Migrated family user to laptop....want to keep apps but change user and iCloud, calendar, email association

migrated family user account to my laptop. have my own identity and user on laptop including iCloud account, email set-up, etc. Now need to take the migrated user account and change it to the new identity I established...that way will retain the apps and documents, etc.....but need to associate it with correct iCloud account, email settings, etc. Doesn't seem straightforward. Any suggestions?

You will also have to copy the iPod backup file to the new computer and then restore your iPod from backup using that backup. The file is located here:
iTunes places the backup files in the following places:
Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Windows Vista and Windows 7: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Note: If you do not see the AppData or Application Data folders, you may need to show hidden files (Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7), or iTunes may not be installed in the default location. Show hidden files and then search the hard drive for the Backup directory
You can also make a backup on the new computer by conneting the iPod and right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and selecting BackUp. When you retore from backup sometime the app folder structure get messed up.

When using the Clip Trimmer, you click DONE to indocate that you are finished.
The Trim To Selection is a great tool and I use it all the time, but you use it in the main project timeline, not the clip trimmer. Just select the frames you want so that the yellow border is around them. Then right-click and select Trim to Selection.

No backup? Never a good idea to not maintain a backup of your important data. If you do not have a backup, follow these instructions:
By design, the iphone will sync itunes content with one computer at a time. Any attempt to sync such content with a second computer will result in ALL itunes content being first erased from your phone & then replaced with the content from the second computer. This is a design feature and cannot be overridden. Because you formatted your computer, your phone, will see your computer as a "new" computer. The itunes content sync is one way: computer to phone. If you have photos that were synced to your phone or music ripped on your own that were not backed up, you will first have to extract them from your phone using third party software, before you do anything else:

Once you've done that, do the following in the order specified:
1. Disable auto sync when an ipod/iphone is connected under preferences in itunes(under the edit menu).
2. Make sure you have one contact & one event in whatever supported applications you use for contact & calendar syncing. These entries can be fake, doesn't matter, the important point is that these programs not be empty.
3. Connect your phone, itunes running, do not sync at this point.
4. Store>Authorize this computer.
5. File>Transfer Purchases(To make sure all purchased content on your phone will be in your itunes library).
6. Right click in the device pane & select reset warnings.
7. Right click again and select backup.
8. Right click again & select restore from backup, select the backup you just made. When prompted to create another backup, decline.
9. This MUST be followed by a sync to restore your itunes content, which you select from the various tabs, You'll get a popup regarding your contacts & calendars asking to merge or replace, select merge.
That's as good as it gets without a backup of your itunes library and other important data..

If the phone is Activation Locked the phone is useless to you. There is no way around Apple's antitheft feature. To check this go to Settings/iCloud and turn off Find my iPhone. If it asks for a passcode for an Apple ID that is not yours it is still Activation Locked, and there is a high probability it is stolen.

You can use one Apple ID for purchasing (App Store & iTunes Store) and shared with your child whereas your child uses a different Apple ID for Game Center, e-mail, FaceTime, iMessage. Even on iCloud there you'll get an extra 5GB free.

Question on creating users and icloud

I have noticed that my Macbook Pro will create its own user. I immediately deleted this user since I didn't create it and thought it was taken care of. Well, I turned on my computer again today and the user was created again, without my consent. My initial reaction is to think that this is a virus but I started using iCloud recently to share photos with my family and thought maybe using iCloud will create a user for some reason. This hasn't happened before in the 4 years I have owned the Macbook Pro. I updated to Mavericks so maybe something finally came through in the update. I really have no idea what is going on. All I am used to seeing when I turn on my computer is the administrator (me) and another user I created. Now there is a third user that has been created all by itself. Has anyone encountered this before? Any help would be appreciated!! Basically, I am stressed out because now I think I have a virus.

The Guest account is built-in. It has probably been activated again by a recent system update. Updates will sometimes reset the preference settings to default values. But I would keep the Guest Account active. This account cannot be used by remote users. And it is a nice honey pot, if you ever lose your Mac. If you are not in the US then you cannot use the US store, the store's terms say that you have to be in a country to use it - if you are using the US store then you are risking having your account disabled.

I understood that the iCloud calendar is used in outlook (and original outlook calendar is sent to deleted folder),
