Mighty mouse moves too slow

Does anyone know how to increase movement speed?
I've already set Tracking speed to the maximum in Preferences, but it's still not enough.
Is there any other way to increase movement speed except using third party software like SteerMouse?

Hello again:
I do not know of any setting in OS X (besides the one you mention) that will affect the mouse tracking speed.

  • Mighty mouse laser too powerfull !

I bought my first mighty mouse and had a right-click problem with it (not working an intermitant way, I had to reset to get it back).
Then I changed it, the right-click is okay, but I have another issue :
It is difficult to "drag & drop" the mouse on the table the regular way you do with a mouse. The laser still "see" the table when I lift the mouse to move my arm, the cursor does move with it at the beginning of my movement.
The solution is to lift my hand a bit more, but it is not confortable for me.
I have the sensation I did not have this issue with my first mighty.
Any one do have the same experience ?

Hmm I can't quite imagine that someone could gain access and make that happen... unless you are set up for remote desktop access and someone has discovered your password?
There was meant to be a bluetooth exploit that this guy claimed to have created a worm for a while back but this was aparently patched quite a while ago, and tbh i'm not really sure how genuine that threat was. there seems to be an increacing amount of people claiming to have found exploits just to try and get paid off by apple and the security companies seem to focus there efforts on creating viruses to make their software worthwhile.
Anyway, i think this is more of a slight glitch which is what we get for the forbiden act of purchasing prety much a 1 gen product... i know there was a bluetooth mouse before this one but it was pretty different.
hopefully therer will be a firmware update in the near future to iron out these little snags for us.

  • Trackpad is working very well but my usb mouse acts too slow and erratically?

I tried all the usb plugs and different types of mouses but it acts erratically and slow specially when i use couple softwares at the same time. Trackpad works perfectly even though i use couple softwares. Can someone help pls?

Your mouse must be the Mighty mouse and in that case the likely problem is the scroll wheel.  This tends to get clogged up with all manner of detritus picked up from a desk.  Here is a link showing how to approach cleaning it.
Let us know how you get on.

  • Mighty mouse cord too short..?

On the iBook g4 the usb ports are both on the left side, but i am right handed, and the mighty mouse's cable is very short making it hard to use...Anyone else find this or have any suggestions?

An extension cable would more than likely work, especially since the mouse operates at 1.5 Mbit/sec. A mini hub with separate or captive cable would theoretically work better as an extension since you're not directly transmitting across two different (full and mini sized) cable configurations and a connector. You could also relocate a bunch of your devices to the right side as long as all your stuff plugged in uses less than 500 mA.
If you live near a Fry's Electronics, they often have cheap (sub $4) USB mini hubs on sale. There's also no reason why a full-spec USB cable or extension should cost more than $1. They're made by the boatload in China for 20 cents each, and I've bought them in bulk at online retailers for $1 each.

  • Mouse movement extremely slow after publishing

    Hello,
I am using Adobe Captivate 4 to create a air traffic training with examples of reroutes (specified routes that flights are often required to take)  and my output is in Flash SWF/HTM.  In one of my slides I am demonstrating "browsing" a reroute where the user takes the mouse pointer and drags it over the path of a reroute on the display (which is a map of the US) which produces a specific effect.  My problem is that the movement of the pointer on my pc is fine when I play the training but the movement of the pointer on the pc of the developer I am working with is very slow when he plays it.  What takes about 3 seconds on my pc takes 20 seconds on his.
I may need to take this feature out of the training but thought I would ask if anyone had ideas on why this is happening?
    Thank you,
    Leslie

Your backup drive is too small.  It should be at least twice as big as your original if using Time Machine.  Do not use Time Machine simultaneously with your work.  Customize its start and stopping through the Apple menu -> System Preferences.
Also check you do not have Mackeeper installed.  If you do, it can be a problem.  This tip has links to how ot remove if you do:

  • Randomly jumpy mighty mouse (bt) pointer and trackpad too (once only)

    Gents,
I have recently noted that, sometimes (randomly and rarely for the time being), the pointer of my bluetooth MM (Mighty Mouse) moves farther than what I was expecting it to move. This happened probably in concomitance with the opening of some application, as Iphoto. In other words, it appeared to me that the pointer accelerated more than what I demanded it to move with the displacement of the mouse. It was not really a jump but almost one, like a transitory, but contained, loss of pointer control.
I believe that a similar event occurred also once with the trackpad pointer when I went to the bottom of the screen to make dock appear in concomitance with a skype call launch....the pointer seemed to move fast to the right although I am quite sure it was not my finger to command this motion on the pad.
I have tried (with respect to MM) to delete and recreate the bluetooth .plist but it did not prevent from having this occurrence (note also that the batteries are OK).
I have read in some other forum that this might be due to OSX pointer acceleration (not perfect) management, but I would like to be comforted by any similar feedback / experience of yours.
    Thanks
    Cheers

I had a similar problem. I would move my mouse across the screen but randomly it would "catch" or "get stuck" very briefly throughout its movement. Like something was holding it back. I tried replacing mousepads, deleting the Bluetooh connection and re-pairing, deleting preference files...nothing. I even tried buying two new mice but they all had the same problem.
I headed to an Apple Store and a Genius reproduced the problem. He had not heard of this before but it was clearly reproducible in front of his eyes. And sure enough, my Mighty Mouse was working fine on other Macs. So they set up repair job to replace my Bluetooth chipset (which is integrated into the display so they had to replace the display). A day later I picked it up and it works perfectly!
I suggest going to an Apple Store and getting your Bluetooth chip replaced!

  • Wireless Mighty Mouse unresponsive during Bluetooth connection to K800i

Whenever I use Bluetooth to sync my Sony Ericsson K800i with my Mac, I notice that my Wireless Mighty Mouse sometimes becomes slow and unresponsive. I have to switch the mouse off and on again, after switching off Bluetooth on the phone, for the mouse to go back to normal.
I am using a third-party plugin to provide iSync support for this phone, but I don't know if that would make a difference. I never had this issue with my K750i.
Any suggestions would be very welcome!
    iMac Core 2 Duo 20"   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

The combo update rolls up all the patches Apple has released since 10.5 hit the shelves into one monster download; so you don't need to have installed 10.5.3 to install 10.5.4 - you can go from any version. Some users swear that applying the combo update makes for a more reliable Mac, and it fixed my Mac problem.
But beware the combo is over 1/2 Gb in size and will take a good while to download, even on a DSL connection. You can find it on the Apple downloads page at:
    http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/
There are separate versions for the regular version of MacOS X and the more specialised server edition, so make sure you download the correct version (most people just need the file named Mac OS X 10.5.4 Combo Update).
Once you've got the update, close any applications you are running (remembering to save your data), double-click the update to start and follow the instructions. You will have to restart your machine at the end of the installation and rebooting may take a little longer than normal - this only happens the first time you restart your machine. Hopefully you'll be back in business as soon as you see the login prompt.
    HTH.
    Mike.

  • After web page finish, mouse movement and scroll up down very slow.

After web page finish loading, both mouse movement and scrolling that page is very slow.
I compare the same page on MS internet explorer and have no problem.

Thanks for both of these answers. I am finding that I do not
like the totally manual method all that much (but it does work).
Using the PrintScreen-before-and-after-each-action method seems a
little better for me. Either method requires way too much editing
for a simple "let me show you" movie. I have moved on to version 3
since it seems to behave a little better.
I think it is odd how sometimes Captivate puts an action
(like a mouse click) on a background from *two* slides previous.
Why would it ever go backward - especially skipping over the
previous slide to get an even older screen. If I have forced a
screen capture, you would think it would stay with that.
I realize that I am not using Captivate where its strengths
seem to be (eLearning) but there must be a lot of people capturing
demos of web-based material. Does everyone have this
    problem?

  • Mighty Mouse slow when computer busy

In January I bought a MacBook Pro to replace a Macbook and am using the same mighty mouse that I used with the macbook. I sometimes copy large files from my server to my macbook or the other way around. While the copy function is going on my mighty mouse lags badly so that it's almost not useable. As soon as the copy is finished it goes back to normal speed again. Same thing happens when I'm downloading something from the net. I'm also using a wireless keyboard with and a Samsung Syncmaster monitor. It did not behave this way with my macbook.
I've deleted the mouse and reinstalled it.
I've made the mouse a favorite
    Any other suggestions?

Hello! The "low power" message means one of the usb devices was drawing too much power and the Mac "tripped out" the usb port. Some G5's have the pmu/smu button as shown HERE while later models do not. To reset the button type press the button once (sometimes you have to have all external cables unhooked) and for one that doesn't unplug all ext cables and let it sit for 30 min. or so to reset the pmu. I'd also repair permissions in disk utility once rebooted. Here's additional info on it. Tom

You may not be able to get a refund, since the terms of sale for the iTunes Store state that all sales are final. You can contact the iTunes Store, explain the reason for your request, and ask, though:
    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact.html
It's possible they'll make an exception for you, particularly if the problem was on their end preventing the movie from downloading in a reasonable time.
    Good luck.

  • My bookmark menu moves too fast when I try to pick a submenu with my mouse.

My bookmark menu moves too fast when I try to pick a submenu with my mouse.
When I am trying to surf to a website using my bookmark menu and
navigating with my mouse, I click Bookmarks, then a main menu item, and then a submenu item. While moving my mouse from the main menu item to the submenu item, if I happen to stray off the main menu item briefly before I get to the submenu item, Firefox picks the wrong submenu item. I ran a utility program recently to "speedup" Firefox on the internet, but I did not want to speed up the menu operation. Please help me get the menu delay back.

You can check for problems with the <b>places.sqlite</b> database file in the Firefox profile folder.

The first time I turned it on it didn't respond at all,can anyone tell how bad the damage really is without actually seeing it ? Do you think maybe it will be just a simple repair or am I looking at a whole new logic board?

Until you take it in so that a technician can look at it, it is all guessing and nothing more.
