Any suggestions on how to import PS12 Projects? (Source files to PSprojects are h264 off Canon Vixia HF10))

You can not import Pinnacle studio projects directly into PE7 and open them up. You would need to export your project from Pinnacle as a video file... if you wanted to maintain it in high definition you would need to export your timeline as HDV MPEG2 or H.264. Then bring this video into PE7 using Get Media, From Files and folders. You could then continue editing... but any effects, transitions etc added in Pinnacle would be "imbedded" in the video.

By the way, the two products are different. If you only bought the key for your Visual Studio 2013, I don't think you can use the same key in Visual Studio 2010.
Anyway, you can consult the license specialists to ask whether there is a account type for you so that you can use both the two products.

Export from Pinnacle studio to Quick time/iMovie

We purchased a Pinnacle program for our PC, hoping to be able to import clips into iMovie - our primary video production machine. Unfortunately, I now see that Pinnacle Studio will not export in Quicktime (but Pinnacle Edition will). So! 3 questions...is it even possible to import a Pinnacle created clip in to an iMovie project? Is it editable in iMovie?
And finally does any one know of a fix for this Pinnacle Studio lack (I probaly have to go to Pinnacle I know!)

iMovie's native format is DV. A quicktime file is a
container. This container may contain video in any
form (=codec). Example of codecs: DV, MPEG-1, MPEG-2,
Sorenson3.
What DOES the Pinnacle Studio export? If you can
export DV, you are all set. Just use DV-PAL or
DV-NTSC depending on your location.
Thank you for your reply. Pinnacle will export in many formats. MPEG 1,2,4 also 3GPP, AVI, DivX, real media and Windows media. I can open a MPEG project from Pinnacle on the iMac (The computers are networked) but I cannot import the clips into iMovie which is what I really want and need to do! Any advice? Is there some way to convert the MPEG files so that iMovie will accept them?

Change for final cut pro HD from Pinnacle Studio 10

Hello,
After lots of problems with Pinnacle Studio 10 (windoooooows.....) I finally chose to change for final cut pro HD on Mac OS 10.3.9
So far so good, I did lots of tutorials to learn but there is one very remarkable thing I really miss. Maybe there is just a thing in my configuration to fix...
Is it possible to view a part of a movie without randering it after every simple change? It must be technically possible because studio does it for years now, even with overlays.
Because I just upgraded my ibook with lots of RAM just to try out final cut for the moment, everything runs fine but rendering does take a few minutes/hours.... Well it is ok just to try out maybe I would get a macbook pro if final cut would assure me.
I feel like cutting blind!
Studio renders right before exporting, this may take a few hours but I would do this during night...
As I said, maybe its all my fault and I just have to change some configurations....

Make sure your RT settings (upper left menu in the timeline) is set to UNLIMITED RT. This means that the render settings will be adjusted to play back at the best resolution they can without rendering. You might get a green render bar or orange render bar. If you get a red render bar, that means that you have a filter or two that isn't RT and requires a render, or you have too many layers to allow for RT playback.
If you simply drop a raw clip into the timeline and have to render, that means something is wrong. Your clip settings and sequence settings don't match. You need to choose an Easy Setup that matches your footage, then create a new sequence.

Yes, you can.
Since the STEs are T4 template and you can just take template and code any changes or improvements you require yourselves! As you mentions, there is a EF5.x STE generator, you could download it and edit it. You could check this article:

From studio, right click on the project, and go to export. This will give you a .exp file which contains all the information relating to the project.
Assuming you have correctly installed Enterprise, just open up the process administrator, go to projects, select deploy, and browse to the location of your .exp file.
Its that easy!

Pinnacle studio app ~ unable to get music from cloud

Hi, I just bought the pinnacle studio app and am unable to access my library through iCloud or directly. The app shows I only have 5 songs... Which of course I have 1000s in my cloud. I rebuilt the library and still only 5 songs available (my most recent purchases). I also bought the iCloud connection package along with the app... Can anyone tell me how to add music from my library, iCloud, to the video please? Many thanks.

To move your Music folder, use these instructions:
iTunes: Moving your iTunes Music folder.
If you can restore the old situation, start from there.
The 'iTunes Music folder location' is not the folder where your music is, but the folder where your imported and added music is stored.
The 'iTunes Library' file contains the links to the individual songs.
Moving the songs, without 'telling' iTunes, looses the links.
You must not move the library files. They have to be on your startup disk.

How to transfer tracks from iOS Garage band to iOS Pinnacle Studio on iPad?

I record songs in Garageband on my iPad 2, and now that I've finally got a HD camera I'm planning on starting a music YouTube channel; videos of me playing/singing the songs. I'd like to know the easiest way of getting my tracks from Garageband into Pinnacle Studio so I can produce the videos.

But it is a bit silly to have to buy iMovie, to be able to use sound files in a different, more expensive movie application.
And then to have to save the audio to the camera roll, to be able to access GarageBand songs in a movie application.

Simple import from homebrew DVD - Pinnacle Studio can!

Has anyone discovered an easy way (pref directly in iMovie!) to import video from a homebrew (iDVD,DVDSP,Pinnacle,Set top box etc) DVD?
This excellent feature has been in Pinnacle Studio (Windows) since at least version 9 and it easliy and quickly allows you to rip content from a home produced DVD (not a commercial one obviously) directly within Studio, allowing further editing and burning. iMovie 6 will show the DVD when you try and 'import' and it lets you select it but then it 'filters unusable files' and you end up with nothing! Studio does it quickly and easily.
Right now this is causing me grief because I am struggling to push iLife/Mac's into schools when iMovie cant do this or capture MPEG2 in real time from a DV source. Again Studio can and it saves a huge chunck of time.
Any ideas welcomed!

even some Windows apps can not override physics.. mpeg editing isn't with frame precision (or, you have to re-render within the GOP => loss of pic quality) and mpeg isn't meant for editing at all, it is a playback compressor....
Apple holds standards high, so I don't expect in the near future support for some low-quality...

Import movie from final cut pro x in pinnacle studio ?

today i make movies with pinnacle studio (windows)
i have pc with blu ray burner in pc (built in)
i would like to buy mac with final cut pro x
is it possible to make movie (high definition) in finacl cut pro x and export to a format which can be imported in pinnacle studio (version 14) without loss of quality
then i would like to burn blu ray on my pc with pinnacle studio
so : make movie with mac and burn HD movie on pc ?

It'd be easier to get Toast 11 Pro and author/burn Blu Ray on your Mac.
BUT, that's extra money you may not want to spend.
Pinnecle, does it import XML files? Well, that may not work anyway.
You'll have to export a QT movie in FCP X that Pinnacle will read.

IMovie vs Final Cut Express and Pinnacle Studio

Before I had the Imac (6 months now) for my video or photos I use Pinnacle Studio 11. Now I want to update the IMac to Leopard with ILife 09. Now I also want to use Final Cut Express for video editing. However since I seen the introduction of IMovie 09 I'm not sure which investment to make.
My question to you: with my experience with Pinnacle will Imovie 09 apply for video editing or should I also get the FCE. And what about my projects done in Pinnacle Studio.

I migrated from using a PC and Pinnacle Studio 11 to a MacBook Pro and Final Cut Express about 9 months ago. I had no previous experience with a Mac, so it has been a very steep learning curve for me. But I have been studying the bright minds on this forum for awhile and have also been taking advantage of various Final Cut tutorials on the web. I eventually stopped regretting leaving Pinnacle behind and I have come to love Final Cut and the greater creative control it offers. As for iMovie, I found it a little too basic for what I want, but it may be suitable for your needs.
As far as your Pinnacle projects are concerned, finish them up and then immerse yourself in Final Cut. I think you'll be glad you did.

Dear Apple Support Community.
As mentioned by a number of users reporting the same problem, my 2009 iMac CPU3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 8GB RAM, has become extremely slow and repeatedly "out of Memory" since it was migrated from Mountain Lion to Mavericks (OS 10.9 then OS 10.9.1).
I have already run CleanMyMac, deleted 5GB of useless stuffs, which did not translate into any improvement. Following the advices collected in other Apple Support Community threads, I have applied EtreCheck the outcome of which is provided below.
For information, I have also upgraded my 2011 MacBook CPU2.3 GHz Core i7, 8GB which became only a bit slower than before, sometimes freezing which it almost never did before. However, I am used to the fact that Mac get usually slower and more prompt fo freeze after upgrading to a more recent OS.
Both my 2009 iMac and my 2011 MacBook have F-Secure installed. So the problem with the 2009 IMac is unlikly to be due to the presence of F-Secure. Interestingly, the few abnormalities found by Etrecheck were exacly identical before I ran CleanMyMac. There are two more findings (mentioned below) since I ran CleanMyMac on the 2009 iMac, which again didn't improve the problem.
So please find below the details of the EtreCheck experience and some additional measurements made with iStat while running EtreCheck:

Practically:
The iMac can work slowly with only one software e.g. either Mail or Safari or Firefox, but still the below "out of Memory" message occurs about every 3 minutes.
Aperture has becomre to slow to be useable
If trying to write a mail (with Mail) while Safari or Firefox is open, then the "out of Memory" message occurs about every 20 seconds so I need to check on "Resume" several times per minute.
Conclusions
From the above, unless anyone in the Apple Support Community proves to be able to identify a specific problem leading to a way to find a cure, I tend to conclude that Mavericks is not suitable for computers operating with a Core 2 Duo CPU even with a 8GB of RAM.
Unless I missed something, I did not see any warning from Apple Computer Inc. informing their customers they should refrain from upgrading Core 2 Duo Computers.
The only solution I see so far is to downgrade from Mavericks to Mountain Lion. And the Apple Support Community would confirm that it is the only solution, I would appreciate to get your guidance on how to proceed.
Intended action plan
Migrate the above 2009 iMac to a 2014 Mac Mini Server operating on Mavericks to ensure that no data may be lost while downgrading to Montain Lion.
Provided the above downgrading operation is successful, assign this 2009 iMac to partial retirement e.g. Mail, Skype, iTunes and DVD player.
In advance, I would like to thank the Apple Community for helping me either i) finding a cure to the problem, ii) or confirming that Mavericks cannot operate properly on Core 2 Duo computers, iii) and in such a case, guiding me on how to downgrade to Mountain Lion.

Use what is already included with OS X. It already includes everything it needs to protect itself from viruses and malware. Keep it that way with software updates from Apple.
A much better question is "how should I protect my Mac":
Never install any product that claims to "speed up", "clean up", "optimize", or "accelerate" your Mac. Without exception, they will do the opposite.
Never install pirated or "cracked" software, software obtained from dubious websites, or other questionable sources. Illegally obtained software is almost certain to contain malware.
Don’t supply your password in response to a popup window requesting it, unless you know what it is and the reason your credentials are required.
Don’t open email attachments from email addresses that you do not recognize, or click links contained in an email:
Most of these are scams that direct you to fraudulent sites that attempt to convince you to disclose personal information.
Such "phishing" attempts are the 21st century equivalent of a social exploit that has existed since the dawn of civilization. Don’t fall for it.
Apple will never ask you to reveal personal information in an email. If you receive an unexpected email from Apple saying your account will be closed unless you take immediate action, just ignore it. If your iTunes or App Store account becomes disabled for valid reasons, you will know when you try to buy something or log in to this support site, and are unable to.
Don’t install browser extensions unless you understand their purpose. Go to the Safari menu > Preferences > Extensions. If you see any extensions that you do not recognize or understand, simply click the Uninstall button and they will be gone.
Don’t install Java unless you are certain that you need it:
Java, a non-Apple product, is a potential vector for malware. If you are required to use Java, be mindful of that possibility.
Disable Java in Safari > Preferences > Security.
Despite its name JavaScript is unrelated to Java. No malware can infect your Mac through JavaScript. It’s OK to leave it enabled.
Block browser popups: Safari menu > Preferences > Security > and check "Block popup windows":
Popup windows are useful and required for some websites, but popups have devolved to become a common means to deliver targeted advertising that you probably do not want.
Popups themselves cannot infect your Mac, but many contain resource-hungry code that will slow down Internet browsing.
If you ever see a popup indicating it detected registry errors, that your Mac is infected with some ick, or that you won some prize, it is 100% fraudulent. Ignore it.
Ignore hyperventilating popular media outlets that thrive by promoting fear and discord with entertainment products arrogantly presented as "news". Learn what real threats actually exist and how to arm yourself against them:
The most serious threat to your data security is phishing. To date, most of these attempts have been pathetic and are easily recognized, but that is likely to change in the future as criminals become more clever.
OS X viruses do not exist, but intentionally malicious or poorly written code, created by either nefarious or inept individuals, is nothing new.
Never install something without first knowing what it is, what it does, how it works, and how to get rid of it when you don’t want it any more.
If you elect to use "anti-virus" software, familiarize yourself with its limitations and potential to cause adverse effects, and apply the principle immediately preceding this one.
Most such utilities will only slow down and destabilize your Mac while they look for viruses that do not exist, conveying no benefit whatsoever - other than to make you "feel good" about security, when you should actually be exercising sound judgment, derived from accurate knowledge, based on verifiable facts.
Do install updates from Apple as they become available. No one knows more about Macs and how to protect them than the company that builds them.
Summary: Use common sense and caution when you use your Mac, just like you would in any social context. There is no product, utility, or magic talisman that can protect you from all the evils of mankind.
