Migrate to FMS with AS 3.0

I am just getting back into Flash after having been gone for
about a year. I'd like to migrate from FCS to FMS and I'd like to
use Actionscript 3.0. I have downloaded the demos but they are all
using AS 2.0. Are there any tutorials for Flash Media Server
communications components using Actionscript 3.0?
I saw Stefan Richter has a book that covers FMS. Does that
cover it? Thanks.

Well, everything is the same? Euhmmm. I am now running fms 3
and flash cs4, with fcs and flash pro 8 i could use and work with
the communications components, now i can't do anything, i even read
that you can't use the communications components as it only will
work with actionscript 1.
Personally i really don't understand this, you update to the
newest technology and as result you can't do anything :)
After browsing and browsing on the net i didn't find any
solutions only more questions, so for fms 3 and flash cs4 no
communications components anymore???

Hello Manisha,
The one of the possible reasons for this is due to lack of H/W.
Increase your RAM size to atleast 2GB and utilise the same while you are installing ECC in database parameters step..
If the issue is with H/W, then this should fix the issue.

Does the migration extension work with GoLive CS1?

When DW became my program-of-choice, I chose not to upgrade to GL-CS2; and now would like to move my GL7.0.2 sites to DW-CS3. Will the migration extension work with those sites?

My GL9 approach was not successful ended in things like null is no object etc.
I folllow Murrays advice to work from scratch the cumbersome way, i.e.
Without the extension If you create a DW site that points into the root folder for your DW site,
you will be able to open and edit the files.

iTunes is required to initially activate the phone. Back when the iPhone 3G was sold, you would take it out of the box and see a "Connect to iTunes" screen. She HAD to connect to a computer in order to begin using the phone. Does she remember what computer this was?

Documentation for FMS with IIS?

I have installed FMS without Apache, since I already have IIS running on my server. I have noticed that Apache seems to be the default web server to use with FMS; hence the abundance of documentation and notes Adobe has provided. However, I can't find any documentation on how to configure FMS with IIS. Is there any(documentation) from Adobe or anywhere else?
I would like to be able to run both video clips (RTMP and HTTP) from the Samples section of Flash Media Server 3.5/webroot/index.html.

I'm able to ping 23.28.193.9, however I can't successfully pull-up anything in a browser from it. I have tried the following:

How to migrate Apex users with existing passwords.

Our apex env finally getting a upgrade from 3.1.1 to 4.1.1 (I know, it's been overdue for years)
Some of our apps use 'Application Express' authentication, and have few hundreds users in Apex (and users belong to diff user groups).
The issue is, the 4.1.1 env is set up on a brand new server and DB, we want to migrate these users with their existing passwords from the 3.1.1 env.
I tried exporting the workspace, and the users are exported as below,

Anyone knows how to export apex users with existing password to a new server?

Not sure why you say
when I run this in 4.1.1 I had to modify it to the new format as below, If you just run the workspace export sql it should create the Workspace, Groups and Users

Note there is no HEX_ENCODED_DIGEST, DIGEST_V2 listed. It may work, but not obvious from the signature.

FMS with Stratus

Hi,
We want to build for our community site an Instant Messenger
with some collaboration features. Our idea is to have IM as
peer-to-peer by using stratus. It’s a really great technology
we think.
I have a couple of questions about Stratus. What I need to
know is, how we will handle the users, we need our own Server for
Stratus connections, isn’t it? When will be a Stratus Server
or FMS with Stratus features available? And can we use meanwhile
the Stratus Beta Service for our IM? If yes are there any
restrictions (concurrent users etc.)

I assume cocomo is also another adobe hosted solution. So reliance on it is not in my plans yet.
I did some googling and it looks that some folks from Adobe were claiming RMTFP will available in FMS 3.5.2. Which obviously not the case.
Meantime other adobe folks say here it's is not yet avail in FMS.
So, Adobe.... ????
Can you come out and tell us the roadmap for RTMFP in FMS, so we can plan our development and testing better, please?
The more you hiding the technology the more time you leave for competitors to catch up and front run. And us... to turn out... for something similar...

Migrating multiple domains with same name - how? Rename? Migrate through temporary domain?

Hi,
we have acquired another company, and they have multiple, separate domains with the same name (every site has a domain with NetBIOS name "COMPANY" and DNS name "company.local"). Now we want to migrate all these domains into ours using
ADMT.
Unfortunately, we did not manage to migrate one of these domains completely, so the trust must remain established for some time. But we have to continue with the second domain - which normally would require a trust, but of course we can't establish a trust
to two domains with the same name at the same time.
I found two potential solutions for the dilemma, but I'm not sure if both are reasonable:
1) Rename the domain with RENDOM.EXE to COMPANY2 and company2.local and then migrate with ADMT
2) Migrate COMPANY to a temporary domain such as COMPANYTEMP and then migrate from COMPANYTEMP to our domain
Given that there are roughly 100 users, 2 domain controllers and 8 other servers, what would be the better approach? Is option 2 possible at all, so would I be able to use the sidHistory attribute migrated from the original COMPANY domain in our domain at
all?
There is also an Exchange 2007 server, which seems to make option 1 impossible unless we find another way to migrate it (like, export all mailboxes to PST before migration) ...

Ok, that's what I expected. Still, I have servers in the old domain, so if I do these steps:
first create a new temporary domain i.e COMPANYTEMP and
create trust between COMPANYTEMP -
COMPANY(Right)
then do the migration with sidHistory from COMPANY(right) --> COMPANYTEMP ,
disconnect the domain COMPANY(right) ,
users will lose connectivity to any servers in the domain. I understand that it does not work with all domains connected? Of course I can't make OURCOMPANY's domain controllers see the DCs of COMPANY (right) in DNS (though I could achieve it the other way

Migration of PO with "free item" indicator not working (BAPI_PO_CREATE1)

Hi experts,
we are using the BAPI_PO_CREATE1 to migrate POs. However, when we try to create a line item with a price of 0.0 and a "free item" indicator, the PO is created with a price and without the "free item" indicator (price seems to be coming from source list).
Did anyone run into this problem before with BAPI_PO_CREATE1?

POITEM - NET_PRICE & donot flag the same in POITEMX
& flag the field POITEM - FREE_ITEM & also check the same in POITEMX

Migration ***'t works with Thunderbolt to RJ45 Adapter?

Just wanted to confirm that the latest version of Migration Assistant will work with a Thunderbolt to RJ45 adapter. We're upgrading an "old" MBP 4,1 to the latest MBP. Would it also work with the Thunderbolt to Firewire adapter? Which would be faster?

Of course. You can connect both iMacs with a FireWire 800 cable and a Thunderbolt to FireWire adapter without any problem. The problem would come if the old iMac has not got FireWire 800 ports, but the Mid 2007 iMac comes with one.
In order to use Migration Assistant and transfer files from another iMac through FireWire, you need to put your old iMac in Target Disk mode as you said. To do this, simply hold the T key while your old iMac is starting up until you see the FireWire icon in the display. Then you can set up your new iMac, and you will be asked to transfer your data.

How to migrate installment plan with open items

Hi all,
I am trying to figure out how to migrate an installment plan, when my legacy system does not tie my open items directly to my installment plans. And the amounts in my open items table may not add up to the exact amount of the installment plan.
So for a simple example, I have $10 left on an installment plan that was created 6 months ago.
Since the creation of the plan obviously more charges and payments have been posted to this account, clearing previously open items and creating new ones.
Presently, I have only 2 open items remaining, one for $6 and one for $7.
So I have "enough" open items ($13 worth) to post the $10 installment plan, but not an exact match.
The way I read the migration documentation on this, I thought I could use a OPUPZ field (Subitem for a Partial Clearing in Document) to signify that I want to partially clear that $7 charge. Apparently I misinterpreted that.
So my question is, is there a way to migrate this installment plan with this set of open items?
Or is my only option to alter the payment plan to the open items, and say that there is $13 remaining on the plan?

The principal Idea is to migrate either
- the original amounts, the installment plan and last the latest payments (you migrate payment history)
- or to migrate the still open amount as one or more open items and subsequently an installment based on that amount.

PO receipt only made till Receive AND Deliver is still not done.
Invoice is already made and matched with PO and Receipt.
Does oracle interfaces support the above

Standard receipt made but only the receive part, not the deliver part
Invoice is made and matched with the PO and receipt but is yet unpaid
The above case remains till the cutover hence we need to migrate the PO, receipt and the invoice..right?
How to do that
migrate the above all or cancel the invoice, cancel the receipt and cancel the PO than recreate the PO, Receipt and Invoice in the new SOB

Migrate RoboHelp 2002 with RoboHelp 7

I want to convert my hold RoboHelp file with version 7 or 8, i don't know today which one i must choose. But i got both and i began to convert with 7 first.
My version into «Help about robohelp» Robohelp for winhelp 2002.r2. Build 1092.
If needed, i can send you the detail of all file included in the version (DLL).
First, the way i go, was suggested by johndaigle in problem:

I do this:
«open RoboHelp for Word and from the File menu, click New > select the Import tab
and choose Other Help Projects and locate the .hpj project from there. This will convert the project to RoboHelp for Word v6». I compile the project. I join the result generated. If it's suppose to work on the first time, i'm really not convice. I had topic coded with html jump on a JPEG file and the result is really bizarre. If i open my result HLP file and go into the page with the image, I see a broken text who said the camera.bmp is missing. Second, when i click on the suppose to be link on an image, i falling on other part of my help text, who as nothing concerning my JPG image but I see some other help text. If I changed my Image Folders (BMROOT) sequence, and I re-compile, i can't go further because i got the message; The I:\fof006\RBHelp7\Ventex\!SSL!\Winhelp_4\VENTEF.hlp file is not a Windows Help file or the file is corrupted. I go on my drive I:\ and path to see if my HLP file and the content are there. He's there, but he remain 0 bytes.
Anybody can help me on the way to proceed to convert or migrate. Naybody can help me on the problem with an image call by an html jump. All the problem said here, was not present on my older version and working fine !

First, if could help, I join an image of my version of RoboHelp we have here.
We already have files in DOC, PRS RBH and RTF for result after we built our HLP; I give you a sample:
Auto1.doc, Auto1.prs, Auto1.rbh, Auto1.rtf
Auto10.doc, Auto10.prs, Auto10.rbh, Auto10.rtf
Auto11.doc, Auto11.prs, Auto11.rbh, Auto11.rtf
For the time we can't think change the extension result other than HLP, because the result is re-used inside another system and by the moment we just want made an update of RoboHelp before thinking produce the file in other form than winhelp4 or win2000.
So, i'm gonna try the suggestion you made to try convert our past system by opening a new project and import all the DOC file. I'm not really sure, but i'm gonna try. At this time, if I open a new project at the opening of robohelp and I use the IMPORT, the result was not too bad and better by using Robohelp 8 than 7. And by the way, we used some special characters, indentation and bullet native from word. So, the DOT file is important, but be change.
You can feed me some other information if it's possible for you to help me further. I'm gonna try some solution and check if the result could be good for us.

HT4889 Can I merge the new migrated users files with the admin user on the new mac?

I used the migration assistant to transfer users, files, apps etc from my MacBook Pro to my new iMac. I had already set up the desktop with my name as the user. So, during transfer, it created a new user... So, I want the initial user and the new transfer user accounts to be merged. Is this possible? If not, does it matter?

It's possible by using the Shared folder to move items into and then into your admin account.
It can be messy. If it were me I'd do a factory reset and then do the migration in Setup Assistant.
