Mighty mouse and keyboard

Hi,
I have an imac 24" for a year now and the last week my mighty mouse (wireless) and my new keyboard (usb) seems to loose the settings and i have to go back to system preferences to reconfigure the mouse buttons.e.g mouse button for dashboard doest respond same for expose. keyboard f13 that was set for expose too doesnt work.any help?

Yes, I am. But for me at last, getting rid of my mousepad was the simple solution.
I did tried the paper under it that someone suggested, and even changed the sensitivity of the MM in System Preferences to no avail. Then I threw away my mousepad, frustrated and angry... and the Mouse was Mighty again. Now I use it right over the plain wood surface of my desk without any misbehavior.

I have spent the past 2 days restarting my computer to get it to recognize bluetooth mighty mouse and keyboard for imac. Now it see's neither, even with brand new batteries in each. Have had to revert to older keyboard and mouse (both bluetooth). Ideas?

Bluetooth Mighty Mouse and Keyboard not working in Win XP!

Hi All,
I simply cannot get my Bluetooth Mighty Mouse and Keyboard to work in Win XP via Bootcamp! The bluetooth icon appears in the tray and even shows that they are connected but they do nothing at all. One thing to note is that they show up as connected but with no password. Could this be the problem? If I reconnected the two with new passcodes for XP, would they still work when I reboot in OSX?

Bootcamp, Mighty Mouse and Keyboard not working

Hi All,
I just install yesterday Windows 7 (Ultimate 64bits) by Bootcamp in my iMac 21" (bought in 2013).
During the installation, the Mighty Mouse and the keyboard were not working (except the first W7 screens, selecting partition and language), and now, installation finished, i got to use an external keyboard to select username and password, because Mighty Mouse and Wireless Keyboard are not working with Windows.
I restart the computer using OSX and both are working fine.
Could you please help me?

seems like my mighty mouse scroll ball stopped working. it can only go up and not down or side to side. checked all the settings in mouse prefs look normal. any suggestions? also my keyboard f keys arent working.f10-f11 specifically? is my keyboard and mouse dead?

Mighty Mouse and wireless keyboard stop working

Just got my iMac yesterday and everything worked out of the box. But once yesterday and once so far today, the wireless mighty mouse and keyboard stopped working.
Today I noticed after the mouse stopped moving the cursor, the little green light on the bottom of the mouse was blinking. I turned off the mouse and turned it back on, but the green light still blinked and the mouse still didn't work.
The only thing that did something was the power button on the iMac. I had to turn off the iMac and turn it back on. Then the keyboard and mouse worked again.
What's going on? Do I need to get the iMac repaired?

Try deleting this file. com.apple.bluetooth.plist
/Users/YourName/Library/Preferences. Drag that file from the Preferences folder to the Trash, empty the Trash and reboot.
If that doesn't help, make sure the batteries are charged. Go to System Preferences/Keyboard&Mouse. Click the Bluetooth tab. Your battery levels are displayed there. When it gets down to one green bar on the left, install new batteries.
If none of the above helps, turn the mouse and keyboard off. Delete the mouse and keyboard from the System Preferences/Bluetooth devices window. Select the mouse in the window on the left, then click the minus - button. Now open the slider on the mouse so the green light blinks. Click + which will launch the Bluetooth Setup Assistant. Just follow the instructions. Same for the keyboard. If you still have issues with the wireless hardware, I'd take it back. You have 14 days in case you need to replace the iMac.

Mac Mini and Bluetooth Recent Problems (Mighty Mouse, Wireless Keyboard)

Hello there,
I have an issue with my Mac Mini.
We had a storm here recently, so I switched my Mac off. After that, I turned it on, but to my surprise my Wireless Mighty Mouse and Wireless Keybord do not function any more. The green dot under the mouse nad keyboard flashes for a few seconds and turns off. I tried to plug my regular mouse and keyboard but it seems the do not work too. Any solutions?

i dont know if you have another mac around but have you tried repairing the disk by putting it into Target disk mode and hooking up another mac to it? if nothing else, try putting the install CD/DVD and boot from there by holding down "c" as it boots. if that works then it may just be a bad BT card. if it doesnt work then you may have bad usb ports. i hope you have applecare!
a tip for bluetooth HIDs, spread them apart. you will experience problems on occasion where their signals get crossed and they fail to sync right.
by the way, if you went the extra mile to turn off your mac because you were concerned about it, then why didnt you just unplug it from the outlet?

Mighty Mouse and Wireless Keyboard with Final Cut Studio

Hello,
I'm looking into picking up the Mighty Mouse and the Wireless Keyboard, but I've noticed that the keyboard has some set backs.
It's missing the right side. This bothers me because I use the arrows very frequently to navigate through my timeline - they're very helpful for several reasons. Will I be able to assign keys on my wireless keyboard to do the same actions as these arrows.
Please let me know if any out there has any input at all. Also, let me know if there is anything else that I may be missing before I commit a consumer error.

If you're talking about the Aluminum (super-thin) wireless keyboard, it certainly has arrow keys.
What's missing is the numeric keypad and the home, end, page up/down buttons.
The numeric keypad is a kind of a big deal for those of us who make use of the number pad key shortcuts to disable/enable AutoSelect (Command-Numeric Zero toggles all Video Tracks, Option-Numeric Zero toggles all Audio Tracks). OK, so that describes maybe 15 people out of the millions of users. But, thankfully, you can use Button Bars to replace those functions.
The numeric keypad is also important if you use the Multicam keyboard layout, but that can be replaced by Button Bars.
Don't like the mouse and keyboard that you have now?

Mighty Mouse and Wireless Keyboard

I purchased a Mighty Mouse and a Wireless Keyboard at the Apple Store today...unfortunate to my stupidity the keyboard won't work.
I was told I could get both to work. The Mighty Mouse works swimmingly, however the Wireless Keyboard can't connect. How can I get it to connect to my computer? I heard something about a Bluetooth USB wire or something along the lines of that, but how would I go about getting one?
Help is greatly appreciated

Does your computer have built-in Bluetooth, or an external Bluetooth adapter? If not, there's your problem.

Windows 7 and Wireless Mighty Mouse, Wireless Keyboard and sound problem

I just installed Windows 7 x64 Ultimate on my iMac 24" white ( OS X Leopard 10.5 ). Surprisingly, it installed without any problems. The only problems I have now are the Wireless Mighty Mouse and the Wireless Keyboard ( alu ).
After I installed Windows I inserted the Leopard Instal DVD and installed Boot Camp. I got a message right away saying that: "This program has known compatibility issues...". I clicked Run program and continued. Soon I got the same warning, but this time not for Boot Camp, but Intel Chipset Device Software. I clicked Run program yet again and it continued installing. Then I got a different warning: "Service KeyAgent' failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services." I clicked Ignore and installation continued. I got another "Service Mac HAL' failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services." warning, clicked Ignore again and after that it finished soon and I restarted the computer.
When I came back into Windows there was no Apple folder anywhere or any sign that I have just installed Boot Camp ( should there be? )
I installed Boot Camp Update 2.1 for Windows XP ( because Vista x64 version wouldn't start ) and basically I got the same warnings I did when I installed Boot Camp from the Leopard DVD ( described above ). I also tried to instal Boot Camp Update 2.2 for Windows, but it didn't start. I also downloaded Bluetooth Update 1.0, but all I got was a message saying: "This update is not intended for this computer and will not be installed.".
There is also no sound.
This is basically it, I really hope some of you who run Windows 7 with wireless keyboards and mice can help me, because I desperately need this to work ( I use a Windows only program for school ).
PS. I have a 2007 iMac 24" white and while it is not on the we're-not-supporting-that list for the infamous Windows 7 Boot Camp update, all other iMacs from its generation are. Any ideas?

I have messed up the settings on my Mighty Mouse and don't know where they should be. I cannot open a document by double-clicking anymore. I don't know what setting adjusts that.

I think you need to un-pair your mouse. Leave it a few minutes than re-pair it as if you were starting from scratch and using the following details. Item 1 will probably meet your needs.

Wireless mouse and Keyboard Issue after closing the lid - external display

Can anyone give any insight. Recent purchase of a new Late 2008 15" MBP. I have connected it to an external 24" Apple monitor on my desk and use a wireless mouse and wireless keyboard on my desk top. I have configured the laptop to wake on bluetooth devices. So here is the problem: The laptop when the lid is up recognizes the bluetooth keyboard and mouse. I close the lid/screen. Laptop powers down... the after several seconds I move the mouse and the laptop comes alive... But after that there are no bluetooth devices attached. When I use the mouse, I get "connection lost" with a white figure of the mighty mouse on the screen. The wireless keyboard is not there and I have to open the lid and manually find the mouse and reconnect. The keyboard seems to work however....
Apple..... any thoughts..... anyone?????

Hi Stentdoc; I'm thinking, 'connection lost ~= sorta low AA batteries in the Mighty Mouse? (I would put in fresh AA batteries in the mouse and keyboard, to eliminate as an issue that the 'connection lost' is due to low batt voltage; that this is causing the failure to wake.) ... then, in System Preferences > Hardware > Energy Saver, settings for Power Adapter > Sleep, set to "never" for "Put the computer to sleep when it is inactive for ..." to eliminate that as a conflict when trying to wake with bluetooth from sleep induced by closing the lid ...
Check your current "Sleep" setup (I left my MBP as "3")
go to Utilities > Terminal
After you launch Terminal, the first step is to determine which sleep mode your Mac is currently using. You can both view and change the sleep mode using the Unix program pmset. To see your current settings, type (or, copy and paste)
pmset -g | grep hibernatemode
press 'enter'
You should see something like this:
$ pmset -g | grep hibernatemode
hibernatemode 3
So your machine is using mode 3 ... thanks to the documentation for the handy Deep Sleep Dashboard widget, which puts your machine immediately into hibernation mode (so you don’t have to yank all the power sources to invoke it):
* 0 - Old style sleep mode, with RAM powered on while sleeping, safe sleep disabled, and super-fast wake.
* 1 - Hibernation mode, with RAM contents written to disk, system totally shut down while “sleeping,” and slower wake up, due to reading the contents of RAM off the hard drive.
* 3 - The default mode on machines introduced since about fall 2005. RAM is powered on while sleeping, but RAM contents are also written to disk before sleeping. In the event of total power loss, the system enters hibernation mode automatically.
also, I enabled this (to change back, input "lidwake 1":
go to Utilities > Terminal
type in sudo pmset lidwake 0 then "enter"
it will ask for your password. type it in, that's it!
Now, when your computer is sleeping with the lid closed, when you open the lid nothing happens until you press any key ... nice: keeps it off when accidentally opened, like in a backpack?

i have an apple Bluetooth Keyboard and wireles mighty mouse. Since i have installed leopard months ago it was working fine but then my mouse and keyboard stopped pairing with my Powerbook it recognises the devices but the refuse to pair i changed the batteries and installed the software that cam ith the keyboard and mouse and still nothing works.

After updating to 10.5.2 I am still experiencing problems with my Apple wireless mouse and keyboard. This is a Leopard issue ( here is just one blog on the topic
http://aralbalkan.com/1086 ) in 2005 I purchased a Mac Mini which I love and never experienced a Bluetooth problem till I installed Leopard several months ago, now at least once a week, on average 2-3 times a week, I loose connection with the keyboard or the mouse and it takes awhile to re-establish the connection. I was hoping the last upgrade would address this issue but no such luck.

Mighty Mouse causing keyboard problems?

I just recently bought a wireless Mighty Mouse, and, after having installed it, all of my F buttons (dim screen, brighten screen, expose, dashboard, etc.) on my MacBook's keyboard are incorrect. My forward one track button is now the expose, and my volume up button is the dashboard. Aside from those and one or two others, the rest don't even do anything when pressed. I tried going to my keyboard/mouse preferences and restoring everything to it's default setting, but that did nothing. I also tried moving said F keys back to their original settings/keys, which I did succeed in, partially, but my volume up, volume down, mute, track forward, pause/play, track backward, keyboard brighten, keyboard dim, screen brighten, and screen dim keys still do nothing.
You could probably guess that this is extremely annoying, so, all answers are greatly appreciated.

Can anyone help with the latest correct fix for the problem of wireless keyboard and mouse using windows 7 on boot camp pleeeeeeze?
I bot a wired keyboard to finish the install on the boot camp partition and only have 2 weeks to return the keyboard so I am desperately trying to get the wireless periph's to work on the windows side. aside from that the OS on the windows side does not recognize the numeric keypad part of the wired larger keyboard.
