Migrating Custom Dictionary from earlier version of Robohelp

Hi
I've just upgraded from Robohelp Offce to Robohelp8.
On migrating the first of my projects, it sems that although the project is converted to Robohelp8, it does not bring with it the custom dictionary associated with the older project. This has hundred of (technical) words in.
Does anyone know how I can import the custom dictionary?
Thanks
Martin

The custom dictionary is in a .tlx file should I think is held in your ApplicationData/Help directory against each userid on the PC. I don't suppose you made a copy of this before upgrading to RH8 as it may have been overriddden. You can add personal dictionaries via the Tools > Spelling Options menu item if you have.

    Whats happening

Pages v5 (including v5.5.2) lacks about 100+ features found in Pages '09 v4.3. When Pages v5 encounters unsupported content in Pages '09 (or very early Pages v5) templates, it communicates this to you as an application freeze. As Pages '09 v4.3 runs on Yosemite, and you may still have it in /Applications/iWork '09, you may want to use it instead. Recreating templates is not the best use of your time.

  • Is it possible to migrate the app from latest version to older version

    Hi all,
I have a adf application in jdeveloper 11.1.1.4.0.Due to some issues i have to do it in jdeveloper 11g release 2 (11.1.1.2.0).Is it possible to migrate the application from latest version to older version of jdev.
    Thanks.

It's not officially supported, but you can try a couple of things - first open the application in the old version and see if it works.
If it doesn't you can try creating a new application in the old version and then use the create project from existing source option to map to your existing code.
This all of course assumes that you didn't use features in the new version that are not available in the old version.

  • Opening projects in CS4 from earlier versions of Premiere

I have various projects in Premiere 2.0. They work fine.
I tried opening one in Premiere CS4. It mostly works, but I found a small hickup where a transition (cross disolve) is quite messed up. Otherwise, it seems the project is playing the same in CS4.
My question is: how accurate is it to open projects in CS4 from an earlier version? I don't really want to have to go through every second of every project to make sure it works properly, yet I would like to upgrade to CS4.
What's the normal protocol for this? I'm sure people deal with having to open projects from earlier version of Premiere all the time.

    Harm,
Thanks for your answer -- it's helpful. I will follow your advice.
What blows my mind is what the legions of editors out there do when they have to old up an old project? This must happen all the time!
Do editors have to maintain two machines -- one with the old version of Premiere to open up their old project, and another machine to work on new projects? Oh, I guess they need one machine for each version they've ever created a Premiere project in. That's like 5 machines.
Seriously, what to people do when they have to open up an old project for whatever reason? It's seems like if you open it up in the latest version of Premiere, you would have to go through every second of the project very carefully to make sure there are errors introduced -- way time consuming.

I installed the InDesign CC Testversion and now i try to open INDD-Files from earlier Version. Always i get the error "This file is made by an earlier Version...." but it´s CC that is the latest Version. What is the problem ? Should i have to convert the files ?

Adobe has been using confusing version names for at least five years.
There are now two versions labeled CC, version 9 and version 10 (also known as CC 2014). Version 10 is the latest, and if you attempt to open a version 10 file in Version 9 that is not fully patched you will get an error message telling you that the file cannot be opened. The latest patch for version 9 should use a cloud-based service at Adobe to convert version 10 files to IDML and allow you to open that.
I suspect you may be using an older operating system. Version 10 requires that your system runs at least OS X 10.7 or Windows 7 SP1 and if you are not it will not even be offered to you.

  • Updating projects from earlier versions of FCPX to FCPX 10.01.3. FCP does'nt see the project i want to update.

I've successfully updated projects that were already in previous version libraries, but have some archived ones from earlier versions of FCPX which the program does not see to update. Any ideas on how to do this!

I am assuming you mean projects from 10.0.x
You need to place them in the traditional location "Final Cut Projects" (at the root of an external drive or inside your Movies folder), and likewise your events inside a folder "Final Cut Events".
Then use File->Update Projects and Events...

  • How to migrate custom application from AK to MDS ?

I have got a custom application in Apps 11.5.8 where the data is stored in the AK_REGIONS table, etc. and the custmo application is registered in FND_APPLICATION table correctly. When applying the OAF 5.7 patch, the data is not migrated to MDS.
    Answer:
This is because the OAF 5.7 patch does not migrate product data automatically. It is up to the development teams to do this.
With Custom applications, there is apparently no documented or supported mechanism to migrate this data from AK to MDS.
    Solution:
OA Framework 5.7 (or OAF 5.10) can read the page definitions out of AK, so there is no pressing need to migrate the page definitions anyway. (See Metalink Note 216823.1 for example of this) When a page needs to be changed, the page will need to be changed via AK Developer as before, or manually recreated using JDeveloper which will then be using the MDS repository.

Do you mind telling me how you do it from the client ? All the libraries for the import utilities seem to be present in the application server. How (and what) to bring to the client where my jdeveloper resides ?
    Thanks in advance...

  • Acrobat 9 dynamic stamp customized transfer from previous version

client of mine made a custom dynamic stamp and they can get it set up fine (dynamic field inserted in the stamp) and in the correct folder where it pulls the other stamps, but it is not finding it in the stamp list in the program, is what they've told me. This was functioning properly in our old computer when they were an earlier version of Acrobat. I want to know how I can get it to show up. The custom stamp I believe is a jpg cause it was created in photoshop.

The Acrobat/Reader stamp file specification has not changed sinced Acrobat/Reader 6. So if the stamped worked in an earlier verion it will work in Acrobat 9 and later as well. Since she recreated the stamp it is very likely that she did something different, because it sounds like the stamp was made incorrectly.
Not all pages in the stamp file are stamps. Stamp pages are marked in a special way. You typically make a dynamic stamp by first creating a static stamp, and then manually modifying that static stamp. So, did she create a static stamp first? and does this static stamp show up where it should on the stamp menus? This is the starting point for a dynamic stamp, and the first thing that should be checked before adding dynamic features to the stamp file. See the link below for the "All About PDF Stamps" book. You'll find everything you need to know about creating stamps there.
BTW: it is not a good idea to add new custom stamps to the built-in stamps, and especially if it means editing the original built-in dynamic stamp file. It is much better to create your own stamp categories.
You also need to restart Acrobat after creating the dynamic stamp file.

  • Migrating Rule manager from Endeca version 2.1.2 to Endeca V 11.0

    Hi All,
I am trying to migrate rules in Rule manager from Endeca version 2.1.2 to Endeca v11.0.
After migration, all the rules show up correctly in Rule Manager in 11.0.
Rules on 11.0 are using cartridge type "LegacyRule" which was created by migration script.
But when I check supplemental objects in endeca_jspref, I do not see any properties from the cartridge.
Only properties which are displayed are endeca's internal properties. I have pasted one such supplemental object below.
Does anybody have idea on why MDEX in v11.0 is not returning cartridge properties?
On 3.1.2, all the cartridge properties and record IDs are coming in property called "endeca.internal.content.embedded" property. This is property is coming in v11.0.
Here is what I see in endeca_jspref.

  • Keyword problem - assigned kw from earlier versions won't work in 1.3

All of my images are organized by keywords and I've just noticed that most of the keywords assigned in earlier versions of LR are not working. The keyword palette is there, it says there's x amount of photos with each keyword, a thumbnail displays in the navigator window but nothing shows up in the main Library view. I get the message "no photos match this filter".
Any ideas? I really don't want to have to go through and re-keyword everything.
I have tried optimizing the db, and also selected all photos and hit Ctrl-S to write metadata and still no go.

Now I feel like an idiot. I had a filter on. Thanks Kenneth.

  • Template From Earlier Version

My website was created using Dreamweaver MX in 2004 by someone who is no longer with our company. I am attempting to revise the site. I have loaded DW CS4 and am operating on Windows XP. I have created new pages using a template from MX version. The pages show up in my design view and in the local file list. They appear on the remote file list but the size says 0 KB (they say 10 KB on the local list). When I sync them, it says it works. When I "put" them for the upload, they will not. Is there a problem with using the template from the older version? Note: changes I made to existing pages (also created by this same template) upload fine and appear on the website.

When it asked if you want to put dependent files, it is asking if you want to upload any linked/imported css files,
any graphic files that might be used on the page, etc.
I you insert an image into a page, you will have to upload that to the webserver (ftp). If you select yes to put dependent files, then that is done for you by DW, otherwise, you will have to do it manually (select the file in the "files" menu and "put".
If your pages are on the web server, then it sounds like DW is doing what it is supposed to.

  • Missing title from earlier version

    Hello Apple, iMovie community,
I am strageling to find a very useful 'title' animation that was once used in iMovie software. In the new one and in Final Cut I could not find it anymore.
If I import an old iMovie project which has this 'title' and would like to edit it, iMovie crashes.
Here is a link to a clip containing the above 'title':

Could you help finding a way to use this 'title' animation again?
    Any help appreciated.

    Michael,
The one problem with sending files from my, or anyone's, copy of PrE is that all of that material is © by Adobe Systems. They are not mine, per se, to send.
When I am sent such files, usually Menu Sets in PSD, from versions of PrE, or Encore that I do not own, to test for the Forum, I Delete those, as soon as my testing is complete, as I do not have the rights to use those files - only if I had the version of the Adobe program, from which they came.
I do not recall if the Additional Functional Content is available as a second install from the physical media discs in PrE 8 (never had that version), or whether it will install if another, later version of PrE is installed on a system, but if you have either the physical, or the second of the two download files, you might try to install that Additional Functional Content. One consideration is whether this Generic1 Title is in the limited Functional Content, that is installed WITH PrE, or is in the CAB (or other file type), in the Additional Functional Content.
Knowing that it IS in PrE 4.0 does not answer the above question. Heck, until ATR did his research, I never thought that it might be in my older version, but with the PNG (necessary to display the PRTL file in the Library Display) elsewhere. Thanks to ATR for that work, and info. Not sure if that points to a mistake on Adobe's part, of if it is "hidden" for some other reason? We will probably never know.
Why it was removed from later versions is just the way it happens. Adobe will add Additional Functional Content, from time to time, and will remove some, that they deem to no longer be useful. Though smallish files, they DO take up HDD space, and as most Additional Functional Content is now on Adobe hosted servers, I feel that someone decided that that particular Title was no longer popular enough to include.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Way to import custom dictionary from word?

I have an extensive custom dictionary that I would like to import into pages. Any suggestions.

Pages will save a custom spelling dictionary in Users > your name > Library > Spelling . If the Spelling folder doesn't exist Pages will create one when you Learn a word. You can open this custom file in TextEdit. You can add word to the list. I believe the list have to be alphabetical sorted.
I don't know how the corresponding Word Spelling document looks like. It might have extra data that needs to be deleted first.
On Leopard there was a small free app one could use for editing the Spelling document. I don't remember the name of it. It is bound to be in these discussions but maybe some 2 years ago.

  • Migrating to Designer 6i from earlier version

    Hi,
I'm attempting to migrate our old repository to that of Des6i. I have gone through the steps to set up a new repository, and am now at the crucial point where I run the 6i Repository Admin Utility and hit "Migrate A Repository". I entered the username/password for our old repository, and I get the error:
"A Designer/2000 Repository has been detected. However its version is not compatible with the Migration Process.
Migration is supported for Designer/2000 Repositories at version:
Oracle Designer/2000 Repository (TM): Release 7.0.4.0.0 Production
The Designer/2000 Repository you have nominated is at version:
Oracle Designer/2000 Repository (TM): Release 6.0.9.0.0 Production"
However, as far as I'm aware (based on the Installation Guide that was installed with Des6i), it SHOULD work - in the "Migrate data from an existing repository into a new one" section, it reads:
"To use a repository from a release of Oracle Designer earlier than 6i, you must migrate the data in it from a live Release 2.1.2 or Release 6.0 repository...into a Release 6i repository that you have already created."
Is this not correct? Or am I being tripped up in the wacky world of Oracle version numbering?
    Any advice appreciated.
