Mighty Mouse....not so mighty!

Hmmmm.....Leopard installed nicely by itself while I slept.....but upon use....no mouse! Keyboards fine so bluetooth is working, but screen said to put some batteries in the mouse. Ok! Done....still wants batteries. Hmmmm....get another set....still no go. Plug in a usb mouse from my laptop and woohooo, we have lift off. Go to bluetooth to set up mouse. Cannot find it. Hmmmm......turn it off then on.....woohooo....discovered. Pairing...cannot pair. Hmmmm.....not so woohooo!
Ok...if this was a 3rd party mouse, I could deal with this. But its an Apple mouse that worked just fine pre leopard, now not at all. Whats the go with this? Using my bluetooth keyboard (also apple) to type this so, where to now?? The idea with the iMac was cordless, but leopard not so cordless!
Ideas anyone?

Ever since upgrading to 10.5.1, my bluetooth mighty mouse will stop working. I've tried deleting and re-pairing it, but this only fixes it for a short time. I have to switch to my corded mighty mouse.
Anyone else having bluetooth trouble after the upgrade to Leopard? Any idea on fixes?

Mighty Mouse (not so mighty here lately)

My mighty mouse sat in retirement for about a month because the batteries dies and I just never got around to replacing them. Finally...yesterday I went and bought some batteries (Energizer...not some cheap ones) and put them in. The mouse worked fine for about the first hour. Then it lost connect...then it'd connect...lose connection...connect. Well, maybe the batteries were duds...so I put in new ones. NOT!!! Still randomly disconnecting. I went in and looked at my settings and nothing has changed (that I can see) and I don't get it. I've had this mouse for over a year and this is the first trouble I've had with it. Any help? Suggestions? Ideas?

Okay...so I went back to check the settings again and I got this box when I went to the mouse and keyboard tab in my system preferences
"The Bluetooth tab of Keyboard & Mouse preferences is hidden because you don't have a Bluetooth module installed or attached to your computer."
***? Unless someone snuck into my laptop and removed it...what's the deal?

Mighty Mouse not so mighty rite now

I've had my Mighty mouse since it wuz released late last year n it's been really great but for sum reason my scroll button isn't working like it should lately. well really the only thing thats wrong rite now is that I can't scroll down. I can go up n side to side n when i click it Dashboard activates but not for all in the money in the world will the **** thing scroll down anymore. HELP PLZ. it's drivin me crazy! Thanx;-)

Easy fix, get a cloth, microfiber is best, get it damp, spit works;), turn the mouse up side down and roll the ball in all directions with the damp part of the cloth. Should take care of the problem.

Mighty Mouse - not so mighty now.

OK, firstly apologies - I have a problem with my mouse but as there is no forum for mice and I have a Mac Mini, I'll post here.
My mouse's scroll ball will not scroll downwards, only up and side to side. I thought maybe some dirt has got into the mechanism and tried to take it apart but I got as far as taking the battery cover off and couldn't see how it comes apart, without breaking it.

Bluetooth not working = wireless mighty mouse not working too

I've received an apple wireless mighty mouse from my gf and it's not responding to anything. and my bluetooth icon in the top right of the screen says it's not enable everytime since. So it's surely in my imac the problem. Is there a way i can fix it buy myself or i have to send it to an apple store?
N.B. i have the same problem as the rest of the peps who have the latest update of Leopard

Apple wireless Mighty Mouse not working in Windows XP Pro/Boot Camp

I was able to get Windows XP Pro to install successfully on my new iMac, but I can only get a wired Microsoft USB mouse to work with it. When I boot to WinXP with just my wireless Mighty Mouse, the wireless mouse is completely unresponsive. Has anyone else experienced this, and is there a solution? Thanks!

Need Help.. Mighty Mouse not working in Windows & Internet connection prob

This is my situation.. The new Imac G5, after i installed windows on it. it can detect the mighty mouse but it need a passcode for it. i've tried a few passcode. such as (1111,0000,123456) but it still can't, can someone give me a clue about this situation..?? but the mighty mouse is connected when i'm running mac os X.. n after that i've another problem.. which is the internet connection will disconnect every half an hour when i'm running a windows.. i think that is my internet connection.. but i've already tested the wireless internet connection in my house by using another notebook and it works and not disconnected.. can somebody help me for this problem..?? i will be very happy to hear any solution from you all.. thx a lot before..

Welcome, you should be posting in the intel forum, I'll ask to have your post moved there. You need to pair your mouse with your computer. Open Bluetooth Setup Assistant and follow the instructions, you will b given a code for the mouse.

Mighty Mouse not right clicking

I have noticed that my mighty mouse will NOT work on the right click function, particularly when I am on the desktop. If I am working in mail for instance, it WILL however allow me to right click .
Are there settings or preferences that may have gotten corrupt?
When on the desktop, if i rightclick, i get s slight pause, then the desktop re writes itself, yet no right click menu will appear.

It seems like something is up with your Mac OS X.
Did you try left click and ctrl before you bought your mighty mouse? Or did you always have your might mouse?
Please try the following...go to applications>utilities>disk utility
select your volume and fix permissions, then on the right click on check disk. This will take a couple minutes.
Let me know if you get any errors. Those red type things

Apple Mighty Mouse not staying connected through Bluetooth

I just purchased the Apple Mighty Mouse with my new MacBook Pro. The next day when I come back to the notebook and start up, it does not have the mouse connected. It can see it, but does not automatically connect to it. Does it matter that sometimes I leave the mouse at home and use the notebook. I come back home and I expect that it should know to automatically connect to it when I turn the mouse back on. Sometimes I leave the mouse on without turning it off. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Mighty Mouse not scrolling up

I have the Wireless Mighty Mouse, and a couple days ago, I noticed that it won't scroll up. The ball will go everywhere, and it's all responsive that I see- except for when I want to roll up. I checked, and everything else seems to be working perfect. I also rolled the ball on an piece of paper, and clean it up. Still nothing. If anyone knows what to do, please let me know!

I just bought a magic mouse and downloaded the Better Touch Tool software to expand it functionality. Has anyone done this since I have been able to do ONE functional change to the Magic Mouse, but now I can not find it do to another changed.

MIGHT MOUSE NOT SO MIGHTY

i've dumped my preferences and nothing works. Mr.Mighty mouse just won't scroll up, time and time again. It works fine some time, then just quits again.
i swear, between Adobe and Apple, I think i'm going to scream.
anyone have any suggestions before i go buy another logitech?

I don't have a solution for you other then I would return it and get another. I would never give up my Mighty Mouse though (aside from a little hand pain), I've had not one problem with it yet. I've had several mouses and although logitech is a great mouse (in my opinion), it doesn't compare to the Mighty Mouse (once it works properly). Hope you get the problem fixed. Sorry for not actually helping here, just had to throw in my words.

BT Mighty Mouse not working

My MacPro with Snow Leopard operating in BootCamp mode with Windows XP will not load Mighty Mouse as a viable BT device. It does not recognize the passkey, even with the "no passkey" option. What's up?

Bob, when you say "turning the mouse on and off," you mean, simply, unplugging it from the USB port, right?
The side buttons of my MM just stopped working totally, as if they weren't there. Unplugging and re-plugging seems to have done it.
Sometimes, however, the side buttons seem to take on a life of their own, randomly clicking just when I put my hand on the mouse. It's rather annoying having all my open windows suddenly visible on my desktop, and maybe a random window come back to the front. Anybody else have this experience?

Mighty Mouse not scrolling down

Hello. I have a problem with my mighty mouse. Suddenly it will no longer scroll downwards with the small ball when view web pages/itunes etc., although it will still scroll up. Does this have anything to do with the latest security update that i recently installed? Any help would be appreciated.

I had a similar problem and it turned out that the moving parts inside were just dirty.
I used a slightly damp face cloth and pushed hard against the ball and rolled it around for a few seconds.
This cleaned the bit of dust or whatever was interfering, and it has worked fine since.
I read elsewhere to use rubbing alcolhol instead of water -- but I used a very damp cloth and that did the trick.

Mighty mouse not working

today my mighty mouse "scroll wheel" stopped functioning. Is there a simple test or something i can do to it to see if it is broken? All of the other funtions of it work fine.

Mighty mouse not functioning properly

Originally i had the scroll ball button assigned to expose and the side buttons to spotlight. These worked fine for months until now neither of these work. Instead once the scroll ball button is pressed it allows you to scroll by moving the mouse backwards and forwards. The side buttons dont do anything at all. They're both still assigned as expose and spotlight in the prefrences, yet they dont work. I've tried reinstalling the mighty mouse software but that didnt solve it. I've figured maybe i've installed a plugin, but i dont remember as this problem started months ago.
Does anyone know what seemes to be the problem, and how i can get it to work properly?

And if none of the above suggestions work, then see if repairing permissions & restarting your computer works.

Mighty Mouse not turning on

Hi,
My Mighty Mouse has always worked fine until now. The batteries went and I replaced them in the usual way but it doesn't seem to want to turn on and the light doesn't come on.
I've tried different batteries and clicking lots but the mouse doesn't seem to be working.
Anyone know of any get-arounds or do I need to buy a new mouse?

I have batteries turn out to all be bad in a box so that could still be the issue. You could take it to an Apple store genius bar and have the techs test it to see if something has failed. That will tell you if it is all batteries are bad or the mouse has failed.
