Migrating from Linux Mail to Exchange 2013
Is there any official documents of the Best Practices of migrating Linux Mail (Exim) to Exchange 2013?
I appreciate any help that I can receive. Thanks in advance.
My best regards.
Hi,
Basic on my research, I’m afraid that there is no tool for this kind of migration, we may need to start from PST file.
We can use Microsoft Exchange PST Capture to search for PST files on computers in your organization and then import those files to mailboxes in your organization, for your reference:
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh781036(v=exchg.141).aspx
Besides, I find an similar thread about Migrate Exim to Exchange:
https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/0ff095c4-2334-4dd6-8d08-bbee1c98867e/migrating-from-linux-to-exchange-server-2010-question?forum=exchangesvradminlegacy
Thanks

Error when using super admin account to migrate from Communigate Pro to exchange 2013
Hi everyone,
We are facing issues to migrate mails from communigate pro to exchange 2013 using 'MigrateIMAP.pl' tool. Communigate pro has a super-admin account which can retrieve the mails from any mailbox but when sending to Exchange 2013, there is no such super-admin
account. I have created a user account granting it full access to all databases using the following:
Get-MailboxDatabase -identity “mailbox name” | Add-ADPermission -user <account name> -AccessRights GenericAll
Get-mailbox | Add-MailboxPermission -User <account name> -AccessRights FullAccess -InheritanceType All
The tool uses the following command: (x.x.x.x is for server IPs & mytestlist contains user accounts to be migrated)
./migrateIMAP.pl -d -I -U -s 100 -L mylog7 -e superadmin:password\<i -S x.x.x.x -f
exchangeadmin:password -D x.x.x.x -i mytestlist
The IMAP4 logs shows the following error:
2014-02-04T13:32:37.699Z,0000000000000579,1,x.x.x.x:143,x.x.x.x:47688,,1,65,34,authenticate,PLAIN cmJhbGxjaGFuZAByYmFsbGNoYW5kAEwwZ09uQDEyMw==,"R=""1 BAD Command Argument Error. 12"""
Anyone, please help me out, i've spent a whole week trying to solve this. Thanks in advanceI would suggest you go for third party tool.
One such tool is CodeTwo, it does the job and very cheap. It will get the job done is ziffy

Archiving migration from Symantec EV to Exchange 2013
Hi all,
We have a customer who has Exchange 2007 email system and Symantec EV 7 for archiving email. We need to migrate their email from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013 and activating Exchange 2013 archives. The customer asks to use this tool "Archive
2-Anywhere" from Archive360 to migrate archives from Symantec EV to Exchange 2013.
My question is I need to do this (migrating a user mailbox archive) in parallel with moving his mailbox to new exchange?Search the Internet for a phrase like "Migrate Enterprise Vault to Exchange 2013". You should get some hits for ideas for third-party solutions.

Migrating from Communigate Pro to Exchange 2013
Hi all,
My company is currently using Communigate Pro and 90% of users use web-based email, the rest use Outlook PST. We currently need to migrate all the users' mailboxes to Exchange 2013. I have already tried one tool namely Transend Migrator which does the job
but the licensing is really expensive. Anyone can please propose an alternative, preferably free one, how I can do this. Thanks in advance.

Migrate from Server 2003 (no Exchange, single server) to SBS 2011
Are there any Technets or other Microsoft documentation on migrating from Server 2003 (no Exchange, single server) to SBS 2011? I understand it is possible, but I would like confirmation and some documentation before purchasing the appropriate hardware
and licenses.
Thanks,
Doug
Doug OrrHi Doug,
In general, the migration is the similar with migrating process from SBS 2003. In addition, also have main
difference.
“The main difference is that you don’t have to remove the source and that you have to follow the migration
instructions as the SBS migration wizard will not launch.”
You can get above description from following similar thread. Please refer to.
Migrate from Windows Server Standard 2003 (not SBS) to SBS 2011

Meanwhile, please refer to the following article. It may be helpful.

However, as Robert suggests, would you please confirm specific version of SBS? It may help us to understand

Hope this helps.

After Migrating from Sharpoint 2010 to Sharepoint 2013 list filter options changed
Hi All,
After migrating from SP 2010 to SP2013 i found list View filter option is changed and filter is not working Pls help its really urgent.... you can check field 1 and field 2 in following screen shot.
Prasad kambarHi ,
According to your description, my understanding is that your list filter cannot work after Migrating from SharePoint 2010 to SharePoint 2013.
For your issue, please check your log files for any issues. Also you can refer to the blogs for troubleshooting SharePoint 2013 migration:
Firstly try running Test-SPContentDatabase on your source database for any issues -

Troubleshoot site collection upgrade issues in SharePoint 2013 http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj219648.aspx
Verify database upgrades in SharePoint 2013 -http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc424972.aspx
And please have a look at your custom solution on your site.

Linux mailserver to Exchange 2013 migration
Hi all
I have a specific question that I am hoping to get some advice on.
I have successfully installed Exchange 2013 and I am able to send email out from it.
We have a set-up whereby we have a webserver than the mx record for our domain points to, based on the incoming email (based on recipient address) it then will either forward on the mail to a linux mail server or the new Exchange server I have built.
Basically we have a problem whereby email sent from an Exchange mailbox to an internal user that does not have a mailbox is bouncing. I know why this is happening but not quite sure how to fix it. Basically I need a rule or send connector (this is what I
am not sure on) that will forward the internal email on to our linux mailserver if the mailbox is not located on the Exchange server I have built (there are reasons we will not be migrating all mailboxes so we need this functionality).
Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!Hi George,
Great information from Exchange Queries.

Converting from InMotion Hosting to Exchange 2013 Migration
Hello everyone,
We are looking to convert our current mail service being hosted on InMotion using POP3 to our Exchange 2013 server. Is there a migration guide somewhere I could find or something to lead me in the right direction? We want to forward the mail from InMotion
to the Exchange mailboxes as well. I know this involves converting MX records and the such but I feel like something is missing in the grand scheme of things.Hi,
The migration can include:
1. Account migration.
2. Database migration.
3. Some A and MX records need to be configured.
For more details, you can either consult Inmotion support or Microsoft support below:

Can anyone help? I'm at the end of my Googling! The answer has been found. In our case, we had to disable the Mailguard feature of the Cisco ASA between the CAS subnet and the MBX subnet. Essentially it was stripping AUTH commands from the SMTP handshake which meant the servers could not authenticate
to each other and establish a secured connection.
I guess for future reference, if you're getting a PRX4 error code you should look at any device that could be inspecting SMTP between your CAS and MBX servers.

Problem with Mavericks Mail and Exchange 2013
Hello,
I have just updated to Mavericks a few days ago. Now I have a strange problem.
The setup with Exchange 2013 works fine ... so I can send&receive mails.
The problem: I only get new mails. All (few thausand) mails stored on the Exchange account are not synced to mail?!
Maybe anyone has an idea how to solve this ...
Thanks,
MarcSome problems with Exchange mail have been solved by disabling Autodiscovery. If that doesn't work, see below.
Back up all data. Delete the Exchange account from the Internet Accounts preference pane and add it back. If there's still no improvement, continue.
Quit Mail. Force quit if necessary.
Back up all data. That means you know you can restore the Mail database, no matter what happens.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar. Paste into the box that opens (command-V), then press return.
A folder window will open. Inside it there should be files with names as follows:
Envelope Index
ExternalUpdates.storedata
Move those files to the Desktop, leaving the window open. Other files in the folder may have longer names that begin as above. Move those files, if any, to the Trash.
Log out and log back in. Relaunch Mail. It should prompt you to re-import your messages. You may get a warning that the index is damaged and that Mail has to quit. Click OK.
Test. If Mail now works as expected, you can delete the files you moved to the Desktop. Otherwise, post your results. -
Moving from SBS 2011 to Exchange 2013
Make sure you get a clean DCDIAG before you start any migration.
Hi fellow spiceworkers,
I am planning on migrating from SBS 2011 to 2012 r2/Exchange 2013 and having a separate 2012 R2 DC.
It has been mentioned and my understanding that it is important to raise the forest functional level (currently 2003) before installing Exchange 2013. My intention is to raise it to 2008.
Current configuration:
2011 SBS with FSMO ROLE and 2003 functional level.
2012 R2 DC.
3 x 2012 R2 DC's at various remote sites connected via VPN.
Should I move the FSMO role to the 2012 R2 DC first, wait to replicate, THEN raise the functional level or should I raise the functional level, wait for replication then move the FSMO role?
Also, would anyone have any other considerations I should take when doing this?
Thanks for any advice in advance.
Ralph

Migration from Captain Mail to Office 365
We are planning to migrate mailbox from Captain Mail (Linux based open source) to office 365 for 800 users. Currently customer have mailbox in local machine as PST. Customer wants to disable local clients and access mails through OWA only. Please
let me know any migration tools available to do the same.
Thanks in Advance. For migration tools, you could likely pull the mail from the server using a third party tool like "MigrationWiz". Alternatively, if you're looking to pull the mail from the user's PST, you could use the PST Capture tool (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=36789).
That tool is not multi-threaded though and I can't see doing that for 800 users.
To restrict users to OWA, you could disable MAPI, IMAP and POP3 on the mailbox:
