Migrate Adobe Livecycle ES to other server

Hi,
We have a Adobe Livecycle ES installation running on Weblogic JBOSS.
We moved the JBOSS folder to our other server, deploy the ear file and that's all.
When a do a test, I get an error HTTP status error 500
Can someone give me a procedure (step by step) to migrate an installation from server A to server B?
Is it necessary to copy the db as well for example? I can't find that kind of info on the internet.

Things to consider:
Is your DB on the same box as your LC.  Did you move your DB also?  Does your new server have the JDBC driver on it (you dont indicate what your DB is)
Did you move your GDS?  How about your LC_TEMP?  Do they exist/accessible from your new server?
Have you considered creating an archive file from your source server, doing a new install on your new server and then importing in your archive?

  • Can I write XML PDF without Adobe LiveCycle ?

    Hallo:-)
    My firm have product to create blank /form/, which we save into our XML format. We want to "save as" forms into XML PDF format.
    But only use XML not PDF into XDP format.
    I read XML Forms Architecture (XFA)Specification Version 2.4 ...
    Is there other resources and samples?
    And Is it possible task?

    I'm not sure that I understand your question. Are you asking whether Adobe Reader can open an XDP file and display it as a PDF even if there's no PDF packet in it? The short answer is no. You can convert an XDP to a PDF using Adobe LiveCycle Designer. If you want to convert to PDF at run time you need a server product - Adobe LiveCycle Forms.

  • Updating Tag Name using Adobe Professional for PDF form created with Tags in Adobe Livecycl Designer

    I have created a form using Adobe Livecycle Designer. These PDF forms have Tags on them when created and generted from Adobe livecycle designer.
    I am able to open the PDF form in the Adobe Profesional 9.0.
    I want to edit / Update the Tags on the PDF form using Adobe Professional 9.0. I am not seeing any option to view the Tags on the forms so that I can edit it while I have open the PDF in the Adobe Professional. The PDF document was created in Adobe Livecycle Designer 9.0
    Please let me know how can I edit the Tags on a PDF form using Adobe Professional for a Form that was created using Adobe livecycle and tags added.
    Thanks,

  • Adobe LiveCycle ES 8.2 Installation Error can't configure the App Server from Config Manager

    Hello All-
    We are trying to install the Adobe LiveCycle ES 8.2 SP2 and we are getting some issues while configuring the Application Server from the Config Manager, not sure why are those showing up, we never had these issues before when we installed 8.0, please look at the lcm log and the screenshot I provided for the errors which we are getting.
    We are trying to configure the remote Application Server WebSphere on Linux from my machine which is on Windows and i made the target Application Server as WebSphere and target platform as linux when i initially installed the livecycle media.
    The LCM logs say it failed to run the jacl scripts in the LiveCycle root directory and we wonder why is it pointing for the target Application Server to the Application Server which resides on my machine rather than it should point to the one on server. I am not sure what's going on and we did exactly what we did for 8.0.
    Below are the environment details where we are trying to install.
    Adobe LiveCycle ES: 8.2 SP2
    Database: IBM DB2 9.1 FP4.
    JVM Version and Vendor: 1.5.0 IBM Corporation
    Application server: IBM WebSphere Application Server/6.1.0.19
    Operating System: Linux
    Hardware: x86 .
    Any help will be appreciated!
    Thanks-
    Karthik.

    Hi All,
    Even i was facing the same issue but i was able to resolve it.
    Although the earlier reply from karthik_chowdary was sent way back in 2008 and i think would have got resolved till now, but still the resolution which i have found is
    The port i was using on the app server conf screen was that of application server HTTP Port.
    But here in case of WebSphere ND, we need to use port specified in WAS UI > System administrator > Deployment manager > Ports
    Try using that by default it is 8879.
    And this resolved the issue.

  • Memory Leak Problem at Adobe LiveCycle Server 9.0

    Hi All,
    We want to upgrade our system to 9.0. During the performance test we have found memory Leak problem at ALS 9.0. I explain the detailed problematic issue below. Is there any body who has any suggest?
    We have Adobe Livecycle ES2 9.0 SP2 installed on WAS 6.1. But also WAS on Windows Server 2008 R2. We call java web services from .Net Web service for generating PDFs.
    On Java side “com/adobe/internal/pdftoolkit/services/javascript/GibsonMemoryTracking” class is causing Memory Leak problem at server.
    Our .Net Codes. I copied below. First we generate PDF then we convert this pdf to static pdf.
    First We call the GeneratePDF function.
    public static bool GeneratePdf(Document document, byte[] pdfTemplate)
            try
                //Create a FormDataIntegrationService object and set authentication values
                FormDataIntegrationService formDataIntegrationClient = new FormDataIntegrationService();
                formDataIntegrationClient.Credentials = new System.Net.NetworkCredential(Settings.ALCUserName, Settings.ALCPassword);
                //Import XDP XML data into an XFA PDF document
                ALCFormDataIntegrationService.BLOB inXMLData = new ALCFormDataIntegrationService.BLOB();
                //Populate the BLOB object
                inXMLData.binaryData = System.Text.Encoding.UTF8.GetBytes(document.XmlData);
                //Create a BLOB that represents the input PDF form
                ALCFormDataIntegrationService.BLOB inPDFForm = new ALCFormDataIntegrationService.BLOB();
                inPDFForm.binaryData = pdfTemplate;
                //Import data into the PDF form
                ALCFormDataIntegrationService.BLOB results = formDataIntegrationClient.importData(inPDFForm, inXMLData);
                document.PdfData = results.binaryData;
                Utility.Log("GeneratePdf", "Pdf generated successfully.", LogLevel.Info);
                return true;
            catch (Exception ex)
                document.ReturnCode = "22";
                document.ReturnMsg = "Exception on generating the pdf";
                Utility.Log("GeneratePdf", "Exception: " + ex.Message, LogLevel.Error);
                return false;
    Then We call the ConvertPDF function.
    public static bool ConvertPdf(Document document)
            try
                //Create a OutputServiceService object
                OutputServiceService outputClient = new OutputServiceService();
                outputClient.Credentials = new System.Net.NetworkCredential(Settings.ALCUserName, Settings.ALCPassword);
                //Create a BLOB object
                ALCOutputService.BLOB inData = new ALCOutputService.BLOB();
                //Populate the BLOB object
                inData.binaryData = document.PdfData;
                //Set rendering run-time options
                RenderOptionsSpec renderOptions = new RenderOptionsSpec();
                renderOptions.cacheEnabled = true;
                //Create a non-interactive PDF document
                ALCOutputService.BLOB results = outputClient.transformPDF(inData, TransformationFormat.PDF, PDFARevisionNumber.Revision_1, false, null, PDFAConformance.B, false);
                document.PdfData = results.binaryData;
                Utility.Log("ConvertPdf", "Pdf converted successfully.", LogLevel.Info);
                return true;
            catch (Exception ex)
                document.ReturnCode = "22";
                document.ReturnMsg = "Exception on converting dynamic pdf to static pdf";
                Utility.Log("ConvertPdf", "Exception: " + ex.Message, LogLevel.Error);
                return false;

    We changed some configuration which is suggested by Adobe. But this change does not solve our problem.
    Changed Configurations via ADMINUI
    Memory Leak Problem which is viewed via wily tool:

    Hi Mahir,
    Can you attach the results of this performance test where we can see how GibsonMemoryTracking class is causing the memory leak issue.
    Also do you see any stackTrace in the LiveCycle server logs related to memory / heap when you run this performance test ?
    Thanks,

  • WebService migration from Websphere to Adobe LiveCycle ES 2.5

    Hi,
    I want to migrate the WebService from existing Websphere server to the LiveCycle ES 2.5
    Requirement is that I need to make sure that client application will require least number of changes. In other words, I should be able to recreate the webservice in LiveCycle ES 2.5 using the WSDL of the existing webservice (that is deployed in WebSphere). But whenever I create a process in workbench it creates a WSDL automatically (it creates webservice endpoint) for that process. In that case I am unable to use my older WSDL (the one which is being used in websphere app). Is there any way that I can use an existing WSDL in LiveCycle ES 2.5 and create a webservice in ES 2.5?
    If I try to use the WebService component of Foundation pack of LiveCycle ES then that won't work in my case because I am not calling any webservice from LiveCycle ES 2.5. Infact I am migrating an external or existing webservice into the LiveCycle without any major change in the WSDL and the client app.
    I have couple of approaches in mind but want to know what is the right, easier and cleaner way to do. Please advise!!
    Thanks in advance!

    I'm not sure I completely understand the question.  Is the existing webshere based web service a LiveCycle service?  If so  then the service should have very few changes when you move it to  LiveCycle running on a different application server.
    Yes, web service end points are automatically created for LiveCycle services by the LiveCycle software.  The contents are based on the applicaton setup, input/output variables, type of process (short or long lived) and a few other factors.  It is not controllable by the developer.
    The web service component in Foundation is for consuming web services as part of a LiveCycle process.  It doesn't control the web service end point.

  • Adobe livecycle server installable link

    Hi,
    Could someone provide me link to download adobe livecycle ES2 version 9.0 for AIX (64 bit).
    We have license and infact my senior has given me adobe lc server installable but for windows (64 bit) but i need it for AIX(64 bit).
    Please help me and provide the link
    Regards
    Sunil Gupta

    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/livecycle/trial.html
    LiveCycle does not have separate 64-bit and 32-bit versions.  However, you need to use the 64-bit version of IBM WebSphere AS which comes with the 64-bit version of IBM's J9 JDK.

I'm posting my findings to help the end user communty and Adobe support staff, so they can better assist users.  I hope the information helps other avoid the problems because this problem took a LONG time to fix with no real insight by vendors.  The solution happened through luck when I upgraded the JDK for better troubleshooting.
    Problem Description:
    Occasionally in a production environment one of my managed WebLogic servers running LC ES Update 1 (8.2.1) would hang.  A restart of the managed server was required each time it was hung. The restart was happening almost daily which isn't acceptable in an enterprise environment.
    Symptoms:
    * I would see stalled methods in my client code waiting for LC ES Update 1 to respond when it hangs. I would notice stuck threads in my client code too.
    * FormsIVS and OutputIVS were deployed to all managed servers as test/verification tools, but the hung WebLogic instance wouldn't show the IVS page.
    * If you visited the WebLogic admin console, then you normally see a RUNNING, OK health state. When the managed WebLogic server hung I would see RUNNING, <blank> status.
    * I couldn't click on the hung managed servers Monitoring tab to see what it stuck on.
    * I couldn't do garbage collections on the hung server using a WLST thread dumps.
    Solution:
    Upgrade from WebLogic 9.2 MP3 default JRockit 27.4 (1.5.0_12) to JRockit 28.0 (1.5.0_24). Here are some high level steps on what I had to do:
    1. Copied the JRockit JDK to the box
    2. Set the JAVA_HOME to the new JRockit JDK location
    3. Updated setDomainEnv.cmd, config.xml, commEnv.cmd to the new JAVA_HOME location
    4. Shut down all servers (admin, node manager, managed servers)
    5. Edit the Server Start classpath that had any reference to the old Java location
    6. Reinstall the Windows services to get them to use the new JDK.
    Environment/Hardware:
    Windows 2003 R2 SP2 (32-bit), Oracle RAC 10.2.0.4
    8 Xeon dual core 2.8 GHz CPU, 16 GB RAM
    Adobe LiveCycle Environment:
    Adobe LiveCycle ES Update 1 (8.2.1) + QF 3.19, QF 3.72, QF 3.76, WebLogic 9.2 MP3 (32-bit), JRockit 27.4 (1.5.0_12) (32-bit)
      * Only had Forms ES, Output ES
    WebLogic 9.2 MP3 Configuration:
    1 admin server, 1 node manager, 4 managed servers on the same physical box in a vertical cluster

  • How to configure Adobe LiveCycle designer on my SAP Server?

    Dear friends.
    I have installed SAP ECC 6.0 and Adobe LiveCycle designer ES 8.2 on my computer.
    Now I want to use Adobe LiveCycle designer in SAP by TCODE:SFP.
    Please tell me how to configure Adobe LiveCycle designer on my SAP Server in details.

    Hi MSReddy,
    You don't need to configure it on SAP server. It should be installed on you desktop only.
    Install ADLC on your desktop and open SFP it should work. If its not showing you the layout it means you are using wrong version of ADLC. Use ADLC downloaded from SAP Service market place only.(service.sap.com), else it will create problems.

  • Is there any Java API to interact/integrate with Adobe LiveCycle Policy Server

    Hi,
    We are already using Adobe LiveCycle Policy server & has manual process in place to send documents to clients.
    Going forward we want to automate this document generation process. We are using Java, JEE in our application.
    We are planning to use below steps to automate this process.
    1) Administrator will create a Template in Adobe Policy Server and will map users intended to receive mails with this template
    2) Our application will interact with Adobe Policy Server and use Template ID to generate PDF document and send mails to client.
    Can anyone please let me know if there is any Java API which can be used to perform the above second step.
    Thanks a lot for your help.
    Best Regards - Roy

    So basically what you have is the very limited edition, doing exactly what you said. For more functionality you should opt for one of the other editions (that for version 7.x)
    Today's version is the newer LC PDF Generator ES. You can look for its specifications at http://www.adobe.com/products/livecycle/pdfgenerator/
