Mighty Mouse/Mice "Freezes" On Windows 7 w/ iMac... Solutions?

Hi.
I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit on a Mac OSX 10.7 using Bootcamp 3.0.
I'm using an iMac 21.5" Late 2009 model.
There seems to be some connectivity issues with Mighty Mouse's Bluetooth and Windows 7.
As I tend to move the mouse, it begins to "glitch up" and freeze... this happens randomly
at any given moment for a couple of seconds.Sort of a jerkiness motion. Before it would make
a "BEEP" sound.
I've already taken some measures to solving this issue.
1. Through services.msc, I set "connectivity" to Automatic
2. Through the Bluetooth settings on system tray, it does NOT alert for connectivity.
Despite these resolution attempts it still doesn't seem to work.
Does anyone have a solution to make the Mighty Mice work properly?
Thanks for your help.

There is a Boot Camp forum, because your issue only seems to be with in Win 7 I'd recommend reposting there.

I use Macbook Pro unibody core 2 duo 2.8ghz and 4gb ddr3 and hd 500gb
    thanks!!!

I had to uninstall "Apple Mobile Device USB Driver" in device manager.
Then, scanned for hardware changes and the Apple device driver installed again.
Now everything is fine and I can browse to my pictures on Windows explorer.

  • Bluetooth Mighty Mouse keeps freezing after upgrading to Leopard

My bluetooth mighty mouse has frequent, intermittent freezes (which appear to be a loss of sync to the iMac) after upgrading to Leopard (now 10.5.1) from 10.4.11 on my iMac 24" alum body. This mouse was rock solid on my iMac running Tiger. Luckily I do have a corded mouse which I've been forced to use the past week or so.
    Can anyone suggest anything?
    Thanks.

I was just trying to help my Dad with the same exact issue (Mighty Mouse stops working on waking from sleep & trying to open bluetooth prefs at that point causes the system to lock up. Have to hold down power button to reboot)
Oddly I have Leopard on my iMac 2.16 Core 2 Duo and have no issues with my Mighty Mouse.
Hopefully someone comes up with an answer .... My Dad is 80 and just bought a new Powerbook and Mighty Mouse. It's hard to explain why the mouse doesn't work.

  • Can bluetooth mighty mouse be used with windows XP?

i installed XP with bootcamp, and my mighty mouse worked the install of windows and everything, until i actuallly got into windows... any ideas?

It works fine. After setup (use 0000 as pas code) the bluetooth device, you can use it. Upon logging in to the XP, just click once using mouse and then mouse will start working.
However, not all the functions for mighty mouse (like horizontal scrolling, side button etc) works in WinXp side.

  • Mighty mouse: installing it in windows requires a "passkey"

i just bought a mighty mouse and it works fine in os x 10.5.7. trying to install it in windows on the same mac, i am asked to enter the passkey for the mouse. you can get far by choosing the option "no passkey", but to complete the installation they ask for it again. what might this passkey be? tried searching the mouse packaging, and also tried entering the number on the mouse without success. tried all the standard 1111s and 00000s etc. help!

    Hi and welcome to Discussions,
the default passkey for the wireless Mighty Mouse is '0000' (four zeros).

  • Apple wireless Mighty Mouse not working in Windows XP Pro/Boot Camp

I was able to get Windows XP Pro to install successfully on my new iMac, but I can only get a wired Microsoft USB mouse to work with it. When I boot to WinXP with just my wireless Mighty Mouse, the wireless mouse is completely unresponsive. Has anyone else experienced this, and is there a solution? Thanks!

  • Wired Mighty Mouse and right click on my intel  imac

    Hi,
    This is a stumper!
    1) Wired mighty mouse stated to lose right click functions. Control click
works fine but right click with menus is gone.
    2) Tried steer mouse. No change
    3) Deleted hidmouse user prefs. No change.
    4) System Archive and install. no change
    5) Clean install and Account reinstall (by hand). no change
    6) Nuke and Pave. no change
    7.) Pram reset. no change
    8) Mouse works on other Macbook- not a mouse problem.
    9) Second Mighty mouse exhibits the same problem.
    10) logging into second account. no change
    11) Other 2 button mice work!
    12) I like my mighty mouse, but I need right click!!
    13) Tried Apple Dev hid driver debug . no change
    14) Tried a bunch of other things but this has me stumped....
(and I'm Apple Certified) any other suggeestions or software
I can try? Context plugins are ok...but I'm not sure if there are other prefes to deleted? Also, a totally fresh install should have fixed this...what's going on here? I need to know.

What is strange about my mighty mouse which also experiences similar issues is that you have to be careful where you are pushing it. My right tbutton is set as a control click but if I don't push it in the very upper right hand of the mighty mouse it behaves as a single click. The left hand button, as such, does not seem to be as sensitive to placement as the right hand one. For a long while I could not get it to work at all, until I figured out where I actually had to strike it.
I had never used a mighty mouse until I purchased a new iMac a couple of weeks ago and just figured it was "operator difficulty" as I am far more used to a trackball than a mouse. I may still go back to one if I can't get used to this mouse. I think you really have to put your whole hand over the mouse to make it function properly and I tend not to do that.
Does this help you with your issue? I am not sure, maybe there is some sort of difference in the way the mighty mouse works with new hardware?
Good Luck! Wish I had more to offer other than trying carefully to position your handin difernt places and see if that helps.

  • Cleaning scrollball on a mighty mouse -EUREKA! i've found an easy solution

gotta hand it to a clerk at my local apple store, this tip is right on the money.
i had problems with the mighty mouse scrollball sticking...not wanting to scroll down. i tried lots of tips i'd read online. i flipped it over, blew on it, wet the ball with a damp rag, ran it upside down on a piece of paper, and could never manage to keep it fixed for more than a few minutes. until this.
take a paper towel and fold it lengthwise one or two times. apply a line of basic rubbing alcohol to the paper towel. unplug the mouse and hold it upside down. using a moderate pressure, roll the scrollball along the moisened area of the paper towel - back and forth and then side to side. in my case, i could see dark streaks of dirt appear on the paper towel. after drying the scrollball off with a clean paper towel, it was good as new. it hasn't scrolled so effortlessly since it was first new.
i'm told any computer-type alcohol wipes will do the trick. this was cheap, easy and for me, effective.
just wanted to pass it along

    Hello drandall
Most likely that Apple Store clerk found that trick here in the Discussion Forum! I not trying to crash your party, but the ol' Rubbing Alcohol Trick® has been around here a long time!

  • Boot Camp, Aluminium Bluetooth Keyboard & Mighty Mouse not seen by Windows

I recently installed bootcamp (win xp pro sp2), and am unable to get windows to recognise my bluetooth keyboard and mouse. they work fine in OSX, and i know that the bluetooth drivers are good in windows because i can connect to my phone. I think the problem may be with pairing them with multiple computers, because while trying to figure out why it wasnt working i attempted to pair the keyboard with my ibook g4, and was unable untill i removed it from my MBP through system prefs. I have searched high and low and havent been able to find a solution, any help would be greatly appreciated.
    thanks

What I have had to do, after booting into Windows, is toggle the mouse and keyboard power off and on. After about 3 or 4 seconds, Windows finally "sees" the input devices and everything works fine. It is a pain, I know.

  • My wired mighty mouse just freezes especially after start-up

My keyboard works just fine. It's just my mouse that keeps freezing especially after my iMac starts-up after shutdown during the night.
Do you have any idea what's wrong?

Mine is doing the same thing. I am completely new to this and thought Apples were more trouble free. That is why I bought one in the first place. I found something about this issue on the support page and downloaded the latest OS and a patch fot the keyboard, to no avail. I have tried all the USB ports with no change. Is there a support number I can call with problems? I haven't found one on the web site. Good luck with your problem and please post back if you get it resolved as I would really like to know what fixes it.

  • Mighty Mouse (wired) freezes sometimes. unplugging and replugging fixes it.

Not a big problem but kind of aggravating at times. The cursor freezes on the screen and the keyboard will not work. When I unplug the keyboard for about 5 seconds and plug it back in it is fine.
I AM using an extension cable to extend the keyboard because the stock one is too short. I don't know if this would be the cause or not.
Has anyone had any similar problems?

I supposed I could do that but it's an intermittent problem so I don't know how long it would take. I was hoping someone had already run into this specific problem and figured out what the cause was.

  • Driver for wired mighty mouse driver in windows xp pc

I'm looking for drivers for the wired apple mouse aka mighty mouse to run in windows xp pro to have horizontal scrolling.  Currently the generic plug & play driver allows vertical scrolling and horizotal only if the vertical scroll is not present.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

I have a MBP running Bootcamp 1.1.2 and XP SP2. My Bluetooth Mighty Mouse works well within XP with the exception of the left-right scrolling.
First I installed the mouse in the OSX operating system. Then when I booted in XP, I used the "Bluetooth Devices" from the control panel to find and connect the mouse with no problems.
I didn't have to worry with any mouse driver installation.
Is Bluetooth working in XP mode?

  • Mighty Mouse and Windows XP on  MacBook

    Hello Gurus
I am trying to connect my might mouse with XP. There is a point during bluetooth configuration when windows requests a passkey for the mighty mouse. I asked windows to pair the device with now passkey but the system later asked for a passkey anyway. Doed anyone know how to connect the mightmouse with windows xp.
    Thank You.

Have you tried either 0000 or 1234? Every Bluetooth device I've ever used responds to one or the other.
