Migrating Designer 2.1.2 to 9.2.0.9, access rights problem

Hi,
I am trying to migrate Designer from 2.1.2 to 9.2.0.9 and got some problems in access rights. We have about 30 sub-ordinate users and over 30 different applications in our Repository.
In Designer 2.1.2, if a user shared a table from an application to another user's application, that user was not allowed to change any properties of the original table. In Designer 9.2.0.9 it seems that you can change the properties in the property palette, but if you try to save the changes, you then get an error message.
Can somebody tell me if this is really an error or just a feature of Designer 9i?
Liisa

Just for the record. I found the solution to my problem. Checking more logs I read this:
The installation has encountered a unrecoverable internal error. For further assistance report the following information to your support provider.
"/usr/local/cm/script/cm-dbl-ontape_backup-install RU PostInstall 9.1.2.11900-12 7.1.5.30000-1 /usr/local/cm/ /common/component/database /common/log/install/capture.txt " terminated. Exceeded max time (240)
The system will now halt.
So I accessed the Dissaster Recovery Section on CUCM and deleted the tape backup device that was configured there. After deleting it the upgrade went well.

    Thank you.

    Hi,
You are right, if the ms-design-css-conversion set to “no” which means there is no need to do the conversion for the tag.
    Example:
    <link href="/Documents/Styles/Default.css" type="text/css" rel="stylesheet" ms-design-css-conversion="no" />

  • Public folder migration 2010 to 2013 insufficient access rights

    Hi,
    I'm having a frustrating time with trying to migrate public folders. I've migrated all the mailboxes with no problems but when trying to migrate public folders with the same account it fails with this message;
Active directory response: 00002098: SecErr: DSID-03150BB9, problem 4003
    (INSUFF_ACCESS_RIGHTS), data 0
--> The user has insufficient access rights.
The account is in the organisation management and recipient management group.
I've tried ticking the inherit permission box in AD security.
I've tried creating a brand new account with the same permissions.
Nothing works. I'm tempted just to export to pst and import it to the public folder mailbox.
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi Nick,
ensure that the new admin account has the allow inheritance permission included
Also ensure that the account has full rights to all the public folders in Ex2010
Go to the application log and there would be an event triggered for the same with some description. YOu can find  that it might be failing permission on a particular public folder if so grant them access.
And also check if the permission failed public folder is mail enabled. If so please disable the mail enable on that PF cancel the migration request and start a new migration request with the below cmd
New-publicfoldermigrationrequest -sourcedatabase (Get-publicfolderdatabase -server servername -csvdata (get-content c:\contents.csv -encoding byte) -BadItemLimit 5000 -AcceptLargeDataLoss

  • How to migrate the userwise organization access rights info from 11i to R12

    Dear All,
Is there a way to migrate the user-wise organization access rights information from 11i to R12 ? Does this falls under DBA purview ?

I assume you are talking about Organization Access (in Inventory). As far as I know, there is no api for this. You can consider using a key-mapping software such as Data loader / winparrot.
    OR
you can write your own script to insert records into the org_access table. It should be a straight forward insert. You just need to ensure that the combination of organization_id, responsibility_id and resp_application_id is valid.
    Hope this helps

  • Migration Designer 6 to Designer 6i

We have 20 applications that have made withe Designer 6 and we want to migrate those applications to Designer 6i.
I want to know, what to consider during the migration
    Thanks

This sounds like you dont have enough space to do the migration and Oracle cannot extend a data file. Make sure you have autoextend on in the target database (I'm guessing it's the target).

  • Migrating Designer Repository 6i to Repository 10g

My client has an Oracle Designer repository 6i Version 6.5.92.1.9 Release 4.7.(Repository 9i).
He has created an Oracle Designer repository 10g (latest version) onto another server.
He wants to migrate his Repository 6i into his new repository 10g.
Is it possible to do this, if not could you tell me more.
    Thanks

He ought to be able to use the Export in the Repository Administration Utility (RAU) in 6i to export the repository and Import in the RAU in 10g to import it. Two caveats:
    1. Don't try to go from a versioned repository to a non-versioned one. I think the other way around works, but I don't have mine versioned, so I don't know for sure.
    2. Make absolutely sure that you are using the right EXP for the database version in which the 6i repository is stored and the right IMP for the database version in which the 10g repository is stored. Check the EXECUTE_EXP and EXECUTE_IMP registry settings on each. I've seen a lot of problems that could be avoided by using the right export and import.

  • Migrating Designer 1.3.2 from Oracle7 to Oracle 8.1.7

    Hello,
Has anyone some experience with migration of a Designer 1.3.2-repository in Oracle7 to an Oracle8i-database (8.1.7)?
This will probably not be certified, but does it work anyway?
    Thanks,
    Roger Mourmans

Thank you for your reply, Headstart Team, but unfortunately this wasn't really what I was looking for.
I've read various migration guides (Designer, Headstart) but what I'm really looking for are real numbers and facts like:
    * what was the amount of time that the migration took at a particular company for a
    particular application (how many forms/reports) ?;
    * Was the migration a (relatively) smooth operation ?;
    * Were there any particular hick-ups ?
I hope someone can supply me with these...

  • SSDM 3.1 PROD - Migrate design from version 691 to 700

    Hello SSDM Team,
We have about 150 ssdm/svn designs and we need migrate the tool from version 691 to version 700.
I noticed that the tool doesnt let to save a connected design to svn on top of the design in the workarea and after commit it directly to the svn repository.
We need to execute a lot of steps to migrate each design. First we have to "save as" the design outside the workarea, exclude the design in the svn repository, exclude the design in the workarea, copy the design saved in other folder into the workarea, and finally import the design to the svn repository.
Imagine do it for 150 designs, managing the users and their designs and so on......
I'd like to know if there's a easier and maybe an automatic way to do this job.
    Regards
    Nelson Alberti da Rosa

    Hello Nelson,
Data Modeler 3.1.1 is published and you can upgrade in place versioned designs created with DM 3.0.0.665 or DM 3.1.0.691 - i.e. you can do Save for such designs.

  • Migration Designer 6i to 10g /New Headstart version?

There is very limited information on the OTN for Headstart at least that I could find.
I had a few questions and any help would be very much appreciated.
We are planning to migrate from
    -Designer 6i
    -Headstart 6.5.1
    -Forms 6i (client/server)
-database: Oracle9i Enterprise Edition Release 9.2.0.5.0
    to
    Developer suite 10g (10.1.2.0.2 ) 10gR2
    -database: Oracle 10g
Is there a new version of Headstart available and certified for Designer 10g? If so what exact versions of database/forms/application server is it certified for?
Is there technical documentation available online that I can download?
    Thanks in advance !

There is a newer version of Headstart available, that version (6.5.4.0.1) is also certified for Oracle Developer Suite 10gR2. I can't tell you if it is the latest version.

This sounds like you dont have enough space to do the migration and Oracle cannot extend a data file. Make sure you have autoextend on in the target database (I'm guessing it's the target).

  • Migrated new MBPro = slow . Best way to start again without same problem

    Hi
I bought a Macbook Pro and on bootup I put my old powerbook with all my data into firewire mode and just migrated things across.
I have been very disappointed with the MBPro speed and have tried to clean it up a bit as I am assuming that Migrating things across has caused this slowness.
I am wanting to do a fresh install but need to get the critical things across
these include my Photo Library in iPhoto and My emails and my iTunes library and my address book. and bookmarks.
I will start from scratch with all the extra applications I have
So when I reinstall what is the best way to achieve this ?
I dont have .Mac accounts but I do have an external firewire hard drive.
To explain where the system is slow it is mainly on boot up and loading for the first time. I checked what was running and everything loaded is a UB so PPC stuff using Rossetta. The spec on the MBPro is standard with the 160gb drive. The powerbook is a 1.5ghz with and upgraded 7200 rpm drive. So I also assume that the PBook drive is a fraction faster but as everything else is way faster in the MBPro I would of though that this would still make the MBPro at least as fast to boot and load things.
It is not alot slower just a fraction but it is noticable. Once loaded the system seems fine and any cpu intensive stuff is way way faster
    Thanks

slow startup could be a sign of directory damage, as normal part of the boot process is doing a directory check. booting up on the intel should be much faster, not the other way around. have you tried booting to the install disk and running disk repair?? http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214 that may be all that is needed to get the boot faster. as well, do you have anything hooked up to the mbpro during startup?? that could also be a factor. as well, if you have not done firmware updates for the mbpro, you should do that as well. this article http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303880 gives up-to-date firmware versions and how to locate them on your mac. from what i gather there are limits in sharing one fw drive between a power pc and intel mac. see this thread. http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=2950422&#2950422 here is the macosx hints discussion on creating a volume bootable by both types of computers. http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20060322054212363&query=firewire%2B drive%2Bintel however, you would have to have the space available on the drive, and the inclination to put two different versions (one power pc, one intel!) of the os on one drive, so both volumes are bootable, one with each computer.

  • Migration From SQL Server 2005 to Oracle DB through Oracle SQ Dev Problem

    Hi all,
we are trying to do a full Migration from MS SQL Server 2005 to Oracle DB 9.2 i
we are using Oracle SQL Developer V 1.5.3,
the capturing of the DB and the conversion to the oracle model completed succefully
however when we try to generate the scripts from the converted model
the script generation hangs on a sequence and no further progress is made (the script generation pop up keeps still on a certain sequence displaying its name, and thats it )
    no error messages are displayed,
how can we know the reason for this? or atleast find a log for whats happening...
    any suggestions?
    Thank you

    Hi,
migrating a sequence shouldn't make a problem. I did a quick test. I created this table in SQL Server:
    create table test_seq (col1 int identity(1,1),col2 char(1))
Then I captured the table, converted the table and generated the script. There was no problem.
    CREATE SEQUENCE succeeded.
    CREATE TABLE succeeded.
    Connected
    TRIGGER test_seq_col1_TRG Compiled.
As you see, applying the script was also successful.
I am using Oracle RDBMS 11g, I don't know whether this makes a difference. Do you have any 11g instance available to test it?
Can you show me one of the sequences that are causing the hang? Is the CREATE SEQUENCE statement already in the generated script, or not? Your table is for sure more complex than my simple example.

    Wolfgang
