Migrate phones from cucm 7.13 to 10.0

We just migrated from cucm 7.13 to 10.0, the cucm 7.13 was in mixed mode security.  Most phone migrated after we deleted the ctl file but the 7925 and the 7960 refuse to register to the new version.  Any ideas why?

Yes I tried factory resetting both the 7925 and 7960 and it didn't work. Both keep giving me a tftp server unauthorized error.  Even though the new cluster is set to non secure mode.

  • How to move phones from one CUCM server to another?

How easy is it to migrate IP phones from one CUCM server to another?
    The situation is this:
A vessel currently sitting in dry dock has 14 IP phones onboard which currently register with a CUCM server half way round the world (literally). As you can imagine there is quite a fair amount of delay for the signal processing, not to mention the connectivity being over a VSAT link. This being a temporary solution.
A CUCM server has been configured and installed on the vessel with all the relevant partitions, route patterns, trunks etc. The phones have also been added to the new server ready for migration. The only real thing that will be different when the phones are migrated is the Directory Number on each phone. Both CUCM servers are running software version 7.1.3
The phones currently pick up their local IP addresses via a local DHCP server which assigns 150 TFTP Server IP Address for the remote CUCM server. Is changing the the TFTP Server IP address to the local CUCM server enough to have the phones register with the local server.
This is not something I've tried before so would appreciate feedback or any comments that may indicate anything I missed along the way.
    Thanks,
    Ric

    Hi Ricardo,
On the DHCP scope created for the voice vlan change the Option 150(TFTP Server IP address) to the new CUCM and remove/delete the remote CUCM IP address just to ensure that phones once after registering to the new CUCM will not fetch any config from the remote CUCM as the DN's of the phones are changed on the new CUCM please ensure this.
Apart from this i dont see any challenges as the firmware of the IP Phones will also remain same as CUCM version is same.
    Hope that helps.

  • Migrating phone line and broadband from BE to BT i...

Hi everyone, i ordered BT infinity 2 online on Friday , order went through with out any issues got the date for engineer visit on 14th of JUNE but since that my order is pending and i don't know the reason why and my account hasn't been created as well.
My phone line and broadband currently both with BE unlimited and somebody from BT told me that if i am migrating phone line from another provider then i can't order BT infinity 2 straight away, first i have to transfer my phone line over to BT and then i can order BT infinity 2. Can any body tell me if this is true.
I had excellent experience with BE unlimited for last 5 years and hoping that it carries on with BT as well but things so far not looking promising because i can't get straight answer from BT reps.
Any help in this matter will be much appreciated in advance.

OK i have update regarding my order, i spoke to BT rep today and she told me the reason my order is till pending because  first i have to transfer my  phone line over to BT then i can order BT infinity 2. The date they give me for my phone line to switch over to BT is 15th of June and once that completed then some one from BT infinity 2 Team will contact me and arrange a date for BT engineer.
So any one thinking about moving to BT infinity 2 in near future and currently they have their phone line and broadband both with different company then they should move their phone line to BT straight away and once phone line is moved over to BT then they can order BT infinity 2 with out any problems.
I hope this will help lot of other people who are in similar situation.

  • Migrating from CUCM 8.6 to CUCM 10.0 - Do I have to upgrade presence as well?

    Hello Raees,
I've got a question regarding the Migration from CUCM 8.6 to 1.0, I went through the below "Ask the Expert" article.
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/12103966/ask-expert-cisco-unified-communications-manager-cucm-version-100
My question is, the CUCM 10.0 upgrade mentions the following on page 22
"Refresh upgrade of Unified Communications Manager nodes only
Complete the high-level tasks listed in this section when you want to perform a refresh upgrade of only the
Unified Communications Manager nodes in your network. When you upgrade Unified Communications
Manager nodes without upgrading IM and Presence nodes, ensure that the installed version of the IM and
Presence Service is compatible with the new version of the Unified Communications Manager software."
I would only like to Upgrade the CUCM nodes but the client is using Presence 8.6 as well, would I have to upgrade Presence 8.6 to something else as well or can I just upgrade to CUCM 10.0 and the presence 8.6 would work with it, if I have to upgrade Presence as well then what version of Presence would I have to upgrade to and for the "Refresh Upgrade for Presence" can you mention the SKU that I got to get off the Product Upgrade Tool.
Since it's going to be a Refresh Upgrade for CUCM from 8.6 to 10.0 can you as well provide me with the SKU for the upgrade that I got to purchase, I can see two of them as follows:
    UCM-10.X-SW-K9-XU=
CUCM Software Version 10.X for PUT Only, Export Unrestricted
    UCM-10.X-SW-K9=
CUCM Software Version 10.X for PUT Only
    Thanks

Thank you for the reply Chris,
I have a few more questions with regards to what you mentioned in your reply, I'd be glad if you could clarify:
I have not dealt with IMP before...
    1) is it like a plugin that runs on CUCM instead of a full fledged server or is it a stand alone server like CUPS (just renamed/rebranded).... I have till date been dealing with CUPS as a stand alone server that integrates with CUCM via the CUCM -> System-> Application Server Option.
    2) If it's a plug-in then how would the upgrade be done from the CUPS Stand Alone to this IMP that runs within the CUCM Server or would it be a fresh installation or some activation of services within CUCM... and if it's a stand alone server then what Upgrade Image do I need to upgrade CUPS 8.6.4 to IMP 10.0 or 10.5.
I'm sorry but the upgrade path for CUPS 8.6.4 to IMP 10.0/10.5 is not clear for me, could you help me understand the migration for CUPS 8.6.4 to IMP 10.0/10.5..... could you as well advise any documentation that shows detailed steps for the upgrade from CUPS 8.6.4 to IMP 10.0/10.5... the CUCM upgrade is clear to me from the Upgrade Guide.
    Thank you
    Aamer

  • Speed dial migration of each phone from cisco callmanager 4.1 to cisco callmanager 7.1

Can anyone enlighten me how to backup all the speed dial list of each phone from 4.1 callmanager to 7.1 callmanager ?

    Hi Alan,
The only other way that I can think of would be to use a BAT Export from 4.x
and then BAT Import into 7.x. The header fields won't match exactly between
the old/new versions of BAT, so some re-jigging will be required

  • Cisco Unity Connection 8.6 not getting CLID information from CUCM 8.6

    Hello,
    Currently Running:
    Cisco Unified Communications Manager 8.6.2
    Cisco Unity Connection 8.6.2
    Problem:
when any outside caller leaves a voicemail, the caller number information is not being sent to unity.
example, I call with my cell phone, 817.555.1234 to my Cisco 7940 phone and it shows the CLID information that i am calling with. iDivert to voice mail, Leave a message. Playback message and just the default message information from Cisco Unity.
we currently upgraded from CUCM 6.1.3 and Unity 5. before i could press 9 and get the caller information.
I have viewed the "Playback Message Settings" and selected "After Playing Each Message, Play" and selected Sender's Information. and also selected "Include Extension and Sender's ANI"
upon playing the VoiceMail after the message i get the default message "From Cisco Unity Connection Messaging System"
I also have the message relaying to my E-mail and I get the same in the subject line.
"Message from Cisco Unity Connection Messaging System (Unknown extension)"
This tends to be a big deal with the Sales team as customers will call and say "Call me back"
But any Internal Calls show the correct information, proper greeting, extension information even on the relay to e-mail.
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Tim

Found another post that referenced Cisco Bug ID CSCti37610.
CUC plays message is from Unity Connection Messaging system
Symptom:Before message playback, Unity Connection plays the message is from Unity Connection Messaging System instead sender's ANI
Conditions:Problem was observed on Unity Connection cluster and appropriate services are not rebooted after changing the SMTP domain name
    Workaround:
    Restart the Unity Connection servers
It should have been fixed in 8.5 but we did change the SMTP domain name on 8.6 and now see the problem. Will schedule a reboot and see if the issue goes away.

  • How to get the list of registered phones from RTMT

I need to get the list of the registered phones from RTMT in excel sheet or text file how i can do this ?????

The approach you need to take depends on your CM/CUCM version.  In Windows based systems (3.3.3 to 4.2.3 at least, not sure about 4.3 actually) you can get data using devicelistx.asp.  This is discussed in the thread that James provided (+5 James).
If you are dealing 5.x or later then you need to look at using RISport.  It is a little more involved but more powerful than devicelistx.asp.  Actually, I think RISport and the associated API was available in later 4x releases but was "hidden").
I have a brief intro here:
    http://www.netcraftsmen.net/component/content/article/70-unified-communications/452-good-bye-devicelistxasp-hello-risport.html
I probably need to get some of my notes together and put some examples on my blog now that I think about it.  Anyway, the above link is a quick intro with links to devicelistx.asp info and RISport API info.
    HTH.

    Bill

  • Migrating data from Lose It, iPhone 3G to 3GS

Has anyone been successful in migrating their "Lost It" data from the iPhone 3G to the new 3GS? Can you see the data on your PC to make sure it was backed up sucessfully? I cannot see it in iTunes and it has not transferred over.

Yes I did this for my wife from the 2G to 3G with no problems at all...Just make sure you sync the phone prior to the upgrade and then restore the new phone from the backup that was saved before you swapped phones..she lost no data...

  • Migrate wiki from MLS to MAVS

    Dear Folks,
I want to provide a solution on how to migrate the Wiki from a Mountain Lion Server to a Mavericks Server. Both Servers are running but in different locations and they can't communicate directly with each other. Upgrading the MLS was no option - after what I had read in hundreds of threads. The MLS is a 10.8.5 (with the latest version of server.app up until the 15th of October 2013) and Mavericks a 10.9.1 (with the latest version of server.app up until New Years Eve).
I hadn't done it without the help of Andreas from Metalab in Vienna (lovely Hackspace) - so the grace goes to him!!
First things first - he isolated 2 issues on MLS - revolving postgresql Version AND Socket! Thank you Apple-developers you did a great job here - since this product is called „The Server for everyone“ I believe either the title is incorrect or some guys haven’t understood what the a server for everyone implies - since everyone isn’t a geek, nerd, developer etc. - think about it!
Trying to connect to psql on MLS:
    bash-3.2# psql
psql: could not connect to server: No such file or directory
Is the server running locally and accepting
connections on Unix domain socket "/var/pgsql_socket/.s.PGSQL.5432"?
    What?!
    bash-3.2# serveradmin status postgres
    postgres:state = "RUNNING"
    What?!
So he started digging on MLS:
    bash-3.2# netstat -na|grep LISTEN
nothing tangible here - nothing ist listening to 5432
    Dig deeper on MLS:
    bash-3.2# lsof | grep postgre
              #output omitted for clarity
    postgres_ 2546      _postgres   10u     unix 0xa319efaa0af41357       0t0         /Library/Server/PostgreSQL For Server Services/Socket/.s.PGSQL.5432
    postgres_ 2547      _postgres   10u     unix 0xa319efaa0af3fbe7       0t0         /Library/Server/PostgreSQL For Server Services/Socket/.s.PGSQL.5432
              #output omitted for clarity
    postgres_ 2548      _postgres   10u     unix 0xa319efaa0af3fa57       0t0         /Library/Server/PostgreSQL For Server Services/Socket/.s.PGSQL.5432
              #output omitted for clarity
    postgres_ 2549      _postgres   10u     unix 0xa319efaa0af3f8c7       0t0         /Library/Server/PostgreSQL For Server Services/Socket/.s.PGSQL.5432
              #output omitted for clarity
    postgres_ 3102      _postgres   10u     unix 0xa319efaa0b220357       0t0         /Library/Server/PostgreSQL For Server Services/Socket/.s.PGSQL.5432
              #output omitted for clarity
Hold the horses still - that got him thinking! How does that fit to the output of the psql-command just seconds earlier (and I literally mean seconds!) Can you see it?
The truth is, the Socket is at:
    /Library/Server/PostgreSQL For Server Services/Socket/.s.PGSQL.5432
but is expected by psql to be in /var/psql_socket/.s.PGSQL.5432!
    Expected What?!
    Verified it again on MLS:
    bash-3.2# psql
psql: could not connect to server: No such file or directory
Is the server running locally and accepting
connections on Unix domain socket "/var/pgsql_socket/.s.PGSQL.5432"?
    bash-3.2# psql --help
Yep - when postgresql was compiled obviously somebody was sitting on his fingers - during implementation nobody had told psql the path for the socket at the "new" location?! Ergo - psql is looking for the socket in the default location - where it is not.
Then, with the help, he managed it to get in.
Trying to get in on MLS:
    bash-3.2# psql -p "/Library/Server/PostgreSQL For Server Services/Socket/.s.PGSQL.5432"
psql: invalid port number: "/Library/Server/PostgreSQL For Server Services/Socket/.s.PGSQL.5432"
    Trying again on MLS:
    bash-3.2# psql -h "/Library/Server/PostgreSQL For Server Services/Socket/.s.PGSQL.5432"
psql: could not connect to server: Not a directory
Is the server running locally and accepting
connections on Unix domain socket "/Library/Server/PostgreSQL For Server Services/Socket/.s.PGSQL.5432/.s.PGSQL.5432"?
And again - almost there on MLS:
    bash-3.2# psql -h "/Library/Server/PostgreSQL For Server Services/Socket/" -p 5432
psql: FATAL:  role "root" does not exist
    Typo:
    bash-3.2# psql -h "/Library/Server/PostgreSQL For Server Services/Socket/" -p 5432 -u colab
    psql: invalid option -- u
Try "psql --help" for more information.
And - tata - he was in on MLS:
    bash-3.2# psql -h "/Library/Server/PostgreSQL For Server Services/Socket/" -p 5432 template1 collab
    psql (9.1.9, server 9.2.4)
WARNING: psql version 9.1, server version 9.2.

That looks fantastic! Lets start dumping with some help through pg_dump --help and then issuing the following on MLS:
    bash-3.2# pg_dump -h "/Library/Server/PostgreSQL For Server Services/Socket/" -p 5432 -f /Volumes/USBSTICK/wikidatabase -U collab collab
    pg_dump: server version: 9.2.4; pg_dump version: 9.1.9

What?! How could that be?! The commands refer to an older version?!
    Start digging again on MLS!
    bash-3.2# which psql
    /usr/bin/psql
    bash-3.2# which pg_dump
    /usr/bin/pg_dump
That's where I stepped in and told Andreas "Hey - ahm - I know of a path completely different…. /Applications/Server.app/.….". Thanks mate!
    Dig again on MLS!
    bash-3.2# /Applications/Server.app/Contents/ServerRoot/usr/bin/pg_dump --version
    pg_dump (PostgreSQL) 9.2.4
Lovely - that one looks good - lets use it. All of that got us finally to the right command on MLS.
    bash-3.2# /Applications/Server.app/Contents/ServerRoot/usr/bin/pg_dump -h "/Library/Server/PostgreSQL For Server Services/Socket/" -p 5432 -f /Volumes/USBSTICK/wikidatabase -U collab collab
There it is - the whole Database on the stick - finally - it took Andreas only 5 Minutes - approximately? I am just baffled.
Then I copied the Folders from the /Library/Server/Wiki/FileData of the MLS to the exact same location on the MAVS and sat permission - navigating to /Library/Server/Wiki first:
    bash-3.2# chown -R _teamsserver:_teamsserver FileData/
    bash-3.2# chmod -R +a "_www allow read" FileData/
I compared the the collab DB on the MLS with the MAVS collab DB to see the differences - BTW - the Socket has moved again on the MLS! Move up in this documentary and you’ll see on how to find it on MAVS.

Hmmm - 41 tables in the old, and 58 in the new. What am I going to do? To be able to roll back I dumped the MAVS DB before I would do anything else.
I had to decide between trying to take the old MLS DB and just pg_restore it into the MAVS DB, or - trying to upgrade the MLS instance to MAVS. I was afraid doing the upgrade since the MLS was a mess. At the end I would decide to go for the latter - since I had dumps. It took a while but - hey - it worked. Everything in place! Wiki running - everything else, too! The database has now 58 tables - ok - lets dump it. Notice again - no need to specify the proper version of pg_dump, but the Socket has changed from MLS to MAVS - again - you could see this when I connected with psql as well!
Please use (-F c) compression when dumping - otherwise you’ll receive a nasty error when importing it at the MAVS.
    bash-3.2# pg_dump -h "/Library/Server/Wiki/PostgresSocket/" -p 5432 -F c -f /Volumes/USBSTICK/MLSafterupgrade2MAVS_collab_db_compressed.pgdump -U collab collab
I then copied the dump to the server - the Desktop of the administrativ account - I did it through screensharing which is accessible after establishing a VPN to the location the server resides in.
Unfortunately the command for pg_restore has a different syntax then the pg_dump. Use pg_dump --help to see the details. I’ll explain it quickly:
-c is to clean entries in the target tables (you must not use capital c)
-d specifies the database into which you would like to restore
-h specifies (again) where the DB is - the socket
    -p the port to use
-U is the role that likes to work on the DB
you must not use -f since it’s not needed
    bash-3.2# pg_restore -c -d collab -h "/Library/Server/Wiki/PostgresSocket/" -p 5432 /Volumes/OSXDATA/Users/macminiadmin/Desktop/MLScollabdb_compressed.pgdump -U collab

I saw quite a lot errors (some revolving functions etc.) - however, it worked. Wikis are present again on the MAVS. Not without the initial help of Andreas - thank you once again!
I would like to recommend to everyone joining hackerspaces in their location. I do not know them in other areas - I can only speak for the metalab in Vienna. Fantastic place with fantastic, very knowledgable people. I would also recommend reading a book like PostgreSQL 9 Admin Cookbook - this helped me quit a lot as well. It’s available through various stores - virtual or real - choose what you prefer.

    Frustrated, not angry...
Well folks. I think this is goodbye to OS X Server - the server that I thought was much easier to use.  I've followed instructions on this forum and several others over the past 7 months.  It's cost me so much time and headache.
Migrating wikis from Mountain Lion Server to Mavericks server has yet to work
Upgrading our Mountain Lion Server to Mavericks leaves us without wiki, calendar, and other services
Apple support docs don't do the trick
Phone calls with Apple support techs haven't provided any solutions.
Our current Mountain Lion Server suddenly lost all filesharing authentication capability and Apple enterprise solutions haven't been able to figure this one out.
I'm stuck with a server with broken mountain lion server I have never been able to upgrade and/or migrate and ultimately would be left to copy/paste wikis to a fresh Mavericks server, export/import calendars from each client station, and contacts - I don't even know how that's going to work.
I believe in keeping IT folks employed, but...
The support from Apple seems so marginal (just for the server) and the plethora of problems with upgrading to Mavericks server and/or the manual fight to only potentially get it done seems very un-Apple like and just downright counter to what Apple represents.
    So I'll think different...
Our server will be relegated to a client machine with simple file sharing.  Perhaps We'll buy Daylite to assume some of the responsibilites.  Truth is, even when things were working, it was always flaky in some way.
I really wanted to employ OS X Server in an efficient way, but it's been more trouble than I can accomodate.
Fortunately I am not an average client user nor a novice, so working in terminal is comfortable.
Perhaps in a few years or so, I'll reconsider, but my experience with OS X server on Mountain Lion and Mavericks has affected my trust.
Thanks for all of the help to those who provided instructions, workarounds, directions toward solutions, etc.
For those of you who had a successful migration - consider yourself lucky.
...by the way...after finishing the incredible instructions on this page (and i sincerely mean that despite them not working for me) the result was a wiki page that looked like this

  • Parse and extract a Canadian Address and Phone# from a Text Varchar2 field

    Happy Remembrance/Veterans Day everyone.
I have a "data migration" issue in my hand and there is a Text field that now needs to be organized nicely into proper address fields.
So far, I have been able to parse the Postal Code correctly from the text field which is storing the address.
    SELECT code, address, regexp_substr(address,'[A-Z]\d[A-Z] *\d[A-Z]\d') postal_code
    FROM student_tb
    WHERE REGEXP_LIKE(address,'[V]\d[A-Z] *\d[A-Z]\d');
I still have to extract the Address and sometimes a Phone number which is all stored in one field. Here are 4 examples and acceptable formats:
    #2115-101 Adelaide Street East Toronto ON M5A 1N1 (416) 767-0912
Testing ABC #2101-212 King Street West, Toronto, ON, M5A 4T1
    #3114-212 Bloor Street E      Toronto    ON   M3C1S1  651-1213
HOTEL PANAORAMA      Waterloo    ON   M1A 2A1
    Script for table creations:
    create table student_tb
        code     varchar2(4),
        address varchar2(500)
    create table student_address_tb
      code           varchar2(4),
      address_type   varchar2(1),
      hotel_name     varchar2(50),
      street         varchar2(50),
      city           varchar2(50),
      province       varchar2(2),
      postal_code    varchar2(10),
      phone          varchar2(10)
    Inserting records into table student_tb:
    insert into student_tb values('1001','#2115-101 Adelaide Street East Toronto ON M5A 1N1 (416) 767-0912');
    insert into student_tb values('1002','Testing ABC #2101-212 King Street West, Toronto, ON, M5A 4T1');
    insert into student_tb values('1003','#3114-212 Bloor Street E      Toronto    ON   M3C1S1  651-1213');
    insert into student_tb values('1004','#HOTEL PANAORAMA
    Toronto
    ON   M1A 2A1');
    create table city_gis(city_name varchar2(50));
    insert into city_gis values('Toronto');
    insert into city_gis values('Waterloo');
    insert into city_gis values('Barrie');
The above 4 records from student_tb need to be transferred over to the student_address_tb.
    Assumptions:
    1. Address can be detected when it starts with a # sign.
    2. City will be picked up based on the table city_gis. So, the street will not contain the City.
    3. Province will be detected as 'ON'
    4. Phone numbers will be starting with numbers or a bracket followed by number and should not contain any letters.
For phone numbers, I attempted with this but I am not sure I am picking it up correctly. In fact, its picking up the address of the Apartment.
    select address, regexp_substr(address,'[[:digit:]]+( ?)(-?)( ?)[[:digit:]]+( ?)(-?)( ?)[[:digit:]]+')
    from   student_tb;
Any help in this regard would be great.
    Thanks!

Aren't Canadian phone numbers always 10 digits (where the first 3 digits are soemtimes implied), and separators, when used, only occur after the 3rd and 6th digits?
Being Canadian myself, I can answer this   Should be always 10 (sometimes 11 if somebody insists on tacking the "assumed" 1 on the front). Seperators *should* occur after the 3rd and 6th, however, I've seen all kinds of crazy ..
Parsing phone #'s has to be one of the harder things business keep asking us to do O_o (since everyone insists on entering them in their own way) *sigh*

  • Calling Tandberg endpoint from CUCM

    Hi
I am having trouble establishing a video call between E20 registered to VCS running software version X6.1.
I have a E20 and a 9971 registered to CUCM version 8.0.3. When I make a video call, the call gets connected but I dont get any video.
I also have MCS 4203 and I can join a conference from CUCM endpoint and I get video over the same SIP Trunk
I appreciate any inputs with this issue
    Regards

    It could be  CSCtc43440.
Please follow the instructions below to see if it works :
Currently, the 9971 and 9951 phones do not support video resolutions
    greater than 640x480.
If the other end point sends a size greater than this, the 9971/9951
displays a black box instead of the video sent by the other phone.
    Workaround:
To prevent non-Cisco phones from sending resolutions greater than
640x480 (VGA), the video bandwidth setting must be reduced. To change
the bit rate, set the Video Call Bandwidth parameter in the CUCM region
configuration to no more than 384 kbps for the region used by at least
    one of the phones.
Some video phone models will send larger resolution than 640x480 even at
384 kbps. If a black box is seen on the phone, continue lowering the
Video Bandwidth setting until the other phone sends video at a lower
resolution and video is visible on the 9951 or 9971 phone.
It may be desirable to place 9971/9951 phones in a separate region from
video phones that send higher video resolutions and restrict the Video
Bandwidth between those regions rather than restrict the bandwidth on
calls between phones that do not cause the black screen behavior.

    Hope this helps!

  • 3rd Party SIP phone to CUCM via SIP Proxy

    Hi all,
This is the scenario i'm currently working on :
3rd party SIP phone <--> Internet <--> SIP Proxy <--> LAN <--> CUCM
The SIP proxy basically terminates everything (REGISTER, INVITE, etc), including the RTP stream.
I can register the 3rd party SIP phone to CUCM and in CUCM and  i can see SIP Proxy IP Address as the registered address of the phone.
Calls from the 3rd party SIP phone to internal Cisco or internal 3rd party SIP phone and vice versa work like charm.
The only (fatal) problem is i can only register 1 3rd party SIP phone to CUCM via this SIP proxy.
Since this SIP Proxy always use its internal IP Address and port 5060 (TCP) as its source of registration, CUCM sees multiple registrations for multiple extensions (users) come from a single IP and port, and rejects the second registration request.
It seems that CUCM binds a digest user to an IP address and port, therefore cannot accept multiple registrations from a single IP and port.
Can anyone clarify this?  Or is there any way around this?
I'm using CUCM 8.6.2 and CUCM 9.X (both do not work).
    Regards,
    Christian

This is most likely because of the following...
Because third-party SIP phones do not send a MAC address, they must identify themselves by using digest authentication.
The REGISTER message includes the following header:
    Authorization: Digest username="xxxxxxxxxx",realm="ccmsipline",nonce="GBauADss2qoWr6k9y3hGGVDAqnLfoLk5",uri="sip:172.18.197.224",algorithm=MD5,response="126c0643a4923359ab59d4f53494552e"
The username, xxxxxxxxxxx, must match an end user that is configured in the End User Configuration window of Cisco Unified CallManager Administration. The administrator configures the SIP third-party phone with the user; for example, swhite, in the Digest User field of Phone Configuration window.
    See the following document.

Can anyone tell me why such mismatching take a place? I think it's strange because every node in the cluster has the same version OS and the same version of installed softwares. Are these mismatching critical?
    Thanks.

    Hi guys,
This error is related to a know bugID "CSCtn46780" CUCM Cluster Overview shows component mismatch after migration to VMWare
    Symptom:
After migrating from CUCM on MCS to CUCM on UCS (VMWare) then adding a subscriber, if a Cluster Overview Report is run it will show mismatch of components between the Pub and Sub.
    Workaround:
The componentversion records for a provisioned server can be deleted and repopulated with the following procedure. 1) Delete the componentversion records for a specific server (the server that was migrated and restored from different hardware).  Execute following from admin cli. a. run sql DELETE FROM componentversion WHERE fkprocessnode IN (SELECT pkid FROM processnode WHERE name='') 2) Repopulate the componentversion records by restarting Cisco Database Layer Monitor service from admin cli. a. utils service restart Cisco Database Layer Monitor The new componentversion records should only be pertinent to the new hardware.

  • Migration scenario from 3rd party mail server to GW12?

    Hi
We need to migrate from existing e-mail server (Axigen ) to GW12.
The main concern is how to do that as quickly as possible or step by step without disrupting mail traffic and users.
    Here is the situation:
In local network there is mentioned Axigen mail server serving aprox 70 users at single location.
Our official domain is hosted outside by Hosting provider where their mail server forwards all mail to our DDNS address where is ported to local mail server. Forwarding is performed discrete on user base. Each [email protected] is forwarded to [email protected]. where local server taking over.
This setting is harder to maintain because it is necessary to maintain users and aliases on outside server manually. However, this setting has some advantages. First of all, forwarding is happened immediately. If for some reason , local server is unreachable, outside server will keep on trying for two more days.
Second advantage is that we can use anti spam and virus blocking at the providers side.
Both functionality we could'nt achieve with simple global forwarding of all mail to local server.
This comment is digresion from main topic.
Outgoing mail is relayed by local server over our Internet Connection provider's SMPT host.
    Local mail is delivered locally.
We maintain local DNS server too.
Most users are using POP service, while IMAP is used by few only. All users are using Thunderbird so far.
All users in the future should use full GW capabilities with regular GW client, mobile clients and so on.
GW12 server is installed and up already. It is tested locally and tested for remote sending. So, only remote receiving is not tested yet, so neither correct domain is set yet.
Present users authentication is performed by Axigen server and LDAP connection to eDir. STARTTLS is used between clients and server.
Our plan is simple to change local DNS record point to new GW server, to change NAT/routing point to new server and set correct domain for the GW server.
We expect that this will be transparent for users while they will continue to use Thunderbird (certificate mismatch will be issued by first connection and first mail sending. But we plan to warn users in advance together with instructions what to do. My phone will ring that morning many times, I am sure). Few IMAP accounts we can prepare in advance by move mail manually to local folders and back to GW server later.
Latest step should be migrate users from Thunderbird to GW client. This need to be perfomed manually at each user seat. Each Thunderbird client need to be switched to IMAP and then mail need to move to GW server.
Here is concern about old mail volume. Many users have their old mail archived in local folders by years. Some of them has quite huge amount of archived mails with heavy attachments. However old mail can be moved gradually later.
So, this is our plan. Does anybody has any suggestion, comment or wish to point some problem we didn't aware of?
    Thank you.

most of this sounds good. With such heavy imap/pop usage, you MIGHT
want to consider installing a temporary dedicated gwia just for that
separate from the smtp handling gwia. But that might not be necessary at
all. 70 people isn't THAT much.
