Migrating Code to Java EE 5

Dear All,
We have a small application written in Java Swing that takes inputs and stores/ updates in MS Access database.
We want to migrate this to Java EE 5.
Please tell me how to proceed.

How do I rewrite current code for java 1.3

I'm using the code below that is written for java 1.4. I have been told that the company can not push JRE 1.4 to the company, and that I need to write my code for java 1.3. I'm using org.w3c.dom for my create xml, etc.

Are there features of Java 1.4 that you specifically took advantage and are there any particular lines you are having problems with or did you just freak and post it here?
Basically compile it under Java 1.3 and see what complains. I've done several projects that compile under 1.2, 1.3, and 1.4.

Since I installed Java 4 ver 1.4 on my computer, I have not been able to access my homebanking. In the Java console I get the following message:
1.4.0 on Windows XP
Netscape security model is no longer supported.
Please migrate to the Java 2 security model instead.
What does it mean, and how do I fix the problem???

This is a real pain. I can't roll out Java 1.4 inside our company because we use several applets for which we do not have the source code, and they no longer work because of this limitation. Sun needs to fix this if they want people to upgrade to Java 1.4.

Being picky, that's not C++, that's C. Standard headers in C++ dont' have .h after them, loop variables are scoped with the for, you use constants rather than #defines, etc..
C and C++ both don't initialise arrays by default; you'd have to write an initialiser to get it to zero out the array:
int s[sz][sz] = {};gcc will insert a call to memset to zero the array.
If the author was assuming that the array was zeroed out, there would be no point zeroing the first row and column.
The code reads values which haven't been initialised. If you mark such values explicitly undefined, and change the program to report an error when undefined, then you get several cases where the program makes such report.
So either it' s a primitive random number generator (some random number generators use uninitialised memory as a source of randomness), or it's buggy, or it's processing undefined data and throwing away the result. Either way, it cannot be directly be ported to Java if the undefined values (which are limited to a small area of the ouput) are significant.

I have tried in DB adapter like below as a parameter for :1 as #vInputParam

Hi,
Could you please make sure your binding style(Oracle Positional,Oracle named..etc) of the Seeded VO and Custom Vo are same.
This is the option you will get when you are extending your vo. So make sure that both are same.

HI, this is my first post BTW, I dont know much about Java its just that when i try to access my work from home(united Airlines). It was working fine until i had to format My hd and since u can no longer download java from the microsoft site i had to come here to download the newer version and havent been able to access it since. So you mean your applet is working in Netscape 6.2 after editing prefs.js. In that case, one possible solution is take away the support of netscape.security.* in your applet . Because netscape.* packages 'might' use the Netscape Security model, which is no longer supported(check out). Hence the system asks you to migrate to the current java security model. Even if you remove the netscape.* support, your applet will work, if you have signed it properly. In that case, you don't have to touch prefs.js or java.policy or anything from your client machine.(provided you use standard certificates like verisign).
Since you have only class file of the applet and not the source, decompile the class file and make the alteration and compile it back. A decompiler Jad is available here http://midlet.org/jsp/category.jsp?parentLevel=137.

Hello Experts,
We are migrated ESS Trips and expenses from WD Java to WD ABAP.
Following steps I have performed
1.     Activated FIN_TRAVEL_1 and FIN_TRAVEL_2 business functions.
2.     checked FITV_TRIP_FORM service in SICF /sap/bc/webdynpro/sap its active .
3.     Currently we are SAP ESS 6.0 EHP 4 , and accordingly we have down loaded
uwl_com.sap.pct.erp.mss.tra.14.zip , (for SAP ECC 6.0, Enhancement Package 4) [Note 1076144 - ESS trips and   expenses: Migration from WD Java to WD ABAP]
file as suggested in Migration from WD Java to WD ABAP in ESS Trips and Expenses user guide
4.     after uploading uwl_com.sap.pct.erp.mss.tra.14.zip file in SAP NetWeaver Portal -> System Administration -> System Configuration -> Universal Worklist->& Workflow -> Universal Worklist Administration.-> Object Types and View Definitions -> com.sap.pct.erp.mss.tra.
5.     after uploading file, when manager click up on u201Ccheck trip of ABCu201D workitem in his uwl , he is getting following error.
404   Not Found
SAP J2EE Engine/7.01
The requested resource does not exist.

Any idea for fixing this issue.

in the java system , the portal will launch the approval frm the same system , for the abap component , the task type in uwl you might have to define a dynamic property as "System" and give the name of your r/3 system in there.
