Migrating Itunes from Windows XP computer to IBook

I what to migrate my Itunes libray from my XP computer to my IBook. I can use
an external Hard drive to do the migration. What is the best way to do this so I do not drop off my play list etc?
What folder and Files do I have to copy over and to where?
What is the best way to go about this? I will not be using the XP computer any longer
thanks

I´ve done this. The songs play fine on my PowerBook, but many songs are skipped when I copy them to my iPod. I have tried many ways of find some kind of workaround. The song play fine, if I copy them from XP. This is really painful, not being able to use my new PowerBook. Help, please.

  • How to move iPhone 4/iTunes from Windows XP computer to Windows 7 computer?

I need step by step instructions for moving my iPhone 4/iTunes files from a PC Windows XP computer (current version) running Outlook 2003 to a new PC Windows 7 64 bit computer running Outlook 2010.  I sync Outlook email, calendar, contacts, notes, and have iTunes music (purchased and not purchased) and photos (camera roll only).  I'm not using iCloud due to duplication of data inconsistencies.  My iPhone 4 is fully up-to-date on OS version, as is my iTunes.  My iPhone 4 is fully backed up to the current computer.  The current XP computer is the only computer that I sync with, and the new 7 computer will be the only computer I sync with post transfer.
    Thanks in advance.

Use the Windows File Transfer Utility to move everything.

  • HT1923 How do I remove iTunes from Windows 8 computer

How do I completely remove iTunes from a Windows 8 computer

    Hello mjons79,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information on this, take a look at:
iTunes Store: About authorization and deauthorization
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1420
    To deauthorize a computer
    Open iTunes.
From the Store menu, choose Deauthorize This Computer. (In earlier versions of iTunes, access this option from the Advanced menu).
When prompted, enter your Apple ID and password, then click Deauthorize.
Remember to deauthorize your computer before you sell it, give it away, or get your computer serviced. Also, make sure you deauthorize your computer before you upgrade your RAM, hard disk or other system components, or reinstall Windows. If you do not deauthorize your computer before you upgrade these components, one computer may use multiple authorizations.
    Best of luck,
    Mario

  • A Twist in Migrating Itunes from Windows to Mac

Hello, I recently moved from WIndows and is very new to the Mac and so am not very sure how this thing will work. I have seen several posts on migration but it assumes one thing: that my Itunes Library Folder and My Itunes Contents are all in one directory called Itunes Music.
AT the present time, my Itunes Library is in my C; drive in WIndows and my Itunes content is found in my H: external drive. I can't consolidate to my C: drive as it is relatively full already. Can I consolidate to my H; drive? does it mean that my Itunes Library folder will move to the H: Drive? I also have applications in which I assume is in the c: drive...can't seem to find it on my H drive.
    Help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Migrating iTunes from Windows to Mac.

I'll be buying a new iMac soon. If I backup my music collection on my Windows box, will it restore to my new Mac?
    Thanks,
    Jay

Ok, I got my 20" iMac. I burned my iTunes for Windows library to DVD using the backup feature. I then proceeded to restore it to my Mac. It doubled the smart playlists, which I deleted. I also had to go in and update all my content I had unchecked as well. All and all, it took a few hours and about 6 DVDs, but it's possible.

Connect the iPhone to your Mac. Launch iTunes. From the iTunes menu bar click Store / Authorize This Computer.
Now select the iPhone under Devices on the left side of the iTunes window in the source list. From the iTunes menu bar click File / Transfer Purchase from ...

Can't help with the iTunes thing, since I don't have a PC to muck with. However, once you sort this issue out, see these, and welcome to Mac land:

  • Trying to login to my itunes from my moms computer and it only comes up with her itunes, anyone know if i can actually do this?

trying to login to my itunes from my moms computer and it only comes up with her itunes, anyone know if i can actually do this?

The only content that's associated with your account are songs, etc. that you've purchased from the iTunes Store.  Everything else (material imported from CD, bought from other sources like Amazon, etc.) is stored on your computer (or your mom's). So, even though you've logged into iTunes with your Apple ID you are still seeing the content of your mom's library (which implies that your running iTunes under the same Windows user account).  I believe that iTunes Match (which I don't have - its an add-on service that you have to pay a subscription for) allows your "local" content to be uploaded to Apple's cloud servers and shared in the way that you describe.  if your computer and your mom's are on the same network you may be able to access your songs by turning on network sharing (not Home Sharing) while both machines are on and running iTunes.

  • Copying iTunes from windows 7 pro to new 2013 Mac Pro

Have all my work on my iPhone 5s. Do nothing but manually syncing on lates iTunes. What to copy iTunes to new Mac Pro so I can use my iPhone on either computer.
Laptop at work and desktop at home.
All store bought music on C drive in iTunes as it should be along with books etc. but about 8 gbs of my ripped music some mp3 some ACC all at 320 is on my internal drive.
First thought is change iTunes setting to CONSOLIDATE hoping D drive music will go into iTunes properly.
While I searched KB I came up flat. I like a clean organized computer. While I know windows vert well I am new to Mac pros (but not iPhones nor iOS 7)..
Any way I can do this cleanly. I can put a full backup of iTunes onto a USB hard drive I use for 3rd back up off pictures and iTunes
    Thank you

Merry Xmas CF McBlob and thank you. I had thought about that but I want a cleaner easier way of doing it as I start to setup my MacBook Pro I have run into a few things and don't like the D drive idea. I did format a 1 TB drive last nite giving 700gb to Time Capsule and 300gb to data. Used Guid format than journaled for TC and fat for data with disk utility.
There has to be a way I can mirror libraries on computers for iPhone 5s. Heck I see icloud took care of contacts, etc. and iTunes saw all my bought music in cloud and downloaded it to macbook. I consolidated my original library so now all us together. There must be way to copy iTunes from windows and use it to replace folders on Maverick latest so my iPhone 5s is seen the same on windows 7 Pugent system and apple MacBook Pro. I called Apple but got a genius on the phone that had to keep asking for help herself and referencing the KBarticle that gives a few options none of which are clean.
    Thank you

Open the Users folder on the internal drive, drag all of the other home folders to the desktop, and then move the files inside to the desired locations.

  • Is there a migration assistent from windows to Leopard?

My new MacBook Pro runs de Snow Leopard... I would like to transfer my files from my PC, but can't find a migration assistent from windows to Snow Leopard... just from windows to Lion...

There is no migration assistant for Windows to Snow Leopard. But you can transfer your files to an external drive that has been formatted FAT32 as the Mac can read and write to a FAT32 formatted drive.
