Migrating iCloud calendar & contacts to Maverick Server

As I couldn't find a solution to my problem I am hoping to get some help from the community:
I am looking for a way to migrate my conyacts, calendar and reminder data ( currently kept on iCloud ) into Maverik Server.
Perhaps somebody who has done it can give me a clue.
Thanks in advance.

O.K. that's possible but one has to do that seperately for each calendar. Lengthy process.
Perhaps there is an easier way ?

You can't, there is no connection between the services, use one or the other.

Tap the little claendar icon at the top left (next to the search icon) and see what calendars are set up in WeekCal.  If none are enabled, then enable the one(s) you want to use.

  • Why is my iCloud calendar coming up as "server unauthorized" on eM Client?

    Hi all,
I have recently moved all my e-mail/contacts/calendars from Gmail to iCloud and I use eM Client as my desktop software on my PC to manage everything and keep it all in sync with my iPhone and iPad. It has all been working perfectly until this week.
On Wednesday morning this week, I switched everything on as normal and was presented with a pop-up window saying Server says "unauthorized". I wasn't sure what this was all about it a quick few checks I discovered that it wasn't accessing my calendar, though my mail and contacts were fine.
It asks me for my password and I enter it but the message keeps appearing no matter how many times I put my password in.
I have tried deleting the account and restoring it, and also deleting and reinstalling eM Client, but no joy and the problem persists today (Thursday). I am using the latest version of eM Client and there are no updates available.
Is this likely to be an iCloud issue or is it a problem with eM Client? Any advice/support will be gratefully received.
    Thanks,
    Gareth

    Hi,
I have a very similar problem. I use eMclient on a company machine, as I have issues connecting to the iCloud.com website (I enter my login data, but then it says that there is a server error). So I cannot login.
For about one year now I could sync the company Win7 machine to the iCloud calendar with eMclient, even though I faced above problems with the iCloud.com-website - eMclient was my workaround for being able to enter appointments here and syncing them to my iCloud calendar. End of last week I saw that this is not possible anymore. In eMclient I get error messages saying "bad gateway" when trying to sync to the iCloud account.
I read on the internet that Apple applied this 2-step verification, where you now have to generate an extra password for 3rd-party programs you use that interact with the iCloud.
I generated one for eMclient, but still the same.
I also made up a topic in the eMclient support forum. They say that other users have no issue (even not since the 2-step verification). I should check whether I could access https://caldav.icloud.com/. If I try this, I get a "server is not responding" error.
I talked to my admins at the company and they also say that they changed nothing to the restriction settings lately.
I checked the account settings in eMclient like stated here: iCloud: Mail server settings for email clients
    but everything is setup correctly.
So I have no idea anymore what could be the problem. I have a work-calendar setup there, too, which is working - exactly as you also mention.
    Thanks for any advice!

  • How do I access iCloud Calendar & Contact data from a pre-Lion iMac?

How do I access iCloud Calendar data from my pre-Lion iMac?
    Hardware Overview:
      Model Name:          iMac
      Model Identifier:          iMac4,1
      Processor Name:          Intel Core Duo
System 10.7 is not available for this iMac.
Since MobileMe has died, and my other iMac is running 10.7 Lion, iCloud is now the fact in Apple internet data sharing.
I'd like to keep my Address Book (now Contacts in 10.7) and Calendar in sync with my pre-10.7 iMac.  How is this done?
    Many Thanks,
    PBH

A nice idea, but ≈$100 for far more than I need. It feels like overkill.
I was thinking something more like a simple CalDAV connection.

  • ICloud calendar/contacts sync on PC via Outlook 2010 - clumsy or me?

I recently added iCloud to sync calendar, contacts and tasks from Outlook 2010 on my PC to my iPhone 4s.
Generally it works well. If I add a contact on the iPhone, the PC Outlook syncs it fairly quickly via the cloud and works in reverse as well. Exactly what I was hoping for.
After a week or so, I noticed a few irregularities which I am confused about. Not in syncing the data but what it did to my PC Outlook 2010 calendar.
In installing the iCloud sync, I saw that iCloud copied my calendar items to another calendar named iCloud calendar and deleted all of the calendar items from the "default" Outlook calendar. But they are not really deleted from the "default" calendar. I guess I was not expecting this level of intrusion by iCloud. Not a huge issue but I am still getting some alerts from the iCloud calendar and the "normal" Outlook calendar which is apparently duplicating the alerts. This is issue 1. In Outlook 2010 you can check which calendar you want to see and not include some calendars if you prefer.  I have defaulted to ony checking the iCloud calendar and not the default Outlook calendar.
The other issue is since the iCloud calendar sort of replaced the "default" calendar in Outlook 2010, the Outlook menu structure defaults to the Outlook default calendar and contacts (which is now empty) and so I have to constantly change "which contact store or calendar store to look into" in Outlook to do many functions such as find people in contacts, email addressing (using the Outlook "recent people you have emailed cache") which is a bit of a pain and seems to be necessary far to often.
So, I am asking the community; do I need to make some other setting options (IPhone 4s or Outlook 2010 on the PC) to return to a more automatic selection of the iCloud contact and calendar store so that I don't have to constantly keep changing the "look into" option?
Maybe to confuse this even further, I have a new iPad 2 which I would like to keep the calendar and contacts synched via iCloud.
I hope I have articulated this well enough as the issue seems to be a bit complicated to describe.
    Thx DD

I had the EXACT same problem and heard about CodeTwo Sync for iCloud. I downloaded and installed the 30-day trial version. So far I love it! After 30 days it reverts to only syncing the Calendar for free. Its $10 to buy the license key to keep it syncing Calendar and Contacts and Tasks. I'm NOT syncing Tasks with it because I've been using Toodledo and it works well with Categories (Contexts in Toodledo) for doing the GTD system, although I'm looking into other ways I may be use iCloud for my Outlook Tasks WHILE MAINTAING CATEGORIES.
I'm probably going to buy the CodeTwo Sync for iCloud within the 30 day trial. It does exactly what you want it to do: syncs the iCloud account folder with your default Outlook modules/folders - AUTOMATICALLY - without having to do anything (clicking, etc.). THAT's what I'M talkin' about!

  • Simple iCloud Calendar & Contacts question

I know this issue is posted many times. Nothing seems to work for me.
We have an iMac, an iPhone 5, an iPhone 4s, and an iPad 2.
My iPhone 5 is the only device that seems to reflect all calendar entries made from the other devices.
I've set and re-set iCloud so many times on each device I have no idea where to turn from here.
On my iPhone 5, I can see my wife's iPhone 4s calendar.
But her 4s calendar, or our iMac's calendar doesn't reflect all entries that are on my iPhone 5 calendar!
I swear I have all relevant calendars checked on each device.
We don't really want our separate calendars or contacts - - we share all. We just can't get all to display on every device. All devices are using the same iCloud account (my original one).
Is there a source (book or other) that would give me the assured way to set this seemingly simple request up across all devices, including troubleshooting steps for people that have their devices in these oddly different states?
Thanks in advance. I've been afraid of iCloud since inception for fear that one of us may inadvertently delete the other's entries. I'm no longer worried so much about that as I am that we can't see each other's entries on any single calendar.

Okay I seem to have fixed half of my issue. New calendar items are showing up on all devices. At least one new test item per device did; that's been the extent of my testing.
However the other half of my problem still exists. That is, any prior existing items on calendars aren't synced to the others.
For example, a Nov 22 appt is still only showing on the iphone 5 calendar that originated it, before we switched to iCloud sync (post Mavericks). I'm pretty sure I set up every device to MERGE with iCloud. Regardless, this Nov 22 entry only shows on my iphone 5 where I entered it about a month ago. It does not appear on our iMac, iPad or iPhone 4S.

  • ICloud Calendar & Contacts

How can I upload a calendar file (ics) to iCloud? Also, is there a way to download all my contacts in iCloud so I can make a backup copy in case iCloud somehow loses it?

Go to Contacts at iCloud.com. Select the All Contacts group. Hit command-a to select all. Click on the cogwheel icon at bottom left and choose Export vCard. A vCard containing all your contacts will be exported to your default download location.
The Calendar at iCloud does not provide importing of .ics files - you would have to import them to iCal (assuming you have a Mac with Lion) and sync them to iCloud.

  • Mavericks server share public read-only calendar

I've setup the Calendar service on Mavericks Server.  I have a CalDAV user setup to create calendar entries.  That's all working.  These entries show in Calendar on my computers, and they sync just fine.
Now, I want to make this a public calendar, that anyone can view, but not edit.
When I try to publish ("share") this calendar, the option for "Public" is not available, as it is with iCloud.  Is there any way to publish a public calendar from Mavericks Server?

Activate WebDAV and see the topic "Publish and unpublish calendars" in the built-in help for Calendar.

  • Mavericks Server Calendar and Contacts  services won't start.

Recently the calendar and contacts services stopped working.  Client computers started getting errors like this:
"The server responded with an error https://[some UID and a lot of other info]... is not a location that supports this request."
It was suggested by Apple tech support to do a free install/rebuild, but that's not really an option simply because of the wiki.  I've previously spent months trying to migrate wikis from Mountain Lion Server to Mavericks server; never coming across a working solution and ending up having to copy/paste every page from the old server to the new server.  Apple had no working solution for migration wikis and instead suggested a reference to a Krypted site URL (which also didn't work).
Other services are working just fine, but here are the symptoms we're experiencing:
Calendar service has reported a code 0 at one point, but did not continue the error
Calendar service has reported a code -1 at one point, but did not continue the error
Calendar service in can be toggled on, but the service never starts and stays offline even though the toggle switch is "on".
Calendar service full status in Terminal.app is stuck in starting
Calendar and Contacts services seem to take a while to load the status pane in Server.app
Client computers get repeated, non-stop, connection error dialogue boxes in Calendar.app
Occasionally when I try to see the Contacts service status by select it, I get "A networking error occurred while trying to communicate with the server" - this is using Server.app on the server itself, not from a client computer.
It seems the two primary problems are starting the services and therefore connecting to them.  Other services such as wiki and filesharing are working fine.
    Any ideas folks?
BTW - my Time Machine backup did nothing to help the situation.

  • How to use Icloud calendar and contacts with calendar server

    Hi
I have a small network setup using a mountain lion server and a couple of mac mini's running snow leopard. In addition I have several iphones and ipads attached to the network.
I want to syn calendars and contacts accross all devices but dont want to use icloud for the private stuff. I have the basics working but can not get the general icloud contacts and appointments to sync on the mac mini's. Is there a way to sync this data or do I have to duplicate each appointment , one to icloud the other to the server address book and calendar.
I know that there is a way to sync snow leopard with icloud but I do not want all data on I could as some of it is sensative, so require to keep it internal.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    cheers

    Thanks for the help
Not sure I have explained myself properly, I already have the server set up and have a local calendar and address book working.
The issue I am having is how to integrate it with the icloud address book and appointments.
    for example,
I have an appointment at 10.30 with a client, I need to have this show up on all mobile devices and the local network mini's. As it stands I have to put it in twice, once in the icloud calendar and once in the local network calendar. I would like to be able just to add it once and it show on all clients.

  • Open directory server crashing every 30 days / clients unable to connect to calendar, contacts server

    Hello everyone,
I am running an up to date Mavericks Server which serves exclusively as a calendar and contacts server for about two dozens devices. The server is reachable via DynDNS, however, the public IP hardly ever changes (only once or twice a year maybe). Tried setting the OS X DNS Server to serve "all clients" and "some clients".
For about 6 months (i.e. also under Mountain Lion), I am having a very strange problem. Roughly every 20-30 days, clients will not be able to connect to the server, instead getting a "wrong password" dialog. Restarting the open directory server will help for the next 30 days.
I have tried repairing the database as detailed here, however, the issue persists.
Any help would be highly appreciated!
I would have tried setting up a clean server installation, migrating calendars/contacts manually and re-adding all users by hand, however, I am not aware of an easy way to do so. The terminal command for calendar backup is broken under mavericks (might work with this workaround) and re-adding users manually would apparently involve correcting user UUIDs afterwards in order to match the migrated calendar data. Do you know of a better approach?
    Thanks a lot!

  • Migration from MS Exchange 2003 to Mavericks Server

Can anyone recommend a migration path from MS Exchange 2003 to OS X Mavericks Server? The key features to be migrated and used with the new server are: email, contacts, calendar, group tasks management, file sharing.
Also, any hardware recommendation? Is Mac mini enough for a group of about 6-8 other Macs or could we benefit from the new Mac Pro? Perhaps an iMac (with a Fusion Drive)?
    Thanks for any suggestions.

I don't think you know the limitations — Exchange Server provides rather more than what Postfix and Dovecot do.
This is a generic Exchange Server to Postfix/Dovecot migration, which — in conjunction with the imapsync option — might find some other discussions.
For migrating from Exchange Server itself, AFAIK, no, there are no packaged tools for that available.   Tools such as imapsync can be used to migrate mail among imap servers, which can be an option here once imap is enabled on the Exchange Server, and once you know (or reset) all the passwords.  Or you can select all and then drag and drop the messages.
Slightly closer to Exchange Server in capabilities are the Zimbra and Kerio products.  Zimbra has migration tools, IIRC.
FWIW, please do not thread-jack, it just confuses the discussions — or at least it usually just ends up confusing readers.  This is a very different question from the original, and should be its own separate thread.

  • How to migrate a local calendar to a WebDAV server?

Because I do not like to sync using iCloud I installed Maverick Server to have a local server for my calendars. The other devices in my home can then connect to it. I found it easy to set up using this webpage and it works with a test calendar. I add something in iCal with my MacBook and seconds later it appears on my iPad.
But I am puzzled on how to migrate my local calendars in iCal to the server. I tried to export them to the desktop and then import them into the server calendar I see in iCal. Then iCal gives this warning:
Should I proceed? I do not want to damage 12 years of iCalendar data. I have backups, but preventing a mess is always easier.

Surprisingly, this morning all calendars showed up in my iPhone. Apparently there is a delay.
But now there is another issue with the error:
"The server responded with an error.
Access to “event from years ago” in “the second added calendar” in account “local” is not permitted.
    The server responded:
    “403” to operation CalDAVWriteEntityQueueableOperation."
[Ignore] [Try Again] [Revert to Server]
Each event starting with the beginning of that calendar (years ago) seems to generate an error. It will take a day to click on Ignore for all those events.
Will ask this in a new thread. For now the issue this thread is about is solved, thank you. I also updated my profile, except for my iPad. No 'edit' option next to that one. Strange.
