Migrating from older Flash Pro versions causes Auto Formatting to malfunction

I have recently upgraded my Flash CS4 to Flash CS5 on my MAC, and Flash CS5 to Flash CS5.5 on my PC, these upgrades are causing the Flash Auto Formatting feature to malfunction, it somehow becomes a tool that breaks my code and causes errors while exporting, instead of simply re-arranging the lines.
This is happening with all my codes and all my projects, not a specific line of code.
Anybody has a clue how to fix this? Is there some sort of an Adobe update for this?

Nope it is just badluck, i just answered this on another thread but google it im sure there is a way to fix this, i am sure of it.
but next time FINISH your projects before moving computers or flash versions because you might encounter this.
I have no problems with changing versions but changing computers OS is pretty understandable to cause errors.

Connecting to a TV is no different than connecting to any other external display. It's possible that there's a problem with the mini dvi port on the macbook r that you have bad adapters. Here are some options:
• You could copy the data file to your laptop, work on it, and update the file on the iMac when you are back.
• You can use an application like Log Me In to access your home computer from your laptop.
• You can use DropBox. Install it on both computers, place your data file in a folder on the iMac, access it and work on it on your laptop and it will be automatically updated on your computer at home, even if it is not turned on, as soon as it is connected to the internet.

Migration from old MacBook Pro to newer, lose iPhoto folders. Any cure?

In a recent migration using migration assistant from old MacBook Pro core 2 duo (10.6.8) to a newer quad core i7 (10.8.3), when I opened iPhoto for the first time and nothing happened. I then imported all my photos from the old iPhoto, and lost all folders I had. Now it seems I have to redo all folders. Any cure? I could do a clean install if there is a solution.

I just purchased today a refurbished Macbook Air from Apple. I need to have all of the software, program files, emails, and the ktichen migrated to it from my Macbook Pro. Will my local Apple Store do the migration for me if I take them the receipt for my Macbook Air?

I am certain they will, I am less certain they will do it for free.
I seem to recall their charge is $50 but this may have changed.

Take a look at the following sites. They provide guidance on the upgrade process. Please Note that without a third party product you will need to first upgrade to SharePoint 2010 and then from there to 2013. And yes, you will need to make
sure that all custom code migrations are installed on the new farm. The code may also need to be re-factored to work in 2013. Its mostly backwards compatible, but there is no guarantee.

I recently bought a new imac and migrated form my macbook pro. I'm running logic and when i opened one of my logic project files i've been working on, some files (mostly exs24 instrument files) would not load up with the project file...a message was displayed with each file that could not be "detected" with an option to "Continue" or "Search again"...if you "search again" nothing happens and if you "continue" the files ends up loaded up with the exs24 instrument on some tracks not reading the patch file? This also happened with some audio files which would not load with a logic project file? I really do not want to reinstall and risk losing anything more...please help

Migration Assistant seems not to work well for some with Logic. Probably the easiest way to sort this would be to re-install the content.
You could check Library:Application Support:Logic and Library:Application Support:GarageBand for the "missing" files to see if the really are there.
If they are, it may be a Spotlight issue, which can be fixed by 're-building' the Spotlight Index.

Power unit from older MacBook Pro - using it with newer model

I once had a MacBook Pro, one of the early version, bought somewhere in August 2006. Now I have the power unit that is left from it. I want to use it with my current MacBook Pro which is newer model, but not the one which is currently sold - it is NOT the unibody model, it looks exactly like the previous model, but with better spec, and the notable difference is that on the previous model the green diode near camera had a single hole, and the newer model has lots of tiny miniholes there, which makes it completely invisible unless the diode is lit.
(unfortunately I have no idea how to identify those two models more correctly - model numbers or whatever)
When I compare the power units - the one which I have with my current model, and the one which is left from the previous, the newer is a bit smaller, and the power output markings are a bit differently organised, not totally identical, but they show what I understand is same voltage/amperage.
I'm still a bit cautious about using the power unit from the older model. Did anyone tried it, is it safe?

Migrating from older macs to a new powerbook G4

I've got one of the new powerbooks ordered and on the way, and I'm very excited about it -- improved resolution, all that screen space, tons of RAM, 1.67 mghz -- YAHOO.
But I'm also dreading the moving part. Right now I've got a desktop G4 desktop imac and a G4 ibook as well. I'll be selling both of these, after everything has been transferred off of them onto the new machine.
Does anybody know of a to-do list for this kind of migration? Fonts, keychains, preferences, not to mention applications and documents... I'm worried I'm going to do something in the wrong order or forget something.
Any hints or links much appreciated.

All new Macs sold include the Migration Assistant, which can transfer over most of your data from an older Mac to a newer Mac. If the fonts aren't transferred over automatically, you can put either machine in FireWire Target Disk mode by holding down the T key at startup, and then drag them to the folder /Library/Fonts/ on the PowerBook's hard disk to migrate them.

I have Logic Studio 9.0 media set but need to install onto new Mountain Lion iMac. Migrating from older OS will allow free upgrade from App store but I don't want to migrate due to other issues. How can I install this?

We have a valid serial number and the original 9.0 media set. When I tried migrating the App Store updated it free of charge. However I don't know how to get Logic on without migrating as it point blank refuses when I insert the install disk.

Something is not quite right here:
I have the original Studio 2 disks here, and the installer runs fine under OSX.8.3. It will install Logic Pro 9.0.0, which can then be updated by downloading the 9.1.7 or 9.1.8 updater from Apple Downloads.
On your system, the installer refuses to run, or does the install proceed, but you are unable to update Logic so that it will work on Mountain Lion?

Iphone should sync as always.

New Macbook Pro transfer files from older Macbook Pro through WiFi--- BIG MISTAKE!! Two days of transferring!!

I just bought the new MacPro 2012, why does the transfer of my files from my old MacbookPro to the new MacbookPro taking so long? It is taking over 2 days over the WIFi!! It is ridiculous! Why did Apple give up firewire? Maybe this is a complaint. There should have been a warning on the possible length of time that it takes to transfer files. Most of us have photos, video and applications to transfer. There needs to be another way to transfer files. Am I missing something?? What if I needed to USE my laptop for work? it has been out of commission for 2 days, because of the transfer. Should I interrupt it? What should I do?

I would have stopped after two hours.
I can do a full drive clone in under 2 hours, migrate manually in about a half a hour using a external drive.

Yes, and there is obviously something wrong with one or the other machines.
I would hold the command r keys down and boot the new Mac into Recovery
Then use Disk Utility to erase the Macintosh HD partition
(use one step from the right if it's a hard drive and wait, it's better for it**),
Then reinstall 10.7 from Apple's servers (you need ID and password)
Install 10.7 compatible programs from fresh original sources (older PPC based ones from 10.5 and 10.6 won't run)

Then create other user accounts (if necessary) and then transfer files manually into the same named account's when logged into them.
You get a cleaner machine, because you find out what user files are corrupted on the original drive as those won't transfer as the drive will get stuck on them when you try copying/writing them in some cases.
This is know as a "fresh install" method, because basically only vetted files are returned to a new machine. Everything else is fresh and clean.
I do this method with all new machines and haven't have a lick of trouble ever. Hard drives can be slightly problematic.
**Sometimes what happens is a hard drive can't write data, this is where the secure erase method come in if it's a hard drive, as it maps off bad sectors ahead of time before laying of data when the secure erase is checked to make sure it occured.

Migrating from older G4

Interesting thing happened during transfer of files:
Don't have a firewire cable so I just connected with ethernet. Began dragging files, and itunes library to new comp.
However, next day, found that the imac had automatically transferred bookmarks, email, addresses and itunes by itself!
Would've been great if expected.. Unfortunately, it duplicated all the songs in itunes.
-How did that happen?
-And how can I easily purge out the duplicate itunes files?
