Migrating from Extensis to AP 3 - key word challenge

I bought AP 3.x and am migrating all of my photos from Extensis Portfolio. I am using the "referenced file" approach. I want AP to see all of the key words I added while my photos were managed by Extensis. To do this, I embedded my key words into the photo files within Extensis. Then I simply open up AP to see the difference. The problem is that AP seems to just process my updated photos in chunks or batches (300 or so files). When I minimize AP, then return to it, it processes another batch. This seems more manual than it should. Is there a setting I can make within AP so it processes all the files in one session?

Sounds like Aperture is still Processing the install. Allan

  • Problem with foreign and primary keys migration from SQL Server to Oracle

Hi folks, i'm using SQL Developer to migrate from a SQL Server database to Oracle and i'm stuck with a couple issues:
The worst of them so far is the fact that i can't migrate any of the PKs and FKs. After successfully capturing the SQL Server DB model and converting it to Oracle, when the tool generates the scripts, all ALTER TABLE queries that add the PKs and FKs have their target columns duplicated.
for example: when i'm trying to migrate a simple table that contains an Id (PK) and Name columns, the tool generates the following scripts:
    PROMPT Creating Table TestTable...
    CREATE TABLE TestTable (
    Id NUMBER(10,0) NOT NULL,
    Name VARCHAR2 NOT NULL
PROMPT Creating Primary Key Constraint PK_TestTable on table TestTable ...
    ALTER TABLE TestTable
    ADD CONSTRAINT PK_TestTable PRIMARY KEY
    Id,
    Id
    ENABLE
As for the FKs, the tool duplicates the columns as well:
    ALTER TABLE SomeTable
    ADD CONSTRAINT FK_SomeTable_SomeTable2 FOREIGN KEY
    SomeTable2Id,
    SomeTable2Id
    REFERENCES SomeTable2
    Id,
    Id
    ENABLE
Does anyone have a clue on how to solve these issues? I'd be greatly thankful for any answers!

    Hi Fernando,
I was unable to replicate this issue. My primary / foreign keys where defined using unique columns.
PROMPT Creating Primary Key Constraint PK_Suppliers on table Suppliers ...
    ALTER TABLE Suppliers
    ADD CONSTRAINT PK_Suppliers PRIMARY KEY
    SupplierID
    ENABLE
I tried a few things like
capturing twice and renaming both models the same
    renaming the converted models
    but with no luck.
I think this issue is occuring either at the capture or convert phase.
    1) Are you performing the capture online or offline?
    2) Can you provide a the entire DDL for one of these tables and its indexes to see if I can replicate?
    3) Did the capture or convert fail or have to be redone at any stage ?
I all else fails I would attempt a capture and convert again using a brand new repository (create a new schema in Oracle and associate the migration repository with it).

How to translate the key words in ABAp program from lower case to upper case?

    Hi Kittu,
You need to set the Pretty Printer settings to achieve key words in ABAP program from lower case to upper case.
Utilities -> Settings -> Pretty Printer (tab) -> Select third radio button.
    Thats all.

  • Is it possible to add and view your key words when creating a web site from Lightroom 4?

Is it possible to add and view your key words when creating a web site from Lightroom 4?

    Hi,
I had the same problem with
    "java.lang.NullPointerException at com.sap.tc.webdynpro.clientimpl.html.uielib.standard.uradapter.ViewContainerUIElementAdapter.getContent(ViewContainerUIElementAdapter.java:98)"
when I included ViewUsages dynamically in an action handler (outside wdDoInit()).
The code below fixed that problem.
This code creates a new OutboundPlug for the embedding view with the embedded view as target and fires the plug.
    <i>// Create OutboundPlug
    IWDOutboundPlugInfo outboundPlug = embedderViewInfo.createOutboundPlug();
    //Create navigation link
    rootViewUsage.createNavigationTarget(outboundPlug.getName(), interfaceViewUsage, "Default");
    // fire navigation link
    wdThis.wdGetAPI().firePlug(outboundPlug, Collections.EMPTY_MAP);
    </i>
I hope I could help you. Probably you don't need the information anymore, but perhaps anybody else has the same problem.

  • Importing key words and ratings from iphoto

I have a bunch of folders from the last 5 years on an external Hard drive with ratings and key words from iphoto...I now want to consolidate them all into iphoto 6 because it claims it can handle 250,000 photos...so the problem is when I import them the key words and ratings dont come with it, which for thousands of photos is a nightmare..any solutions..
    thanks'
    jim

    James:
What form are the files in? Are they just jpg files that you exported out of iPhoto to save as jpg files? Did you use the Share->Burn menu option that creates a CD with a mini library on it that can be viewed and imported back into iPhoto?
Since they are in folders on the external HD and not in another library, they will not have keywords embedded in them. iPhoto does not embed keywords or any other metadata in the files. It keeps the keywords, ratings, etc. in database files for use within the library only.
I'm afraid you're out of luck on that.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Problem while migrating the extensions from one instance to the other.

    Hi,
We are using kintana workbench to migrate the objects from one instance to the other. But after migrating From Instance1 to Intance2 it ws fine. Working properly in Instance2. But when the same package is migrated to Instance3, all are migrated successfully and log files are showing proerly. But when i access the pages in Instance3, I am getting the errors on the page above like this:
ViewObject attribute is null; ViewUsageName: (ScorecardSummaryVO1); RegionItem: (LastUpdateLogin)
Can some let me know what could be the problem.
    Thanks.

    user555006,
Error shows that LastUpdateLogin item on the page has no proper VO attribute attached. Hence it seems that the MDS data is not updated properly. Upload the page again and test.

  • Missing Primary Key migration from mssql2000 to Oracle10

I've been working with sql developer + migration workbench ver 1.1. There were some problems with it, but PK where created. sqldeveloper ver 1.2 migration from sql works quicker, but it misses PK creation.

This seems to affect migrations from MS Access as well, so I guess it applies to all source db types. If it helps, PK's are created with SD 1.2.0 / 28.54, but not with 1.2.0 / 29.98.
As a related point it would be useful to show the constraint metadata in the captured and converted model info, rather than only see it as part of the gen script ?
    Cheers

  • How do a migrate from a Wallstreet?

I'd love to join the ranks of those delighted with their migration to a new OSX machine. In my case, it is proving a little more complex. My old PowerBook G3 Pismo (circa 1999) died suddenly (possibly from the loss of a heat-sensitive fuse, I'm told), giving me the excuse to replace it at last with a very fast, not-quite-state-of-the-art PowerBook G4 (circa 2005).
In order to rescue my beloved files, apps, and settings, I needed to reincarnate the 2.5" internal drive - a Travelstar 2.5" in some device that would switch on. The first thing I tried was a proprietary, USB "enclosure" from Maplins. They didn't have firewire enclosures, but a USB one claimed to be OSX compatible. Big mistake. This just sat and clicked at a fast, regular, 3 clicks per second - which bofs told me was a sure sign of "mechanical failure" (I knew they were wrong - but could not prove it, and was nearly talked into paying £75 for diagnosis plus a further £500 for "recovery" of my "data" - which sounded like extortion to me).
Then I succeeded in plumbing it into an even older PowerBook Wallstreet (circa 1997) of my brother's. This was a straightforward operation requiring the removal of the keyboard, the heat-sink, and five screws (three phillips, two star-key - just fiddly enough to please geeks and deter richer "consumers" from attempting it at home). It powered up at once, like a dream - but only on the OS9 partition, since OSX is not retroactively compatible with the Wallstreet PowerBook. Unfortunately, this Wallstreet G3 was too ancient even to have it's own USB ports, let alone FireWire. Someone HAD installed a sort of PC card dongle that enabled both, so long as you booted up OS9 with two proprietary extensions. But there was simply not a hope in **** of getting this prehistoric notebook to emulate a firewire drive in order to perform the simple migration that most mac users rave about.
Undeterred, I connected the two machines via Ethernet. Here I encountered another problem: my classic OS9 could log on to my new G4 - but my new G4 refused to connect to it, claiming it used "an incompatible version of the AFP protocol." Any way round this? What is AFP, anyway?
OK. No problem. I got the old Wallstreet effectively to "push" all of its files, over the Ethernet, onto my new machine, placing them into a folder called Eric's HD. This is a slow process. As I write, there are still 8 hours to go. Nevertheless, I will have a copy, of sorts, of my complete OSX and Classic systems on my new computer.
Now. Here's the question. How do I get my brand new OSX Tiger to "Migrate" these old files, apps and preferences, onto my new OS - since they reside neither on "another Mac" (in FireWire "Target Disk" mode), nor on "another volume on this Mac that has OSX installed." They now simply live in a little folder on my new internal hard drive.
I know I could order a FireWire enclosure from MacAlly (@£39) and hope it behaves better than the two USB2 enclosures I have already tried. But what if, after waiting three days for delivery, I still get those clicks and nothing else? I really had hoped to complete my migation this weekend....
Anyone know whether Migration will work from a folder on your Drive 0 - or have any other ideas? I imagine it would be be tedious and risky to copy over all my library files by hand....

You're right, KAppy. I have been spending WAY too much time on this. Had I an enclosure which worked, I would have migrated at the drop of a hat days ago. But I AM attempting to migrate from one OSX to another (Panther to Tiger - aren't they similar enough?), and I didn't want to lose my applications and settings.
Unfortunately, the only thing I could lay my hands on which would enclose my disk and actually drive it, was an intermediary Wallstreet (borrowed from my brother). This older computer wouldn't boot my OSX system - but would start up from the old Classic folder.
You're also right that my mistake was trying to copy the hard drive by drag-and-drop. I thought that files invisible to OSX would still be visible to OS9, but I've now found a load of invisible files and folders were not copied. Had my G4 been able to talk to the Wallstreet, then I could have migrated, or used Carbon Copy, or whatever. But whilst the G3 could talk to the G4, the G4 annoyingly complained that the Wallstreet's 'AFP protocol' was 'incompatible' - what does that mean, anyway? Could I have chosen a different protocol on the OS9? - and refused to connect.
Anyway, thanks for the patient advice. I'll order a FireWire enclosure, which won't arrive for a few days - but which will then, I trust, actually work with my Travelstar 40Gig (the proprietary USB2 enclosures I tried simply wouldn't).
Meanwhile, I've now got the G3 to mount the Big Backup Drive via a FireWire device. Do you think OS9's Disk Copy could create an image of my OSX partition - and that this would then be recognised by the Migration Assistant?

Re: Migrate from JDeveloper 11.1.1.3 to 11.1.2

  • Migration from Win/bootcamp to OSX Lion

I'm trying to migrate from a Windows installation running in BootCamp on an iMac (old) to a new iMac running Lion. NO - I'm not trying to migrate BootCamp -> BootCamp, but from Windows to OSX.
The old iMac is running WinXP SP3. The Migration Assistant runs just fine, trying to listen to incoming requests.
The Migration Assistant on the new iMac quickly finds the other machine and displays the key for linking them.  The MA on the Windows/BootCamp end never seem to get the request and just keeps on listening.
I've tried them on FireWire networking, on Ethernet to Ethernet and on the same WiFi network. Nothing works.
Is this a problem because the other "PC" is an iMac? The icon that comes up in the MA has the "wintel box" icon, not an iMac icon, as if it is detecting that it is a PC/Windows system.

Olivier: I think the question here is more of how do I take all my enhancements/configuration from IC WIN to IC webclient, and the answer is you have to do it manually.
Manie: I suggest you do a broad search on this forum as there are several threads on the "migration" topic.  You can even use the word migration as the search criteria in this forum.
In addition you might want to post a new more specific question on a particular conversion area, after searching of course.  This is due to the fact that all landscapes are unique and we dont' know what you did with your system and what it might require in order for your functionality in the IC winclient to be present in the IC webclient.
At this point I'm going to put my moderator hat and lock this thread as it is way too vague and the answers can be found in a search of the forum.
    Take care,
    Stephen

  • Where can I find information on migrating from Business Objects 5 to XI R2?

We want to migrate several Business Objects implementations - some of which are Business Objects 5 and some Business Objects 6 to consolidate them into a XI R2 environment.
I have the document that describes migration from 6.x to XI R2 but what is the process for migrating from Business Objects 5. Do I need to migrate from 5 to 6 and then follow the 6.x to XI R2 migration?
Any pointers to additional hints and tips on migration or how to estimate how much effort is involved would also be welcome.
Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi,
Following are the detailed steps for migration via Import Wizard:
1] Go to Start > Programs > Business Objects XI Release 2 > BusinessObjects Enterprise > Import Wizard.
2] The Welcome dialog box appears. Click Next.
    Setting source and destination environments:
3] In the Specify source environment dialog box, set the following:
u2022 Source: Business Objects Enterprise BO 6.5.x.
    u2022User Name:
    u2022 Password: visor
    BOMain key
Note: Do not check the Import Application Foundation contents option since you are not performing Performance Management migration at this time.
    Click Next.
4] The Warning page appears. Click Next.
Note: The source repository can store any file, not just supported agnostic documents. Since the BusinessObjects XI Release 2 architecture requires a plug-in for each file extension, it does not import unsupported files (for example, .zip files and as .svg documents used in corporate dashboards).
5] The Specify destination environment page appears. Set the:
u2022 Destination: Business Objects Enterprise BOXI R2
    u2022 User Name:
    u2022 Password:
u2022 Domain key file to: Default drive: \Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise XI R2
    Click Next.
6] Select the types of objects you want to import in this stage of the importing process. At a later stage, you select the objects themselves.
    u2022 Select the option u2018Import universes u2018.
    Click Next.
7] Import options for universes and connections dialog box appears.
Select the third option: Import all the universes and connections that the selected Web Intelligence and Desktop Intelligence documents use directly.
8] The Please choose a merge scenario dialog box appears. Select I want to merge the source system to destination system and check the automatically rename top-level folders that match top-level folder on the destination system option.
    Click Next.
9] The Incremental Import dialog box appears.
You may need to import some objects more than once from the source repository to the destination repository.
In this situation, you have the following update options:
    u2022 Overwrite object contents
You select the types of objects for which the content overwrite applies:
u2022 Documents (including dashboards and analytics)
    u2022 Universes
    u2022 Connections
When you re-import an object, it will completely overwrite and replace the matching object (and its associated files) that you imported earlier.
    u2022 Overwrite object rights
When you re-import an object, its associated security rights will overwrite the rights of the matching object you imported earlier.
If you decided not to import security in the Security Migration Options dialog box, then the Overwrite object rights option is not relevant, and is therefore not available.
If you don't select any overwrite options, the matching object in the destination repository will not change when you try to import it again.
Note: This dialog box appears only if you select update as the import scenario.
    Click Next.
    10] Select the specific universe
    Click Next
11] Information Collection complete dialog box appears.
    Click Finish
12] Import Progress dialog box appears.
    Click Done
    Hope this helps !!
Please revert in case of any queries.

  • Migration from os 10.2 to 10.8

I just purchased a new MacBook Air running os 10.8.2.  I want to migrate from an old iBook G4 running os 10.2.
I went to the Genius Bar at the local Apple store a few days ago and the guy told me to plug in my firewire backup external hard drive (with firewire to thunderbolt cable) to the new MacBook Air.  Boot the Air and hold down the "T" key.  But it will not migrate or even find the drive.  Yet when I boot to the finder the external hard drive shows up in the finder and I see everything on the backup drive.  Any thoughts or suggestions would be helpful.
All I really need is email transferred from Apple Mail so I don't have to reorganize my mail. I could just drag over my photos, music, documents and bookmarks.

A Basic Guide for Migrating to Intel-Macs
The Knowledgebase article Intel-based Mac: Some migrated applications may need to be updated refers to methods of dealing with migrating from PowerPC chips to Intel with the Migration Assistant safely. The authors of this tip have not had a chance to verify this works in all instances, or that it avoids the 10.6.1 and earlier Guest Account bug that caused account information to get deleted upon use of the Migration/Setup Assistant. However, a well backed up source that includes at least two backups of all the data that are not connected to your machine will help you avoid potential issues, should they arise. In event it does not work, follow the steps below.
If you are migrating a PowerPC system (G3, G4, or G5) to an Intel-Mac be careful what you migrate.  Keep in mind that some items that may get transferred will not work on Intel machines and may end up causing your computer's operating system to malfunction.
Rosetta supports "software that runs on the PowerPC G3, G4, or G5 processor that are built for Mac OS X". This excludes the items that are not universal binaries or simply will not work in Rosetta:
      1. Classic Environment, and subsequently any Mac OS 9 or earlier applications
      2. Screensavers written for the PowerPC System Preference add-ons
      3. All Unsanity Haxies Browser and other plug-ins
      4. Contextual Menu Items
      5. Applications which specifically require the PowerPC G5 Kernel extensions
      6. Java applications with JNI (PowerPC) libraries
See also What Can Be Translated by Rosetta.
In addition to the above you could also have problems with migrated cache files and/or cache files containing code that is incompatible.
If you migrate a user folder that contains any of these items, you may find that your Intel-Mac is malfunctioning. It would be wise to take care when migrating your systems from a PowerPC platform to an Intel-Mac platform to assure that you do not migrate these incompatible items.
If you have problems with applications not working, then completely uninstall said application and reinstall it from scratch. Take great care with Java applications and Java-based Peer-to-Peer applications. Many Java apps will not work on Intel-Macs as they are currently compiled. As of this time Limewire, Cabos, and Acquisition are available as universal binaries. Do not install browser plug-ins such as Flash or Shockwave from downloaded installers unless they are universal binaries. The version of OS X installed on your Intel-Mac comes with special compatible versions of Flash and Shockwave plug-ins for use with your browser.
The same problem will exist for any hardware drivers such as mouse software unless the drivers have been compiled as universal binaries. For third-party mice the current choices are USB Overdrive or SteerMouse. Contact the developer or manufacturer of your third-party mouse software to find out when a universal binary version will be available.
Also be careful with some backup utilities and third-party disk repair utilities. Disk Warrior, TechTool Pro , SuperDuper , and Drive Genius  work properly on Intel-Macs with Leopard.  The same caution may apply to the many "maintenance" utilities that have not yet been converted to universal binaries.  Leopard Cache Cleaner, Onyx, TinkerTool System, and Cocktail are now compatible with Leopard.
Before migrating or installing software on your Intel-Mac check MacFixit's Rosetta Compatibility Index.

      6. Transferring data with Setup Assistant - Migration Assistant FAQ
      7. OS X Lion: How to use Migration Assistant to transfer files from another Mac
Because Migration Assistant isn't the ideal way to migrate from PowerPC to Intel Macs, using Target Disk Mode, copying the critical contents to CD and DVD, an external hard drive, or networking will work better when moving from PowerPC to Intel Macs.  The initial section below discusses Target Disk Mode.  It is then followed by a section which discusses networking with Macs that lack Firewire.
If both computers support the use of Firewire then you can use the following instructions:
      1. Repair the hard drive and permissions using Disk Utility.
      2. Backup your data.  This is vitally important in case you make a mistake
          or there's some other problem.
      3. Connect a Firewire cable between your old Mac and your new Intel Mac.
      4. Startup your old Mac in Transferring files between two computers using FireWire.
      5. Startup your new Mac for the first time, go through the setup and
registration screens, but do NOT migrate data over. Get to your
desktop on the new Mac without migrating any new data over.
If you are not able to use a Firewire connection (for example you have a Late 2008 MacBook that only supports USB:)
    1. Set up a local home network: Creating a small Ethernet Network.
    2. If you have a MacBook Air or Late 2008 MacBook see the following:
      a. MacBook (13-inch, Aluminum, Late 2008) and MacBook Pro (15-inch,
          Late 2008) - What to do if migration is unsuccessful;
      b. MacBook Air - Migration Tips and Tricks;
      c. MacBook Air - Remote Disc, Migration, or Remote Install Mac OS X and
          wireless 802.11n networks.
Copy the following items from your old Mac to the new Mac:
In your /Home/ folder: Documents, Movies, Music, Pictures, and Sites folders.
    In your /Home/Library/ folder:
/Home/Library/Application Support/AddressBook (copy the whole folder) /Home/Library/Application Support/iCal (copy the whole folder)
Also in /Home/Library/Application Support (copy whatever else you need including folders for any third-party applications)
/Home/Library/Keychains (copy the whole folder) /Home/Library/Mail (copy the whole folder) /Home/Library/Preferences/ (copy the whole folder) /Home /Library/Calendars (copy the whole folder) /Home /Library/iTunes (copy the whole folder) /Home /Library/Safari (copy the whole folder)
    If you want cookies:
    /Home/Library/Cookies/Cookies.plist /Home/Library/Application Support/WebFoundation/HTTPCookies.plist
    For Entourage users:
Entourage is in /Home/Documents/Microsoft User Data Also in /Home/Library/Preferences/Microsoft.
Credit goes to Macjack for this information.
If you need to transfer data for other applications please ask the vendor or ask in the  Discussions where specific applications store their data.
    5. Once you have transferred what you need restart the new Mac and test to make sure the contents are there for each of the applications.
