Migrating from a single shared id to family sharing

We have been an iOS family for many years and we have always used my personal apple id for app store purchases, the same id I use for iCloud, which means my wife and kids all have access to my apple id information.  It's not a crisis but as the kids get older and start to do more things on their own it's time to start to separate our accounts.  Each member of my family has their own apple id which they use for backups, etc.
If I move to Family Sharing what happens to the apps that everyone currently has on their apple devices that are associated with my account?  Will they disappear?  Will this work?  Is it seamless?

Can you keep them? Yes   If there is a problem with them you can delete them and download them as part of the Family Share

  • Migrating from 2010 (single) to 2013 HA

    Hello All;
I'm doing my long research into my new project and found a lot of helpful links but thought i'd reach out to the forum and see if anyone has any inside links, steps, details I can review.
    We currently are running
Exchange 2010 SP3 (All roles on single server)
    Windows Server 2008R2 Enterprise
    Virtual Machine (VMware 5.5 ESXi)
    I'm planning on migrating to
    Exchange 2013 (two instances)
    High Availability
    Windows Server 2012 R2 Enterprise
So migrating from 1 single exchange 2010 server to multiple Exchange 2013 mailbox servers.  The goal is if 1 physical goes down for maintenance of anything else that can happen in this crazy world, the other separate server would still pass mail through
the environment which I believe is separating the DAGs.
I'm sure I've missed a lot here. Please Help because afterwards I have to upgrade from Lync 2010 to Lync 2013.

thank you all for the helpful info & awesome links for reading.
but i'm still a little lost in the HA capability of exchange 2013. We have two physical servers (built Raid 5 in the array for each - both having 2 arrays.)  How do we implement HA in this configuration if 1 server goes down ? Would that be separate
    DAGs with a 3rd front end ?
    example:
    Current
    Server 1
    Exchange 2010
    4 Databases
    --- Migrate/Upgrade to
    Future
    Server 2                              Server3
    Exchange 2013                     Exchange 2013
    4 Databases  <------------>   4 Databases
so if Server 2 disappeared, Server 3 could keep running transporting all mail. I'm assuming i'm missing the front end part of exchange 2013 that would pass the mail along to server 2 and server 3.
I apoligize if this is noobish question; I've never implemented anything HA for exchange. We've always run all roles on a single instance.

  • Exchange 2013 Migration from 2010 Test (Shared split DNS)

    Hi
Im testing a migration from Exchange 2010 to 2013. I have tried to run a single DNS name to both servers, so externally mail.test.com resolves to the external IP and that NAT's to the new Exchange 2013. Then internally mail.test.com resolves both to EXC13
and EXC10 ip adresses (Round Robin).
I have moved some mailboxes to 2013. If the IP resolves to the new Exchange and i try to login to a mailbox on the old server i get redirected as im supposed to. If the IP resolves to the old Exchange and i try to login with a mailbox on the new server i
    get:
A server configuration change is temporarily preventing access to your account. Please close all Web browser windows and try again in a few minutes. If the problem continues, contact your helpdesk.
Should this be possible, or do i need to change the intarnal URL on all virtual directories on the old server to the local netbios name or what to do?

You should never use the server name in any of the URLs.  You should use either a CNAME or a load-balanced VIP with a generic name like mail.company.com or webmail.company.com.  Then you just point this name to the new server.  If
you're currently using a server name, it's about time to change that first before trying to switch to Exchange 2013.
Curently im using a generic name, mail.test.com. But that's just a normal A record on the internal DNS. So i cannot use that on both?

  • Migrating from share Apple ID's to Family Sharing

My wife and I share an Apple ID of CB. I want to migrate to family sharing with different Apple ID's for each of us.  I've enabled family sharing and I'm the master.  I want to give my wife a new Apple ID of PB, have her join family sharing, but preserve her contacts/photos/etc on her iphone. She is running IOS8. What steps do I follow? Note: I have successfully added my daughter to family sharing --but she had a brand new iPod touch and a brand new Apple ID.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
I believe 4 people can use the same computer, they just need to use different user accounts.

  • Upgrade from a single license to a family pack...?

Is it possible to upgrade a single user license for iWork 09 to a family pack? Sorry for posting here, there is no forum under iWork it seems. Thanks for any help.

    Mac Daddy 08 wrote:
I think the point of his question is, He wants to remove single user copy from his Mac, install family copy to all of his Mac's, and then possibly resale his single user copy.
I also would like to possibly do the same thing. When I upgraded to iLife '09, I only owned 1 Macbook, now I own 2 Macbooks and I would like to upgrade to family license. When I upgrade can't I resale my single user copy?
Check your licence agreement. If it doesn't prohibit transferring the (single user) licence, then it would seem reasonable to assume you can do so. Being neither a lawyer nor an Apple representative, my advice remains the same as before: This might be a question best answered at an Apple Store or another authorized reseller.

  • How to create playlists on all devices from a single shared iTunes music library?

i have an iMac.  my kids each have their own iMac.  my wife has a PC.  all three of their devices can "see" my shared iTunes library on their computer.  all three of those devices can play my shared iTunes library on their computer.  BUT, those other three devices cannot use the songs in my iTunes library to create their own playlists and they also can't drag playlists on my computer into their playlists.
we all share one iTunes account, so i want them to be able to do more than simply play the songs from my iTunes library on their computers;  i want them to be able to put their purchases on their iPhones, iPods, etc.
    help appreciated in advance.

    Thanks for your time Mona.
Without modifying the Table Interface I solved my problem.
Earlier I mentioned that the exceptions were not highlighting when created in BEx. the reason is I gave negative %  range -10 to -1000.
But when I changed that range as -1000 to -10, It worked fine. I created the same exceptions for all the 7 queries in BEx. So all those execeptions are automatically highlighted the result in Portal.

  • Migrate from File Server Shared Drives to Document Libraries, while Keeping Modified and Created Date

I am doing some file migration for a client, using SharePoint 2013 on prem.
Whether copying files from a local or network drive, to a Document Library, or from Document Library to other Document Library, I want the option of
preserving file dates and created/modified by fields.
I am developing a pretty cool tool in Excel to analyze files and directory names for restricted characters, large file sizes, and long path names...and then
it generates copy commands or rename commands as desired. I will share this with you if you like. This little glitch is the last remaining barrier.
Can we copy and retain Modified/Created Data and time? Can I do this using xcopy or robocopy or do I need to use powershell, ShareGate, or some other tool?
I have tried Windows Explorer drag-n-drop, "robocopy /COPY:DAT" and "xcopy /k"
and these seem to work great in th CMD window until you display the resulting files in SharePoint...and the modified date shows as now and modified by
    shows as me.
Any suggestions you can provide are most welcome.

  • Migrate from single server to multiserver path?

I'm looking to move from a single Exchange 2013server to multi server for HA, i.e. multiple database servers and client access servers. What the best way to migrate? I would like to keep the existing single server as a client access server. I'll
be using a hardware load balancer for the client access servers.  Existing 2013 Exchange server has Windows 2012 Datacenter installed.
Can just make a new database sever and create a DAG then create a new client access server then configure the load balancer?
Thanks for any input on how to migrate from a single server to multiple server for additional HA.

Is there any benefit to using Server 2012 R2 vs Server 2012 R1? The single server is currently Server 2012 R1.  Can I do an in place upgrade from 2012 R1 to R2 without messing up Exchange?
    Here's my thoughts so far:
    1. Make 3 additional 2012 R1 servers
    2. On 2 of the servers install additional Exchange servers with mailbox database roles (it appears each new mailbox server comes with a database which I'll delete).
    3. On the last new server, install CAS role
    4. Create DAG with all 3 servers with database role
    5. Add production database copies to DAG
    6. Configure load balancer for CAS load balancing
Thoughts?  Is the production database on the single server available while a copy is being made to the new mailbox database servers? Also, I thought I read some where to move mailboxes to DAG, but I don't see why if I can just add copies of the existing
    database to the DAG group.

  • Faster way to migrate from Single byte to Multi byte

    Hello,
We are in the process of migrating from a 9i Single byte db to a 10g Multi byte db. The size of our DB is roughly 125 GB. We have fixed everything in the source database (9i) in terms of seamlessly migrating from a single byte to a multi byte db. The only issue is the migration window - curently we are doing an export/import since there is a character set migration involved and it's taking about 20+ hrs to do the import in 10g. The management wants to cut this down to less than 10 hours, if that's possible. I know the duration it takes to import depends on many factors like the system/OS configuration, SAN, etc but I wanted to know what , in theory, is considered the fastest method of migrating a database from single byte to multi byte.
Have anybody here gone through this before?
    Thanks,
    Shaji

If the percentage of user tables containing some convertible data (I am assuming you will not have any truncation or lossy data) is low, you can export only those tables, truncate them, and rescan the database. This should report no convertible data, except some CLOBs in Data Dictionary. Such database can be migrated to AL32UTF8 using csalter.plb. After the migration, you import only the previously exported subset of tables.
Note, for this process to work, no convertible VARCHAR2, nor CHAR, nor LONG data can be present in the Data Dictionary.
The process should be refined by dropping and recreating indexes on the exported tables as recreating an index is faster then updating it during import. You should also disable triggers so that they do not interfere with the migration (for example, they should not update any "last_updated" timestamp columns).
If the number and size of affected tables is low compared to the overall size of the database, the time saved may be significant.
There may also be tables that require even more sophisticated approach. Let's say you have a multi-gigabyte table that stores pictures or documents in a BLOB column. The table also has a single text column that keeps some non-ASCII descriptions of the stored entities. Exporting/truncating/importing such table may be still very expensive. A possible optimization is to offload the description column to an auxiliary table (together with ROWIDs), update the original column to NULL, export the auxiliary table, drop it, rescan the database, migrate with csalter.plb, re-import the auxiliary table, and restore the original column. If pictures alone occupy, for example, 30% of the whole database, such approach should yield significant time saving.

  • Shared Mailbox migrating from Lotus Notes to Exchange

We currently have Lotus Notes and in the process of migrating to Exchange Server 2010. We are using the Quest Notes Migrator for Exchange and the Quest Coexistence Manager for Notes tools.
One of the issues we’re coming across is Shared Mailboxes..
    Currently in Notes we have:
Signatures as part of the NSF file so they are included with every email – how will Outlook clients behave for Shared Mailboxes? Because we want the same Signature to be part of every email sent from a shared mailbox regardless of which user sent the email.
We are aware that if we use OWA we won’t have this problem, but how do we configure Signatures for Shared Mailboxes using Outlook clients?
Stationary: We have Stationery linked to our Shared Mailbox accounts, so for example, in our helpdesk mailbox, we have stationary documents/templates we send to end users who email our helpdesk asking a FAQ. Opposed to pointing users to SharePoint, how
do we tackle this in Outlook? Is there options?
    Thanks
    Ray

    Hi,
    1. you can use transport rule to have same signature when from field contains shared mailbox email address.
    2. Sorry, I don't understand your second question.

  • Migrate from Server 2003 (no Exchange, single server) to SBS 2011

Are there any Technets or other Microsoft documentation on migrating from Server 2003 (no Exchange, single server) to SBS 2011?  I understand it is possible, but I would like confirmation and some documentation before purchasing the appropriate hardware

    Hi Doug,
In general, the migration is the similar with migrating process from SBS 2003. In addition, also have main
    difference.
“The main difference is that you don’t have to remove the source and that you have to follow the migration
instructions as the SBS migration wizard will not launch.”
You can get above description from following similar thread. Please refer to.

I'm trying to import a cd to my mac air from my pc.  downloadedAbout the Migration and DVD/CD Sharing Update. The mac recognized the pc and the cd , but fails to play or import it. i get the message the cd could not be found. Suggestions?

You can't share/play a music CD using Remote Disk. It's a limitation that Apple built in.
"MacBook Air and Mac mini do not support playing DVD movies or audio CD media with Remote Disc."
Remote Disk is limited to data transfers.
You will have to use the MBA external superdrive, or another compatible external DVD device hooked directly to the Macbook Air.
Otherwise, you will need to rip the CD's contents using your PC and transfer the music as data files.

  • Migrating from single processor to dual processor Callmanager

    Hi Networkers,
had anyone install a Callmanager 4.1 dual processor version of CM4.1-K9-X345D= before in a single CPU in a dual processor capable server before.
Can it work in the first place?
Had anyone successfully migrate it to a dual-processor later on?

I dont think there is any difference in Callmanager software for a dual processor versus single processor server. For 7845 (dual processor) the hardware detection disks may be different from the one for single processor (7825, 7835)
Migrating from one to another is as easy as taking a BARS backup from one server, build the other server to the same version and restore it. (Make sure server name and ip are the same for both servers)

-restore this database into 11g ASM if its not already on ASM.
-upgrade this database to 11g from 10g on single instance.
