Migrating installation to another computer

I have a Windows Master license key I am using on both a desktop PC and laptop PC (both running Windows 7).  The laptop I have is being retired and I have purchased an Apple Laptop to replace it.  How do I uninstall the laptop copy of my Master Collection CS6 and free up the license key so I can use it on the apple laptop?
Regards,
Austin

A CS6 license is only good for a single operating system, PC or Mac.  It cannot support both.  If you want to use it on your Mac you would have to discontinue using it on your PCs.  See the following help file:
Change product platform or language
You can swap languages/platforms for a latest version product if you follow the instructions at the following link:

  • Migrating skype to another computer, passwor forgo...

    Hi all and excuse my english.
    My wife has a problem:
    - She is migrating from an Mac to a new one.
    - She is using Skype since 2006.
    - She does not remember her skype password.
    - She didn't specify any email address while registering.
    - She never use paid services.
    but
    - She can still uses Skype on her old MacBook because the software remember the password.
    Do you know if she can prove her identity using a skype call to techsupport?
    I guess if she is using skype on her old computer she should be able to migrate to another computer even if she forgot the key and didn't specify any email address while registering.
    Thanks in advance

    I think a possible solution is for her to purchase any services (which could be not ideal or practical), then use the password automation page in order to request for a new password without the need of an email address.
    moreover, can you please check what appears when you open the change email address page?

  • How to Migrate LR to Another Computer | The Complete Picture with Julieanne Kost | Adobe TV

    In this episode of the Complete Picture, Julieanne Kost explains how to transfer all of your Lightroom Catalogs, backups, presets, preferences and supporting files from one computer to another. If the paths to your images change along the way, she provides her tips on how to re-link any missing files and folders.
    http://adobe.ly/wDrTGO

    This is much more complicated than it need be - Adobe should make a Migrate command that moves the entire show. Users can then deselect options as to what to copy or simply copy wholesale. Don't you think?

  • Migrating Lightroom to another computer

    Hello: I just got a new computer and I imagine that there must be a way to migrate all of the Lightroom 'stuff' over. My old computer used XP while the new one is Windows 7 which is initially a bit confusing. The old HD is temporarily connected to the new computer while I migrate other folders. Perhaps one just migrates the image folders and starts from scratch - sounds like a terrible idea!
    Am I allowed a second question? Can I just download the trial version of Lightroom then insert my key to make it 'legitimate'?
    Thanks very much.

    Yes.
    As to the move: You might want to read up on this article in Victoria Bamptons blog which is very helpful. If everything is done right, you won't lose anything of your work done.

  • Why does my compiled exe ask for the location of subvis when installed on another computer?

    Hello,
    I have a piece of deployable software I have developed and so I have created two build specifications to produce an .exe file and an installer.
    The build specification for the installer includes the compiled exe and all of the required SubVIs to reside in a sub directory in the install directory and when it installs on another computer the SubVIs are located in the correct place.
    However, when I install and run it on another computer, a dialog box appears prompting for the location of the SubVIs, I select the one that it is asking for and it then loads the remaining VIs and runs as normal.
    Is there something fundamentally I'm missing in the way SubVIs are called after using an installer, or is there a way to bundle them into the .exe/installer so that I don't receive the dialog box?
    Many thanks in advance,
    Sam

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Yes - but on my computer, I believe the exe is finding the files from the .exe build, rather than the installer location.
    In fact, I just renamed the default build directory (where it places the installer / exe after the build and I get the same dialog - it is looking in C:\LabVIEW Builds\etc.
    rather than...
    C:\Program Files\My Software\subvidirectory
    So maybe it is the problem you suggested Yamaeda? If so - is there a solution/workaround for this?

  • What is the best way to migrate your Adobe software to another computer?

    What is the best way to migrate your Adobe software to another computer?

    If you know that you do not intend to use the software on the old machine (especially if you are getting rid of it), the minimum you need to do is deactivate it.  That will disable use of it and free up an extra activation for you should you ever wish to have two machines available to use it on.  To deactivate you just open an application and choose Help -> Deactivate.  If this happens to be a Creative Suite, doing that to just one of the applications will deactivate the entire Suite.
    You can also uninstall the software if you like, but be sure to deactivate it first.

  • 5.0 shows installed on ff help. Programs and features shows only 3.6.8. When I try to download 5.0 computer says it must restart to finish installation of another ff. Restart has no effect. Looks like I am stuck on 3.6.8. Please help.

    This computer will not update to 5.0. I have tried to download and install 5.0 for many weeks. My OTHER computer updated fine. When I try to install 5.0 it say to restart to finish installation of another firefox. Restart does not change anything.
    I click on ff help, about ff and it says 5.0 is installed. I look on programs and features and only ff 3.6.8 is listed. I have tried clean ups, update java, plugins and stuff like that with no change to this issue.

    I guess no one cares.

  • Migrated Flash CS4 to another computer and it won't startup now

    Using Migration Assistant on my mac I transferred all my files to another computer. All the other Adobe programs are starting up no problem (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) When I try to start up Flash CS4, it just freezes with the message "copying first run files.." and then it crashes.
    I don't have the install discs unfortunately (or I would try to re-install) because this was given to me by a company I work for remotely. Any thoughts on how I can fix this? Thanks!

    I am having the same problem now - everything else migrated fine (even  Illustrator 10), but CS4 crashes on opening. I have uninstalled it and re-installed it as I do have the disks. I have deleted the preferences and .plst file as suggested in other forums. Still no luck. Hopefully someone will some day reply with an answer!!

  • I have bought a CS5 suite (student) 2 years back. I have lost the original box and DVD. Now I am migrating to another computer and I couldnt find a source to install the CS5. Please help.

    I have bought a CS5 suite (student) 2 years back. I have lost the original box and DVD. Now I am migrating to another computer and I couldnt find a source to install the CS5. Please help.
    I couldnt even contact adobe direct to address the issue.

    If you registered with Adobe, your authorization number will be in your account on Adobe's website. Then you can use their downloads page and download CS5 and install it. A search on their main page will get you to the download page.

  • How to migrate just one email account to another computer not the whole profile

    I have several email accounts in the default profile. I added an account to help a friend scrape email off a webmail server to solve his quota problem. They are visible in their separate inbox and folders. Now I want to "export" his emails in a format that can be imported into his newly installed Thunderbird. If I back up and restore the whole profile won't it take all of my accounts with it? Don't want that. Just want to move his data.

    You could use ImportExportTools addon.
    * https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/importexporttools/
    download file to eg: desktop
    To install addon:
    In Thunderbird
    * Tools > addons
    * click on gear wheel icon
    * select; Install addon from file
    * locate the file you downloaded and click on Open
    You may need to restart Thunderbird.
    To use the tool:
    * Right click on folder - select 'ImportExporttools > Export folder
    note: If Pop mail account - no worries as everything is stored in TB profile.
    If IMAP mail account, make sure all subscribed folders were synchronised to get an mbox copy in the Profile folder as subscribed folders (not synchronised) only download headers. Then go offline mode (this temporarilly stops synchronising) to Export them.
    When all folders are exported, you can copy then to a suitable medium eg: usb stick, so that your friend can copy them to another computer.
    Your friend could use the same addon to Import those folders into Thunderbird after creating the mail account.
    When you have exported all of the folders with emails, you could remove the mail account.
    * Tools > account Settings
    * select the mail account
    * click on 'Account actions'
    * select 'Remove account'
    * click on OK
    You may then need to also remove them from your Profile folder.
    Help > Troubleshooting Information
    click on 'show Folder'
    a window opens showing Profile folder. You might need to make hidden files and folders visible to see these files.
    http://kb.mozillazine.org/Show_hidden_files_and_folders
    Close Thunderbird now this is important.
    click on 'Mail' folder (has pop mail accounts and Local folders) or ImapMail fo IMAP folders and look for and delete your friends mail account name folder.
    then restart Thunderbird.

  • I can connect to DM if I log in under another computer user (guest user) but not my own computer account?

    I have tried a lot of installs/clean uninstalls of DM to get my Bold 9700 to connect with the Desktop Manager.  It did once a week ago but never did a proper sync?  Since then I've done a ton of reading and trying to get this darn thing to synch.
    I'm running Windows Vista SP2, Dell laptop and trying to use version 6.0 of Desktop Manager. The odd thing that I run into is that if I log on to my computer as a guest and open the Desktop Manager it recognizes the BB.  I'm almost thinking to move my outlook and all my settings there and delete my current windows account...  There has to be a setting on the computer system that is not allowing the connection on my current login.  If I can login as another user and get DM to work than that shows the USB connection is good and device manager drivers are working, other software is not the cause (firewalls, virus checkers etc.).  What computer setting am I missing???
    I've done a clean uninstall and reinstall of the software, I've done the hard reset on the BB,  I've done the new USB cable and different USB port.  Can you lead me through some other ideas or suggestions?  I'm at a lost and next to never post for help because most times I can find a resolution on these types of forums.  Haven't found anyone mentioning the fact of logging into another computer account to see that the BB is connected and recognized.  Completely stumped but in my defense I'm new to the Blackberry world and any suggestions are greatly appreciated!  If someone figures this out I will be sure to give a glowing review!!!

    but it wont let me do it from my actual user account on my macbook.
    Why not?

  • Why have iTunes on another computer?

    I have iTunes on my desktop computer (Windows 7 Professional 32-bit).  I can connect my iPod 30G to it and drag/drop tunes/videos between the iPod and the computer.
    I recently bought a laptop and installed iTunes on it also.  I am now trying every which way I know how to get those songs/videos off the iPod and onto this computer.  I've done searches in this (and other) forum panels and as near as I can tell, iTunes will let an iPod sync with just ONE computer.
    My question s this: why bother putting iTunes on another computer if you cannot copy your music from the iPod to the computer?  If this is not true, then could someone please enlighten me as to the procedure to copy/paste FROM the iPod to the computer?
    Bill

    These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
    Method 1
    Backup the library with this User Tip.
    Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
    Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
    Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
    Method 2
    Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
    Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
    I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
    If you have an iOS device that syncs with contact & calendar data on your computer you should migrate this information too. If that isn't possible create a dummy entry of each type in your new profile and iTunes should offer to merge the existing data from the device into the computer, otherwise the danger is that it will wipe the information from the device.
    If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
    Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data. If you don't have any Apple devices then see HT2519 - Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store.

  • Pages PDF documents does not open in another computer?

    Pages documents which I export to PDF does not open in another computer (Mac or PC).
    my computer is macbookpro and earlier everything worked fine.
    Pages is 4.05 version.
    Thanks!

    There is a bug in OSX 10.6.7 which damages pdf files using PostScript OpenType fonts.
    You will need to go back to the earlier OSX 10.6.6 by reinstalling from your Installer DVDs.
    Or only use TrueType OpenType fonts. Get info in FontBook to find out which is which.

  • How do i activate cs 1 on another computer?

    how do i activate cs 1 on another computer?

    You don't. The activation servers for cs and cs2 were taken down, and your original copy of cs will not work.
    Adobe has provided a non-activation version of cs2 for cs and cs2 owners.
    Download the mac or pc installer and use the serial number provided with it.
