries and installed the software that cam ith the keyboard and mouse and still nothing works.

After updating to 10.5.2 I am still experiencing problems with my Apple wireless mouse and keyboard. This is a Leopard issue ( here is just one blog on the topic
http://aralbalkan.com/1086 ) in 2005 I purchased a Mac Mini which I love and never experienced a Bluetooth problem till I installed Leopard several months ago, now at least once a week, on average 2-3 times a week, I loose connection with the keyboard or the mouse and it takes awhile to re-establish the connection. I was hoping the last upgrade would address this issue but no such luck.

Mighty Mouse and Wireless Keyboard

I purchased a Mighty Mouse and a Wireless Keyboard at the Apple Store today...unfortunate to my stupidity the keyboard won't work.
I was told I could get both to work. The Mighty Mouse works swimmingly, however the Wireless Keyboard can't connect. How can I get it to connect to my computer? I heard something about a Bluetooth USB wire or something along the lines of that, but how would I go about getting one?

Does your computer have built-in Bluetooth, or an external Bluetooth adapter? If not, there's your problem.

Windows 7 and Wireless Mighty Mouse, Wireless Keyboard and sound problem

I just installed Windows 7 x64 Ultimate on my iMac 24" white ( OS X Leopard 10.5 ). Surprisingly, it installed without any problems. The only problems I have now are the Wireless Mighty Mouse and the Wireless Keyboard ( alu ).
After I installed Windows I inserted the Leopard Instal DVD and installed Boot Camp. I got a message right away saying that: "This program has known compatibility issues...". I clicked Run program and continued. Soon I got the same warning, but this time not for Boot Camp, but Intel Chipset Device Software. I clicked Run program yet again and it continued installing. Then I got a different warning: "Service KeyAgent' failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services." I clicked Ignore and installation continued. I got another "Service Mac HAL' failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services." warning, clicked Ignore again and after that it finished soon and I restarted the computer.
When I came back into Windows there was no Apple folder anywhere or any sign that I have just installed Boot Camp ( should there be? )
I installed Boot Camp Update 2.1 for Windows XP ( because Vista x64 version wouldn't start ) and basically I got the same warnings I did when I installed Boot Camp from the Leopard DVD ( described above ). I also tried to instal Boot Camp Update 2.2 for Windows, but it didn't start. I also downloaded Bluetooth Update 1.0, but all I got was a message saying: "This update is not intended for this computer and will not be installed.".
There is also no sound.
This is basically it, I really hope some of you who run Windows 7 with wireless keyboards and mice can help me, because I desperately need this to work ( I use a Windows only program for school ).
PS. I have a 2007 iMac 24" white and while it is not on the we're-not-supporting-that list for the infamous Windows 7 Boot Camp update, all other iMacs from its generation are. Any ideas?

Bluetooth mouse and keyboard do not work

I purchased an iMac G5 about 6 months ago. I got it with a bluetooth mouse and keyboard. I have had trouble with it from day 1. Apple had me replace the logic unit, and it worked for a couple of weeks. Then as soon as the 90-day warranty for complimentary service ran out, it began working sporadically. Now it doesn't work at all. It says I don't have a bluetooth module installed or attached to my computer (which is what it said before the logic unit was replaced. The computer works fine with a USB mouse and keyboard. Had I known bluetooth was so tempermental and difficult, I sure wouldn't have got it with my computer.
Unless there is a smart person out there who knows what is going on, I guess I need to buy a new USB keyboard and mouse. Anybody interested in buying a bluetooth keyboard and mouse cheap?

The warranty period on your mac is 1 year. The complimentry phone service period is 90 days unless you have a hardware problem. I'd say you likely have a hardware problem and will not be charged for the phone call.
I'd suggest 2 things:
1. Sign up for Applecare as has been recommended countless times.
2. Make the call to tech support and see what they say about your problem.

Brand new IMac 27 bluetooth mouse and keyboard not connecting for eight minutes after start up.

I have a new imac 27 that has worked flawlessly for three weeks.
All of a sudden, when starting up the mac boots fine but the bluetooth mouse and keyboard are non responsive. This state is maintained for between 7 and 8 minutes then both mouse and keyboard start working and continue doing so for the rest of the day....until the next restart and the whole saga repeats itself.
Both sets of batteries are fully charged.
I have scoured different sites and tried any suggestion that made any sense, to no avail. All I am able to do at the moment is to do the time, wait the 7 to 8 mins. and then all's good.
My first Mac and this is very annoying especially as Apple must be aware of this issue but no solution is forthcoming!
Any suggestions/workarounds would be great.

if you are using rechargeable batteries sometimes they don't stay charged for as long as they should try using alkalaine batteries and see if the issue still persists.
also try doing an SMC reset, the following article tells how to do this:

Except, when I check the keys on the keyboard viewer, these keys still do not work. The webpage guides me through and at this point I do not know what to do next, because the keyboard is still not working properly. I wish my suggestion had gotten you further.
I do suggest you try to connect the keyboard again. The request for a number is a step in it trying to pair. If it gets by the number, it sometimes takes a little while to get connected. If you are unable to get it connected and want a new one, I have been using Apple Bluetooth keyboards for years - and I like them. The one I have (the newest model) only uses two batteries and is very thin.
Speaking of batteries, if you are not already doing so, you might consider rechargeables. I have a drawer full of them and use a 15 minute charger. I go tired of buying batteries and rechargeables are environmentally friendly to boot. At the moment, I use 2450 mAh Energizers and a 15 minute Energizer charger (all purchased new on eBay at a very reasonable price).
I am far from an iPad "expert," although I have one. If my suggestion below does not help, post your question in a separate thread in the iPad forum.
I had a terrible time syncing my iCal on my Mac with my iPad iCal (confusing - hopefully it makes sense). I quit using iCloud as that added to the confusion. There is a facility to one-time sync items. When you connect your computer to your iPad, iTunes opens. The system begins a process (automatic backup and so on). After it finishes, you can click on "info." At the bottom of the screen, there is an advanced section. You can select any of the items and then force it to sync. The iCal information from your computer would be deposited on the iPad.
After all that, I do not use a Google calendar so the information may be worthless to you.
If you want to reset the iPad to factory settings, you can do that when it is connected to iTunes (one of the options). Me being me, I try never to erase anything.

I have the solution!!!!!!!
After months of irritating trying....
I installed usboverdrive
then deinstalled it
from earlier sessions had installed magicprefs --> now I could configure my mouse
And magic my mouse still works after a 'sleep'
