Migrate VM´s from 2.2.2 to 3.1

Hi,
I need to now whats the best way to migrate our running VM´s from old OVS 2.2.2 to a new system OVS 3.1.
We installed a spare system with OVS3.1.
I found a meta link note to save the VM´s as a template and to clone to the OVM 3.1 servers.

But does anyone know another way to go ? We have some problem to save all systems as a template.

Thus far I have mainly been focused on getting my ovs-3.2.1 single server/local storage VMs moved to our new ovs3.2.1 HA cluster & used the SimpleHTTPServer method which worked great for 3.2.1 to 3.2.1... Haven't had a chance to do any migrations from our ovs 2 clusters yet but plan to start with the SimpleHTTPServer.
The SimpleHTTPServer method takes them right off the ovs2 box and directly as templates in the ovs3 box. You can then take the ovs3 template to an ovs3 VM & then delete the template so no big extra space needed on either ovs box (but twice the IO on the ovs3 box)...
Per Bob's & Dave's recommendations you might be able to bypass the template stage as they indicate the best way to "migrate vms to different/other OVM servers is to import the disks first, and then create a new vm pointing to the imported disks.
Obviously you need to know the details of the vm you are recreating, such as OS version, PVM vs HVM, etc."
I haven't tried that yet but am likely going to as I have been having issues with disk types created by P2Vs & template migrations in 3.2.1 causing me to have to manually modify the disk types in the vm.cfg files to get the vms to boot. There may be a better way but that is what I have been doing for now...
I did take a disk file from a clone of one of my 3.2.1 P2Vs and released it from that clone vm & then attached it to a new 'clean' vm that I created from scratch with a new vm.cfg and it booted fine so I have faith that Bob & Dave are right.
Please report back what methods seem to work best for you and I will try to do the same.

I can't migrate iPhoto library from time machine

I have my iPhoto library backed up on time machine and want to restore it to a new mac mini, but every time I try, I create a new account and a blank photo library!
If I try to get to the folder library in Finder on my Mac Mini I don't have permission to access.
The time machine back-up is from a MBP, and I can access the library & folder from my MBP laptop. Is my only option to restore to MBP and then migrate from there? (I'd like to avoid doing this, because its a 60gb library and will end up taking a few days to migrate twice (once from TM to MBP and once from MBP to MM)

I was told by Apple that it probably is not serious and is coming from the fans in the MacBook. It is true that the smell/odor is more intense when the fans are working. Apple said I should take the MacBook to an Apple Store to have the hardware checked out. Everything seems to be working correctly. I am backing up automatically wirelessly to a Time Capsule, which I had not done until recently, although I had purchased the Time Capsule in 2009. I have not noticed this odor before. Does anyone suspect something more serious that may be going on?

You may be smelling it because with the new OS the processor is having to work harder causing it to get hotter then it would with the other OS. I can't say there is nothing wrong, but what could be happening is just that, it's getting hotter so the fan is spinning faster and moving more air so you are getting more of the smell then you would before. I would still continue to back it up, and take it to the Apple Store at a Genius Bar and have them look at it to make sure. Was the computer ever in a smoky environment??

You deactivate it on the old system, then reinstall it on your new one using your serial number.
Don't forget to copy all your data over.

It's not officially supported, but you can try a couple of things - first open the application in the old version and see if it works.
If it doesn't you can try creating a new application in the old version and then use the create project from existing source option to map to your existing code.
This all of course assumes that you didn't use features in the new version that are not available in the old version.

Error while migrating repository files from Brio to Interactive reporting

I am facing error when I am migrating resitory files from brio 8 to Interactive reporting version11 environment.
Error [[ENOENT]] Accessing path: /c2cnas/Oracle/Hyperion_Home/EPMSystem11R1/products/biplus/opencat
when I checked at my Linux server I do not see "opencat" directory under /c2cnas/Oracle/Hyperion_Home/EPMSystem11R1/products/biplus path. I don't know why this directory or folder was missed after Hyperion Interactive Reporting Installation. Do we need to create this folder manually for newer versions( 11.x)?
Has anyone aware of this error? will it impact my migration? I am thinking that migration utility is looking to place .oce files in this directory but it could not find. is my understanding correct?
Please help me on this.

Usually in 11.1.2.1 the folder will be "EPMSystem11R1\products\biplus\data\Open Catalog Extensions"
I haven't seen a opencat folder.
Can you check the migration logs.Also check permission for the user on the folders.

I figured it out. You have to select the actual logo of the Lightroom catalog and then click on "get info" and allow what ever your new user name to "read and write". That worked!

Apple does not support intermediate iOS updates...you can only update to the latest iOS version that will run on your iOS device. Therefore, you have to update to iOS 8.1, not 7.1.2. The files appropriate to your device are only available in 8.1.

This is realated to Upgrading your domain.You can upgrade your domain from bea weblogic8.1SP4 to Bea weblogic 10.You need to use the upgrade tool from bea weblogic platform10.You can start the Upgrade wizard tool from Windows Start->All Programs->BEA Products->Tools->DomianUpgradeWizard.The tool will take you to upgrade the domain automatically.Once you have upgraded the domian everything(database connection pools,users,groups,any other resources) in 8.1 domian will be changed to 10.

I can't migrate my data from my old pc to my new macbook pro

I have been trying to migrate my data from my PC to my new mac but it always seems to fail.
At first, I would begin the migration assistant and then after a while the PC would just crash.
But then I finally thought I managed to get it working. It said that process was complete (on both the PC and mac), but there was no data on my computer and no music in my iTunes.
If anyone has any advice I would really appreciate it!!
PS I also have an Ethernet cable if that's of any use but I don't know how to use it.

I suggest you stop using the Migrastion Assistant. Simple fact is, as you have found out, that it does not work most of the time and when it fdoes actuall transfer data it doesn't do it very well.
Just network the 2 computer together over your LAN and copy and past the files you want to move to the Mac.
Otr use an External drive, formatted either FAT32 or exFAT (doinig the formatting on the Windows PC) and then copy to the external from the Win PC and then copy from the external to the Mac.
You'll be happier.

Migrating Time Capsule from 1TB to 2TB

Hi, I'm currently having an issue with my *Time Machine* ( TM ), these are the facts...
Yesterday...
I had a MacBook, an external *350GB HD* almost full and a 1TB *Time Capsule* ( TC ) only used by TM with backups _since april 2009_...
Today...
I have the same MacBook, my external *350GB HD* has just filled up, a new *2TB TC*, and the old *1TB TC* with my backups mentioned above.
So I want to...
Redirect my TM backups from the *1TB TC* to the new *2TB TC* in order to dismiss my old fashioned *350GB HD* after and replace it with the old *1TB TC* used as an external HD (kind of a replacing waterfall made in the correct order, dismissing the little and oldie one by a newer and more powerful, and so on).
I do fine when redirecting (change disk option at TM preferences) the TC from the 1TB to the 2TB but backups (_since april 2009_) get lost when entering *TM _unless using back_* the *1TB TC*...
I find no way to migrate all my backups to the newer and bigger TC (That's what makes my TM worthy)...
I've tried twice each of the following...
1) To backup the *1TB TC* but the disk image is what gets backed up.
2) Copy the Disk Image (550GB) from TC to TC but access privileges interfere when copying the disk image file (at 250GB progress = 50%)... I get a not enough privileges message but I'm "super user" in both TCs.
I've tried the process either wirelessly (both on the same wireless network) and via ethernet, both through an *Airport Extreme* as main router.
Essential issues like being connected to both TCs, passwords (if any) and having no problems on network issues (all green light markers on hardware) are held.
What do I do...? I just want to migrate my backups from one TC to another (bigger) one.
Now I'm in the mood of mounting both backup volumes (after creating an empty one on 2TB TC) and copy manually every backup folder created there from TC2TC... however, I'd like to know if there is another way... I mean... there should be!

How to migrate the data from DB to another DB

Hi folks,
             In my project I have one requirement. Let me explain in detail we are maintain two databases one for
             master database called *GIIS* and one is history database HIST. Both DB version is 10g R1.
             (Both DB’s have same no table as well structures)
             1. The GIIS database contains nearly 400 tables (master table as well as temporary table)
                   each Master table having it’s own temporary table.
             2. Whenever we made the entry first it will go to temporary table after authorized that entry it will move to the master table
             3. But the temporary table contains the data after move to master table .
             4.     The temporary table data’s will be move to the HIST database each and every day at the night.
                This migration we done through the procedure. After migration complete the temporary table data’s will de deleted.
My Question:
           1.     Whether it’s good practice to migrate the data from GIIS DB to another HIST DB using oracle stored procedure.
                 (we created the DB link from GIIS to HIST)
           2.     If not can any one suggest me the way to migrate the data from GIIS to HIST.?
           3.     Is there any other possibility to migrate the data from GIIS to HIST with out using procedure?Thanks

But in client side they don't know how to do the IMPORT & EXPORT the database..

If the client doesn't know how to do exp/imp, I would really doubt and would be immensely concerned before suggesting the client any other way. If they don't know, tell them that there is a concept called test database which is used for learning so they should invest time to learn this technique since the other options suggested by fellow members are far more tougher than this one.
