Mighty Mouse(wifi)

Hi! I just bought a wireless mighty mouse, I installed yesterday.
When I paired with my iMac everything worked else the exposé function of the side button.
I looked on config painel and the function is activated. As I was very tired I went to bed, today I tried again and I dont know what is happening. I have two other mouses (mighty mouse with cord and another with cord, they were working, the side button of the cord mighty mouse is working)
Anyone know how to solve this?

I dont understand. just tested with the original batteries and worked. Anyone know how this could happend?
As I used other battery that doesn't worked my mouse can be affected in the future ? I mean maybe that rechargeable battery could do something wrong with the mouse.

  • Mighty Mouse won't scroll in Stickies application

Can anyone tell me if there's a way to get a Mighty Mouse to scroll text inside a Stickie note? My Logitech wireless mouse does it, but when the batteries die I have to use my (wired) Mighty Mouse and it seems to scroll in all applications EXCEPT Stickies (G5 Quad). Even on my wife's G4 PowerBook, her wireless M.Mouse won't scroll in a Stickie note. It seems odd that any 3rd party mice will but the M.Mouse won't. Am I missing something?

Doesn't look like you're missing anything at all, strange indeed though!

  • Cleaning your mighty mouse

dont where to post this, there is no place to post questions on mouse cleaning. i need to open my mighty mouse to clean the track ball. i tried everything the support page said , upside down wiping wife link free cloth cleaning ball. nothing works, i need to open it, why doesnt apple have it so you can open this stupid thing? install they want you to buy a new mighty mouse for 50.00. this is stupid.

Dust, dirt, and such are apt to getting in there. Unplug the mouse, and with a damp cloth, rub up and down, pressing down firmly on the track ball 10-15 times. Repeat side to side, making sure to apply some pressure. This works every time for me when the mouse is acting up or not operating properly.
I have to do this about every other month. Kind of a design flaw with the Mighty Mouse, though I love it and put up with it.

  • Mighty Mouse tracking issue while downloading files

    Hi everybody ...
I'm the owner of the Wireless Mighty Mouse... For about 2 months I'm recognizing a strange behavior.
When I do start a download via Safari (I'm connected to the Internet via Wifi 54Mbits (2,4 GHz)) the mouse tracking start to bucking. During the download no fluent motion occurs. After the download finished the bucking stops and the tracking flows seamlessly. Does anyone have the same problem? I'm not quite sure what the exact problem is but could this behavior result from the connectivity frequency of bluetooth and wifi? And please don't tell me to reset my keyboard or my mouse. I already did that. I also updated to the latest official software update for bluetooth.
    Please help me.
    Thx destinationCloud

    Hi,
I have the same problem, but mine usually shows up when I have MS Word opened for a while. It is as if there is some other process cycling that interferes with the tracking. Sometimes it shows up as a major lag (cursor stutters and moves a little bit for a large hand motion) or the cursor jumps way across the screen. It isn't always when MS Word is opened, but more frequent when it is (occasionally with Pages too). Changing batteries doesn't help, changing surfaces doesn't help. After some time, the problem resolves and mouse moves smoothly again, for a while. This has been more of a problem in the last few months than before.... was the Bluetooth driver changed? Does it have anything to do with a cache that is used before changes are saved?
Where is the Bug Report link... I can never find it. Just put it right on the Support page please, BIG.

  • Odd Wireless Mighty Mouse  behavior with new Mac Pro?

    Hi,
I have a brand new Mac pro and Wireless Apple Mighty Mouse & Keyboard.
The mouse however is not operating properly, it is jerky and slow to respond on a intermittent regular basis. I can move the cursor around the screen but it will stutter and jerk slowly then pick up ok?
I had the mouse and keyboard with my iMac and it worked fine. I have run all updates and re-installed but to no avail. The keyboard is fine.
I suspect it's a hardware issue with my new mac Pro but i'd love it if someone has any other possible causes.
    Thanks.

Hi, there's a quite a few people with similar problems, including myself.
My keyboard likes to drop it's connection for no apparent reason, which in turn likes to mess up my mouse and cause it to stutter for a while. Pairing up new devices can do this too, I've found.
It's been thought that some Mac Pro's came with their WiFi and BT wires incorrectly fitted, if you have a search you should find a link to the tutorial if you want to try switching them around.
That said, it didn't make any difference to my BT keyboard and wireless Mighty Mouse, so I switched them back.
I've been hoping for a software fix, but no joy so far, glad I got a three year warranty as standard.

  • Mighty Mouse and Kensington Slimblade

My wife and I use a MBP and a MBA since SL we cannot get either mouse to behave. Connection is difficult and when connected behviour is erratic and right click on the MBA produces Expose! This appears to be fundamental.

I'll answer my own questions. I have both Mighty Mouse and Kensington's MouseWorks AND Microsoft Mouse all co-existing harmoniously.

  • Mighty Mouse got mad

I just have abandoned in using the mighty mouse with my G5 (dual, 2 GHz, OS 10.5.4):
This is the third one I bought, but every mouse since OS 10.4.10 behaves mad all the sudden: the pointer rushes up or down till it reaches the border of the sreen and crawls there to left or right. If I do Photoshop e.g. using the eraser tool, there are catastrophies unavoidable: the all the sudden the eraser destroyes my picture.
What I have tried: resetting the PRAM, deleting the mouse.plist file, installing a new system from scratch, using an other USB port of the 3 the G5 has.
I have returned to the originally "simple" Apple mouse (white, transparent). There is all ok. But I would like to use the scroll ball ...
    Any help is appreciated!

Oh, I'm sorry that I forgot to mention that aspect:
I think I have tried all kind of "mouse pads" and surfaces: The plain table (wood), an industial mouse pad, a sheet of printed paper, plain white paper, coloured paper.
    No success...
Furthermore I thought about irradiation to the mouse cable by WiFi, our wireless hand phone and electrical power lines (but also no success). For You are doing something with the mouse and suddenly the pointer starts to crawl or jumps to a "most damaging" point (with Murphy) on the screen: You are double clicking a picture on the desktop, but meanwhile the cursor is on the icon of , say, the hard disk util
    I am going cracy, too...

  • Mighty Mouse Lost its Touch Sensitivity

After cleaning the roller ball on my wireless Mighty Mouse its lost ability to have multiple functions. I reset my preferences and still no luck. I now have to set my mouse to only have one primary click for it to work at all. I think the thing is just broken, but maybe someone can help me out.

Sorry mate, don't know. But, if you have AppleCare on your Mac, realise that that warranty extends to most other Apple products that you use with your Mac. This includes your Mighty Mouse and Apple wifi devices if you had any. If you have AppleCare on the Mac, call up AppleCare and initiate a repair which would likely just turn out to be an exchange since they don't repair Mighty Mouse.
    The number is 1-800-APL-CARE

  • Sluggish Wireless Mighty Mouse

Has anyone had trouble with their Mighty Mouse (wireless) become very sluggish after computer awakes from a sleep mode. My symptoms seem to get so bad after that after a day or so I have to restart my computer and then the mouse once again moves freely only to slow down again after about half a day. I have closed as many programs as I could with no improvement. This reminds me of my horrible days when I had a Windows PC and it would slow down too.

This is the serial number to the wireless mighty mouse that I have KY718061ZXXKA. I have tried just about everything. I still have my original wireless mouse that came with my imac and it works fine. Most of the time I find it back in use after my wife has become frustrated with the MM. I have already tried deleting all mouses and keyboard and re-adding them. I have tried just have the MM and nothing works. Like I mention earlier, it will work just fine from anywhere of a day to several days. Then after I awake the computer from a standby mode (screensaver), I then notice the sluggishness. I just switched it out again as I am typing this and it works fine again. I wonder if I should turn off the standby mode of my computer. Seems when it goes into a sleep/standby mode, that is when the trouble starts. As suggested earlier, I also cleaned it in accordance with Apple's recommendations and change the batteries out frequently. At this point I am probably going to go with a wired mouse which I dread given the limited number of USB ports on the imac. I appreciate everyone;s advice. I have read when I googled this that the mighty mouse has always been problematic at best but I really like the right click features and the scroll ball a lot.

  • New Mac Mini and 2006/2007 Wireless Keyboard and Mighty Mouse

Will my old wireless keyboard and mighty mouse from 2006 and 2007 work with the new Mac Mini?

    Thank You!

  • I have messed up the settings on my Mighty Mouse and don't know where they should be.  I cannot open a document by double-clicking anymore.  I don't know what setting adjusts that.

I need help with my Mighty Mouse settings.  Don't understand the settings.  I can no longer open a document by double-clicking.  I think I changed my setting someway when I was trying to correct or find my up and down scrolling.   Please help.

I think you need to un-pair your mouse.   Leave it a few minutes than re-pair it as if you were starting from scratch and using the following details.   Item 1 will probably meet your needs.

  • Bluetooth Mighty Mouse keeps freezing after upgrading to Leopard

My bluetooth mighty mouse has frequent, intermittent freezes (which appear to be a loss of sync to the iMac) after upgrading to Leopard (now 10.5.1) from 10.4.11 on my iMac 24" alum body. This mouse was rock solid on my iMac running Tiger. Luckily I do have a corded mouse which I've been forced to use the past week or so.
    Can anyone suggest anything?
    Thanks.

I was just trying to help my Dad with the same exact issue (Mighty Mouse stops working on waking from sleep & trying to open bluetooth prefs at that point causes the system to lock up. Have to hold down power button to reboot)
Oddly I have Leopard on my iMac 2.16 Core 2 Duo and have no issues with my Mighty Mouse.
Hopefully someone comes up with an answer .... My Dad is 80 and just bought a new Powerbook and Mighty Mouse. It's hard to explain why the mouse doesn't work.

  • Mighty mouse alternative for OSX and XP

Just ordered a Mac Pro - upgrading from G5 Powermac. I got the mighty mouse with the G5 and of course the MP comes with the same. I have gotten used to the mighty mouse to a point but part of the reason for getting the MP is for Windows and gaming. For this I think another mouse with 'real' buttons might be better. What are your recommendations for a quality wired multi-purpose mouse (XP and OSX) and are there any mouses (mice/moose/meece) that have a scroll wheel similar to the might mouse one (very useful in PS etc). I'm not keen on trackball types btw.
    Thanks

The Logitech MX510. Love it w/ Mac and Windows.
I'm a QA engineer w/ Avid and purchased this mouse for multi-button assignment mouse testing on mac and pc. I have one at home now too, it's the cat's meow. (sorry bad joke).
I just couldn't get use to the mighty mouse. Don't dig the "Touch-sensitive top shell".

  • Connect Wireless Mighty Mouse to windows xp pro sp2 on bootcamp

I recently installed windows xp pro sp2 on bootcamp i tried to hook up my Wireless Mighty Mouse and I got basically nowhere. I was able to get the computer to recognize it and i typed in the passkey "0000" and it knows that it is a bluetooth device and I changed the settings of the bluetooth to "always" be discoverable and still I have hit a dead end. I can still not seem to connect the wireless mouse in any way. What do I do???

I FUIGURED IT OUT!!! omg im so happy right now. For anyone who might be wondering I'll tell you how to make it work it you had the same problem. Once you establish the mouse a device, highlight it in the devices menu, then click properties, then services, and once it is done searching check the box for the driver and click apply and your mouse should work.
