Migrate Nokia Suite between windows accounts

I have recently changed my home pc so that each user has their own account, I now want to move my Nokia Suite settings to my personal windows account rather than the shared windows account.
My issue is that I have a lot of photographs stored on my N8, these have already been uploaded to windows (shared account) - but if I connect the N8 while logged in with my new windows account Nokia Suite tries to upload all the photos again, this would turn into a massive problem for me to sort out manually.
What can I do to migrate my Nokia Suite data from one account to another - I see there are hidden "Nokia" and "Nokia Account" folders in AppData/Local... would it be sufficient to copy these or is there other stuff that I would be missing?

Hi dylanf,
You can see the help of Nokia Suite "Moving the contents of Nokia Suite to a new computer", the same applies to creating a new account or profile on your same computer.
If you had your Photos and Videos from your phone stored on your shared account on PC in the standard Windows Pictures and Videos folders. You just need to copy them those to your new account's Pictures and Videos. This way you will not need to copy those photos again from your phone to your new account.
I copied here the instructions from the Nokia Suite help. Nokia Suite -> Help -> Moving the contents of Nokia Suite to a new computer.
When you are switching to a new computer, it's easy to move your contacts, messages, media files, calendar information, bookmarks, and web feeds from Nokia Suite on your old computer to Nokia Suite on the new computer. All your files stay safe and you can continue using Nokia Suite just like before. See below for detailed instructions on how to move different content types to your new computer.
Music, photos, and videos
The music, photos, and videos you see in Nokia Suite are stored on your computer just like any files and you can move them to the new computer with the help of Windows Explorer and an external hard drive, such as a USB memory stick. In the options of Nokia Suite, check if the program saves your media files to the standard Windows folders for music, photos, and videos (such as Music, Pictures, and Videos on Windows Vista and Windows 7 or My Music, My Pictures, and My Videos on Windows XP), or if you have chosen to save them in some other folders. To check your options, open the Tools menu, click Options, and then go to the Music and Gallery tabs.
Note that if you have created music playlists or photo albums in Nokia Suite on your old computer, you need to create them again when you start using Nokia Suite on your new computer.

  • Nokia Suite filling WIndows 7 user profile

I am limited by my institute in the size of my Win 7 roaming user profile. Nokia Suite has created two directories
    ./Appdata/Roaming/Nokia
    and
    ./Appdata/Roaming/Nokia Suite
    the directory
    C:\Users\nmak1\AppData\Roaming\Nokia\IntelliSync\352429051011000\Configuration
    is particularly big.
any way to have Nokia Suite store these files to another location?
    matt

I think this location can not be changed, nokia suite uses it as an image of your mobile. And  '352429051011000' this is your mobile IMEI no.
You may delete that folder named "352429051011000" and reconnect your phone , suite will make this directory again with new database.
But do not delete the folder permanently first time, if anything goes wrong u can restore the folder again.

  • Nokia Suite has stopped working

Above is the now dreaded message I constantly receive everytime I try to sync my Calendars and Tasks between my Windows 7 based laptop and Nokia C7 mobile phone. This started around the time that I updated to the latest version of Nokia suite 3.5.34. This is one of the most important aspects of my syncs. I uses this for work and I've spent the last few days desperately trying to find a solution.
    What I've done so far:
Started with trying to repair Nokia Suite through Windows 7 uninstall programme (did this several times throughout process)
Also tried to repair sync through Nokia suite (also several times)
I then deleted Nokia Suite (using Windows 7 uninstall programme along with Device drivers etc)
    Then re-installed Nokia Suite
plugged in C7 and re-installed Device drivers etc.
Deleted all Calendar events on my Nokia C7
Re-installed Nokia C7 software through Nokia Suite (after saving everything important)
Deleted Nokia Suite again and installed Beta version
Deleted Beta version and all files under /Appdata/Nokia etc
Installed fresh version of Nokia Suite 3.5.34 from Nokia website
    Installed c7 device drivers
    Sync.....
message still there... Nokia Suite has stopped working, Windows is checking for a solution to the problem. The final messages reads something like 'A problem caused Nokia Suite to stop working....'
    WHAT PROBLEM!!!???
I've spent too many hours trying to sort out this.
I've sent several logged reports directly to Nokia through the Nokia Suite system.
If anyone has some ideas on what might be the solution to this frustration I would be very grateful.
Oh... and another thing. I've also deleted and re-installed several calendar events that I'd recently entered into my Outlook calendar, just in case there was something going on there.
Not to mention the numerous times I've used the Windows troubleshooter to try to figure this things out.
Sigh... I'm not daft, but this is ridiculously complicated for something that is meant to make life simple.
    Many thanks in advance.

  • Nokia Suite no longer recognises N9 after upgradin...

I have been regularly using Nokia Suite 3.2 with my N9, and so I recently upgraded to Nokia Suite 3.5. After some initial problems getting ownership of the Nokia file in the ProgramData folder, the install worked however now when I connect using 'Sync and Connect', Nokia Suite doesn't recognise my N9 - I can hear the sound notification of the phone connecting with the computer, followed almost immediately by the same sound notification of the phone disconnecting from the PC.
I'm running Windows Vista 32bit and having used system restore to roll back the install to version 3.2, I now cannot connect my N9 via Nokia Suite 3.2 either.
I've tried different cables to no avail. I do not have Bluetooth on my PC to try. I now cannot connect my N9 and my PC.
    How do I fix this?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I seem to have had some success. After getting over the usual language and accent barriers with Nokia Customer Care, and after convincing them that Nokia Suite 3.5 was actually compatible with the N9, they suggested I repair both the Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver and also the PC Connectivity Solution file.
After doing this, Nokia Suite 3.5 still wasn't  recognising my N9. Re-installing Nokia Suite wasn't an option as it would mean deleting all the info stored in it (texts, contacts, etc), some of which are not stored in duplicate on the phone.
I decided instead to try repairing Nokia Suite via Windows, and to my thanks, this seems to have worked. At present all is well and Nokia Suite is now talking and recognising my N9 as it did in v3.2.
What is probably the most puzzling thing to come out of this is that in searching the web for a fix, it became very clear that Nokia have a lot of issues across the board in getting their phones to connect and talk to their UI's on computers.
The fact that they have maybe three to four separate UI's (PC Suite, Nokia Link, Nokia Suite, Ovi Suite) which only seem to be suitable for certain phones is archaic in my opinion. Surely it's time for Nokia to pool their resources and R and D into one UI that is functional across the board and across their phone range?
I think that would make the user experience a more friendly and enjoyable one.

    Hi laksi,
Nokia Suite was developed before Windows 8.1 and is also not tested with third-party firewall and antivirus software like the Privatefirewall 7.0 and Avast Internet Security 2015 used on your PC.
It may be required to install Nokia Suite in Windows 7 compatibility mode, and you may need to manually adjust the settings of both the firewall and the antivirus software to make it work, or even find other 'security software' that will allow the Nokia Suite to do what it needs to do. This is so far just guesswork - please read on.
The link to Apple from Abi99 is a hint to 'ask better questions', nothing personal, and not specific to Apple products.

Alerts and notifications from the Windows logfiles regarding Nokia Suite, the firewall and Avast is required to troubleshoot this properly. Or we can do it by trial and error, by uninstalling the firewall and antivirus and see how it will go?

  • Nokia Beta Suite for Windows

I was very excited when I saw this was available as the MS supplied Outlook Connector does not do a complete job of syncing contacts.
    http://betalabs.nokia.com/trials/nokia-suite-beta
I've tried via Bluetooth, and via multiple USB ports using my Nokia USB cable, and can't get the Suite to recognize my Lumia 710.  I've seen multiple reports of similar situations, I'm wondering if anyone has actually been able to get this to work?

Now that the new Lumias have arrived, could Nokia confirm the following:
    1. It is not possible to sync contacts and calendar between MS Outlook and a Lumia 820 or 920 directly via Nokia Suite and USB cable.
    2. Nokia suite can be used to copy contacts and calendar from older Nokia phones to a Lumia 820 or 920, but only by using Skydrive.  And when using this method, not all contact fields will be copied, e.g. contact notes and repeating calendar items will not be copied, and the contacts interface in Windows Live is infuriating.
    3. The ease and accuracy of synchronisation of contacts using the "Outlook Connector" add-on is even worse.
    4. It seems the mysterious "Windows Companion" or "Windows Phone" app, which supposedly allows direct local synchronisation of MS Outlook contact and calendar entries between a PC and a Lumia phone via USB cable, is only compatible with PC's running the Windows 8 OS.  Anyone running earlier versions of Windows on their PC's will have to upgrade.
    5. It seems impossible to obtain specifications as to precisely what the "Windows Companion" or "Windows Phone" app will do and how it will do it.
It is quite incredible that Nokia has allowed the above issues to remain unresolved since the release of the first Lumia phones, especially given the demise of its Symbian OS, which allowed effortless and ACCURATE local synchronisation between phone and MS Outlook via Nokia Suite.  Given the amount of forum posts relating to these issues, one has to assume that MS is deliberately using them to force consumers to use its unsatisfactory cloud services and upgrade their PC OS to Windows 8 - all to achieve very poorly a synchronisation function that Nokia had provided perfectly well for years.

  • Can't sign in to Nokia account via Nokia Suite

    I am in Finland.
I can connect to my account from the phone (nokia 701Belle + updates) and I can also reach my account on internet, but it is not possible to have a connection through my Nokia Suite. Have tried it on my win8, win7 and vista, same result/problem.
It is not possible to make a new account in Nokia Suite.
Some weeks ago I have updated my f-secure on all maschines.
Moderator's Note: The title is edited as a new topic is created.

Nokia Suite connects to the server account.nokia.com and auth.gfx.ms. For these servers, SSL 3 was disabled on October 15th 2014. As of today, these servers require TLS 1.0. Nokia Suite does not use TLS 1.0 but only SSL 3, because Nokia Suite uses the QT framework 4.7.4. Up to that version, the QtNetwork class QSslSocket used SSL 3 and not TLS 1.0 as default protocol. You can test yourself via a terminal command and OpenSSL:
    openssl s_client -connect account.nokia.com:443 -ssl3
which simulates the behaviour of the Nokia Suite. Therefore, the initial request of the Nokia Suite is rejected with a SSL/TLS handshake-failure. Because of that, Nokia Suite gives this wrong error message. Hopefully, Nokia enables SSL 3 again. Edit: added workarounds
1st Workaround – use another tool
If you skip the creation of an account and ignore that wrong error message, you are still able to use the Nokia Suite. Only these features need an account:
    Software Update:
    A) Software Recovery Tool (requires Windows 7 or newer; does full reset)
    B) Nokia Software Updater (updates; does not work for devices since 2011)
    Nokia Music: MixRadio » Settings » Purchase-History …
Nokia Store: download from its webpage …
Purchase History: view on its webpage …
    Upload to SkyDrive/OneDrive:
    A) Transfer my Data (for contacts),
    B) Microsoft Outlook 2013 (for contacts and calendar), and/or
    C) Micro-USB cable (for photos)
2nd Workaround – replace a DLL file (3rd Edit: added exit step, reduced to just one DLL)
exit the Nokia Suite via right-click in (bottom, left) Windows Notification Area (system tray)
download this modified version of ssleay32.dll …
replace this file at C:\Program Files (x86)\Nokia\Nokia Suite\
A previous version of this workaround forgot the step of installing the ‘Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013’. Later, this step was added. As of today, this installation step is not required anymore because the DLL was updated and does not need that package anymore. If you still face an issue, report here in this thread! If everything works, please, just give kudos by clicking at that star on the right.

I tried to configure 2 windows users accounts using a single library per the instructions in HT1203.  My iTunes library is on an external drive.  I cannot get this to work.  Any suggestions?

To give other users read-only access to your iTunes library, use the Sharing features of iTunes. Sharing works over the local network as well as on the same computer. See the built-in help for details.
If you want to give full read/write access to more than one user, see the support article linked below.
iTunes: How to share music between different accounts on a single computer
There is a way to share the library without moving it to a secondary volume. If you really need to do that, ask for instructions.

  • Nokia suite 3.8.48 and Windows (8) Contacts

Nokia Suite syncs 3710 fold and suite, but not Windows contacts.
    How to do?
Previously I used Windows XP and Outlook without any problems.
Would be great with some help.

    Hi goranlof,
    Welcome to the forum!
Nokia Suite can copy and sync contacts and calendar files from the following programs:
    Microsoft Windows 7 Contacts
    Microsoft Windows Vista Contacts
    Microsoft Windows Vista Calendar
    Microsoft Outlook 2002, 2003, 2007, 2010
    Microsoft Outlook Express
    Mozilla Thunderbird
Windows 8 Contacts is currently not included in the list. However, you can copy your numbers from Windows 8 Contacts to any of the supported programs, you'll be able to sync the data to your Nokia 3710 fold. You can contact the Windows support team for assistance with this process: windows.microsoft.com/contact-support.

  • Nokia Suite install constantly failing (Windows XP...

I have spent over 12 hours today trying to get Nokia Suite to work on my Windows XP. (All updates for XP installed). I have downloaded, "installed", "repaired", de-installed, and re-started my PC nearly a dozen times. - I have already followed the instructions in a thread from February, which involved copying, pasting, saving and installing two CA certificated from http://www.verisign.com/. - I have already followed the instructions in that same thread about uninstalling Nokia Suite, Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver and PC connectivity Solution then restarting the PC and downloading Nokia Suite 3.3.86 (again and again and again...) Every time I go through this tedious and frustrating routine, double-click the .exe file (again), it appears to install correctly. But 15 seconds after the start screen (the big blue blob which turns into a "C") appears, the same ominous message pops up - Nokia Suite needs to be repaired. OK, so repair it ! The repair completes and - 15 seconds after it restarts itself - I get the "needs to be repaired" message again. So off we go again. This is extremely frustrating and time consuming. The download (nearly 90 Mb) takes 20 minutes or more (depending on whether my husband is also online on his laptop), the installation takes another 10 minutes or so, restarting my PC another 10 minutes or so, the repair another 10 minutes - and all that 17 times. I am going to try a slightly earlier version which I just downloaded from oldapps.com (god bless 'em) and see whether that will work. But if anyone has any more ideas how to get the damn thing working I would be extremely grateful.

You may try the latest Beta version from here ... Need to log-in using the SAME credentials that you use on this Forum; to download the Installer ...
