hi,
Please refere SNote 1043676.
Also, need to understand the following,
How to move an entire content repository from one content server to another
Sometimes you may need to move a content repository - but not necessarily all the content repositories from one content server to another. This can be done without much drama. Here is a means that I've used in the past:
Use report RSCMSEX to export the repository from the source content server.
Create a repository of the same name on the target content server.
Use Report RSCMSIM to import the repository into the target content server.
Delete the repository from the source content server (if desired!).
The SAP progrm sapkprotp controls the import and export. The ABAP reports allow you to specify the RFC destinations where sapkrpotp runs.
For lager repositories
The programs  listed above cannot deal with the whole content repository at the same time. For a slower migration, try using the program RSIRPIRL. This approach allows you to do the migation on a live system.
Create the new content repository on your new content server.
Create the new content category.
If using distribution, distribute the new documents to the new category. otherwise change redirected category for DMS_C1_ST
Relocate using the program.

  • How to migrate from SAP content server to OPENTEXT?

We have been using SAP content server as our storage for archived data for years.
Now we plan to start using OPENTEXT to admin our archived data.
How can we use OPENTEXT together with existing SAP content server?
My idea is to treat content server as any other media as as DVD, WORM, etc.
However, I do not see that OPENTEXT can be configured to admin content server .
If so, how to transfer whatever on the content server to IXOS?
    We are at Opentext 9.5.x
    Please share your experience. Thanks!

  • SAPDB Migration for Content server

    Hi Experts
we have a SAP content server 6.3 running on 32 bit windows on SAPDB 7.3 .
We are planning to move this to a Unix box ( AIX or Solaris .. not decided yet). Is there a comprehensive guide available about the procedure we need to follow ?
    1. Do we need to upgrade the source DB before migration ?
    2. As per MaxDB admin guide database copy from IA32 to unix does not work and as per note 962019 we need to use loadercli. Any tips on loadercli use would be welcome
    3. Any relevant information from past experience of similar exercise
    4. Does SAP support this migration if we do not buy the MaxDB migration service from SAP ?

    Hi there,
    > Note"962019" mentions that:
    >
    > "Note that the target system must be installed at least with 7.6.05 build 11. An upgrade to this version does not help. Stop the target system (shutdown) and delete the database instance (drop database). SAPinst provides the option 'uninstall'. Here, you are led through the uninstalling process. The repeat the software installation with 7.6.05 build 11 or higher."
Yep, this is necessary to make the handling of source databases possible, that still have the _UNICODE parameter set to FALSE.
    > I can only find MAXDB 7.6.03 installation CD on SAP SWDC, no 7.6.05 build 11 or higher, can I install 7.6.03 first, then update patch to 7.6.05 or higher?
Actually you don't need the installation CD.
The "patch" package contains everything you need to perform a full installation.
MaxDB patches are not really patches but always full installations.
Therefore you can either use the SDBSETUP or SDBINST tool (make sure to get the path-settings for <indep_data>/<indep_programs>/<dependend_programs> right then!) or you replace the installation package on the 7.6.03 CD you have with the 7.6.05 installation package from the patch download page in the service marketplace [http://service.sap.com/swcenter-3pmain].
Ok, hope that answers your questions.
Make sure to test the procedure before actually trying to perform the migration.
Very often questions and problems come up during the first time the process is done - and if that happens to be your productive migration weekend, well, cross-fingers that you get a MaxDB expert supporter on weekend duty then ...

    Lars

  • HTTP error 500 on Content Server test (RSCMST), after CS migration.

    Hello all,
I have migrated a Content Server 6.30 system from HP-UX and MaxDB 7.3.00.42 to CS 6.40 on Windows and MaxDB 7.7.06.15.  While the migration of the database and the install of the CS 6.40 seems to have completed successfully, I am having trouble connecting to it from the R/3 system.
Following some clean up steps suggested by SAP support, I am able to connect to the CS system using the "serverInfo" query, and I am also able to connect to the existing repository through CSADMIN.  However, when I run the RSCMST tests, they all fail with the error:  HTTP error: 500 (Internal Server Error)  " ;ODBC State 00000; Error Code 0".
Below is a summary of the tests/connections that work and the ones that do not.
URL for serverInfo: http://<hostname>:1090/ContentServer/ContentServer.dll?serverInfo - Returns successfully and displays status of CS.
CSADMIN - All tabs on csadmin display correct information, from the CS and respository.
SE38 - program=RSCMST - All tests return the following error:  HTTP error: 500 (Internal Server Error)  " ;ODBC State 00000; Error Code 0"
I have also confirmed that I am using the most recent ODBC driver on this CS(at the request of SAP support), with the command sdbregview -l.  - Returns the following:  ... ODBC g:/sapdb/programs 7.7.06.15 64 bit valid  ...
If anyone has any suggestions on what else I can check for this error, I would greatly appreciate it.  Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Rusty Robbins

Well, I have good news to report... finally!
The main problem I had with the 500 error was caused by an incorrect version of MaxDB, for CS 6.40 (as SAP support pointed out in the message I had opened with them).  Once I had completed the migration using MaxDB 7.6.06.05, I was able to connect successfully.
When I first performed this migration (with 7.6.06.05), I "thought" I was still getting the same 500 - internal error, but after looking at it closer I realized that the error had changed to say something like "table is set to read-only".  I then realized that I had forgotten to perform a full data backup, following the last import.  Once I completed this backup, I was able to connect to this CS system from R/3, with all of the test programs (RSCMST, etc).
Just to be sure, I performed this migration from scratch again, and was able to repeat the successful migration and tests.  I have now turned it over to the functional teams for testing, and hopefully they will not find any issues.  ;p
Thanks to all that responded and to those that reviewed this post!

    Rusty Robbins

  • Document Migration from CRM to SAP Content Server

We are going live with SAP CRM 7.0 next week. CRM team configured some of applications like ITSM, Change Request Management and Transport Request database also as part of implementation.
We got last minute requirement that CRM team would like to go-live with current configuration with current configuration and eventually they would like to migrate all documents to Content server.
We do not have content server in place yet and planning to implement sometime in Feb.  I am trying to explore ways how we can export existing documents created in CRM and migrate to Content server and link it.
    Any ideas/Suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Miral.

In which repository are the documents currently stored in CRM? Please see if Note 688241 on 'Relocating large SAP Content Server Repositories' could be of any assistance to you.

the private key, where the hash is signed with is stored

  • Migration of SAP DMS documents from RFC Archive to SAP HTTP Content Server

Can anyone verify the correct OSS for the migration of documents from an RFC Archive repository (non SAP) in SAP DMS to a SAP Content Server HTTP Repository. Most of the OSS notes seem to indicate HTTP to HTTP migrations or based storage category migrations.
Which is the most suitable for this?
Edited by: Athol Hill on Oct 30, 2009 2:35 PM

    Dear Athol,
If you want to move the originals from an archive or vault to a Content
Server, please use the DMS_KPRO_CONVERT and DMS_KPRO_CONVERT2 report I
would kindly ask you to see teh documentation on DMS_KPRO_CONVERT report
in transaction SE38, which explains the whole process and gives
    necessary information.
This conversion program offers two possibilites:
    - Complete migration:
The meta data of the document info record and the checked-in original
application files are migrated together. The checked-in original
application files are transported into the storage catgories.
    - Step-by-step migration:
In the first step meta data is migrated. The original application files
remain in the old storage data. The migration of original application

  • Migrate the document from database to Content Server

    Dear All;
There is a ECC6 using for 5 years and I am setting up a External Content Server which link to this ECC6 server, from now on the new incoming documents like scanned document, email etc will save to Content Server.
However, for the past 5 years those old incoming documents that save in the ECC database, how can l migrate it to Content Server?  In the past the document mostly save with GOS (generic object service) option.
    Please advise.
    Thanks

    Hi Jordan,
from DMS point of view I would recommend you to see the reports DMS_KPRO_CONVERT and DMS_KPRO_CONVERT2 which can be used to transfer original files from older storage to KPRO storage logic.
If you want to move the originals from an archive or vault to a Content
Server, please use the DMS_KPRO_CONVERT and DMS_KPRO_CONVERT2 report I

  • Migration of _Communities Section in Content Server

    Hi,
I want to migrate some Content portlets. With the Migration Wizard, I can't choose the section "_Communities" and my sections are in this folder.
Can I migrate the "_Communities Section" ?

The Communities section is only supposed to contain objects used for Branding portlets (a.ka. Community Templating).  While you can't migrate the section in its entirety directly, if you migrate a Branding Portlet (Header, Footer, Content Canvas) the Migration Wizard will automatically migrate the associated Content Server objects (contained in the Communities section) along with it.

    Hi Prem,
Migration from 32-bit to 64-bit should be possible.
You may refer below SAP notes for your reference

  • Content server migration

At the moment in our production system(SAP 6.O) there are two clients:
Client 400 where FI/CO/MM application are running, and client 300 for
    HCM applications.
We would like to have only one client in our production system.
Due to this, we would like to move HCM process and data from cliente
300 to client 400. At the end of migraton Client 300 will be cancelled.
Among others applications, also SAP e-recruiting is running in
client 300. Is it possibile to move E-Recruiting data and attacchments
from one client to another? I'm worried especially about attacchments
stored in content server and Business partner data.
    Thanks a lot!

    Hi,
I have not done a migration yet, but I´m introducing ArchiveLink in a larger scal right now and migration is also a topiv for later tasks. What I have found is OSS note 1043676. Here you can copy docs from one repository to another. Thats how I would try:
    1. Make a new rep poiting at your new CS (e.g. Z2)
    2. Copy all docs from Z1 (your old CS) to Z2 by using OSS note 1043676
    3. Change customizing that all your relations point to the new rep.
Cause I guess the final repository is not transparent to the application therefore a switch to a new rep should be possible.
I did not try this but this may be the way I would suppose to go.
Hope I could help you anyway
P.S.: If you found the right way, please post it
    kind regards Matthew

  • Content server migration - loadercli and I'm running nuts...

We have an (old) content server database of 150 GB on 7.3.0.52 and we're trying to migrate that database to Linux x86_64 bit. I tried the following before:
    - tried to install/run 7.3 on SuSE SLES 11 SP1 - failing (new kernel threading)
    - tried to restore the 7.3 backup on 7.5 - failing (host pagaes too old)
    - tried to use 'loadercli' of 7.5 (Note 962019) - failing (ASCII --> Unicode)
    - now trying to use 7.6.06.20 and stuck
I want to use pipes as transport and use loadercli on the target system (7.6).
I created two files (according to note 962019)
    EXPORT USER
    catalog outstream pipe '/home/sqdcos/trans/COS.CAT'
    data outstream pipe '/home/sqdcos/trans/COS.DATA' PAGES
    package outstream file '/home/sqdcos/trans/COS.export'
    and
    IMPORT USER
    catalog instream pipe '/home/sqdcos/trans/COS.CAT'
    data instream pipe '/home/sqdcos/trans/COS.DATA' PAGES
    package outstream '/home/sqdcos/trans/COS.import'
    The pipes are not existing.
I start the export which seems to work, the COS.CAT pipe is created.
As soon as I start the import, I get the following error message:
    IMPORT USER
    catalog instream pipe '/home/sqdcos/trans/COS.CAT'
    data instream pipe '/home/sqdcos/trans/COS.DATA' PAGES
    package outstream '/home/sqdcos/trans/COS.import'
// M    Execute   PACKAGE  to transform  CATALOG
    // M    Import    PACKAGE x'01000000A296EB4EB45800009B16031EC842BF0100000000'
    // M    Number of TABLES   transformed : 3
// M    Processed command is a PAGES format based copy from database
// with ASCII catalog to database with UNICODE catalog
// M    Execute   PACKAGE  to transform  DATA
// M    Number of TABLES   to transform: 0
// E -25329:    The given data file '/home/sqdcos/trans/COS.DATA' was not
// generated using EXPORT in PAGE Format (missing table description).
plus I get an additional pipe created "COS.DATA0000"
What am I missing here? I'm fiddling with this since hours and I can't figure what I'm doing wrong.
    Markus

what is the source platform (just to be able to test here)?
Source platform is SLES 9 32bit
    Target is SLES 11 SP1 64bit
    > 50% less data volume in the target sounds strange.
    it is, data is missing.
    > What does the loader.log say - source and target - anything suspicious?
    Not really, it looks "good":
    loadercli -d COS -n xx.xx.xx.xx -u SAPR3,SAP -b COS_EXPORT.sql
    Loader protocol: '/home/sqdcos/sdb/connd266/loader/log/loader.log'
    Loader packages: '/home/sqdcos/sdb/connd266/loader/packages'
User SAPR3 connected to database COS schema SAPR3 on 191.1.1.29.
    EXPORT USER
    catalog outstream pipe '/home/sqdcos/trans/COS.CAT'
    data outstream pipe '/home/sqdcos/trans/COS.DATA' RECORDS
    package outstream file '/home/sqdcos/trans/COS.export'
    Successfully executed:
Total number of tables (definition) exported: 3
Total number of tables (data)       exported: 3 (excluded: 0, failed: 0)
    loadercli -d COS -u SAPR3,SAP -b COS_IMPORT.sql
    Loader protocol: '/home/sqdcos/sdb/connd266/loader/log/loader_2011121600202813.log'
    Loader packages: '/home/sqdcos/sdb/connd266/loader/packages'
User SAPR3 connected to database COS schema SAPR3 on local host.
    IMPORT USER
    catalog instream pipe '/home/sqdcos/trans/COS.CAT'
    data instream pipe '/home/sqdcos/trans/COS.DATA' RECORDS
    package outstream '/home/sqdcos/trans/COS.import'
    Successfully executed:
Total number of tables (definition) imported: 3
Total number of tables (data)       imported: 3 (excluded: 0, failed: 0)
Could/should we use a higher version on the target system?

It depends largely on how you have installed Content Server but if you check the [Operating Manual for SAP Content Server|http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/EN/8c/e9ddbb5d9a524bbb7854d31b963248/frameset.htm] -> Special Procedures ...it should give enough info for your requirements.

  • Migrate content from Gateway server 2.0 to NW 7.4

    Hi All,
We have a migration planned with our client. In the current situation, there is a separate Gateway server 2.0 on NW 7.02 system.
On this gateway server custom developments are done. Now we have to move to cloud solutions where the server available will be NW 7.4 which has built in gateway server. The NW 7.4 is on Linux and Sybase where NW 7.02 is on HP-UX and Oracle database. The database restore/ recovery method is not to be used here. Can we migrate contents from NW 7.02 via transport to the new NW 7.4 system?

I don't think you should have any complexities with moving a request to your system in cloud. At least, your GW developments / any developments in ABAP are independent of underlying databases/operating systems and would have no impact if you are transporting them.
But, there might be some challenges if there are some deprecated methods or features which should be looked at on pure Gateway perspective, however, there should be relevant notes to address such incompatibilities.

  • Content Server Migration to Windows 2088 Server

    Hi,
All our systems are on windows 2008 server. Since during time of Implementation CS was not supported on Wind 2K8 we had to install it on a separate hardware (Win 2K3). Now that it is supported we need to migrate our server from this separate hardware to our SolMan server.
I need some advice on how too go ahead with this activity.
I believe below are the steps.
    1. Upgrade MaxDB in our current CS from Version 7.6.03.10 to 7.6.5.12 or above as per SAP Note 1399009.
    2. Install SAP CS on the SolMan Sever.
    3. Do a Homogenous System Copy - restore of Backup of source MaxDB. Note 962019 & 129352
    4. Copy the ContentServer.INI file and the security directory to the
new server. As this is not backed up in the DB Backup.
Is this Process correct? Is there any guides for this. Please help.
